Austria set to lockdown the unvaccinated
Austria’s government is likely to impose a lockdown on people who are not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus as daily infections have surged to record levels, reports Reuters.
Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg did not say when the lockdown would take effect, but the two provinces hardest-hit by this wave of infections, Upper Austria and Salzburg, will introduce the measure for themselves today.
Roughly 65% of Austria’s population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, one of the lowest rates in Western Europe. Many Austrians are skeptical about the COVID shot, a view encouraged by the conservative Freedom Party, the third-biggest in parliament.
CNN’s Dana Bash to Virginia Sen: “Are Democrats Too Woke?”
On Sunday’s CNN program “State of the Union,” a week ago, Dana Bash asked Virginia Democratic Senator Mark Warner about James Carville’s thesis that “stupid wokeness” in the Democrat Party is responsible for Terry McAuliffe’s loss in the Virginia gubernatorial election.
BASH: “I want you to listen to what Democratic strategist James Carville had to say about what he thinks went wrong for Democrats.”
CARVILLE: “Stupid wokeness. I mean, this ‘defund the police’ lunacy, this ‘take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools.’ I mean, people see that, and it has a suppressive effect all across the country. And Democrats, some of these people, need to go to a ‘woke detox center’ or something.”
BASH: “Are Democrats too woke, Senator?”
WARNER: “Listen, I don’t support defund the police. Matter of fact, I think you’ve saw Democrats all around who were successful. The new mayor of New York, you’re going to have on has talked about investing additionally in our police forces. Are there ways that we need to make that policing more community based? Absolutely!”
Send Gov. Ron DeSantis’ wife Casey get well card for breast cancer
We are all grateful for Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’ voice for freedom from COVID-shot mandates, school closures, and business shutdowns. He is a hero for standing up against President Biden’s totalitarian decrees.
Sadly, his beloved wife, Casey, to whom he has been married for 11 years, has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Pray for her complete healing.
Matthew 21:22 says, “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Join me, and please send her a get well card to: Casey DeSantis, State of Florida, The Capitol, 400 S. Monroe St., Tallahassee, FL 32399-0001. Encourage your little ones to draw or color a picture for Mrs. DeSantis which you can include. In fact, please email me at Adam@TheWorldview.com to let me know that you sent a card. I hope you are one of at least 15 people to take the time to do so.
And if you would prefer to send her an email, we have that linked in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. (Send it to her at GovernorRon.Desantis@eog.myflorida.com with the subject line: “Get Well prayers for Casey.” You can Bcc me at Adam@TheWorldview.com.) I know our prayers and heart-felt outreach would mean the world to her right now.
John MacArthur: “Zoom church is not church”
And finally, streaming church services may be growing in popularity, but Pastor John MacArthur cautions that they must not replace in-person services because they, by definition, cannot fulfill the New Testament’s commands for Christians, reports Christian Headlines.
During a question-and-answer session in late October, MacArthur made these remarks at Grace Community Church in California.
MACARTHUR: “Zoom church is not church. It’s not church. It’s watching TV. There’s nothing about that that fulfills the biblical definition of coming together, stimulating one another to love and good works, singing, sitting under the Word of God, praying together, being led by those who preach the Word. and open the Scripture.
“The definition of a church is crystal clear in the New Testament. We see the picture of it. They came together on the first day of the week. They worshipped the Lord. They prayed. It was fellowship, and it was the breaking of bread in the Lord’s Supper. So, the church is defined clearly. And it’s the communion of the saints. It’s fellowship, it’s partnership.”
And MacArthur offered this warning.
MACARTHUR: “I think you’re in violation of the whole intent of the Lord and how He wants His people to work together, if you’re not fully involved in a church — under the leadership and headship of pastors, to whom you have given your life to be cared for, instructed, loved, nurtured, and to whom you owe some accountability.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 says,” And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
