Blasphemously Named Ice Cream Prompts Christian Petition
Christians in Canada and America are pushing for a boycott of a new ice-cream called “Sweet Jesus.”
In advertisements, the ice cream company admits that they are taking the name of the Lord in vain. Life Site News has collected over 2,000 signatures on their petition protesting the brand name. The company has outlets in the Washington Baltimore Airport and the Minnesota Mall of America.
Exodus 20:7 declares, “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain, for the Lord shall not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

She was caught criticizing transgendering on Twitter. A British mother of four, Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshulla, received a visit from a police constable and a hate crime officer for her critical tweets of transgender procedures implemented on children.
The police obtained contact information from Twitter and initiated the investigation on Minshulla’s thought crimes. She faces possible charges of nuisance, disrupting public order, malicious communication, and conspiracy, according to World Magazine.

Ten Commandments in Alabama
The Alabama state government has approved a bill which proposes an amendment to the state constitution allowing the public display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings.
The amendment must be approved first by Alabama voters. However, the Ten Commandments would have to be displayed only as an historical or educational symbol, not as bearing any authority from God.
Utah Abortionist Cuts Babies’ Vocal Chords
I thought I had heard the depth of the depravity of the abortion industry until this next story.
An OB-GYN doctor and abortionist from Salt Lake City, Utah acknowledged on her Facebook account last week that she performs abortions by cutting the babies’ vocal chords first so there’s “no opportunity” for the baby to scream.
Dr. Leah Torres later deleted the post, but did not apologize for it.
Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul Vote Against Planned Parenthood-Funding Bill
Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas tweeted why he voted against the $1.3 trillion budget bill last week, saying, “It continues to fund Planned Parenthood, a corrupt organization whose horrifying abortion practices should preclude it from receiving taxpayer dollars.”
Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky cited the same reason in his opposition to the bill.
Exodus 22:22-24 contains a message to the nation: “You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.”
I Can Only Imagine and Paul, Apostle of Christ Doing Well
The Christian film based on the Mercy Me standard, I Can Only Imagine, held out at the third position at the box office in its second week. The film has grossed $38 million thus far on a $7 million production budget.
Also, over the weekend, the newly released film, Paul, Apostle of Christ, grossed about $5 million at the box office. Movie Guide called it “a must-see, soul-stirring movie for mature audiences with a strong Christian, biblical worldview.”

Crazy Californian Believes Earth Is Flat
And finally, the flat earth rocket man, Mike Hughes, from Amboy, California successfully launched his first self-manned rocket some 1,875 feet in the air over the weekend.
He’s a little bruised from the descent, but is otherwise raring to go on his next project. Using self-designed and self-manned rocket ships, Hughes plans to prove that the earth is flat. He modified a motorhome as a rocket launcher for the launch on Saturday, according to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Special Report: Christian Ministry Brings Hope to Families in the Philippines
Time now for a World View Special Report by Emily Swanson.
By Emily Swanson
Threads of Hope is a ministry that provides hope in God and His goodness for many families in the Philippines whose children are at risk of child prostitution and exploitation.
The World View gave a sneak peak of their story a month ago. Today, we have the full story from Stephen Gruber, the marketing director.
It all began with one hundred dollars worth of bracelets. The founder of Threads of Hope, Alex Kuhlow, started it when he found a family on the beach selling bracelets, trying to keep from having to sell any of their children into prostitution.
“As a means of encouraging this family, Alex asked for one hundred dollars worth of these thread bracelets that Alona’s family made. So when the Kuhlows returned a couple months later, the family gave them 1,300 of these little thread bracelets.”
Gruber said that they brought the bracelets back to a Bible camp and returned with the proceeds for the family.
“When they came back to the States here, these were actually sold at the Lake London Bible Camp here in northern Wisconsin. And then they had returned back to the Philippines with $1,000 that had come from the sale of those 1,300 bracelets.”
Gruber said that they went back and asked for $1,000 worth of bracelets, and that enabled Alona’s family, the original bracelet-making family, to get friends and family to help them make the bracelets.
“So then going back to Alona’s family and saying, ‘Ok, now Alona we’d like $1,000 worth of bracelets.’ And they had, in turn, recruited friends and family, and showed them how to make the bracelets. That really multiplied the benefits to that particular area. And that was really the Genesis of Threads of Hope.”
Gruber said the story of Threads of Hope is so similar to the story of how Jesus multiplied the bread and fish for the feeding of the 5,000.
“Jesus starts with a very small lunch, basically a fish sandwich. And He blessed it. And He fed the multitude. And then there was more leftover besides. Threads of Hope is really that same loaves and fishes story because one hundred dollars in this situation. That was really good income for that family for that month. But God took that and blessed it and grew it. So now over 300 families are being blessed daily with having income and having their physical and their educational and their spiritual needs met.”
Gruber noted that this is a glorious reminder that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He continues to work in miraculous ways.
“If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so the same way that He can take that little bit offered in faith, and multiply it, it’s the same exact thing. That’s what’s just so awesome about it. We’re literally living a Bible story.”
Gruber said that Threads of Hope, for them, is a way of showing a very practical outpouring of the love of Christ Jesus to others.
“We strive to be a very practical demonstration of God’s love to impoverished families. If you’ve been marginalized your entire life and someone comes to you to help, you have to ask yourself some questions. ‘Why are you helping me?’
“‘Well, we’re helping you because we love you.’
“’Why do you love me?’
“‘We love you because God loves you.’
“So the very next question, ‘Why did God love me?’
“And its answer is at the core of the Gospel. There are physical needs to be sure, but they are met through the power of God for His glory.”
Gruber testified that this is how God multiplied His blessings to all of these families that have been marginalized for so long.
“God has taken this $100 and blessed it into this community with the church. We have 1,000 people that will come to church on Sunday morning. There’s also a school there, Aninuan Christian Training School; we’re adding a grade a year.”
Gruber said that they’ve even been able to help people who have had pressing medical needs.
“Some families have had some medical concerns. These folks don’t have medical insurance. There’s no HMO or anything like that to help them. And so God has been able to bless with several surgeries and things like that. Again, all of this loaves and fishes; this $100; the people see this. And it’s because you’re coming to help.”
Gruber said that you have to make sure that physical needs are not the only thing being addressed in this kind of ministry.
“Just giving money; it only solves an immediate physical need. If you just go into a situation and throw money at it, it may help, but it’s only temporary. And if we look at this; the societal impact, or just from a humanitarian aid; and again all of those things exist for water and orphanages and those Christian causes, the ones that Christians give to, they’re very, very important. But if we are not addressing the spiritual needs, all we will have done is made people a little more comfortable on the road that is leading to their destruction.”
Gruber said that the most important thing is bringing the good tidings of the gospel to every nation through these practical ministries.
“It’s very, very important. It says in Psalms; ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the gospel.’ That is really what we’re called to; the Great Commission challenges us as believers to go and make disciples. And we do this in a situation like this by coming right alongside these poor families.”
Jesus gave His disciples this last command in Matthew 28:19-20.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
