God Saves Christian Pastor in India from Hundreds of Hindu Extremists
A former Hindu, now Christian pastor named John Lakra, and his wife were on the way to the hospital in Odisha state, India at about 7:00 p.m. on October 23rd taking their 18-month-old baby in for emergency treatment when hundreds of Hindu extremists surrounded his car, hurling stones at them and hitting the windows with rods, reports Morning Star News.
Pastor Lakra said, “They pulled me out of the car, slapped and beat me black and blue. They ripped off my clothes. Not a single part of my body was left unstruck.”
After throwing him onto the road and kicking him, they picked him up and forced him onto a motorcycle. With hundreds following, they took him to a Durga idol and forced him to kneel before it even as they continued beating him.
Pastor Lakra said, “Then they poured a gallon of petrol on me. Right there, I was praying in my heart. I said, ‘Lord! I submit myself to you. May this bring Glory only to You.’ While I was praying, I was so moved by the Holy Spirit. … After they poured petrol on me, miraculously there was a blackout [power out]. And within minutes, police reached the spot and rescued me.”
James 5:16 declares that “the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

Graham noted, “Trump has admitted his faults and has apologized to his wife and his daughter for things he has done. And he has to stand before God for those things. I never said he was the best example of the Christian faith. He defends the faith. And I appreciate that very much.”

UK Prime Minister Theresa May Blocked Asia Bibi’s Asylum
As Christian mother Asia Bibi continues to plead for asylum in the West from Pakistan, it has been reported that UK Prime Minister Theresa May “blocked” a request for the embattled woman to be granted refugee status in Britain, reports FaithWire.com.
Last month, Bibi was acquitted by Pakistan’s Supreme Court after being convicted on bogus blasphemy charges and sentenced to death. Since her release, Bibi has been held under armed guard at an undisclosed location in Islamabad. Meanwhile, her family has been campaigning on her behalf in order to secure safe passage to a nation where she will be free to practice her religion without fear of persecution.
American-Canadian Evangelist Denied Re-Entry to Turkey
International Christian Concern has learned that on November 20th, American-Canadian evangelist David Byle was denied re-entry into Turkey.
Byle was previously arrested and detained on October 13, the day after American pastor Andrew Brunson was released from prison. Following his detainment, Byle was informed that he had 15 days to leave the country. He was told that a re-entry ban would not be issued, and his family remained in Turkey.
Last week, Byle returned to Istanbul, explaining, “I flew from Stuttgart to Istanbul, hoping and praying I’d be allowed into the country. At the passport control, …my fears were proven true: an entry ban, and not a 3-month or one-year ban, but a permanent one.”
Claire Evans, ICC’s Regional Manager, said, “Turkey is making it increasingly clear that there is no room for Christianity, even though the constitution states otherwise. It is no coincidence that Turkey decided to initiate this process the day after Brunson’s release from prison and that, in doing so, the authorities ignored a court order. We must keep the Byle family in our prayers during this period of difficult separation.”
8 Chinese Christian Leaders Object to Communist Oppression
A group of eight Chinese Christian leaders from the Diocese of Datong issued an open letter addressing the governing authorities concerning their lack of religious freedom and denouncing the oppression towards Christianity in China, reports International Christian Concern.
A section of the letter stated: “What is worthy of our concern is the freedom of religion since it is a fundamental human right, that cannot be violated, forbidden or taken away. … As a community of believers, we are even more concerned with the freedom of speech, since it cannot be separated from freedom of religion: without one there cannot be the other!”
The letter was written in light of the new regulations on religious activities. In the last year, the number of churches closed and crosses destroyed has increased.

The Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport tweeted an image of an empty chair captioned “Where is Mark Zuckerberg?” after Facebook sent its vice president of policy solutions Richard Allan instead of its top executive.
While Zuckerberg answered questions during U.S. congressional hearings in April, he has repeatedly refused to appear before U.K. lawmakers.

President Trump tweeted, “Very disappointed with General Motors and their CEO, Mary Barra, for closing plants in Ohio, Michigan and Maryland. Nothing being closed in Mexico & China. The U.S. saved General Motors, and this is the THANKS we get! We are now looking at cutting all @GM subsidies, including … for electric cars.”
Trump has repeatedly pressured American companies who consider shutting down facilities or moving operations overseas after he pledged to revive U.S. manufacturing.

He rejected the offer, saying that he would not plead guilty to a crime he did not commit.
Barack Obama Cannot Make Good on Volt Promise
Six years ago, President Barack Obama promised to buy a Chevy Volt after his presidency, reports Breitbart.com.
To a cheering crowd of United Auto Workers activists, Obama announced, “I got to get inside a brand-new Chevy Volt fresh off the line. Five years from now when I’m not president anymore, I’ll buy one and drive it myself.”
Now it looks like Obama will not get his chance to make good on the promise. General Motors announced Monday that it would cease production of the hybrid electric plug-in Volt.

Two days before Thanksgiving, the principal at Fairfax, Virginia’s Westfield High School introduced a new program to encourage students to learn the Pledge of Allegiance in different languages.
A week later, the principal reportedly canceled the program and apologized to students for the “offensive” idea, according to Stephanie Somers, mother of a senior at the school.
Somers asked, “What is the harm in saying the Pledge of Allegiance in many different languages to make everyone feel it, love it and know it? I don’t understand.”
