Trump Explains His Zero Tolerance for Illegals
Yesterday, President Donald Trump restated his support for his administration’s policy of separating illegal families at the U.S. border, calling Democrats “the problem”, reports TheHill.com.
Trump tweeted, “We must always arrest people coming into our country illegally. Of the 12,000 children, 10,000 are being sent by their parents on a very dangerous trip, and only 2,000 are with their parents, many of whom have tried to enter our country illegally on numerous occasions.”
“Democrats are the problem. They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our country, like MS-13. They can’t win on their terrible policies, so they view them as potential voters!”
Dallas Paper, Mayor Frown on “America a Christian Nation” Billboard
Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas told radio talk show host Todd Starnes that billboards his congregation sponsored calling America a Christian nation were taken down because the company, Outfront Media, called them too “divisive”, reports Christian Headlines.
The billboards referenced the church’s name, the date of the sermon, June 24th, and the sermon title, “America is a Christian Nation.” It also included a picture of the pastor and the service times.
In a statement, Outfront Media confessed, “Someone called our corporate office in New York about the ‘offensive’ billboards and following our lawyer’s advice, we have to take them down ASAP.” Plus, the Dallas Morning News and Democrat Mayor Mike Rawlings objected.
In God’s providence, another billboard company stepped up and agreed to carry the church’s message on 20 billboards instead of the original two.
Perhaps Pastor Jeffress is asking the same question found in Galatians 4:16 of the culture: “So have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?”
Christian Music Teacher Fired over Transgender Policy
John Kluge, a Christian music teacher at Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana, was forced to either resign or be fired because he refused to use the transgender students’ opposite sex names.
Kluge said, “I really care about kids and I don’t want to do any harm to them. I was talking to my pastor about the scenario of calling a student by an opposite sex name and what harm I believe that would do to them. I remember breaking down and weeping at that scenario. I cannot in good conscience do what I believe will cause harm.”
Heretical Pastor Rob Bell Still Denies Hell
Controversial former megachurch pastor Rob Bell has admitted in a new interview that he never felt comfortable in an evangelical environment, and accused evangelicals of showing their real values by largely supporting President Donald Trump, reports The Christian Post.
Bell, who formerly led Mars Hill Bible Church in Michigan, before attracting controversy for supporting sodomite marriage and for his 2011 book Love Wins which questioned the existence of Hell, told The Church Times that the label of “heretic”has become somewhat of a badge of honor for him.
Bell said that “there is a religion way more sacred to people than anything involving God, Jesus, the Bible — and that is America.”
Bell alleged that “It was never about the grace, compassion, solidarity, non-violence of the Jesus path. It was about protecting a particular 21st century, free-market, capitalist vision for the world. And that thing had been masquerading as Jesus for a long time, and it revealed its corrupt, stained soul.”
Dr. Albert Mohler, Jr., president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said that Bell “alienates love from justice and holiness.”
In Matthew 23:23, Jesus underscores the reality of hell when He asked this question of the Jewish leaders. “Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?”
Teacher Carries Student with Cerebral Palsy on Camping Trip
And finally, a teacher named Helma Wardenaar was heartbroken to hear that her 10-year-old student, Maggie Vasquez, who has cerebral palsy, was unable to go on the class’ three-day camping trip. Maggie’s walker would be unable to maneuver the rough terrain of the wilderness, reports People Magazine.
So, the teacher from The Academy for Global Citizenship in Chicago, Illinois bought a special $300 harness in order to carry the 60-pound student on her back.
The teacher said, “It was kind of heavy, but I’m strong and didn’t want to give up. Whenever I had moments when I was tired or huffing and puffing, she would sing songs or say positive words to me.”

Most Irish Doctors Will Not Do Abortions
Nearly seven in ten doctors in the Republic of Ireland do not intend to carry out abortions, according to a new survey, reports The Christian Institute.
Last month Ireland voted to repeal key constitutional protections for the right to life of the unborn child. And now the Irish government is expected to rush through legislation to allow for the murder of babies during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy.
1,000 People Injured or Killed in European Terrorist Attacks
According to a new Heritage Foundation report published Monday, nearly 1,000 people were injured or killed in terrorist attacks involving refugees over a four-year span in Europe, with Germany facing the highest number of terror plots.
Data collected from the 194 terrorist plots detected across Europe between January 2014 and December 2017 point to a more than one-in-three chance that Germany will be the country targeted in future terror schemes, reports the Washington Free Beacon. France was the second most targeted country, with Belgium and the United Kingdom trailing closely behind.
Senator Ted Cruz: Time to End policy of Separating Illegal Families
Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has announced that he is introducing emergency legislation entitled “Protect Kids and Parents Act” to end federal policy of family separation for illegal aliens, reports The Christian Post.
His legislation would double the number of federal immigration judges, create new temporary shelters to keep families together, and mandate that undocumented families be kept together.
According to a Quinnipiac poll released Monday, while 66 percent of Americans oppose the separation policy, 55 percent of registered Republicans support it.
Most Americans Cannot Discern Fact from Opinion
Only a quarter of U.S. adults in a recent survey could fully identify factual statements – as opposed to opinion – in news stories, the Pew Research Center found in a study, reports Reuters.
Participants were given five factual statements such as “spending on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid make up the largest portion of the U.S. federal budget,” and five opinion statements such as “democracy is the greatest form of government.” They were asked to identify which ones were factual and which were opinions.
Time to Take a Second Look at Definition of “Brain Dead”
50 years ago, an ad hoc Harvard Medical School committee declared that patients in an “irreversible coma” were dead from a legal and ethical point of view. By irreversible coma, the committee had in mind “comatose individuals who have no discernible central nervous system activity”, reports Life News.
The criterion was rapidly enshrined in law around the US and, indeed, the globe, and it became the most common standard by which vital organ procurement and the withdrawal of treatment were regulated.
Yet 50 years later, the brain death criterion for death is under intense criticism, with several high profile legal cases in the US calling into question the claim that brain dead patients are really dead according to two recent Journal of American Medical Association articles.
Go to Church? You’ll Sleep Better
A new study by the University of Texas at San Antonio has found that people who attend religious services and pray frequently tend to sleep better than their less religious counterparts, reports Sleep Health: Journal of the National Sleep Foundation.
The study acknowledges that religion could “decrease psychological distress, substance abuse and stress exposure, which are all associated with sleep outcomes.”
Plus, married couples who attend church services together are more likely to live longer, are less likely to be depressed, and less likely to get divorced, found a 2016 study, titled “Religion and Health: A Synthesis,” conducted by Tyler VanderWeele, a professor Harvard School of Public Health.
