Nigerian President at White House
President Donald Trump met with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari at the White House yesterday.
Open Doors, the advocacy group monitoring Christian persecution, called on Trump to press the issue of the Muslim murder of thousands of Christians in northern Nigeria. Open Doors reports that the Fulani tribesmen have killed exactly 497 Christians over the last four months.
Algeria Joins Rwanda in Closing Churches
First came our report yesterday that the government of Rwanda, Africa is closing down churches. And now CBN reports that the Algerian government has closed four Christian churches recently.
Mohamed Aissa, Algeria’s minister of religious affairs, said the buildings “did not meet the standards required of a place of worship.” Christians make up about 0.2% of the population of Algeria.
In addition, the government of Kenya is burning down churches in Laikipia about 75 miles north of Nairobi. The security officers were also seen robbing the churches and carrying off livestock, according to a report from Citizen TV.
Ephesians 6:12-18 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Pray with all supplication and perseverance for all saints!”
Ex-Homosexuals to March on Washington
A group of repentant men and women, who used to identify with the LGBT movement, will be gathering this Saturday, May 5th at the National Sylvan Theater in Washington, DC for a worship event and a march.
It’s called the Freedom March for those who are experiencing freedom in Christ from sin.
Luis Javier Ruiz, a young man planning to attend the event, narrowly missed getting shot at the mass shooting at a homosexual bar in Florida two years ago, where 49 people were killed. Ruiz is now a repentant follower of Jesus Christ, and he said on his Facebook page, “I should have been number 50.” As he looked back on old pictures of the night at the Pulse homosexual bar, it brought back for him memories of his “struggles of perversion, heavy drinking to drown out everything and having promiscuous sex that led to HIV. My struggles were real! The enemy had its grip and now God has taken me from that moment and has given me Christ Jesus.”
1 Corinthians 6:10 tells us, “Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality. . .will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
Fire Walking Can Be Dangerous
Fire walking turns out not to be mind over matter, as it is presented in the Hindu tradition.
A Hindu priest fell onto the coals, while fire walking in Karnataka, India. He sustained burns over 60% of his legs according to South West News Service.
Generally, professional fire walkers do not keep their feet in contact with the ground long enough for the coals to conduct enough heat to cause a burn.
Avengers: Infinity Wars Surpasses Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War broke national and international records at the movie box office over the last weekend — capturing $641 million in the global market.
This comes on the heels of the Black Panther movie which was the top-grossing superhero movie of all time.
Ireland on Verge of Approving Abortion
The times are a-changing in Ireland, the last pro-life nation in the Western world.
Back in 1982, the Irish voted to include a ban on abortion by a vote of 67% to 33%. In four weeks, Irish voters will consider a new referendum intending to legalize abortion.
The latest Red-C poll indicates that 53% of voters are in favor of abortion to 26% remaining pro-life. The two major parties — Sinn Fein and Labour — have officially endorsed the pro-abortion vote.
Former Abortion Mill Destroyed
Praise God! An old dilapidated building previously used to abort children in Fargo, North Dakota will be demolished. The clinic was used to kill at least 20,000 babies over about 20 years.
Another abortion business is now active in Fargo, according to Life News.
Brazilian Surfer’s Guinness Record
And finally, in God’s sovereign providence, a Brazilian surfer named Rodrigo Koxa broke the world surfing record, riding a powerful 80-foot-tall wave in Nazare, Portugal last November.
According to the Associated Press, Koxa captured the Guinness Book of World Record, beating out America’s Garrett McNamara’s record by two feet. It’s anyone’s guess how they measured the wave!
