Christian woman in India brutally murdered by Hindu extremists
A 25-year-old Indian Christian woman named Suman Munda, who converted six years ago, was brutally murdered on July 19th by four youths associated with a Hindu fanatic group after they learned of her conversion recently, reports UCA News. Her murder marked the fifth religiously motivated killing of a Christian in the country in less than two months.
Bishop Binay Kandulna said, “We condemn the killing and appeal to the administration to take strict action against the culprits. It is very unfortunate that we have lost a precious life.”
India is ranked #10 on Open Doors’ 2020 World Watch List of the countries where it’s most difficult to be a Christian.

13% undecided in Trump/Biden presidential election
A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll revealed that 13% of voters say their vote is up for grabs in the presidential election, reports the Wall Street Journal.
That is compared with 50% who say there is no chance they will support President Trump and 37% who say there is no chance they will support Joe Biden.
Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt said, “Right now, Trump’s down 11 points. This is a group he’s got to run the table with. He’s got to win all of them.”
Black Trump supporter shot dead in broad daylight
A 60-year-old black Donald Trump supporter was shot dead in broad daylight near his “Vote Trump” banners as cops investigate a “political motive”, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Bernell Trammell, 60, was shot in front of his business, Expression Publications, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Thursday afternoon. The suspect drove up where Trammel was sitting outside, shot him, and drove off.
Milwaukee policemen are not sure of the motive at this time – but investigators are probing whether Trammell was gunned down over his GOP beliefs.
John MacArthur: Biblical case for church to remain open
John MacArthur, the Pastor of California’s Grace Community Church and the host of “Grace to You”, announced that his church would continue to hold in-person services despite state-mandated restrictions banning in-person worship services, reports the Christian Post.
In a statement entitled “Christ, not Caesar, is Head of Church: A Biblical Case for the Church to Remain Open”, MacArthur wrote, “Compliance would be disobedience to our Lord’s clear commands. Government officials have no right to interfere in ecclesiastical matters in a way that undermines or disregards the God-given authority of pastors and elders.
“Insofar as government authorities do not attempt to assert ecclesiastical authority or issue orders that forbid our obedience to God’s law, their authority is to be obeyed whether we agree with their rulings or not. In other words, Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2 still bind the consciences of individual Christians. We are to obey our civil authorities as powers that God Himself has ordained.”
MacArthur continued, “However, while civil government is invested with divine authority to rule the state, neither of those texts (nor any other) grants civic rulers jurisdiction over the church. God has established three institutions within human society: the family, the state, and the church. Each institution has a sphere of authority with jurisdictional limits that must be respected.”
Conservative, pro-life professor commits suicide
Mike Adams, a tenured University of North Carolina-Wilmington professor who became a lightning rod for left-wing hate, committed suicide on Friday at home, reports Star News.
According to LifeSiteNews.com, Adams was known for his pro-life convictions, saying in a recent tweet, “Abortion intentionally kills an innocent human being.”
A divorced columnist for TownHall.com, Adams had just been forced into taking early retirement and was set to receive a $504,702 settlement from UNCW on August 1st for lost salary and lost retirement benefits.
On May 28, the 55-year-old wrote: ‘Don’t shut down the universities. Shut down the non-essential majors. Like Women’s Studies.”
Referring to Black Lives Matter protests, he wrote on Twitter: “The violent outrage of white liberals taking to the streets is brought to you by your local university. None of this would be possible without the encouragement of academic extremists who have hijacked the system of higher education.”
Christian Major League Baseball player refuses to kneel
And finally, when Major League Baseball players knelt to honor the Black Lives Matter movement ahead of the season opener, San Francisco Giants pitcher Sam Coonrod was the only player who remained standing, later explaining that, as a Christian, he doesn’t kneel before “anything besides God,” reports the Christian Post.
According to TMZ Sports, he said, “I just can’t get on board with a couple things I’ve read about Black Lives Matter, how they lean toward Marxism. And … they said some negative things about the nuclear family.”
Writing for The Christian Post, Michael Brown, host of the daily talk show “the Line of Fire,” recently argued that “the BLM organization is dangerous, anti-Christian, and should be avoided.”
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol of their day, even though the penalty was death.
In Daniel 3:17-18, the three brave Jewish young men said, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

Biden’s Vice Presidential choice
Despite Joe Biden’s lead in the polls, he is still under heavy pressure to pick a Black woman, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Joel Goldstein at St. Louis University School of Law said, “The more the electoral map looks promising, you start thinking more about compatibility, and whether this is somebody I really want to be my partner for four or eight years.”
A “do-no-harm” caution could make it less likely that Biden would make a potentially high-risk, high-reward choice such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, a leftist leader who might excite the party’s left wing and young people, but could alienate moderate voters.
It might boost the prospects of lower-profile candidates like Rep. Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles), a Black leftist, or Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, a disabled veteran and Thai American.
But lower-profile, low-key types may not be prepared for the pressure cooker of a national campaign, which is why many handicappers believe a top contender is Sen. Kamala Harris of California — a Black former presidential candidate.
Gold’s value climbs as world economy falters
Early on in the pandemic, the price of gold was in freefall, reports Bloomberg.
But now, gold has topped $1,900 per ounce for the first time since 2011. The U.S. bond markets have been a driving force behind the rush to gold, which is serving as an attractive hedge as yields on Treasuries that strip out the effects of inflation fall below zero.
Investors are looking for safe havens that won’t lose value.
Christian wedding officiant refuses to marry two homosexuals
An ordained minister in Ohio has filed a federal lawsuit against Cuyahoga County, challenging a law that would require her to officiate homosexual marriage ceremonies or face a fine of $5,000, reports the Christian Post.
Kristi Stokes, an evangelical Christian and the owner of Covenant Weddings, filed the lawsuit this week at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
The county recently passed a law that forbids businesses from objecting to participating in a wedding ceremony which rebels against God’s design of a husband and a wife, says the Christian legal firm Alliance Defending Freedom, which filed the suit on behalf of Stokes.
Stokes said. “I can’t simply put my religious identity into separate personal and professional boxes. If you’re looking for someone to officiate your wedding, and you’re hoping to incorporate a cannabis theme or write prayers to celebrate an open marriage, I’m not your girl.”
Is China sending disease-ridden seeds to America?
A strange package has been sent to people in multiple states: random, unidentified seeds from China, reports the News Tribune.
Residents in Washington, Utah and Virginia have received small packages of seeds in the mail that appear to be sent from China, officials said.
On Friday, the Washington State Department of Agriculture said, “Today we received reports of people receiving seeds in the mail from China that they did not order. The seeds are sent in packages usually stating that the contents are jewelry. Unsolicited seeds could be invasive, introduce diseases to local plants, or be harmful to livestock.”
In Utah, at least 40 people had received mysterious seeds, Fox 13 reported.
