Democratic Senators Band Together to Filibuster Against Neil Gorsuch
Twenty Democratic Senators have now joined with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in supporting a filibuster of the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, reports the Christian Post.
That procedural hurdle requires 60 votes in the 100-seat Senate to allow a confirmation vote by a simple majority. Republicans control the Senate 52-48.
The committee is due to vote next Monday on sending the nomination to the full Senate.
President Trump Plans to Reduce EPA Regulations
President Donald Trump wants to free America’s energy companies from the burdensome and unnecessary regulations implemented by former President Obama.
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt appeared on “Fox & Friends” yesterday morning.
“For the last several years, we’ve had an anti-fossil fuels, anti-growth, anti-jobs type of approach to how we do environmental regulation. … It’s good to see the president coming to the EPA today to set a new course to say, ‘We’re going to be about pro-growth, pro-jobs and pro-environment.’”

Megachurch in Florida Prepares Meals for Refugee Families
In just two days, members at Christ Fellowship, an evangelical megachurch in southeast Florida, prepared over 300,000 meals that will be sent to refugee families displaced by the Islamic State terrorist organization and the ongoing civil war in Syria, reports the Christian Post.
Dr. James Dobson Warns Against Disney’s Homosexual Agenda
Dr. James Dobson is warning parents about the pro-homosexual message that Disney is promoting in their new live action version of “Beauty and the Beast.”
Dobson said, “I am appalled by Disney’s blatant, agenda-driven decision to introduce homosexuality into a children’s classic which originally did not include this theme.
“Do not be deceived: this is not something to be dismissed as trivial. These moves, done in the name of diversity, are an invasion into the intimate role of parenting.

Mennonite Missionary Released from Prison on Parole
Yesterday, we cited the Christian Post report that Timothy Miller, a Mennonite missionary, had been sentenced to a year in prison for his part in helping Lisa, a former lesbian who had become a Christian, to leave the country with her daughter Isabella in 2009.
The judge had indicated that he would turn custody of the girl over to Lisa’s former female partner Janet Jenkins, an active lesbian, if she continued to defy a series of visitation orders. That’s why Timothy helped Lisa and her daughter get to Nicaragua.

Pakistani Police Turn Blind Eye to Murder of Christian Girl
A group is calling for Christians in Pakistan to unite in protest against the apathy of police and courts in the brutal murder of Tania Mariyam, a 12-year-old Christian schoolgirl whose body was found in January in a canal with strange froth in her mouth and ripped trousers, reports the Christian Post.
Last month, police admitted that Mariyam most likely was raped and drugged before she was murdered. But little has been done to investigate the case thus far, according to the British Pakistani Christian Association.
Mariyam’s father said, “The police and courts of Pakistan have failed my beautiful daughter. Their delay may have destroyed any chance of proving she was poisoned.”
Sign the online petition, calling for “a judicial review of alleged willful police negligence.”
Six Aid Workers Murdered in Sudan
Attackers on Saturday ambushed and killed six aid workers and a driver from a South Sudanese nonprofit, the United Nations mission in the country said. The attack comes as famine affects some 100,000 South Sudanese and leaves another one million at risk, reports World Magazine.
The dead included four Sudanese nationals and three Kenyans who worked with the Grass Roots Empowerment for Development Organization.
David Shearer, the UN mission representative, said, “This cold-blooded killing is utterly reprehensible, not least because these aid workers were dedicated to alleviating the ongoing suffering of the people of South Sudan.”
So far, 79 aid workers have died in the conflict, according to the United Nations.
Persecuted Family in Mexico Has New Home
After facing beatings, imprisonment and eventually exile from his home village, Lauro Pérez Núñez and his family are starting a brand new life.
He and his wife Amalia, converts to evangelical Christianity, were first ordered to leave southern Mexico, in 2015, together with their four children, reports World Watch Monitor.
They were told it was because they no longer wanted to belong to the “traditionalist” church, which blends aspects of indigenous paganism and popular Catholicism.
Lauro was imprisoned four times in less than a year, and his cousin Misael was beaten while trying to defend Lauro’s sister from an angry crowd.
After months of living in a small room in the back of a church, they finally have their own home, built with the help of other Christians in a community two and a half hours away where they have started a restaurant called “Manna from Heaven” and their are settling into their new school there.
Girl With Brittle Bone Disorder Thrives After Parents Refused Abortion
Zoe Lush, an adorable six-year-old girl is alive today because her parents, Curtis and Chelsea, refused to take the advice of a doctor to kill their daughter through abortion, reports LiveActionNews.
At 19-weeks gestation, a 4-D ultrasound showed that there was something wrong with Zoe. The father wrote this account on Go Fund Me:
“When the perinatologist gently pressed the wand down firmly on Chelsea’s belly, Zoe’s soft skull molded from a circle to an oval shape under the pressure of the wand. A closer look revealed further damage. Zoe’s femur was in two separate pieces and many of Zoe’s ribs were in multiple stages of fracture. Zoe’s bones were already breaking in the womb.”
Told that their daughter might not survive until her due date, the distraught parents were offered abortion. Curtis admits that “We actually did contemplate the abortion that [the doctor] was telling us was the only thing that was humane.”
At birth, Zoe was breathing on her own, but fractured her collarbone during birth, and over the course of her first month outside of the womb, she broke both arms, a leg, and then an arm again. She was officially diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type III or Brittle Bone Disorder, a type of dwarfism.
One of the most difficult challenges was something parents do multiple times a day: changing diapers. It took three people to complete the task without Zoe getting hurt.
Though she has broken her bones more than 100 times, and needed surgeries, doctors believe that with good care Zoe will live as successful a life as any of us.
Zoe uses a wheelchair and plays at a park that is accessible. She stands up for herself to ensure that other children don’t accidently hurt her. She participates in occupational and physical therapy as well as speech therapy and is always smiling according to her parents.

They instructed him to “remove any and all videos of this sort from” his account; he had 850 videos on Vimeo at the time, reports the Christian Post.
Foster wrote back:
“You must have the wrong account. We are an award-winning Christian ministry that only posts content that helps people, not hurts them. We never defame anyone. We never incite hatred or depict violence of any kind. Our message has been one of love from start to finish.
“Our videos help sexual abuse victims, people who have been sex trafficked, those who are addicted or in any other condition that causes them distress. It would be a shame to remove the hundreds of videos that help people in very desperate circumstances — some of whom have even claimed to have been prevented from suicide by the messages of hope that we produce.”
Vimeo pointed to their policy against videos that promote Sexual Orientation Change Efforts.
In his column, Dr. Brown wrote, “By this logic, Alcoholics Anonymous would not be welcome on Vimeo, since their videos would be demeaning towards alcoholics, or weight loss videos would not be welcome, because they shame the overweight, or testimonies of effective debt reduction strategies would not be welcome, because they shame those in debt, or testimonies of Christian converts from Islam would not be welcome, because they shame Muslims – just to give a few examples out of thousands.”
Despite David Foster’s valiant attempt to help Vimeo understand his rational argument, on March 24th Vimeo removed all 850 videos and the Pure Passion account was shut down.
Vimeo explained:
“To put it plainly, we don’t believe that homosexuality requires a cure and we don’t allow videos on our platform that espouse this point of view… that discuss homosexuality as a condition requiring healing.”
But if you search for jihad or rape on Vimeo, they quickly provide thousands of selections.

11-Year-Old Girl Suffers Third-Degree Burns from DIY Slime Project
A Do-It-Yourself slime project that has attracted many a tween, led to the second- and third-degree burns on the hands of 11-year-old Kathleen Quinn, reports WCVB-TV.
The Quinns had encouraged their daughter to make the slime seeing it as a welcome distraction to social media and other technology that pre-teens are typically consumed with.
It turns out that Borax One, a key ingredient, is what led to her needing to be rushed to the hospital.
