Muslim kills African Bible translator, cuts wife’s hand off

After Bible translator Angus Fung was hacked to death by a Muslim Fulani herdsman wielding a machete in Cameroon, Africa on August 25th, the terrorists cut off the hand of his wife, Eveline Fung, reports The Christian Post.

While she is stable physically after having received a blood transfusion at a local hospital, Eveline, who has five children ranging in age from 3 to 22, is understandably emotionally traumatized.  Please pray for her physical and emotional healing.

Angus Fung had been working on the New Testament translation into the Aghem language since 2016.

Hurricane Dorian has killed 43 in the Bahamas

Five days after Dorian slammed the Bahamas with 185 mph winds that obliterated 13,000 homes, Health Minister Duane Sands reported late Friday that the official death toll had been raised to 43 from 30, reports the Associated Press.

If you would like to help the people of the Bahamas, please give to Samaritan’s Purse.

Former Obama adviser: Biden is a serial liar

Former Obama adviser David Axelrod said Joe Biden has a regular habit of distorting his own record, reports Slate.com.

Last week, the Washington Post challenged a story Biden frequently tells about pinning a war medal on a Navy captain. The Post found almost every detail was false.

Political commentator Mark Steyn said last week on Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Live” that Biden’s telling of the fact-starved war story was no mere “gaffe”.

STEYN: “This is Biden in top form where he does this vivid, coherent, brilliant narrative in which not a single detail is correct.”

Biden is an habitual breaker of the Ninth Commandment in Exodus 20:16: “You shall not lie.”

Sanders upset that US tax dollars no longer fund foreign abortions

Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, a self-described Democrat Socialist, railed against the Trump administration for ending $100 million of taxpayer-funded abortion businesses overseas and said one of the benefits of abortion is that it reduces the population, reports the Christian Post.

ANDERSON COOPER: “Martha Readyoff is a teacher from New Milford, Connecticut.

READYOFF:  “Human population growth has more than doubled in the past 50 years. The planet cannot sustain this growth. I realize this is a poisonous topic for politicians, but it’s crucial to face.  Empowering women and educating everyone on the need to curb population growth seems a reasonable campaign to enact. Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?”

SANDERS: “Well, the answer is yes. The answer has everything to do with the fact that women in the United States of America, by the way, have a right to control their own bodies and make reproductive decisions. And the Mexico City agreement, which denies American aid to those organizations around the world that allow women to have abortions, or even get involved in birth control, to me is totally absurd. So I think especially in poor countries around the world, where women do not necessarily want to have large numbers of babies, and where they can have the opportunity through birth control to control the number of kids they have something I very, very strongly support.”

Abortion industry executive makes gruesome admissions

Last Thursday, the CEO of StemExpress admitted in court that her biotech company supplies beating fetal hearts and intact fetal heads to medical researchers, reports LifeSiteNews.com.

In a gruesome admission during the preliminary hearing of David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress, who secretly recorded abortion industry personnel, the StemExpress CEO confessed that the baby’s head could be procured attached to the baby’s body or “could be torn away.”

Peter Breen of the Thomas More Society, which is representing Daleiden at the hearing, explained that “If you have a fetus with an intact head and an intact body, and intact extremities, that is something that would indicate that that child was born alive, and then had their organs cut out of them, or that that child was the victim of an illegal partial-birth abortion.”

US Navy SEAL team fires 3 leaders

In an unprecedented move, the three senior leaders of a US Navy SEAL Team were fired by the admiral on September 6th after members of their team were accused of serious discipline breaches, including an alleged sexual assault and drinking while deployed to Iraq, reports CNN.

Former Episcopalian church lost building, $3 million in bank over Biblical worldview

The Falls Church Anglican, a large theologically conservative congregation that broke away from The Episcopal Church in Falls Church, Virginia, officially opened its new sanctuary seven years after losing its original property in a lengthy legal battle with the Bible-rejecting mainline denomination, reports the Christian Post.

Six years ago, after the mainline Episcopal Church ordained an openly practicing homosexual bishop, 90 percent of The Falls Church congregation voted to break with the denomination and align with the conservative branch of the worldwide Anglican church, reported the Gospel Coalition.

It was the Anglican congregation’s firm stance on the authority of God’s word and the moral wrong of homosexuality that cost the 4,000-member church nearly everything they owned.

Not only did Falls Church lose their church building, staff offices, prayer books, sound equipment, and the rectory that had housed the pastor and his wife for 33 years, but a whopping $2.8 million that was in the church accounts at the time of the split.

In a recent video message online,  Rev. Sam Ferguson shared the story of the church’s time in the wilderness.

FERGUSON: “As a church, we were entering into what would be a seven-year season of tabernacling, a season of faithfulness, a season of trusting the Lord. We worshiped at several different local high schools, in a hotel ballroom, in a middle school. Although we never missed a Sunday, we missed having a church home.”

Sadly, the Episcopal church where George Washington once worshiped now belongs to a denomination that accepts and condones practices that would have scandalized the Founding Father—and, more importantly, Our Heavenly Father, noted the GospelCoalition.org.

South Carolinian boy devotes Disney money to Hurricane evacuees

And finally, a 6-year-old boy named Jermaine Bell from South Carolina used the money he’d saved for a trip to Disney World to help Hurricane Dorian evacuees, offering food, water, and prayers to those fleeing the deadly storm, reports the Christian Post.

BEL:  “The people that are traveling to go to places, I wanted them to have some food to eat.”

Bell, who celebrated his 7th birthday yesterday, used money he saved for a birthday trip to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom to buy hundreds of hot dogs, chips, and water for people who were leaving their homes ahead of the storm, reports ABC affiliate  WJBF.

Jermaine stood on the highway holding two handcrafted signs to get the attention of people driving out of the city. In just one day, he served 100 evacuees and has served even more people since then, according to CNN.

BELL: “I wanted to be generous and live to give.”

Acts 20:35 reminds us that “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Myanmar Baptist minister in hot water for talking to Trump

A Baptist minister from Myanmar, Pastor Hkalam Samson, who spoke with President Donald Trump about being “oppressed and tortured by the Myanmar military government” during a visit to the White House could be prosecuted for his comments, reports the Christian Post.

During his 60-second speech, the pastor also thanked Trump for imposing sanctions on four top generals for their role in a campaign against ethnic Muslims and called on the U.S. government to focus on bringing “general democracy and federalism” to his country.

Now, Lt. Col. Than Htike, is seeking to prosecute Samson for his criticism of the country’s military, according to the New York Times.

Persecution watchdog group Open Doors USA ranks Myanmar at No. 18 on its World Watch List of 50 countries where it’s most difficult to be a Christian.

Iran closer to getting nukes

While insisting Iran doesn’t seek a nuclear weapon, Iran said on Saturday that it now uses arrays of advanced centrifuges prohibited by its 2015 nuclear deal and can enrich uranium “much more beyond” current levels to weapons-grade material, taking a third step away from the accord, reports the Associated Press.

The move threatened to push tensions between Iran and the U.S. even higher more than a year after President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew America from the nuclear deal and imposed sanctions now crushing Iran’s economy.

In Paris, U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Iran’s announcement wasn’t a surprise.

GOP presidential contender upset over cancellation of 4 state primaries

Former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois, who is challenging President Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, said Trump was “trying to eliminate elections” on MSNBC, reports Breitbart.

WALSH: “This is not North Korea or Russia. Donald Trump is trying to eliminate elections. He wants to eliminate primary elections, right now in four states — Arizona, Nevada, South Carolina and Kansas. That is undemocratic B.S. It’s wrong, and that’s the kind of thing that should piss off Republican voters.”

A Republican National Committee official pointed to Republicans canceling eight primary contests in 1992 and 10 in 2004, and Democrats scrapping eight primaries and caucuses in 1996 and 10 in 2012, during former President Obama’s re-election campaign.

Another Republican Congressman chooses not to seek re-election

Illinois GOP Rep. John Shimkus announced Friday on the KMOX Mark Reardon Show that he will not run for reelection in 2020.

SHIMKUS: “I will not seek re-election. It has been an honor of my lifetime to be asked by the people of Illinois to represent them in our nation’s capital.

REARDON: “Thanks for making that announcement here on this show because it really does mean a lot to me. The obvious question is why. Why now?”

SHIMKUS: “ I’m tired. This is 23 years.  The last month we’ve been home, I’ve been to 25 different communities. Sometimes I drive three hours to get the parts of my district. My boys are mostly out.”

Shimkus was joined in the KMOX studio by his wife Karen, who says since their three boys are now raised and mostly out of the house, it’s time for a change. Shimkus will serve out his current term through January of 2020.

Black unemployment rate at record low

The unemployment rate for African-Americans fell to the lowest level ever recorded in August, dropping from 6 percent to 5.5 percent, reports Breitbart.com.

A year ago, the black unemployment rate stood at 6.6 percent while the white unemployment rate was 3.4 percent, meaning black unemployment was 185 percent of white unemployment.

The secret motive of Kavanaugh accuser comes out

Republican Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina has called for an investigation of Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh amid evidence she was partly motivated by a desire to overturn the Roe v. Wade. abortion ruling, reports the Washington Times.

Attorney Debra Katz is seen in a video stating Ford came forward to testify to the Senate because she wanted “an asterisk next to [Kavanaugh’s] name” before he rules against the Roe decision.

Blasey Ford, who explained she was reluctant to come forward, accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct more than 30 years ago, but the witnesses she named could not verify her story. Kavanaugh strongly denied her claims.

Texas Republicans sounding alarm about state turning blue

Texas Republicans are sounding the alarm as Democratic presidential candidates get ready for their debate next week in Houston, warning that the Lone Star State could become more purple if the party doesn’t treat it as a 2020 battleground, reports TheHill.com.

Five House Republicans have retired, including three in seats targeted by Democrats. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates them as either toss-ups or lean Democratic.

GOP support is eroding in the suburbs surrounding Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio, four of the nation’s largest and fastest growing metro areas

A Democrat has not won statewide in Texas since 1994, the longest such streak in the nation. But Trump won Texas by only 9 points in 2016, the worst showing for a Republican presidential candidate in 20 years. Jimmy Carter in 1976 was the last Democratic presidential nominee to win the state.

GOP Reps. Michael McCaul, Chip Roy and John Carter face tough re-election battles.

A tossup special election in North Carolina tomorrow is shaping up as a pre-2020 test of President Donald Trump’s pull on voters and whether the suburbs are continuing the flight from Republicans that fueled the party’s 2018 House election losses, reports the Associated Press.

The Democrat in that race, former Marine and Harvard MBA Dan McCready, is running again, portraying himself as a centrist who puts “country over party” and opposes impeaching Trump. His opponent, Republican state senator and attorney Dan Bishop, is a Trump loyalist who sponsored the state’s now-repealed 2016 law restricting the use of bathrooms by transgender people.

Florida pastor: Today’s church is influenced by the world

H.B. Charles Jr., the pastor of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, is highlighting the dangers of today’s “idolatrous” celebrity pastor culture, warning that “in leaning over to reach the world, the Church is falling in”, reports the Christian Post.

“There is the temptation for the Church to be influenced by the world and not the other way around. As a result, entertainment-driven worship can infiltrate the local church. And entertainment-driven worship has a byproduct of producing celebrities in those who sing and those who teach and those who lead. …This is idolatrous because they rival Christ in our affections.”

Pastor Charles said, “We need to build safeguards around the Church so that the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ are central. Every element of a worship service must be geared around the Word of God so that we sing the Scriptures, read the Scriptures, pray the Scriptures, preach the Scriptures and enact the Scriptures in prayer and the ministry of the word.”

American Airlines mechanic sabotaged plane

An American Airlines mechanic allegedly sabotaged a plane, reports the Associated Press.

Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani appeared in federal court in Miami on Friday on a charge of willfully damaging or disabling a plane. Federal investigators say he admitted to tampering with a part that provides vital flight information to pilots.

The pilots aborted the July 17 flight before takeoff in Miami. Alani, 60, was arrested Thursday. He had worked for American since 1988 but was suspended after his arrest.

Pro-aborts deface pro-life billboard in Chicago

Pro-lifers in North Chicago paid for a massive billboard with an image of a most beautiful baby on Ashland Avenue that has been vandalized by the pro-aborts, reports LifeSiteNews.com.

The caption on the billboard reads: “A baby is a baby! Born and unborn.”  Other text explains that there is a heartbeat 18 days from conception.

With black paint, the baby-hating vandals sprayed the words  “My body, my choice” across the baby’s beautiful face.

Ironically enough, this baby has her own “body” and that she is not the mother’s “body.” The baby has her own brain, heart, DNA that is completely distinct from those of the mother. In fact, the mother and baby may have different blood types.

GOP candidate says no to Down syndrome drag show

Controversy has erupted in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a Republican congressional candidate named Peter Meijer prohibited a venue he owns from being used to host a drag show featuring performers with Down syndrome, reports the Christian Post.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Meijer explained that he barred the exhibition from his venue because the performers’ “ability to act of their own volition is unclear” and that he did not know if they “are giving, or in a position to give, full and informed consent” to participate in a drag show.

Lifelong Grand Rapids Nancy Krommendyk said, “I was horrified. They are all such innocent, beautiful, precious, loving, child-like people. And to see them put on stage to be shown in a sexualized manner when, while I know they may enjoy the attention they receive, in my heart I know they can’t fully comprehend it because of their cognitive and intellectual limitations.”

LifePetition which was launched Wednesday calling for the cancelation of the event has garnered over 4,000 signatures.

Former Major League Baseball star offers help to the fragile

Former Major League Baseball all-star Paul Byrd and his wife Kym are providing a space that allows people in the Atlanta area with any number of emotional, mental or relationship struggles overcome them by spending time with horses, reports the Christian Post.

The cross vs. the trap of sexual sin

Why does there seem to be so much sexual sin on the part of modern-day “Christians?” That was a question posted by an evangelist named Nolan Harkness at the Christian Post.

The “modern gospel” has no cross, no repentance in seeking forgiveness of sin, and no teachings about putting the old nature to death in order to follow Christ .  The avoidance of sexual sin has never comprised any part of their ‘conversion.’

Galatians 2:20 declares, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
