Christian and Missionary Alliance revokes Zacharias’ credentials
The Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, which had held Ravi Zacharias’s credentials, has now revoked his ordination posthumously.
This comes after recent independent investigations commissioned by both the C&MA and Ravi Zacharias International Ministries confirmed accusations of habitual sexual sin on the part of the evangelist.
NBC News, CNN, Yahoo News, the New York Times, and the Washington Post have all published stories of what has turned into a major national scandal defacing the church of Jesus Christ in the U.S.
First Baptist pastor jailed for 12 years over sexual sin
Ministry Watch also reports on Jack Schaap, pastor of the First Baptist mega-church of Hammond, Indiana, now serving twelve years for sexual sin he committed with a 16-year-old girl he was counseling.
Schapp was denied early release from prison, as the U.S. Attorney called the ex-pastor a “danger.”
Ephesians 5:3 encourages us to walk as children of light, And that “sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.”
MacArthur cancels annual conference over COVID Tyranny
Grace Community Church and Pastor John MacArthur have decided to postpone their annual Shepherds Conference scheduled in March. County health officials threatened to take action against the conference which would have attracted thousands of church leaders from around the country.
Although the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to allow indoor worship in the state of California, the officials indicated that Shepherds’ Conference didn’t qualify as a worship service.
Supreme Court conservatives divided over religious question
An unusual case divided the conservatives on the U.S. Supreme Court in a decision that came down last Thursday. The question was whether an Alabama inmate, Willie B. Smith III, could be attended by a pastor for his execution.
Justices Thomas, Kagan, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Amy Coney Barrett granted the application, while Justices Kavanaugh and Roberts offered a dissent.
130,000 Hong Kong residents set to immigrate to U.K.
At least 130,000 Hong Kong residents will be fleeing communism for the United Kingdom in what promises to be the largest influx of immigrants in years.
The U.K. Government is allowing Hong Kong residents holding a British National Overseas passport to immigrate. In a recent interview, Bob Fu from China Aid told Release International that “The crackdown is so severe in some areas of Hong Kong that freedom of speech and freedom of association is actually worse than in mainland China. There is arbitrary detention, massive surveillance and a huge crackdown of legally elected legislators.”
Dow Jones up 250 points
The Dow Jones Industrial Average registered a 250-point increase for the week, closing at a record 31,458 Monday.
Meanwhile, the Wilshire 5000 to Gross Domestic Product, sometimes known as the Greed Index, has reached 200%, up from 120% two years ago, averaging around 90% for most of the 2000s. That means stocks are overvalued by double in relation to the historical average.
Goldman Sachs Money-losing Stocks Tech Index is scraping 400%, up from an historical average of 100%. Fortune Magazine called the stocks “wildly overvalued.” And Economist David Rosenberg told CNBC the market is one “massive bubble.”
Jesus said, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” (Luke 12:15)
Two garbage men save 10-year-old girl from kidnapper/sex offender
Two sanitation workers interrupted a kidnapping and rescued a 10-year-old girl in New Iberia, Louisiana, reports ABC 13. Dion Merrick and his co-worker saw the suspicious car belonging to the kidnapper and convicted sex offender in a field, and contacted the local police.
Facebook Live recorded the testimony of the sanitation worker, giving God the praise for the save.
MERRICK: “I ain’t lying, bro. It was a blessing, dog. I just thank God, man. Look, He blessed us to find that little girl. You know what I’m saying? For real, bro.”
Merrick added that “Whoever’s little girl this is, you need to fall on your knees and tell God, ‘Thank you. Thank you, because it could have been worse.’”
3.6 million Texan households lost power in winter storm
In God’s ruling sovereignty over all things, an unusually cold front hit the nation over the weekend, surprising Texans with sub-zero weather and winter storm warnings. 3.6 million households lost power, including my own, with the severe temperatures and snowfall continuing into Wednesday. In fact, I am recording this newscast in the warm home of our good friends Will and Glenna Pearce here in San Antonio.
The Alamo City has not seen anything like this winter storm in 31 years, when temperatures fell to 6 degrees in San Antonio and left a thick carpet of snow on top of a layer of ice on Monday, reports the San Antonio Express-News.
Denver, Colorado also recorded a record low temperature on Monday, of – (minus) 11 degrees Fahrenheit.
Stay warm y’all!
