Names of the Five Officers Killed in Protest
The names of the five police officers killed at the Black Lives Matter protest over the weekend have been released. They are Lorne Ahrens, Michael Kroll, Michael Smith, Brent Thompson, and Patrick Zamarippa. Michael Smith was a member of Watermark Community Church, father of two children in their early teens.
Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist in Dallas, Texas spoke to The World View concerning how Christians should respond to these tragedies. “First of all, as Christians we need to teach exactly what the Bible teaches. And that is, we ought to honor law enforcement authorities. Romans 13:4 says law enforcement authorities are, quote, “ministers of God, sent by God to punish evildoers.” And police officers are just as called by God as pastors are. God has a function for them, and that’s to preserve order in society.”
Pastor Jeffress said that according to Romans 13, police officers are ordained by God to “punish evildoers.”
“…If you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.”
Protests organized by Black Lives Matter are attempting to block freeways and roadways in major cities across the country. According to data from the National Archive of Criminal Justice, the number of justifiable homicides by law enforcement officers has fluctuated between 300 and 450 per year. Between 1976 and 1980, blacks made up about 50% of the recorded justifiable homicides. The Washington Post reports that in 2015, 24% of those shot and killed by police were of African-American descent.
Two Court Bailiffs Killed by Inmate Wielding Gun Wrested from Police Officer
Two court bailiffs were shot and killed at the county Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan yesterday afternoon. Reports indicate an inmate wrested a gun from a police officer, and began shooting. Several others were wounded, and the suspect was killed in the melee.
Nine Christians in the Congo Hacked to Death by Islamist Rebels
In other news, nine Christians were hacked to death in the Congo last week, according to Bos News Life. Rebels from an Islamic group called the Allied Democratic Forces have killed over a thousand Congolese over the last two years, and forcibly displaced another 34,000.
Italian Prime Minister Commits to Tackle Racism After Nigerian Man Beaten into Coma
NBC News and the Associated Press tell the touching story of 36-year-old Emmanuel Namdi, a Nigerian Christian who escaped to Italy after witnessing Muslim terrorists kill his parents and his daughter at church. Emmanuel and his wife Chinyeri were in Fermo, Italy where he encountered racist violence. When he objected to his wife being called a “monkey” in Italy, Emmanuel was beaten into a coma from which he never awoke. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is committing to tackle racism, after this story gained international attention.
Mega-Church Pastor Dismissed Due to Alcoholism and Marriage Problems
It was the second fasting growing church in America and the largest church in South Carolina with an attendance of 32,000 on Sundays. Now, this Southern Baptist mega-church has dismissed its founding pastor Perry Noble under charges of “alcoholism and a terrible marriage” according to the Christian Post. In an official announcement, the New Spring Church leaders said they had followed the Matthew 18 directives, and Pastor Noble “chose not to properly address these ongoing issues. . . or take the necessary steps to correct them.” Noble’s dismissal follows in a recent series of high-profile resignations of young pastors from large mega-churches, including Mark Driscoll, C.J. Mahaney, Tullian Tchividjian, Darrin Patrick, and David Loveless.

United Reformed Church Accepts Homosexual Marriage
The United Reformed Church of the UK voted to accept homosexual marriage by an overwhelming majority. The URC is the third largest denomination in England, and the largest religious organization to officially approve of this particular sin.
Over Half of Americans Disagree with Decision Not to Charge Hillary Clinton
56% of Americans disagree with the FBI’s decision not to charge Hillary Clinton with a crime for her handling of security issues as Secretary of State. The Washington Post/ABC news poll found 30% of Democrats and 90% of Republicans disappointed with the decision.
Ken Ham Gives Bill Nye a Tour of the Ark Encounter
And, Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, gave his former debate opponent the VIP treatment at the Ark Encounter last Friday. Bill Nye, the Science Guy, toured the real-life Ark replica near Cincinnati, in what Ken Ham called an “amicable visit.” Ken said he was able to witness the Gospel and pray with Bill Nye, nationally known to be both an evolutionist and an atheist.

US Government Does Not Want to Help Iraqi Christians
Nina Shea, one of the speakers at the International Christian Concern Conference said that the U.S. Government does not want to help Iraqi Christians, because it is afraid of turning into a “crusader army.” Shea also spoke on the US government’s growing lack of interest towards Christian persecution around the world.
Police Searching for Three Missing Boys in Wisconsin
Three boys went missing in Dodge County, Wisconsin on Monday. After their bikes were found, the police department has launched a search for the boys, hoping that the boys didn’t find their way into the nearby abandoned iron mine.
Syrian Muslim Refugee Arrested for Inappropriately Touching Girl at Swimming Pool
In Lowell, Massachusetts, a 22-year-old Syrian Muslim refugee named Emad Hasso was arrested last Thursday after being accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl at a public swimming pool. Hasso has been in the United States only two months reports WorldNetDaily.com. The man approached her, touched her upper thigh and asked her age. The girl told him “I’m a little kid, leave me alone” and walked away.
Ugandan Homosexuals Accuse American Pastor of “Crimes Against Humanity”
WorldNetDaily.com reports that a coalition of Ugandan homosexuals called SMUG, or Sexual Minorities of Uganda, has accused Pastor Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries in Springfield, Massachusetts of alleged “crimes against humanity” that are forbidden under international law. Liberty Counsel submitted nearly 200 pages of evidence, arguing there were no “crimes against humanity,” no violations of “international law,” and no conspiracies or plans to persecute homosexuals in any of his statements made during three visits by Lively to Uganda in 2002 and 2009. Mat Staver, chairman of Liberty Counsel, said that the group is “trying to punish a U.S. citizen for constitutionally protected speech under some vague and undefined international law. This case is a direct assault on the supremacy of the United States Constitution.”
Obama Wants More Federal Control of Police
President Barack Obama is pushing for more federal oversight of cops after two black citizens were killed by police officers and a black sniper killed 5 Dallas cops, injuring another 7, reported Breitbart. The specifics are detailed in the “President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing Report,” published in May, which grew out of a panel Obama selected after the 2014 street riots in Ferguson, Missouri. The report urges the federal government to federalize police training and practices, via the use of federal lawsuits, grants and threats to cut federal aid. So far, Obama’s deputies have cajoled and sued more than 30 police jurisdictions to adopt federal rules in a slow-motion creation of a national police system.
