Canada set to deport Nigerian family to their deaths!
Last Thursday, September 12th, 50 protesters came out to the Constituency Office of Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen in Toronto, Canada to show their support for Morufat Ogunkoya and her three school-age children who are fighting a deportation order to Nigeria, Africa that threatens their lives.
The Ogunkoya family fled to Canada from Nigeria in January of 2018 seeking refuge. The mother, Morufat, her 16-year-old son, and her two daughters ages 14 and 10, faced years of discrimination, persecution, and physical abuse in Nigeria as a result of their Christian faith. The physical scars on Morufat’s body testify to her story of suffering, which she endured at the hands of her Muslim family and community since she converted to Christianity.
A CitizenGo petition with over 30,000 signatures was presented to a representative of Minister Hussen, who himself is a Somali refugee, in his office during the rally. Hussen’s staff refused a request to address the 50 protesters or offer any comment on the Ogunkoya case.
Morufat works full-time, her children attend school, and all are involved in a local church and volunteer efforts. The family is entirely self-supporting.
The Executive Director of CitizenGO Canada, David Cooke, asserts that “deporting the Ogunkoya family is a death sentence for them, as there is a fatwa against them in Nigeria for following Christ.”
In 2017, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau famously tweeted to the world: “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada.”
One of the 50 protesters called Trudeau out for his hypocrisy.
PROTESTER: “In Justin Trudeau’s tweet, he said that we are compassionate to all refugees that are fleeing persecution — no matter of the religion. Here we see a double standard where this family has come in from Nigeria fleeing death.”
Join 34,000 other concerned citizens and sign this petition, email (Ahmed.Hussen@parl.gc.ca) and call Minister Hussen at 416-656-2526 and politely ask that he not deport the Ogunkoya family.
Sparks fly over health care at Democratic presidential debate
Last Thursday night, the top 10 leading Democratic presidential contenders debated one another on the ABC stage in Houston, Texas.
Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota disagreed over health care.
SANDERS: “Every study done shows that Medicare for All is the most cost-effective approach to providing health care to every man, woman and child in this country. I wrote the bill, if I may say so, intend to eliminate all out of pocket expenses when it comes to our health care.”
KLOBUCHAR: “When it comes to our premiums, I go with the doctors’ creed, which is ‘Do no harm.’ And while Bernie wrote the bill, I read the bill. (laughter) And on page eight, on page eight of the bill, it says that we will no longer have private insurance as we know it. And that means that 149 million Americans will no longer be able to have their current insurance. I don’t think that’s a bold idea. I think it’s a bad idea!”
Did Biden’s teeth fall out in debate?
When ABC moderator David Muir asked a question of Vice President Biden it appeared as though Biden’s teeth almost fall out of his mouth during the Democratic debate on Thursday night in Houston?
One comment underneath The American Mirror article said, “Even Biden’s teeth are abandoning his campaign.”
The Bahamas spared a Tropical Storm this weekend
Right after Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas, Tropical Storm Humberto initially looked like it was going to hit the Bahamas as well.
Thankfully, it took sharp northeastern turn out into the Atlantic where it is became a hurricane, reports CBS News.
Singer proclaims he is “non-binary”, demands “they/them” pronouns
Sam Smith, the 27-year-old, four-time Grammy winning singer, declared himself “non-binary”, foolishly asking the world to use the ‘they/them’ pronouns instead of he/him. (Notice that Wikipedia has quickly accommodated.)
He said, “After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out.”
Mark 10:6 says, “At the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.”
Facebook censors 2 pro-life videos inspiring Senators’ anger
On September 11th, Senators Josh Hawley of Missouri, Ted Cruz of Texas, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, and Mike Braun of Indiana sent a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg criticizing the social-media platform’s recent so-called “fact check” of the pro-life group Live Action with 3 million followers, reports the National Review.
Facebook had claimed that two of Live Action videos were inaccurate when they claimed that abortion is never medically necessary. They labeled the videos “false news.”
The Big Tech site’s allegedly impartial “fact checkers were two abortion advocates — Daniel Grossman, who is on the board of NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation, and Robyn Shickler, a fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health.
Thankfully, by 7:30pm that night, Senator Hawley tweeted, “Am pleased to say that Facebook has informed my office this evening that they will RESTORE the Live Action and Lila Rose posts.”
(Dr. Ingrid Skop, a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist for 22 years, authored the “Top 10 Myths About Abortion” in which she addressed this issue in Myth #4.)
NYC Council repeals 2-year ban on “gay conversion therapy”
And finally, in a surprising move, the New York City Council is planning to repeal a two-year-old ban on so-called homosexual conversion therapy to avoid a costly uphill legal fight, reports the Christian Post. The governmental body had objected to the idea of counselors helping their voluntary patients, who are experiencing unwanted same-sex attraction, reject that sinful temptation.
(The New York Times reports that the city’s openly homosexual Council Speaker Corey Johnson introduced a bill on Thursday to repeal a measure passed in 2017 banning the sale of “services intended to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.”
With a conservative-leaning U.S. Supreme Court makeup, Johnson doesn’t seem to want to let the law be tested in the legal system.)
The city’s ban is being challenged by the conservative religious freedom legal group Alliance Defending Freedom, which has won nine Supreme Court cases in the last seven years.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 declares, “Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral … nor men who have sex with men … will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. … You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
