Alabama Holds Senate Election Today
This is election day in the state of Alabama. And President Trump is calling Alabama voters by a robocall system, to encourage them to vote for conservative Republican candidate Roy Moore for U.S. Senate.
“President Trump has made his pick in this very important race, and this weekend he’s apparently working the phones there in Alabama, tell us about this.”
“Yeah, voters across the state of Alabama can expect to hear President Trump’s voice on the other end of the line.”
“Hi, this is President Donald Trump, and I need Alabama to go vote for Roy Moore! If Alabama elects liberal Democrat Doug Jones, all our progress will be stopped cold.”
President Trump needs another vote in an already contentious Senate, where at least five Republicans have made up an Anti-Trump contingency. Various polls for the race put it neck and neck, as Judge Roy Moore and Democrat Doug Jones battle it out in the ballot box today.
California Has Suffered Record-Breaking Destruction From Wildfires This Year
There are six wild fires still raging in California, one of which has consumed over 200,000 acres. So far this year, almost 9,000 fires have burned down 1.3 million acres in the state. A total of 10,000 buildings in northern California were destroyed, and now about 1,000 structures with the latest fires in southern California, making this the worst year for fires in California history.
The World View spoke with James Fewell, a sophomore at Moody Bible Institute, located in Pasadena, California.
“When I’m driving home from Pasadena to get back all the way up to Northern California, when I get on the Freeway 210, you can see the smoke on the canyon in the distance.”
Fewell talked about the dry conditions.
“We just got out of a drought. Really, it’s been a pretty dry season of life for the past year in California.”
Beyond the fiery headlines, Fewell mentioned a family he knows who lost everything in the Ventura, California area.
“I actually know a family – the Coles – Ron and Karrie – the Thomas Fire just ripped through their land. They just sold their house and purchased this land in October in hopes to build their dream home. The Thomas Wildfire just ripped through, right north of Oxnard, super close to the coast, on Koeningstein Road. Right now they’re trying to get help from their local church to rebuild what the wildfire kind of destroyed.”
Fewell had two suggestions for what believers across America can do.
“I’d also like to encourage the Christians out there. Right now prayer is something heavily needed for California. These fires are not only just with Ron and Karrie Cole, but really devastating to a lot of other families who are in need. And prayer can really help. You supporting them would be a true blessing.”
California Governor Promotes Homosexuality and Transgenderism
In a related story, earlier this year, California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill that would levy a $1,000 fine and a year in jail against anyone who knowingly uses the wrong pronoun to address a man who wants to play the part of a woman, or vice versa.
Six years ago, the governor signed another bill requiring homosexual training programs for students in California primary schools – the first in the nation.
This has been America’s worst year for fires and hurricanes in recent history.
Jude 1:7 exhorts all New Testament Christians, saying “Don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.”
Australia’s Legalization of Homosexual Faux Marriage Goes Into Effect
Australia’s new “marriage” law went into effect over the weekend, enabling men living in unnatural relations with men to call themselves “married.” The Australian Parliament approved the action on Thursday, with only four members out of 150 voting against it.
Of the Western nations, now only Northern Ireland, Austria, and Italy have failed to officially recognize this violation of God’s laws, although these nations accept what they call “civil unions”.
Federal Appeals Court Requires Transgendered People to Be Allowed in the Military
It looks like the president’s attempts to prevent men who like to dress up like women from joining the military are failing.
A federal appeals court in Washington, DC ruled yesterday that the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces must require these men to enlist and dress up like women even when they are on the battlefield.
1 Corinthians 6:9 asks, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals. . . shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
Two Companies That Trafficked Aborted Baby Body Parts Close Down
The Los Angeles Times reports that two companies that used to trade in baby body parts with Planned Parenthood are now out of business.
The two biotech companies, DV Biologics and DaVinci Biosciences, have agreed to pay $8 million to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for their part in the illegal business.
Hindu Mob Attacks Christians Gathered for Prayer in India
Prayer is powerful. Six hundred Christians in India from the province of Gariaband completed 200 days of prayer and fasting.
However, a mob of Hindu radicals took the opportunity to storm the place of prayer and beat up the men, and harass the women. Asia News reports that some $6,000 of property was destroyed, but, thankfully, nobody was killed.
UK Court Rules in Favor of Street Preacher Arrested When Muslims Complained
The UK’s Crown Court has ruled in favor of an American street preacher who was arrested for using “threatening and discriminatory language.”
Daniel Courney was arrested while preaching in Lincoln after Muslims in the area complained to the authorities. He told Christian Concern: “I came to the United Kingdom with its rich Christian history, to bring back the message of Jesus Christ. The message is a simple one: repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and do not follow false religions.”
