Canadian Parliament passes anti-Bible bill

Sadly, Canada’s Parliament passed the anti-Bible bill.

LifeSiteNews.com reports that a final attempt to stop Bill C-9 was defeated. The bill, which threatens to criminalize quoting parts of the Bible, including on homosexuality, will soon become law.

On Wednesday, June 17, a majority of Members of Parliament voted down an attempt by conservative Andrew Lawton to stop Bill C-9 “once and for all.”

In an X post, he wrote, that the liberals “voted down my motion to withdraw the divisive and toxic Bill C-9 to stand up for freedom of expression and freedom of religion.” 

Another conservative Member of Parliament, Brad Redekopp, called the official passage of Bill C-9 a “dark day” for Canada and religious freedom.

The bill was introduced by Justice Minister Sean Fraser last year. Specifically, Bill C-9 would remove Section 319(3)(b) of Canada’s Criminal Code.  That’s the section which protects the good-faith expression of a person’s religious views based on religious texts such as the Holy Bible.

Galatians 6:7 declares, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.”

Proof that Fauci funded lab research that sparked COVID

A trove of communications and documents released by outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard show that Dr. Anthony Fauci “provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research” on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and that Fauci “lied to Congress,” reports LifeSiteNews.com.

In a viral overnight social media video on June 19th already seen by millions, Gabbard made this announcement.

GABBARD: “Before the COVID pandemic, Dr. Fauci, as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, work which is now widely viewed as the source of the unintentional lab leak that sparked the pandemic.

“Now, in support of President Trump's maximum transparency mandate, today, on my final day as Director of National Intelligence, I'm releasing never-before-seen communications and documents that expose exactly how Fauci worked with politicized career leadership in the Intelligence Community to suppress the truth about his actions, the virus's lab leak origins, and his role in directing U.S. funding for this dangerous research that caused immeasurable harm and countless lost lives.

“Now, these documents expose Fauci's direct role in influencing and manipulating [Intelligence Community] assessments on COVID 19, and how Fauci lied to Congress in 2024 when, under oath, he denied knowledge of or participation in discussions with intelligence officials about viral research.”

Dr. Fauci’s close Intelligence Community relationships enabled him to “assume three key roles during the pandemic that shielded him from scrutiny as he wielded outsized influence.”

First, Fauci funded risky coronavirus research linked to Big Pharma and the pursuit of “universal vaccines” worth trillions of dollars.

Second, Fauci was the behind-the-scenes advisor who, with his hand-picked experts, pushed the Intelligence Community to endorse a natural, animal origin to hide his dangerous research.

And third, Fauci became the nation’s pandemic “pundit” and publicly pushed lies, disinformation, and censorship.

GOP Senator: Trump’s peace deal with Iran seemed elusive

Appearing on Fox News Channel on June 17th, Republican Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, expressed his approval of the deal that President Donald Trump negotiated with Iran, reports RealClearPolitics.com.

SCHMITT:  “The president of the United States, President Trump, was very clear from the get-go what the mission here was, which was to ensure that Iran would never have a nuclear weapon. They have no ability to do that. And they're signing on the dotted line now, Sean, for the first time, that they're not going to do that. “And we don't need to trust them. We just need to verify that. Effectively, the president knocked out their military capability. Their Navy is at the bottom of the sea. They have no air defense. Their nuclear program is in shambles. It's nowhere near ever being started up again. And we can always go back and mow the lawn, if necessary, because we've got eyes on it. “The president has provided now, through all of that action, space for diplomacy. That has always been his North Star. There's always more things to do. We need to make sure, obviously, we're verifying all of this. But the president has pulled off something here that most experts, six months ago, wouldn't have thought was possible. And I think it's good for the American people.”

FBI foiled terrorist plot against UFC 250 event at White House

A terror plot targeting the Ultimate Fighting Championship event at the White House on June 14th reportedly involved those who were ready to deploy snipers and drones armed with explosives to carry out a mass casualty attack against U.S. government officials.

In a June 16th statement, FBI Director Kash Patel said his agency and its law enforcement partners became aware of the potential threat on June 10. He confirmed that authorities stopped the alleged plot before it began.

Patel said, "Thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold.

“We are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens — particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight" which drew 85,000 people to the Ellipse.

James Talarico: God is non-binary; Jesus does not call us to worship Him

And finally, James Talarico, the Texas Democrat candidate in the U.S. Senate race against Republican Ken Paxton, has made some bizarre claims about God and Jesus.

And here’s what Talarico said about Jesus.

TALARICO: “Not once in the entire Bible does Jesus ask us to worship Him. All He asks is that we follow Him.”

Pastor Josh Howerton, Senior Pastor of Lakepointe Church in Dallas, Texas, called James Talarico a heretic.

HOWERTON: “The whole last book of the Bible is the Lamb is seated on the throne with more people than anybody can count bowing down and worshiping Him, throwing crowns before Him. And then anybody who won't do that, He's throwing them into the lake of fire.

“This is not me being mean or exaggerating: he's an actual heretic, like a biblically-defined false teacher and heretic.

“Politicians, since the beginning of time, have been twisting Scripture, using Scripture to try to convince people to do what they want. This is the first guy I've ever seen whose whole platform is using the Bible to convince Christians to support godless things.”

Revelation 5:13 says, “Then I heard every creature in Heaven and on Earth and under the Earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

Chinese police raid church during Sunday worship

On June 14th, Communist authorities in southwestern China launched a large-scale raid against Early Rain Covenant Church at 11:00am during its Sunday worship service. They detained dozens of believers, reports ChinaAid.

The church’s worship service, which included families and children, was being held in a hotel conference room in Jiangyou City.

The raid was conducted by 65 Communists including police officers, SWAT personnel, Domestic Security Protection Unit officers, religious affairs officials, and local government reps. They “stormed the venue and forcibly took control of the gathering."

Church leaders said 33 believers were detained during the operation, including two elders, Yan Hong and Wu Wuqing.

Please pray for the detained elders and frightened children and that their faith would overcome their fear.

Psalm 27:3 says, “Though an army encamps against me, my heart shall not fear.”

Vance To Israel: "Wake up" if you think Trump is your biggest problem

On June 12th, President Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with news he did not want to hear: Trump expected to sign a deal with Iran within days, reported Axios.

Trump said, "This is the deal. It's a great deal, and it's time to end this war.”

Four months out from an election, Netanyahu's rivals are accusing him of making Israel a "vassal state" by simply accepting Trump's terms for peace.

Asked about rumblings from Netanyahu’s advisors about the US-Iran peace deal, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke directly on June 18th in the White House Briefing Room, reports RealClearPolitics.com.

VANCE: “You have seen people within Bibi's cabinet who have come out and attacked the deal, and in some ways very personally attacked the President of the United States. My message to them would be two-fold.

“Number one: Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time. And he happens to be the head of state of the world’s superpower. If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.

“The second message I would give to some of those cabinet members in Israel, who are attacking the President of the United States, is that over the last three months, two-thirds of the defensive weapons that have protected your homeland have been built by American hands and paid for by American tax dollars.

“The problem for Israel is not Donald J. Trump!  Anybody in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is the President of the United States needs to wake up and smell the reality of the situation that country is in. Bibi, to his credit, has not gone down this path.”

California town initially approved drag queen at kids playground

And finally, Christians in Oakdale, California were livid. And with good reason.

The foolish Oakdale City Council, in this city of 24,000 people 100 miles outside San Francisco, initially approved a drag queen to emcee and entertain at a homosexual/transgender “pride” event to be held at Dorada children’s park, playground, and swimming pool. It was set to take place on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, June 28th between 10:00am and 2:00pm -- complete with yard games, face painting, and food.

Pastor Jeff Cavanaugh of Calvary Chapel Oakdale was interviewed by the local ABC affiliate.

CAVANAUGH: “We wouldn't have children in a strip club, and to me it's just very similar to that. I just don't think children should be exposed to that.”

And Dan Phipps, an elder at Mountain View Church in Oakdale, alerted his congregation during the service.

PHIPPS: “They're seeking to hold a ‘pride’ event involving adult preferences for sexuality at a kids park. But it gets worse than that. This adult event, at a children's park, is scheduled to have a drag performer as entertainment. This drag performer publicly posts what most would consider explicit content on their social media accounts publicly for everybody to see their intentions.

“To me, it couldn't be more clear. They're targeting our kids. They're planning on exposing children to the perversions and brokenness of this world, and they're parading sinful lifestyles before young and impressionable minds here in Oakdale.”

Phipps urged the congregation to attend the June 15th Oakdale City Council meeting to speak out.

PHIPPS: “Obviously, we're concerned about this. We want to invite you guys to join the [Mountain View Church] leadership at this event, attending the meeting. Demonstrate that there are many people in Oakdale who do not want these types of events promoted to children, seeking to attract children into a lifestyle that is contrary to God and His design.”

The drag queen, who goes by the stage name “Sasha Devaroe,” is David Allen Soria Jr., a homosexual man who is faux married to another man named Larry. He was also interviewed by the Oakdale ABC affiliate.

SORIA: “It’s fear mongering. It's trying to put us back in the closet.”

Soria thought having such an event in Oakdale was important.

SORIA: “A small city like Oakdale can have something like this for community members who may be can't make it to San Francisco.”

Sadly, despite the fact that hundreds of citizens showed up, including many Christians, the Oakdale City Council limited the number of speakers to just ten people.

CHRISTIAN MAN #1: “These predators are no longer satisfied behind closed doors, but demand their sexual perversions be consumed and normalized here in Oakdale. Notice where they want to hold this sexual event: in public, at our most popular children's park, next to the plunge pool, active with kids.

“Keep in mind, this movement is responsible for the sterilization and mutilation of children, and is now openly targeting ours. They advertise on social media their groomers’ desire to hug, play games with, and face paint girls and boys at the park.

“The heritage of our town is under attack, and the very heart and soul of our Cowboy Capital of the World is at stake. We call upon you, our elected representatives, to uphold the traditions of conservative, family-friendly Oakdale that our cattlemen established.”

The final citizen at the podium did not pull any punches.

CHRISTIAN MAN #2: “I just want to let you know that everybody here will stand at the throne [of God] and give an account for what they have and haven't done.”

Romans 14:12 says, "So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God."

To their credit, on June 18th, the Oakdale City Council announced a venue change from the public kids’ park to an indoor, taxpayer-funded venue known as the Bianchi Community Center.

More countries persecute religious citizens

More countries are seeing high levels of social hostilities involving religion. A new Pew Research report found 55 countries recorded high or very high levels of such religious hostilities in 2023. 

That figure has risen three years in a row. Christians faced harassment in the largest number of countries compared to any other religion.

Countries with very high levels of religious hostilities include Bangladesh, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Syria. Most of those countries also rank in the top 10 most oppressive countries for Christians according to Open Doors.

Luke 6:22-23 says, “Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man's sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in Heaven.”

Pro-family charter signed involving 20 of 54 African countries

Lawmakers in Africa gathered for the Fourth African Parliamentary Conference on Family Sovereignty and Values this month in Ghana. 

Attendees represented 20 out of 54 countries across the continent. 

Lawmakers signed a pro-family charter at the conference, reports LifeSiteNews. The charter defends the traditional family and opposes abortion and sexually perverted lifestyles. 

Britain to ban social media for kids

The United Kingdom plans on banning social media for children under 16. 

Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the ban on Monday which will take effect next year.

The U.K. joins other countries putting restrictions on social media use for children. These countries include Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Indonesia.

The U.K. ban will affect platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X.

Bulgarian Christians now allowed to evangelize door-to-door

The European Court of Human Rights ruled to protect door-to-door evangelism last week.

The case began in Bulgaria where the government issued a broad ban on the practice. 

Nicolas Bauer with the European Centre for Law and Justice told EWTN News, “Evangelizing is often viewed with suspicion in a secularized Europe. The European Court of Human Rights ruling reaffirms a basic requirement of religious freedom for believers: the right to the same freedom of expression as everyone else.”

Alabama officials threaten mail-order abortion kill pill providers

In the United States, the state of Alabama issued cease and desist letters to mail order abortion providers last week.

The companies were illegally providing chemical abortion-inducing drugs to residents in the state. 

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall said, “Alabama’s law is clear, abortion is illegal in this state. These companies are not only breaking the law, they are deceiving Alabama consumers about the very real dangers of these drugs. That stops now. Anyone who tries to exploit Alabamians for profit while flouting our laws will be prosecuted to the fullest extent permitted by law.”

Habakkuk 2:9 and 12 says, “Woe to him who covets evil gain for his house, That he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of disaster! … Woe to him who builds a town with bloodshed, who establishes a city by iniquity!"

Elon Musk became Earth’s first trillionaire

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire last week.

His company SpaceX went public on Friday in the biggest initial public offering of all time. His shares in the company at the time were over $766 billion. Combined with his Tesla shares of $280 billion, his net worth pushed past the trillion-dollar mark.

This comes 14 years after Musk crossed the billionaire threshold. 

Gallup: 65% of Americans say religiosity benefits society

And finally, a new Gallup poll found that most Americans still believe religiosity would benefit the United States.

Sixty-five percent of respondents said it would be positive for society if more Americans were religious. But that’s down from 75% back in 2013.

Americans are divided on whether the federal government should promote moral values. Forty-five percent say the government should be involved while 50 percent say it should not be involved. 

Gallup noted, “The poll comes at a time when a Republican presidential administration has sought to elevate the role of religion in public life, including by establishing the White House Office of Faith, beginning government meetings with Christian prayers, and encouraging federal workers to express their faith in the workplace.”

European Christians faced 37 hate crimes in 11 countries

Attacks against Christians in Europe surged last month. A report from the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe documented the incidents. 

Christians faced 37 verified hate crimes in May across 11 European countries. These incidents included arson, vandalism, physical violence, theft, and disruption of worship services. Arson attacks against Christian properties were the highest on record this year.

Germany saw the most anti-Christian hate crimes followed by Italy, France, Poland, and Ireland. 

More Spanish Catholics leaving  the church

A report from the Spanish government found the number of Catholics in the country is falling.

Over 55 percent of the Spanish population identifies as Roman Catholic, down from 90 percent in the 1980s.

Meanwhile, secularism is gaining in the historically Catholic country. Forty percent of the population identifies with no religion.

Catholicism did see gains among young people. Forty-seven percent of people under 25 say they are Catholic, up from 31 percent in 2023.

Oil prices dropped since Trump announced peace deal with Iran

Oil prices fell to the lowest levels since March on Monday. This came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a deal with Iran to end the war between the two countries. 

Prices for Brent crude oil, the global benchmark, fell nearly four percent on Monday. West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices, the benchmark for North America, fell by over five percent.

TRUMP: “I think a lot of great things are going to happen in the Middle East right now. And very importantly, the oil is plummeting down, and the stock market is shooting up like a rocket today, like record kind of numbers.

“The oil has taken its biggest plunge. And we're into the low numbers, not quite back yet, but we're getting close to the numbers we were before it all started. And the main thing is that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. They fully agree to that.”

60 U.S. abortion mills closed since January 2025

Nearly 60 American abortion mills shut down since last January.

The Trump administration withheld federal grant payments from 144 Planned Parenthood locations in 20 states last year.

A report from the pro-abortion Kaiser Family Foundation found that 57 Planned Parenthood locations shut down over the last 18 months. 

Churchgoing kids twice as likely to attend church as adults

The Institute for Family Studies released a report entitled, “Passing The Torch: How Faith Moves Across Generations.”

The study found that children from churchgoing families were twice as likely to attend church as adults compared to children from non-churchgoing families. 

Healthy marriages also contributed to children practicing faith in adulthood.  

Psalm 71:17-18 says, “O God, from my youth You have taught me, and I still proclaim Your wondrous deeds. So, even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim Your might to another generation, Your power to all those to come.”

58 percent approve of out-of-wedlock baby today vs. 70 percent in 2022

A new survey from Gallup found that Americans are becoming more conservative on certain social issues. 

Eighty-three percent of U.S. adults believe birth control is morally acceptable. But that’s down from a high of 92 percent in 2022. Fifty-eight percent believe having a baby outside of marriage is acceptable, down from 70 percent in 2022. And 49 percent support abortion, down from a high of 54 percent in 2024.

German and Curaçao World Cup soccer players prayed together

And finally, a recent World Cup game ended with players praying together on the pitch. 

Over the weekend, the German national football team faced off against the team from Curaçao. The island nation in the Caribbean is the smallest nation to qualify for the World Cup. 

Germany won handily with a score of seven to one. But that didn’t stop players from both teams huddling together to pray after the game. 

German midfielder Felix Nmecha said, “In the game we are opponents, but after the match we are all Christians and brothers. We simply said a little prayer together because we are all very grateful.”

Two pastors killed in Manipur State, India

Two pastors -- Pastor Kenpibou and the Rev. Manu Thiumai -- and at least two others were found dead in India’s Manipur State last week, reports The Christian Post.

The victims of ethnic and religious violence were found with their hands tied and their bodies mutilated in this northeastern state. 

The Economic Times quotes a Manipur home minister who described the killings as “a heinous crime against humanity.” 

74% of Israelis support sexual perversion today

The Jerusalem Post reports that more than 100,000 persons participated in this year’s so-called “gay pride” parade in Tel Aviv, Israel. A new study conducted by the Israel Institute for Gender and LGBT Studies found that 74% of Israel supports “full and legally enforced equal rights for the LGBT community.”  That’s up from 61% just three years ago.

Additionally, 89% of secular Israelis support equal rights for homosexuals and transgenders compared to 75% of traditional Israelis, 53% of religious Israelis, and 25% of ultra-Orthodox Israelis.

Judges 3:12 says, “Once again, Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.”

Brazil’s attendance at sexually perverted “pride” event cut by 50% In related news, one of the world’s largest sexual perverted so-called “pride” events has been held in São Paulo, Brazil.

However, a university drone count found that the peak attendance fell off from 73,600 in 2024, to 36,800 in 2026. Organizers say the total attendees topped one million, but that’s down from three to five million in recent years. Isaiah 2:10-11 promises this: “Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.”

Trump scored elusive peace deal with Iran

The United States and Iran have reached a deal aimed at ending the war that will reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift the American naval blockade, reports NBC News.

A signing ceremony is set for Friday in Switzerland.

Global markets soared after the tentative deal was announced, while oil prices fell more than $4 a barrel on the news that shipping may soon be restored through the key trade route, according to Just The News.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote, "Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”

However, the memorandum of understanding leaves some key issues unresolved, setting up potential future tensions. The deal gives the two sides 60 days to resolve what to do about Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium and its nuclear program.

Supreme Court sides with pro-abortion public school

This just in.  The U.S. Supreme Court came down on the side of the pro-abortion lobby, to disallow a pro-life club from posting signs in a public school which would have denounced the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

Only Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented. Justice Alito pointed out that the “Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment constrains censorship.”

Many U.S. Christian denominations have lost members

American denominations have lost church attendance since 2007.

Pew Research breaks it down by denomination. Only the Reformed Churches and non-denominational groups have recovered or gained members since 2007.

By percentage,  Holiness churches have lost the most members, followed by Methodists, Adventists, Restorationists, and Baptists. In raw numbers, Baptists have lost 11 million members, Methodists have lost seven million members, Lutherans have lost four million members, and Holiness groups have lost 1.6 million members since 2007.

Meanwhile, the non-denominational churches gained 10.5 million members, and reformed churches gained about 150,000 over this 14-year period.

Overall, the decline of faith in America has leveled off since 2019, largely due to an increased interest in church attendance on the part of Gen Z men between the ages of 14 and 29.

Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act was not reauthorized On June 11th, Congress did not reauthorize  the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA. The vote was 198-218.

FISA 702 has been used to spy on American citizens, and it actively circumvents the Fourth Amendment which prohibits the government from spying on Americans without a warrant.

Almost all Democrats voted against reauthorization of FISA 702, but it took 19 Republicans to officially defeat the spying measure. Establishment Republicans signaled their disappointment that the measure was defeated, but Republican Congressman Tim Burchett of Tennessee explained, “The Fourth Amendment is there for a reason.”

Trump saved 146,000 migrant children trafficked under Biden

The Trump administration has rescued 146,000 migrant children who were trafficked into the country during the Biden administration. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin explained the situation and the conditions under President Biden.

Cleveland Clinic to invest $2 million to help de-transitioners

In another domestic victory, the Trump administration reached a massive deal with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation which agreed to stop transitioning minors.

The clinic also agreed to commit $2 million to help de-transitioners, following in the footsteps of Texas Children’s Hospital, which set up a $10 million fund for that purpose. 

Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward stated, “The Department of Justice is steadfastly committed to protecting America’s children. Just as the resolution with Texas Children’s, today’s resolution with Cleveland Clinic furthers that commitment and puts these providers on notice that this Department will vigorously enforce federal law where children are put at risk.”

New York Knicks are world champions after a 53-year drought

And finally, on June 13th, the New York Knicks became basketball world champions once again.

ANNOUNCER: “It's over.  Knick fans: This is not a dream. Your long, long wait has ended. Go ahead and cry. After 53 years, the Knicks are finally NBA champions once again.”

During Game 5 of the NBA Finals in the Alamo City, the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 94-90, capping off a stunning playoff run. 

Knicks star Jalen Brunson scored 45 points in the victory, which earned him the nomination of Finals Most Valuable Player. But even more special for Jalen was the fact that his Dad, Rick Brunson, was his coach. 

Amazingly, Rick, himself a former NBA player, made the finals for the New York Knicks back in 1999, also playing against the San Antonio Spurs in that series. 

Rick and Jalen continue to maintain a close relationship, which Jalen elaborated on in a Good Morning America interview on ABC.

BRUNSON: “Our relationship is unique. People may think just because he pushes me a certain way that we don't say things to each other, but I wouldn't trade anything for the world. We have the best relationship, even when it looks like we're fighting. That's just a coach and player trying to get over, to get to the Promised Land.”

“Peace Korea” is praying for Korean church to reunify North & South

From June 5-25, 48 churches and Christian groups across South Korea are joining together to pray for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to reunify North Korea and South Korea, and for imprisoned missionaries in North Korea to be released, reports International Christian Concern.

Peace Korea has held 21-day prayer meetings since 2007, following Daniel’s example in Daniel 10 when he dedicated three weeks to pray for his people.

The organizer told Christian Daily Korea, “I hope … that the Korean Peninsula will become one in the Gospel.”

The theme of the 20th Peace Prayer Assembly is drawn from Isaiah 43:19. In that prophetic book, God declared, “Behold, I am doing a new thing.”

Peace Korea published the “Peace Prayer Book” which includes messages from pastors, stories about Christian martyrs, and prayers that meditate on the new works God is doing.

Tulsi Gabbard: “There are 120 US -funded bio labs in 30 countries”

Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released declassified information on Friday revealing that U.S. taxpayers have funded 120  biological labs in 30 foreign countries, reports The New York Post.

GABBARD: “After months of searching through intelligence community holdings and files, today I'm releasing new evidence of longstanding U.S. government funding of more than 120 bio labs in over 30 countries.

“Now, these bio labs include labs in places like Ukraine, which could be at risk of compromise due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War. In fact, the intelligence community had previously warned that a US-funded bio lab in Ukraine likely housed dangerous pathogens and remained vulnerable to longstanding threats of Russian attack, seizure, or damage.

“Now, until now, evidence regarding the full existence and funding of these laboratories had been knowingly withheld from you, the American people. Many of these U.S. government-funded bio labs are currently or have previously engaged in research using hazardous and highly contagious pathogens, and, in some cases, included dangerous gain-of-function research with very little visibility or oversight.”

The Director of National Intelligence also explained what President Trump has done to mitigate the danger and how Biden administration officials, like Dr. Anthony Fauci, “lied” about their existence.

GABBARD: “Now, President Trump clearly understands the serious threat dangerous gain-of-function research poses to the American people. And this is why he took decisive action over a year ago. On May 25. 2025, he signed an executive order to end federal funding of gain-of-function research around the world.

“Now, despite the obvious potential for catastrophic global impact that research on dangerous pathogens and bio labs can have, politicians and so-called health professionals, like Dr. [Anthony] Fauci, as well as entities within the Biden administration's national security team, lied repeatedly to the American people about the existence of US-funded and supported bio labs. Very powerful people falsely claimed that these bio labs didn't exist.”

Gabbard has sought transparency as part of an effort to eliminate possibly dangerous experiments with pathogens that have the potential to explode into pandemics.

Tulsi Gabbard’s last day is June 30th as she will be caring for her sick husband of 11 years, Abraham Williams, who has been stricken with a rare bone cancer affecting the base of his spine.

United States now world’s largest oil exporter

The United States has officially become the world’s largest oil exporter, an historic milestone that underscores America’s growing energy dominance, reports Big League Politics.

The U.S. exported 10.5 million barrels of crude oil and refined petroleum products per day in May, surpassing both Russia and Saudi Arabia for the third consecutive month. By contrast, Russia exported roughly 7 million barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia shipped about 6 million barrels daily.

Spencer Pratt ready to drop bombshell in L.A. Mayoral race

Former Republican Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt posted a video last Friday acknowledging his campaign is now over, but promised to release compromising recordings or perhaps video footage that will cause Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and/or Councilwoman Nithya Raman to “resign in shame,” reports The Western Journal.

Bass, a Democrat, and Raman, a Democratic socialist, were the top two finishers in the Los Angeles mayoral primary. So, those two will advance to November’s general election.

Raman mysteriously overcame nearly a double-digit election night deficit to Pratt to be declared the second place winner earlier last week after mail-in ballots broke strongly in her favor, over both Bass and Pratt.

As The Worldview previously reported last Friday, U.S. General Bill Essayli is looking into possible voter fraud, related to the disproportionate registrations of the homeless that far exceeds the actual homeless population.

On June 12th, Pratt posted a fiery video on social media teasing his plans for "Phase III" of his effort to clean up the city, reports Fox News.

PRATT: “I didn't get in this for political power. I got in this to expose this corrupt machine. And nothing has changed. Angelinos are now stuck with two morons responsible for all their problems. And they have to choose between dumb and dumber.”

Pratt laid out the problems of Los Angeles.

PRATT: “Now, every problem that plagues Los Angeles, because of these two corrupt communists, is going to accelerate, and the city will tumble headlong into the abyss.

“You have no idea how many major developers, hoteliers, business owners, entrepreneurs have been texting me, saying they're packing up and leaving town. More of your favorite restaurants will be shuttering. That means less tax revenue.

“That means the city has to cut services: more potholes, less firefighters, less police patrols, more criminals, more drug addicts terrorizing your communities. You have no idea how bad things are about to get for this city.

“Look at this place already: weeds growing from every crack and crevice, graffiti over every square inch of public space, garbage, drugs, feces, burned-up dogs, burned-out towns, abandoned storefronts. This city is a mess, and you're about to reward the arsonist who torched the place with four more years of destruction.”

And Spencer Pratt teased information he has that could force one or both  candidates to resign.

PRATT: “We have some recordings of one of your exalted candidates doing and saying something that would make her resign in shame. I was saving it for the general election. Go ahead and pick your demon. Certify your choice, and then you get to see it. So, Karen, Nithya, ask yourself, ‘Is it possible that one of your employees may have a recording of you doing or saying something that would force you to resign in disgrace?’”

King John of England signed Magna Carta in 1215

And finally, 811 years ago, on June 15, 1215, King John of England signed the Magna Carta, which began, “The Church of England shall be free.”

It was first drafted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Stephen Langton, to make peace between the unpopular king and a group of rebel barons who demanded that the King confirm the Charter of Liberties.

The Magna Carta promised the protection of church rights, protection for the barons from illegal imprisonment, access to swift and impartial justice, and limitations on feudal payments to the Crown.

Hundreds of Nigerians freed from Boko Haram captivity after months

Ready for some good news?

Hundreds of Nigerians, who had been abducted by Boko Haram Muslim militants during a devastating March attack, have just been freed after months in captivity, reports International Christian Concern. It’s one of the largest releases of hostages in the region in recent years. 

Officials claim that the Nigerian army rescued 360 captives from a remote hideout in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State near the border with the country of Cameroon.

However, local community leaders insist that local negotiations, rather than military action, secured their freedom.

Pentagon on lock down over “air quality issue”

On June 11th, the Pentagon was placed on lockdown after officials detected an “air quality issue” inside the building, reports NewsNation.com.

Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the War Department activated standard safety procedures, including a “shelter-in-place order for affected areas. The Pentagon has sophisticated systems to ensure the safety of the building and its occupants. Those systems have detected an air quality issue necessitating precautionary measures until we determine its significance.”

Trump adds SAVE Act to Pentagon reconciliation bill

Despite the fact that the U.S. Senate has failed to make progress towards passing the much-needed Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or SAVE America Act, which would secure our nation’s elections, President Donald Trump is not throwing in the towel.

In a post on Truth Social, he just announced a huge move to get the act passed by adding it directly to the upcoming $350 billion Pentagon reconciliation bill.

This way, the legislation can clear the Senate with a simple majority, rather than the 60 votes needed under current rules.

Referencing the SAVE Act, he wrote, “THE SAVE AMERICA ACT … will protect our Elections for Generations to come.  Our Warriors protect our most Sacred Rights, and Voting is at the top. Time to defend that Right for every American!”

Yesterday, President Trump made these comments from the Oval Office.

TRUMP: “All voters must show photo I.D.  So, you go to vote and show photo ID. Not complicated. But who could oppose it? …

“All voters must show a little thing called proof of citizenship. No mail-in ballots except for illness, disability, military, or travel. So, we're being very progressive. We just don't want cheating. You see what's happening in California. They're rigging the election.”

Suspicious newly registered homeless votes in LA Mayoral race

In a suspicious turn of events to block Spencer Pratt’s candidacy for Los Angeles mayor, thousands of homeless voters were registered to vote at Los Angeles  shelters — despite many not living there or the facilities not having any beds at all, reports the New York Post.

As Spencer Pratt was eliminated by Nithya Raman in the mayor’s race during additional counting of votes on June 8th, one drop-in center, St. Joseph Center in Venice, which had received $600,000 from Nithya Raman, had 185 registered voters at the address but offers absolutely no accommodations.  After the New York Post inquired about this suspicious activity, the photograph of Raman presenting a check to St. Joseph’s was taken down from its website.

The revelations have prompted U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli to say he will investigate the concerns uncovered by The New York Post and “follow the evidence” to see if the law has been broken. 

A review of records shows 7,600 voters tied to homeless shelters and service providers.

The largest concentration of homeless voters was at the Midnight Mission in Skid Row, where voting records show 1,160 registrations — but its website shows it only has beds for 9% of that number -- 84 men and 36 women.

ACLU asserts a “religious right” to abortion in Indiana

The Thomas Moore Society is weighing in on a pending ACLU-inspired abortion case before the Indiana Supreme Court, urging the state’s highest jurists not to recognize a so-called “right” to abortion under the guise of religious freedom, reports LifeSiteNews.com.

Indiana law bans most surgical abortions. Sadly, chemical abortions persist due to mail-order Abortion Kill Pills, which the state legislature has so far been unable to quash.

The ACLU suit claims that denying Indiana mothers abortions would violate Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a 2015 law that says that government may not “substantially burden a person’s exercise of religion.”

Indiana Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita has appealed, and the Indiana Supreme Court agreed in April to take the case. Oral arguments are set to begin in September.

Thomas Olp with the Thomas Moore Society, said, “This case is a Trojan Horse. The ACLU and its clients want to call this religious liberty, but it isn’t—not under any historically honest understanding of the term. From Cicero to John Locke to the framers of Indiana’s Constitution, the natural law tradition that gave us religious freedom has never treated the taking of innocent life as an exercise of religion.”

Missionary David Brainerd had a heart to see Indians saved

And finally, on June 12, 1744, David Brainerd was ordained by the Presbyterian Church to be a missionary to the New England Indians.

He first went to an Indian village on the Housatonic River in Connecticut. Then, he studied the Algonquin languages in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

According to the Generations-published Taking the Americas for Jesus, Brainerd loved the Indians which is why he wanted them to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. He said, “I taught that men are sinners. All sinners will be judged by God. Then, I told them that Christ could save them. Christ was a great Savior.  All who believe in Jesus will be saved.”

Even living in a wigwam and missing many meals, Brainerd was undeterred.  Indian witch doctors tried to poison him. He asked, “Why can’t your magic harm me?” Sometimes Indians trusted in Christ. But many did not want to leave their idols.

In 1745, Brainerd went to an Indian tribe in New Jersey where 100 Indians converted to Christianity. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!”

He died from tuberculosis on October 9, 1747, at the young age of 29.

Nigerian court sentences Muslims to death for executing Catholics

Last week, a court in the African nation of Nigeria sentenced four Muslim men to death for killing dozens of Catholics.

Four years ago, the gunmen attacked a Pentecost Sunday service at a Catholic Church in southwest Nigeria. They killed 41 people, including children.

Authorities determined that the armed men belonged to Al-Shabaab, an Islamic terrorist group. The massacre was the first terrorist attack on a church in southern Nigeria.  

According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the seventh most dangerous country worldwide for Christians.

Proverbs 7:14 and 16 says, “Behold, the wicked man conceives evil . . . His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends.”

Sudanese man arrested in Ireland for attempted beheading

Authorities in Northern Ireland arrested a migrant from the African nation of Sudan on Tuesday. Police in Belfast accused him of carrying out a severe knife attack on a man in his 40s.

People across the United Kingdom responded to the attempted beheading with protests. The victim was hospitalized with significant injuries to his face, neck, and back.

Many U.K. citizens question their government’s immigration policies, including Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe. In February, the lawmaker launched a national political party called Restore Britain. The party is devoted to ending mass immigration and also openly recognizes Britain’s Christian heritage. 

Congress funds $70 billion for ICE and Border Patrol

In the United States, President Donald Trump signed the Secure America Act yesterday.

The $70 billion package fully funds the Department of Homeland Security. The bill specifically covers U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the rest of President Trump’s second term.

JOHNSON: “The historic mandate that put President Trump in the White House and Republican majorities in both the House and the Senate is evidence of the fact that Democrats’ ‘Defund the Police’ agenda is wildly out of step with hardworking American families. After four long years of Democrat policies that opened the door to dangerous criminals and deadly drugs, Republicans are delivering on our promise to restore safe streets and secure our borders.”

Inflation rose 4.3%

Inflation reached a three-year high last month for American consumers. 

The cost of goods and services rose 4.2 percent in May compared to a year ago.

Rising energy costs drove the inflation. Gasoline prices were up 40 percent from a year earlier.   

iPhone launch connected to lower U.S. fertility rate

A new study from the National Bureau of Economic Research suggests that the launch of the iPhone contributed to declining fertility rates in the U.S.

Apple introduced the iPhone in 2007. The U.S. general fertility rate has fallen by 22 percent since then. People have been spending more time on their smartphones and less time with each other. 

The study noted, “Overall, the diffusion of the iPhone explains 33–52% of the decline in the general fertility rate among women aged 15–44.”

Southern Baptists: Only men can serve as pastors

The Southern Baptist Convention affirmed its position yesterday that only men can serve as pastors.

Over 70 percent of the denomination’s representatives voted in favor of the “Truth and Unity Amendment.” The measure was sponsored by Albert Mohler Jr., the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The amendment would require churches in the denomination to not appoint women as pastors, elders, or overseers.

MOHLER: “This motion makes very clear that we affirm the historic Baptist understanding of the pastor, elder, overseer. The structure of the language I have brought goes all the way back to the 1689 Baptist Confession, where the office and function of the pastor are clearly delineated.

“This amendment makes very clear that a church, in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, doesn't have anyone other than a man as pastor in the office of pastor and specifies on the functions of the pastor that the key central function of preaching the Word of God to the gathered assembly is limited to men by Scripture.”

1 Timothy 3:1-2 says, “If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore, an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach.” 

Animated movie “David” claims #1 spot on Netflix

And finally, the animated film David reached the number one spot on Netflix for movies in the United States over the weekend.

Hindu mob injured 25 Christians during worship service

A Hindu mob attacked a Christian worship service in central India last week.

The mob injured at least 25 people, including the pastor’s pregnant wife. Such attacks are becoming more common in the country’s state of Chhattisgarh. 

The state’s government passed a law criminalizing conversion in March. It is India’s second most oppressive state for Christians. Open Doors ranks the whole country as the 12th most oppressive in the world for Christians.   

7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Philippines

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the southern part of the Philippines on Monday.

The quake killed at least 37 people, injured nearly 500, and displaced over 32,000.

Christians in the area are jumping into action. International Christian Concern reports, “Local churches have opened their doors and converted their sanctuaries into vital emergency evacuation centers, providing safe shelter, immediate access to drinking water, and essential family food packs to thousands of displaced and traumatized residents.”  

In Matthew 5:7, Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”

Spanish Anglican church joins Bible-believing Anglican denomination

In Spain, the Evangelical Anglican Community of Valencia joined the Global Anglican Communion last week. It’s the first church in the country to do so.

The Global Anglican Communion is a movement of conservative Anglicans led by churches in the Global South. The group rejects the leadership of the Church of England which has shown support for sexually perverted lifestyles.

Julian Milson is the pastor of the church in Valencia. He told Evangelical Focus, “We believe that the Church is called to submit to the authority of Scripture above any cultural pressure.”

FDA launched safety study of Abortion Kill Pill

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration launched a safety study of the Abortion Kill Pill, reports The Wall Street Journal. 

This comes a year after the Trump administration promised to review the dangers of the abortion drug Mifepristone. The drug is not only part of ending the lives of unborn babies, it also poses health risks to the mothers who take it. 

Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri introduced legislation in March to ban the Abortion Kill Pill. Listen to his comments.

HAWLEY: “It is time for Congress to give the victims, the survivors -- many of whom are here today -- the right to recover against this company that has inflicted harm on them solely for the purpose of making profits. I'm introducing legislation today that will do just that. And I'm delighted to have with me here today great advocates for women's health and for life.”

FBI fired analysts who targeted Catholics under President Biden        

MS Now reports that the FBI fired several intelligence analysts who targeted Catholics under the Biden administration.

The analysts were involved in a 2023 memo which revealed how the FBI was surveilling Catholics as potential domestic threats. 

A recent report from the Justice Department stated, “The Biden Administration’s policies regularly clashed with a Christian worldview and burdened traditional religious practices.”

Amazon dethroned Walmart

Amazon has dethroned Walmart as the largest corporation in the U.S. by revenue. That’s according to the Fortune 500 rankings for 2026.

Walmart came in second, ending its 13-year reign at the number one spot. Other top 10 companies include UnitedHealth Group, Apple, Alphabet, CVS Health, and Exxon Mobil. 

Also, Texas dethroned California as the state with the most Fortune 500 companies this year. 

Curaçao soccer player shared Christian testimony

And finally, soccer teams from around the world are about to compete for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The international men’s soccer championship is being hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada this year.

One of teams hails from Curaçao, an island county in the Caribbean. Players from the national team participated in a Christian worship event ahead of the competition. 

The team’s striker, Kenji Gorré, shared his testimony at the event.

GORRE: “I received Him as my Savior, because I knew that my good works couldn't do enough. I thought that if you're a good person, you'll make it to Heaven. I thought if you're a good person, God will forgive me. He’s a loving God. But the love of God goes deeper.

“And that's when I heard the true Gospel of Jesus dying for my sins on the cross, bleeding for me, washing me, cleaning me. And He cleaned me from the inside out. But I thank Jesus every single day. And from that day I've never stopped seeking Him.”

Gorré also said, “Tonight we don't gather as athletes seeking worldly success, but as children of God who recognize that everything we have belongs to Him.”

Vietnamese Communists have imprisoned 57 Christians

Religious freedom is tenuous in Vietnam.  That’s the subject of a new report by International Christian Concern.  

At last count, Vietnam has 57 unreleased religious prisoners, five of whom were subjected to government-initiated torture.

Pastors and evangelists are imprisoned for what is called “undermining national unity policy” or “abusing democratic freedoms”, whatever that is.  

And Christmas is a dangerous time for Vietnamese Christians. That’s when arrests accelerate in the Central Highlands, especially for believers who are caught worshiping in churches unsponsored by the communist government.

State Dept. weighs in on the murder of a Brit by a Sikh

Tensions between the United States and the United Kingdom have increased over the killing of a Brit named Henry Nowak. Last December, he was killed by a Sikh, a son of an Indian immigrant.

The murderer had falsely accused Nowak of a hate crime.  Sadly, the police chose to believe the murderer instead of the victim in the crime.  

In response, the U.S. State Department issued a statement pointing out “ideological conditioning and two-tiered policing” as “glaring symptoms of civilizational decline” in the United Kingdom.  

Vice President J.D. Vance also stated on social media that “Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit.”

Countries where the most Evangelicals live

The most Evangelicals in the world live in -- you may have never guessed it -- China.   

The Joshua Project puts China at the top with 106 million Evangelicals. The United States comes in second with 92 million Evangelicals. Then, comes Nigeria with 64 million, and Brazil with 53 million.  

The other nations with the largest Evangelical populations include Ethiopia, Kenya, Mexico, and Uganda.

Among the unreached nations of the world with the lowest Christian populations are these European countries: Austria, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Norway, and Sweden.

Brazil’s surge of Evangelicals and loss of Catholics

Brazil has seen a surge of Evangelicals — now at 27%, up from 21.6% in 2010. 

Brazil’s atheist population grew from 8% to 9.3%.

The nation’s Roman Catholic population took the hit, losing about 8% since 2010. Catholics now represent only 56.7% of Brazilians. Catholicism made up 99% of the population back in 1890, according to the recently released Census of Traditional Peoples and Communities.

New poll: America is viewed negatively

America is viewed as increasingly unpopular worldwide while China is receiving higher marks for popular approval.

Gallup’s recent international poll found America at a 31% level vs. China’s 36%.  That’s the highest gap in history.

America’s net approval ratings have always dropped to the lowest levels in the history of the survey -- now at negative 15%.

Trump’s endorsed candidate for Iowa governor loses 8/10 of a point

Iowa conservative Zach Lahn won the nomination for governor in a crowded Iowa GOP primary last week. 

Lahn won his primary with just 38% of the vote — a close victory over Trump-endorsed Congressman Randy Feenstra, who earned 37.2% of the vote.

Lahn is a sixth generation Iowan who has spoken out against chemical manufacturers and Chinese land ownership here in the United States.

Texas Rangers doesn’t endorse homosexual pride month

The LGBTQ and so-called “Pride Month” fervor has slowed greatly under the Trump administration, but not completely.

Sports teams across the nation continue to celebrate Homosexual Pride Month. To their credit, the Texas Rangers are the only team in Major League Baseball to abstain from celebrating perverted lifestyles. 

Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen opposes homosexual pride

But some are still standing against homosexuality on a personal level. 

Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen was the only player on his team who did not appear on the field in a homosexual “Pride” hat last Friday, standing by his convictions. The Los Angeles Dodgers organization has been known to openly support homosexuality, transgenderism, and drag. 

Influencer Jon Root praises Treinen’s actions. He wrote, “While other professed Christians, Dodgers [shortstop] Mookie Betts and manager Dave Roberts wore [homosexual transgender] “pride” hats, only Blake Treinen, [the pitcher], refused. Don’t bow down to the idols of our age, Christians. Stand firm like Treinen.”

Ephesians 6:13 says, “Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Trump’s $1.7 billion “anti-weaponization” fund shot down

President Donald Trump’s controversial $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization” fund has been shot down by the courts and those within his own party.

Several Republican senators objected to the newly created fund, which would have had taxpayers foot the bill and paid out victims of political persecution while also shielding the Trump family from federal tax review. 

June 9th anniversary of Scottish missionary Columba

And finally, on this date, June 9th, A.D. 597, the great Irish Christian missionary, Columba, went to be with the Lord.

Columba, also known as Columcille, planted churches all over Scotland and established the famed missionary school on the isle of Iona in A.D. 563, a training ground for missionaries over the next several centuries. 

Born around the year A.D. 521, Columba was in line to become a High King of Ireland, but chose to serve the Lord in foreign lands instead.

Isaiah 52:7 states, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Russian pastor labeled “terrorist” for speaking against Ukraine war

On May 28th, Russian authorities labeled 74-year-old Baptist pastor Yuri Sipko to be a terrorist, reports International Christian Concern.

As the former head of the Union of Evangelical Baptist Christians in Russia, he has spoken out against the war in Ukraine on social media. As a result, Russia launched a criminal case against him in August 2023, claiming he was spreading false information about military actions.

At the time, Sipko said,  “They are looking for me to put me in prison because I’ve spoken the truth that Russia waged war on Ukraine,  People are dying, and everything is being destroyed. It’s criminal, and they should not be doing this.”

During the investigation, Sipko’s home was raided, but he managed to escape.

In Matthew 5:10, Jesus said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.”

Iran’s missiles failed to hit Saudi Arabia or Bahrain

On June 2nd, U.S. forces successfully defeated multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones, and conducted self-defense strikes on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz in response to attempted attacks by Iran across the Middle East, reported the United States Central Command on X.

Iran launched several ballistic missiles toward regional neighbors. However, all failed to hit their intended targets. Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart enroute, and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by U.S. and Bahrain air defense forces.

House resolution constrains Trump from military action against Iran

In a vote of 215-208 on June 3rd, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a measure seeking to stop President Trump from taking further military action in Iran amid growing opposition to the war, reports the Associated Press.

President Trump called the 215 representatives who passed the resolution "unpatriotic.”

In a post on Truth Social, the president wrote: "In a meaningless vote, the House voted, 4 bad Republicans and all of the Dumocrats, to limit my War Powers, right in the middle of my final negotiations to end the War with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Who would do such an unpatriotic thing?"

It is unclear how much legal force the House's measure will have. The White House described the move as an unconstitutional attempt to restrict presidential power.

Four GOP Senators opposed Safeguard Voter Eligibility Act

On June 4th, the U.S. Senate failed to pass the Safeguard Voter Eligibility Act which would require people to show documented proof of citizenship, reports Fox News.

Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky voted against the motion, signaling that the SAVE America Act does not have the votes to pass.

Appearing on Fox News, Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah said this.

LEE: “Americans overwhelmingly support the need for voter I.D. They overwhelmingly support the need to verify citizenship from those registered to vote in this country. That's why the overwhelming majority, a super majority, of Republican voters, of Democrat voters nationwide want the S.A.V.E America Act passed. And even want it passed before the midterm elections.

“That cuts across the board in people of both political parties. The only place where this is even remotely controversial is in the halls of Congress with Democrats. We've got to get this done to make our elections safe and secure again.”

Indeed, according to Pew Research Center, 83% of Americans favor requiring all voters to show government-issued photo ID to vote, including 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats.

Trump beautifies Washington, D.C.

Ahead of America’s 250th birthday, President Donald Trump made a promise.

TRUMP: “We're going to get all the graffiti off the marble. We're going to fix the roads and the medians, which are falling down all over the street. Washington, D.C. will become a symbol of beauty, security, freedom, and strength.”

Specifically speaking, for nearly two decades, the Columbus Fountain in front of Washington’s Union Station was nonfunctional. Now, water is flowing again after 19 years. Plus, all of the obscene graffiti that President Joe Biden had tolerated was power washed away.

The work was completed thanks to President Donald Trump's executive order on "Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful."

Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, Interior Secretary Doug Bergum said this.

BERGUM: “The real scandal is not that we're fixing up monuments or making this capital beautiful again. The scandal should be, how in the world did we let our capital fall into such a disrepair? How did we fall into such a spot where celebrating American patriotism became partisan?”

At a cabinet meeting, President Trump weighed in.

TRUMP: “D.C. is looking beautiful, and the fountains are almost all open.”

Most notably, the reflecting pool between the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial was in terrible disrepair. 

After draining the pool and removing 12 truckloads of trash, they repaired the leaks in the pool's concrete slab and joints by applying a waterproof coating, and painted it “American flag” blue to improve the reflection.  After starting the filling process on June 4th, it was completely filled yesterday, June 7th.

YouTuber announced abortion of Down syndrome baby

And finally, YouTube influencer Jesse Ridgway, who has 4 million followers, is facing a massive backlash after he announced on X that he and his wife decided to abort their baby after the child was diagnosed with Down syndrome, reports LifeSiteNews.com.

Horrifically, Ridgway stated that he and his wife researched Down syndrome and decided that it would be best for both the child and for his family if the baby was killed in the womb—and noted that over 90 percent of children diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted.

He said, “50% of babies with Down syndrome have heart defects. 75% will have hearing challenges. Over 50% will have vision problems. … Sadly, the list is long. … As for us, we made a difficult decision that we believe, in the long-run, will be beneficial for our family. Thankfully, we had a choice.”

Incidentally, despite frequent health difficulties, nearly 99 percent of people with Down syndrome report being happy with their lives; 96 percent like how they look; and 97 percent like who they are. 

Dr. Calum Miller, a United Kingdom doctor and ethicist, said, “I’m sorry you murdered your child because he/she didn’t pass quality control.” He pointed out that Ridgway had previously celebrated the fact that his dog had managed to survive a complicated surgery and was now living without kidneys.

Columnist Mollie Hemingway wrote, “Killing your baby because he wasn’t perfect in your eyes is so sad and dark and, yes, evil. Even if we didn’t know how wonderful people with Down syndrome are. I pray you find Jesus. Life is beautiful.”

And podcaster Brittany Hughes bluntly put it: “There is no way of framing this that will gain my sympathy. No poetic waxing, no begging for understanding, no tearful excuses. My heart breaks for this precious baby who was killed for the crime of having an extra chromosome by the two people who should have protected him or her with their own lives.”

Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”

Vietnamese Communists arrested two pastors

Two Montagnard Vietnamese Christian men — Pastor Siu Yúi, age 68, and church member Siu Dok, age 40 — were recently arrested in Gia Lai Central Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region.

Both men were charged with “religious teachings” to mobilize ethnic minority communities toward separatism and independence, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

These arrests of Vietnamese Christians are the latest in a long campaign that the Communist Vietnamese government has waged against Montagnard Christian ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands who refuse to join state-controlled and sanctioned churches.

In John 16:33, Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

In L.A. Mayoral race, Karen Bass and Spencer Pratt advance to run-off

In the June 2nd election for Los Angeles mayor, Democrat incumbent Karen Bass had a dismal showing with only 34% of the vote. She was followed by insurgent reality TV star Spencer Pratt, a Republican, at 30% and socialist Nithya Raman at 22%.  However, they are still counting ballots.

Bass and Pratt now advance to a runoff this November.

Tom Bevan, the founder of Real Clear Politics, offered this analysis.

BEVAN: “The good news for Spencer Pratt is that over 60% of Los Angelinos voted for anybody but Karen Bass. That's the good news.

“The bad news is for Spencer Pratt that he's at 30%. 22 [percent] voted for a socialist in Nithya Raman.  How many of those voters are going to migrate over and vote for Karen Bass in the general election? And how much of an uphill climb is it for him to become the next mayor?

“I think it's still a long shot, but he's going to get to stand on stage with Karen Bass again, in at least one debate, unless she decides not to.”

Spencer Pratt scored points about Palisades Fire and drug addiction issue

Spencer Pratt, whose home burned down in the Palisades Fire which he blames on Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for having drained nearby reservoirs, talked about her failure in their pre-election May 6th debate.

PRATT: “So, without those two reservoirs filled with 117 million gallons and 5 million gallons, these firefighters had to fly all the way to Malibu and Encino to get water. So, that to me is the most dangerous thing that the mayor put us up against. … As mayor, I will never drain the reservoirs that we need for wildfire protection.”

In that same debate, Pratt explained that the “homeless” in the streets is primarily a drug addiction problem.

PRATT: “The reality is, no matter how many beds you give these people, they are on super meth, they are on fentanyl. The DEA statistic says 93% of this is a drug addiction problem.

“Councilwoman Raman’s plan for treatment first. I will go below the Harbor Freeway tomorrow with her, and we can find some of these people she's going to offer treatment for. She's going to get stabbed in the neck. These people do not want a bed. They want fentanyl or super meth.”

Fate, Texas stands tall for nuclear family

And finally, not every elected official is jumping on the sexual perversion bandwagon, declaring the month of June to be Homosexual Pride month.

Fate, Texas Mayor Andrew Greenberg declared June to be Nuclear Family Month.

God did ordain a husband and wife -- and their biological, adopted or foster children -- as the essential nucleus of the family.  In Genesis 1:28, God commanded that the husband and wife “be fruitful and multiply.”

China’s Tiananmen Square massacre anniversary

Today is the 37th anniversary of China’s Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989.

In the weeks leading up to the tragic event, students were protesting for democracy in Beijing. The Communist Chinese government responded by forcibly putting down the protests. Hundreds, if not thousands, died in the massacre.

China’s military also arrested leaders in the underground church which had fueled the protests. 

Communist Chinese denying Bible to imprisoned pastors

Speaking of China, the country continues its persecution of the church.

International Christian Concern reports Communist officials are denying access to Bibles for imprisoned pastors.

Authorities arrested three leaders of Maizhong Reformed Church last year. Their family members requested to send them Bibles during their imprisonment. But officials refused the request and subjected the families to more intimidation. 

Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ of the underground church in China.  According to Open Doors, China is the 17th most oppressive country worldwide for Christians.

Please send a 2-3 sentence letter urging officials to give the Bible to imprisoned pastors. Send it to Chinese Ambassador Xie Feng, Chinese Embassy, 3505 International Place NW, Washington DC 20008.

Africa’s fertility rate above replacement level

Pew Research reports that Africa boasts a young and growing population compared to the rest of the world.

The continent is home to 19 percent of people around the globe. And it contains 28 percent of all people under the age of 25. In the next 75 years, nearly half of the world’s young people are projected to live in Africa.

Also, it is the only world region where the fertility rate is above the replacement level. 

Scotland officials drop case against pro-life grandmother

The government of Scotland recently dropped its case against a pro-life, Christian grandmother.

Last September, authorities arrested 75-year-old Rose Docherty. She was simply holding a sign near an abortion mill in Glasgow. The sign read: “Coercion is a crime. Here to talk, only if you want.”  

A court cleared her of criminal charges in April. And Scotland’s prosecution office dropped the case last month.

DOCHERTY: “I was arrested, charged, and prosecuted for nothing more than peacefully inviting consensual conversation in a public space that I was permitted to be in. When I was arrested, I was handcuffed, placed in the back of a police van, and placed in a police cell for over two hours without a chair to sit on. Simply for being available for the lonely, the afraid, and the coerced, I have been treated like a violent criminal.

“But thankfully, today the charges have been dismissed. The judge ruled that the charges were irrelevant and that they were a breach of my Article 10 free speech rights. Thank you all for your support and prayers. Thank you to ADF International and my entire legal team, who were brilliant.

“Nobody should be criminalized for consensual conversations, and I am glad that that truth has been vindicated here today.”

Trump proposed new tariffs on 60 countries

In the United States, the Trump administration proposed new tariffs of up to 12.5 percent on 60 economies.

The U.S. Trade Representative's ‌office released the proposal on Tuesday. It accuses these economies of failing to curb the importation of goods produced with forced labor.

These economies include China, India, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada.  

Episcopal Church installed lesbian bishop in North Carolina

An Episcopal Diocese in North Carolina installed Sarah Fisher, a self-avowed lesbian, as its bishop last month. She is living in unnatural relations with another woman, Mandy Brady, who is an Episcopal priestess.

It is reportedly the denomination’s first appointment of its kind in the American south. 

Back in 1977, the Episcopal Church received its first homosexual into the clergy. Since then, membership has declined by nearly 50 percent as it has rejected clear Biblical teaching.

Gallup poll: Americans less likely to support sexual perversion now

A new survey from Gallup found that Americans are becoming less likely to support sexually perverted lifestyles.

Support for such sinful lifestyles grew rapidly for two decades, peaking five years ago.

Now, 65 percent of U.S. adults favor legal homosexual unions. That’s down from a high of 71 percent in 2022. Similarly, 62 percent support homosexual relations now, down from 71 percent over the same time period.

Wycliffe Bible Translators celebrated 800th Bible translation

And finally, Wycliffe Bible Translators celebrated its 800th Bible translation this week.

About 6.2 billion people now have the complete Bible in their own language. 

It took over 1,900 years to translate the Bible into 400 languages. The next 400 translations were completed in just the last 28 years.  

Isaiah 11:9-10 says, “The Earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place shall be glorious.”

Russia launched airstrikes against residential Ukraine

Russia carried out airstrikes on residential buildings across Ukraine yesterday. The attacks killed at least 22 civilians and injured 138 more people.

Evangelical Focus reports one of the missiles severely damaged the building of New Life Church in the capital city of Kyiv. Thankfully, no one was in the structure at the time. The church is known for providing shelter and aid to people fleeing the war in the east. 

This attack came only 10 days after Russian airstrikes hit the building of another Evangelical church in eastern Ukraine.

50 percent of Danish young people believe in God or a “higher power”

A growing share of young people in Denmark are expressing interest in God and the Bible.

A report from the Danish Bible Society found about half of 16 to 30-year-olds believe there is a God or a “higher power.” These young people are more open to faith than the rest of the population. They are also more likely to attend church and to be interested in the Bible than older generations. 

Among young people, men proved to be the most religious. One in three young men in Denmark attended a church service recently, and one in five reads the Bible weekly.

Franklin Graham preached to 20,000 in Madrid, Spain

Evangelist Franklin Graham shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with nearly 20,000 people in Madrid, Spain over the weekend.

GRAHAM: “The Bible says that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. Jesus Christ came to save sinners. He took your sins to the cross. He died in your place. He shed His own blood. He did this for you.”

Nearly a thousand Evangelical churches across 15 denominations participated in the event. The number of Evangelical churches in Spain has been growing in recent decades in the Catholic-majority country. 

Trump’s Executive Order on childhood vaccines

In the United States, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on childhood vaccines last Friday.

The order directs the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to update the childhood vaccine schedule based on an assessment by the Department of Health and Human Services. 

This assessment found that the United States recommends more childhood vaccines than any peer nation. It also noted that most peer nations do not implement vaccinations by mandate. 

Washington Nationals baseball team fired anti-Catholic PR man

An American professional baseball team fired a top official last week for religious discrimination.

Sean Hudson worked as the Director of Community Relations for the Washington Nationals. A recent undercover video exposed him for discriminating against the team’s Catholic pitcher, Trevor Williams.

Hudson excluded Williams from social media promotions because of his religious beliefs.

HUDSON: “One of our pitchers, Dude Trevor Williams, he is very Catholic. The Dodgers had a group out to the stadium who were drag queens who sometimes dressed up as nuns. He went on, like, a social media, like, ‘This is wrong. This is my religion. You all are mocking it.’ Because of that, we don't use him on social.”

Since the undercover video came out, the Nationals fired Hudson and apologized to Williams.

U.S. abortionists killed nearly 100,000 babies in January

Abortion providers killed an estimated 99,470 babies in the womb in January 2026. This number comes from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute.

Last year’s average number of abortions per month was 93,872.

Life News commented, “The Guttmacher figures are indeed estimates, given the number of abortions taking place at home via the mail, with limited data regarding what proportion of pills mailed are actually consumed by the recipient, saved for later use, discarded, or even prevented by abortion pill reversal medication.”

Museum of the Bible launches series on Bible’s U.S. influence

And finally, the Museum of the Bible is launching new exhibits and events this year for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. 

The museum is hosting a series of lectures starting this month about the Bible’s role in the founding of the United States. 

Next month, the museum plans to debut two exhibits on the Bible’s influence on early America. 

Their website says, “From America's earliest days, no text has left a deeper mark on the nation's ideals, laws, and culture than the Bible. As America marks its 250th anniversary, Museum of the Bible invites you to explore this story like never before.”

Psalm 111:2 and 4 says, “The works of the LORD are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them. … He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.”

92% of Australians say it's risky to affirm Christian beliefs publicly 

The first Australian Christian Freedom Index was released at the Australian Parliament last week.  The Index produced a national survey of more than 10,000 Australian Christians concerning their views on faith and freedom in their country.

A full 92% of respondents in the survey felt it is riskier to affirm Christian beliefs publicly today than it was five years ago.  And, of the 74 Acts of Parliament produced that negatively affect Christian freedom, nearly half were issued in the last five years. 

Thus far, 40 Christians have been penalized for their beliefs by fines or imprisonment. 

Chinese Communists sentenced 31 Christians to prison

In related news, persecution against Christians is on the rise in China as well. 

China Aid reports that a communist court in Hubei Province has sentenced 31 members of a house church fellowship for trumped up charges, to 2-4 years in prison.

A 77-year old Christian leader, named Yang Zhijing, was sentenced to three years and two months in prison, and was fined $1,180 under the charge of being involved in a cult.

His defense argued that he only advocated basic Christian teachings, that “faith in Jesus leads to Heaven” and that “everyone is sinful and must confess and repent.” The defense argued these were central doctrines in orthodox Christianity.

In 2 Timothy 3:12, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”

U.S. military killed 3 narco-terrorists in Pacific Ocean

The United States is back to striking drug boats in the Caribbean Sea.

The U.S. Southern Military Command announced that it struck a narco boat in the eastern Pacific, killing three over the weekend.  Plus, the U.S. military struck several boats earlier last week.

The death toll has risen to 205 for suspected narco-terrorists trying to traffic drugs into the United States by water. 

100,000 Canadians have been killed by euthanasia

Canada’s euthanasia deaths have soared past 100,000 since legalization in 2016.

A tragic new report records 17,000 killings in 2025, up from 16,500 in 2024 and 7,500 in 2020. Add this to 104,000 abortions in the country. That makes up 40% of the total deaths in Canada in a given year.

SCHADENBURG: “Canada is increasingly seen internationally as a cautionary example. The rapid growth of euthanasia deaths and the expansion of the types of cases are being closely watched abroad. …

“More broadly, Canada's assisted dying law is vague. While Health Canada provides guidance, the legal framework allows for wide interpretation and lacks effective oversight.”

Stocks inflated now like 2001 dot-com bust & 2009 real estate bust

The S&P 500 Technology Sector stock metric gained 36% in two months. That’s the biggest jump in 36 years.

And the NASDAQ Composite took a 23% leap over the same time period.  Artificial Intelligence is driving much of the growth, according to some experts. 

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 Price-to-Earnings Ratio reached 33. That’s the same territory the ratio exceeded in the 2001 dot-com bust and 2009 real estate bust. America’s twelve most highly capitalized companies have reached a worth of $30 trillion which is five times what they were worth six years ago. By contrast, income for these companies increased by only 2.5-fold. 

The Buffett Indicator, which takes the total stock market funding as a percentage of the Gross Domestic Product, has reached 232%. That’s twice what it was before the 2009 real estate bust, and four times what it was just after the bust.

Virginia Democrats want constitutional right to kill baby at birth

The state of Virginia is looking to legalize abortion up until birth with a proposed constitutional amendment. 

A Roman Catholic Bishop, Michael Francis Burbidge, spoke out against the proposed amendment. He said, “This may be the only election in our lifetime where you hear me, or the Church, speak directly on how to approach the ballot box. God Himself knitted us together in our mother’s womb, and our Lord Himself instituted the sacrament of marriage.”

Indeed, in Psalm 139:13, David told God, “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

Nevada and Missouri have abortion on the ballot

The states of Nevada and Missouri are also planning referendums on abortion in the 2026 mid-term elections.

Thus far, 16 states have run referendums on abortion since the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Only South Dakota preserved a trigger ban on abortion. Nebraska allowed for 12-week abortions, and Florida allows for 6-week abortions.

Pro-abortion majorities voted to keep abortion legal in Arizona, Colorado, California, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Nevada, New York, and Vermont.

Planned Parenthood has $2 billion in annual income

And finally, Planned Parenthood is raking in the dollars.

The largest abortion provider in America has released its latest annual report, recording $2.14 billion in annual income -- up from $1.29 billion in 2014-2015, and $1.64 billion in 2019-2020 prior to the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Psalm 37:35-36 speaks of powerful evil forces. ”When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it. I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree. Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more. Indeed, I sought him, but he could not be found.”

Egypt grants legal status to 191 church buildings

The Egyptian government released an order the week of May 18th granting legal status to 191 church buildings that previously lacked official recognition, reports International Christian Concern.

In total, 3,804 churches and related buildings have been approved since the creation of a committee to review churches in 2016, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide. 

Thousands of churches and associated buildings have been built in recent decades. Still, the northeast African country of Egypt maintains a system for approving Christian places of worship that is separate from — and more difficult than — that for Sunni Muslim places of worship.

According to Open Doors, Egypt is the 42nd most oppressive country worldwide for Christians.

Pope Leo meets with pro-abort, pro-sex perversion Chicago mayor

On May 28th, Pope Leo XIV met in a private audience with radical Chicago Democratic mayor Brandon Johnson, during which they reportedly discussed ICE raids in the city, slavery reparations, and the Iran war, but not key moral issues such as abortion and the homosexual transgender agenda, both of which Mayor Johnson supports, reports LifeSiteNews.com.

The mayor has a radically pro-abortion and pro-sexual perversion record, previously pledging to offer free Abortion Kill Pills and to prosecute pro-life sidewalk counselors.

And, in 2024, the mayor commemorated “National Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.”

At the time, Chicago Mayor Johnson said, “We commend the bravery and resilience of abortion providers and look forward to continuing to support their efforts to ensure that reproductive rights are upheld and respected. Together, we can resist attempts to roll back the progress we have made, ensuring Chicago remains a sanctuary for choice.”

Notice, he failed to mention that the choice the mother makes is the choice to murder her innocent pre-born baby boy or baby girl.

In God’s conversation with the prophet Jeremiah, He said, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Supreme Court Justice Amy Barrett targeted in attempted swatting

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett was the target of an apparent “swatting” attempt after an unknown caller falsely reported gunfire at her Virginia residence, reports The Christian Post.

On May 27th, Fairfax County police said that a caller contacted the department’s nonemergency line claiming to have heard shots fired at Barrett’s home. Officers quickly coordinated with Supreme Court Police assigned to the residence and determined the report was false.

Texas Governor Abbott blasted Democrat James Talarico

Appearing on Fox News Channel, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott blasted James Talarico, the Democrat Senatorial candidate, who will face off in the general election against Republican Ken Paxton for U.S. Senate this fall.

ABBOTT: “Talarico himself said he has a record that he's going to run on. Let me tell you quickly about that record, about votes that he cast, not crazy things that he said. But he cast votes that support [Diversity, Equity and Inclusion] in our public schools, support defunding our law enforcement, supports boys in girls’ sports, supports transition surgery for minors, supports a state income tax in the state of Texas, supports open border policies.

“So, the votes he’s cast set a record for how challenging he would be for any average Texan. You know, oftentimes you hear President Trump talk about a 90/10 issue, where 90% of the people are lined up on one side, 10% on the other side. Talarico’s votes are on the 10% side.”

How a small-town Arkansas man got God on America's money

And finally, Matthew Rothert Sr., a Presbyterian furniture manufacturer and avid coin collector born in 1904, was at church in Chicago on June 21, 1953, when he believed the Holy Spirit impressed upon him the idea that the phrase "In God We Trust" should be featured on American banknotes as it did on coins, according to his daughter, Alice Rothert Nelson, reports The Christian Post.

She said, "The collection plate was going around, and he felt God tell him that the coins had 'In God We Trust,' but it was the bills that went all around the world. And he believed he should get 'In God We Trust' on the bills of the paper money, and so that started the campaign."

By way of background, "In God We Trust" was first engraved on U.S. coins during the Civil War, after Mark Richards Watkinson, a Baptist minister from Pennsylvania, petitioned then-Treasury Secretary Salmon Chase at the end of 1861 to promote "the recognition of the Almighty God in some form in our coins" amid the fading illusion of a short, relatively bloodless conflict.

Pastor Watkinson told Chase, "You are probably a Christian. What if our Republic were now shattered beyond recognition? Would not the antiquaries, [those who study history], in succeeding centuries, rightly reason, from our part, we were a heathen nation?" He saw the increasingly brutal, intractable war as a divine chastening that could destroy the country.

Expressing hope that honoring God in such a public way "would relieve us from the [disgrace] of heathenism." Watkinson noted, "This would place us openly under the divine protection we have personally claimed. From my heart, I have felt our national shame in disowning God."

Salmon Chase and James Pollock, a Presbyterian minister then serving as director of the U.S. Mint, agreed with Watkinson, ultimately leading Congress to pass a law in April 1864 allowing "In God We Trust" on the one- and two-cent pieces.

Pollock said, “We claim to be a Christian nation—why should we not vindicate our character by honoring the God of Nations. Our national coinage should do this. Its legends and devices should declare our trust in God—in Him who is "King of Kings and Lord of Lords."

AUDIO FROM DIVINE HYMNS: “King of kings and Lord of lords. Glory Hallelujah. King of kings and Lord of lords. Glory Hallelujah.”

Revelation 19:16 says, “On [Christ’s] robe and on His thigh, He has this name written: 'King of kings and Lord of lords.'”

The U.S. Congress passed another law in March 1865 to place the words on all gold and silver coins, which was the last act President Abraham Lincoln signed before his assassination.

Nearly a century later, the motto gained renewed attention when the United States found itself embattled again during the global tensions of the Cold War. Seeing its simple declaration of faith as a necessary contrast to the atheist communism that animated the Soviet Union, Matthew Rothert followed Watkinson's example. He gave speeches, rallied support, and fired off many letters to officials, including President Dwight Eisenhower and Treasury Secretary George Humphrey, urging them to add the phrase to paper money.

In a 1987 interview, Matthew Rothert, at the age of 83, said, "The Lord seemed to tell me to do this. He put the idea so strongly in my mind that I worked on it until I accomplished my goal. I realized the circulation of American coins was limited to the boundaries of the country, while U.S. paper money circulated worldwide. It looked like Americans were saying they trusted in God only a few cents' worth!"

In an unusually swift and bipartisan action, the bill was on President Eisenhower's desk by July 11, 1955. Changing the master dies and printing plates at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to include "In God We Trust" would typically have been too cost-prohibitive, but, providentially, they were already set to be replaced that year to accommodate a new printing process.

180 Christian families denied communal water in India

More than 180 Christian families in 32 villages across Chhattisgarh State in central India have reportedly been denied access to communal water sources and livelihood opportunities for the past three weeks as punishment for refusing to leave their Christian faith, reports International Christian Concern.

Many Christian families in the Antagarh region of the district have been barred from using community rivers, ponds, taps, and hand pumps. At the same time, Christians have been denied work under a government employment scheme. 

2 Timothy 3:12 says, "Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted."

According to Open Doors, India is the 12th most oppressive country worldwide for Christians.

Trump's accelerating squeeze on Cuba

The Trump administration is bracing for the potential collapse of Cuba's totalitarian government as early as this summer, and has war-gamed new military response plans in case the island descends into chaos, reports Axios.

President Trump will keep pushing economic sanctions to try to strangle the regime in Havana in a slow-motion constriction.

This methodical squeezing of Cuba's communist regime is also designed to buy time for Trump — who's now engrossed in peace talks with Iran — to eventually focus on Cuba and decide how to bring about change there.

The Cuba operation aims to eliminate Latin America's source of Marxist agitation and anti-U.S. activism ever since Fidel and Raul Castro led their successful revolution in 1959.

To bring Cuba to its knees this year, the administration first focused on the island's lifeline: Venezuela, which is 1,200-miles south, and its socialist dictator, Nicolás Maduro. Venezuela kept Cuba afloat with shipments of oil that helped power the country and gave it a source of export revenue.

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi has thyroid cancer

Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after her departure from office earlier this year and is now receiving treatment, reports USA Today.

Bondi, age 60, was fired by President Donald Trump in April but is set to return to the Trump administration to serve on an advisory committee on artificial intelligence policy as she battles cancer.

Thyroid cancer results from malignant cells growing in a person’s thyroid gland, the butterfly-shaped gland at the base of your neck that makes hormones, according to the Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic. These hormones regulate how your body uses energy, including metabolism, heart rate and blood pressure.

Jill Biden wondered whether Joe had a stroke mid debate

Remember this pivotal moment in the 2024 presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump?

BIDEN: “Making sure that we continue to strengthen our health care system. Making sure that we're able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I've been able to do with the uh, with the COVID, excuse me, with, um, with dealing with everything we have to do with.  Look, if.  We finally beat Medicare!”

As First Lady Jill Biden watched her husband stumble through the most cringeworthy portion of his disastrous June 2024 debate, she wondered if he had unknowingly ingested drugs or was having a medical episode on live television.

In an upcoming CBS News Sunday Morning interview she said this.

JILL BIDEN: “As I watched it, I thought, ‘He's having a stroke!’ And it scared me to death.”

However, at the time, right after the debate two years ago, Jill Biden said this.

JILL BIDEN: “Joe, you did such a great job! You answered every question. You knew all the facts.”

In her new biography entitled, View From the East Wing, she was far more candid. She wondered, “Is he short-circuiting? Is this a stroke? I felt like we were watching an AI hologram of the man we knew, and the hologram was glitching. Has he been drugged?”

According to The Atlantic, which has seen a preview copy ahead of the June release, Jill Biden wondered, “Will people watching assume this is how he is all the time?”

Bidens fighting to squelch embarrassing audio recordings

Gary Bauer, founder of American Values and the co-host of Family Talk, wrote, “Right now, the Bidens are fighting to prevent closed-door audio recordings of interviews Joe Biden did from being released to the public. Why? Because in those interviews Biden couldn’t remember basic events in his life. He couldn’t remember when he was vice president. He couldn’t remember when his son, Beau, died. He couldn’t remember the advice his generals gave him.”   Bauer concluded, “And we all remember what Special Counsel Robert Hur said. Hur did not charge Biden for keeping classified documents because no jury would convict an ‘elderly man with a poor memory.’ In other words, Joe was not mentally competent to stand trial.”

Teenage worker bees drops to lowest level since 1948

The number of teenagers working jobs this summer is expected to fall to the lowest level since 1948.

The consulting firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas predicts teens will gain 790,000 jobs in May, June, and July. That’s down from 801,000 last summer.

The firm noted, “Rising inflation, climbing oil prices, and a broadly cautious hiring environment are expected to keep the 2026 summer hiring total well below historical averages as employers and consumers rein in spending.”

Welsh preacher John Penry pleaded for Welsh evangelism before execution

And finally, on May 29,1593, 433 years ago today, Welsh Protestant preacher John Penry appealed for Christian pastors to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Wales shortly before his execution under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.

John Penry wept for Wales.

He noted that thousands of Welsh had never heard of Christ. He wrote, “O destitute and forlorn condition! Preaching itself in many parts is unknown. In some places, a sermon is read once in three months.”

Penry proposed a system of lay pastors supported in part with voluntary gifts from the people. His attack on the neglectful behavior of the Church of England won Penry the undying hostility of John Whitgift, the Archbishop of Canterbury, reports the Christian History Institute.

Having become a Puritan Separatist in his thinking, Penry could not accept a state-run system because, "The truth of Christ” could not be in bondage to an “anti-Christian power.” Because of such outspoken views, and his stern warnings to Queen Elizabeth I and her bishops, Penry had to flee.

Because he dared to expose the Church of England for its neglect, John Penry was captured and treated to a travesty of justice. Some strong words of warning against the queen in his notebook were interpreted as treason. Archbishop Whitgift was the first to sign his death warrant.

Penry was hauled off to be hanged on this day, May 29, 1593. A thin scattering of bystanders, none of them his friends, watched as the 34-year old departed this world at the end of a rope about four in the afternoon. He was not allowed to preach a final sermon.

He had, however, written a lengthy letter to his four daughters named Deliverance, Comfort, Safety, and Sure Hope -- who ranged in age between 4 and four months. He implored them to follow the true faith.

James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

Iranian Christian convert gets 10-year prison sentence

A judge in Iran recently sentenced a Christian convert to nearly a decade in prison. That’s according to the Persian-language Human Rights Activists News Agency.

Authorities raided the home of Ghazal Marzban in January. They arrested her and confiscated her Bible. A judge sentenced her to nine years and eight months in prison last week on trumped up charges. 

The 41-year-old Christian woman converted to Christianity from Islam nearly 10 years ago. Since then, she has faced arrest, imprisonment, interrogation, and now another imprisonment. 

Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in Iran. The country is ranked 10th on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most oppressive countries to be a Christian. 

Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

Trump’s Cabinet meeting on war with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump held a cabinet meeting at the White House yesterday about the Iran war. 

The United States and Iran remain in a fragile ceasefire that began last month. President Trump hopes to finish the war through negotiations.

TRUMP: “Iran is very much intent; they want very much to make a deal. So far, they haven't gotten there. We're not satisfied with it, but we will be. Either that or we'll have to just finish the job. Their navy is gone, as I've said a thousand times. Their navy is gone. Their air force is gone. Everything's gone. And they're negotiating on fumes.”

However, the Trump administration is prepared to finish the job with the military if negotiations fail. Listen to comments from War Secretary Pete Hegseth. 

HEGSETH: “Whether it is through the efforts of your negotiators, that they ensure they never have a nuclear weapon, or we have to go back to the War Department to finish the job that way, we're prepared to do that.”

MAGA Ken Paxton trounced Senator John Cornyn in GOP primary

In a rejection of the GOP Establishment in the May 26th Senatorial run-off in Texas, Republican Party voters ousted Senator John Cornyn who has been in the Senate for 23 years, according to World Magazine.  

After President Donald Trump endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton during early voting, he trounced Cornyn, 63% to 36%, reported NBC News.

CORNYN: “After a public service career lasting more than four decades and 18 consecutive campaign wins, tonight we've come up short in this primary runoff. A few years ago, I had a friend of mine say, ‘You know what makes God laugh?’ He said, ‘When we make plans.’”

Without referencing Ken Paxton by name, Senator Cornyn vowed to support him in the general election this November.

CORNYN: “I've spent most of my time in the Senate, building the Republican Party in Texas, and in the U.S. Senate. I've always supported the Republican ticket, and I intend to do so again in this general election. I've said throughout this race that I trust the voters of Texas. They've made their decision, and I must respect it.”

However, Cornyn did throw some shade at the registered Republicans who failed to show up and vote for him.

CORNYN: “In this runoff election, approximately 8% of registered voters made their voices heard. Of that 8% who voted, roughly 60% said they were ready for a different direction. Another reminder that those who show up decide for those who do not.”

Ken Paxton, who has vowed to support the Trump agenda, said this.

PAXTON: “Today, change was on the ballot, and change won.” (applause)

He expressed his gratitude for President Trump’s endorsement.

PAXTON: “When everyone in Washington told him to abandon me and abandon the people of Texas, he didn't listen. Instead, he gave his complete and total endorsement. President Trump is the leader of our party, and his endorsement is the most powerful force in politics. And I'm honored to have his support, and I look forward to working with him in the Senate to deliver for Texas.”

Despite Cornyn and his allies outspending Paxton 9 to 1, Paxton came out on top in this $163 million primary, making it the most expensive primary in U.S. history.

PAXTON: “We went up against $150 million and all the attacks in the world. And you know what happened? The voters declared loud and clear a simple truth that we know in our hearts and in our souls: Texas is not for sale.” (cheers)

Paxton pivoted to the general election and spoke about his Democrat opponent, James Talarico, a 37-year-old Texas State Representative.

PAXTON: “My opponent is the most extreme radical the Democrats have ever nominated. He's even running a ‘vegan’ campaign, whatever that is. (laughter) He goes by a few names that you may all have heard of. Some people know him as ‘Tofu Talarico.’ (laughter)  Some people call him ‘Six-Gender Jimmy.’ (laughter)  I've even heard some people call him ‘James Tala-freak-o.’  (laughter)

“He's a threat to our children. He wants boys in girls’ sports, gender mutilation surgery performed on kids. And, when asked what he loved, outside of his family and friends, his first answer was ‘trans kids.’ That's weird. That's a radical guy.

“He wants the open borders policies of Biden, the woke agenda of AOC. He said, ‘You can't be a Christian if you support the oil and gas industries.’”

Man who gave Abortion Kill Pill to pregnant woman indicted

A Texas jury indicted a man last week in an abortion-related case. 

Twenty-five-year-old Jon Rueben Demeter allegedly gave an abortion-inducing drug to a pregnant woman, killing the unborn baby. 

It’s the first time Texas has criminally charged someone for providing an abortion since banning most abortions in 2022.

Connecticut requires background check for homeschool parents

Connecticut is expanding its regulation of homeschooling in the state.

Democrat Governor Ned Lamont signed Public Act No.26-37 into law on Tuesday. The law requires parents to disclose their intent to homeschool to the state. Also, parents cannot take their children out of public school for homeschooling without undergoing a background check.

James Mason, the president of the Home School Legal Defense Association, said, “By requiring every parent to be pre-screened before they can begin homeschooling, it turns parents from trusted actors into potential risks to be managed.”

42% of Christians don’t talk about God with other believers

And finally, Lifeway Research released analysis of its 2025 State of Discipleship Living Unashamed study.

The survey found that 30 percent of Protestant churchgoers agree with the statement that “Many people who know me are not aware I am a Christian.” That’s up from 14 percent in 2013.

Also, 42 percent of respondents said spiritual matters do not normally come up in daily conversations with other Christians. That’s up from 29 percent in 2013.

Psalm 71:1 and 15, says, “In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! … My mouth will tell of Your righteous acts, of Your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.”

Canadian group penalized for targeting Christians

LifeSiteNews reports that an activist group in Canada recently lost its government funding after being exposed for targeting Christians.

The Canadian Anti-Hate Network gets hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer funding each year. Conservative lawmakers have called out the group for its hostility to Christians and pro-lifers. 

Campaign Life Coalition posted on X, “The Canadian Anti-Hate Network is reportedly out of Canadian Heritage funding. This is welcome news. For years, Canadians have been forced to subsidize an activist organization that has helped fuel suspicion and hostility toward Christians, pro-lifers, and other peaceful citizens.”

Only 34 percent of Canadians say Bible is authoritative

Lifeway Research released its new State of Theology in Canada Study.

The survey found 51 percent of Canadians say that religious belief is not about objective truth. Only 34 percent believe the Bible has the authority to tell us what we must do. 

A majority of Canadian adults believe God accepts the worship of all religions, that most people are good by nature, and that the Bible is not literally true. 

Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, noted, “For most Canadians, the Bible’s teaching on how to live is only as convincing as the Bible itself. When half openly doubt the Bible, it is not surprising that the majority disagree with the Bible on how it says to live.”

Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.”

Alaska could expand access to Abortion Kill Pill

In the United States, Alaska passed legislation last week that could expand access to the Abortion Kill Pill.

House Bill 195 would allow pharmacists to prescribe drugs to individuals, not just administer them. 

Pat Martin is the director of Alaska Right to Life. He warned that the measure would “expand Chemical Abortion (Mifepristone) access from Anchorage and Fairbanks Planned Parenthood sites to virtually every city, town, and village that has a hospital, clinic, or pharmacy.”

Romans 3:15-18 says, “Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Hawaiian officials in hot water for censoring free speech

Officials in Hawaii agreed to pay over $100,000 to settle a free speech lawsuit last week.

The Babylon Bee sued the state over its law that censored online political speech. The Christian news satire site won a similar case in California last year with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom.

Seth Dillon, the CEO of The Babylon Bee, commented on the recent victory in Hawaii. He said, “This settlement marks yet another victory for the First Amendment and for anyone who values the right to speak freely on political matters without government interference.”

Buying power of U.S. workers fell by 3%

Pew Research released a report on American wages compared to the rising cost of living.

In the past 20 years, wages have outpaced inflation. Based on the Consumer Price Index, the median wage’s real buying power grew by 12.1 percent between 1999 and 2025. 

However, over the past five years, the buying power of median wages actually fell by over three percent. This aligns with record inflation levels in recent years. 

Weekly churchgoers have better mental health

And finally, the Wheatley Institute published a report entitled, “The Religion and Mental Health Connection.”

The report reviewed thousands of studies linking religion to better mental health by a 10-to 1 ratio.

Studies found the rates of suicide, depression, and anxiety were lower among people who attended religious services. This was especially true for people who attended services at least weekly. 

The report stated, “It is not nominal affiliation, but committed religious involvement that appears to matter most.”

Hebrews 10:23-25 says to Christians, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Last week, in the days following President Trump’s visit to Beijing, China conducted another threatening military exercise involving 100 vessels off the shores of Taiwan, reports Fox News.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese are even more in support of faux homosexual marriage since the nation legalized the abomination in 2019. The Taiwan Equality Campaign Poll found 54 percent of the population support faux marriage, up from 42 percent seven years ago.

Secret Service killed a gunman outside White House

Another potential attempt on the life of the President occurred on Saturday, May 23rd at 6:00pm, reports NewsNation.com.

The shooter, identified as 21-year-old Nasire Best, was shot and killed by Secret Service agents as he opened fire near a security checkpoint close to the White House at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

The mentally disturbed man reached into a bag, pulled out a weapon, and began firing.

Trump will send 5,000 troops to Poland

President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland. The president noted that his decision was based on the election last year of Poland's conservative President Karol Nawrocki.

Presently, the United States has 80,000 troops stationed in Europe, 10,000 of which are in Poland, according to a Council on Foreign Relations analysis. 

The largest U.S. presence is in Germany, with more than 38,000 troops.

Should recently naturalized citizens hold office?

Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina  who is also running to be the Palmetto State’s next governor, made headlines for introducing a joint resolution to prevent recently naturalized citizens from holding office.

Mace is calling for her resolution to be passed in the form of a constitutional amendment. In her words: “The American people deserve leaders who put America first. This amendment makes sure of it.”

Oklahoma makes it a felony to traffic Abortion Kill Pills

Oklahoma Republican Governor Kevin Stitt signed a bill that makes it a felony to traffic Abortion Kill Pills into the state for the purpose of causing an illegal abortion, reports Newson6.

Punishments range up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine, or both.

Republican State Senator David Bullard commented on the bill. He said, “We have worked hard to eliminate this enslavement of people. The trafficking of the abortion pill is no different than human trafficking and possibly worse. It is the largest killer of babies and the greatest threat to motherhood.” 

Reddest states gain population; Bluest states lose

America’s “reddest” or most conservative states are gaining population and the bluest states are losing fastest.

Last year, South Carolina, Idaho, and Tennessee were the fastest gainers on a resident per capita basis.

By contrast, New York, California, and Maryland were the biggest losers. Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Michigan also lost residents in 2025. Condominium prices sinking across America

Condo prices are sinking fast around the nation.

A Denver condominium peaked at $280,000 in 2022 (adjusted for inflation), up from $165,000 in 2009. Already that $280,000 condo in 2022 (valued in 2009 dollars) has dropped off to a $202,000 value (in 2009 dollars). That’s a 28 percent collapse in just four years.

Florida and California condominium prices are sinking even faster.

Condo prices usually run ahead of other real estate when the bubbles deflate.

U.S. economy is faltering

Americans are more pessimistic than ever concerning their views on the economy, while at the same time Wall Street is more euphoric than ever!

The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index has dipped to an all-time low — the lowest in 65 years of American history.

Meanwhile, the NASDAQ Composite Index has exploded to over 26,300. That’s a whopping 450 percent increase from 10 years ago — at the same time that the nation’s Gross Domestic Product only increased 200 percent. 

Elon Musk on track to become Earth’s first trillionaire

And finally, as of yesterday, Elon Musk’s net worth clocks in at $828 billion, according to the Forbes index. Economists say he’s on his way to become the first trillionaire on Earth, reports The Daily Star.

Elon’s rocket, satellite and Artificial Intelligence empire is officially headed for the U.S. stock market, filing its prospectus with regulators.

Google’s Larry Page and Sergey Brin are hovering around $300 billion, and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos sits at $270 billion on the Forbes billionaire list. Keep in mind the wisdom of Psalm 49:16-17 today: “Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house is increased; For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him.”

Christian families in WA state are free to serve as foster parents

To settle a lawsuit brought by a Washington state couple, state officials agreed to a permanent injunction allowing Christian families to serve as foster parents without promoting so-called “gender ideology,” reports Alliance Defending Freedom.

Washington’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families has agreed to settle a lawsuit over its policies excluding religious families.

The state had enacted a new policy requiring all families to use a child’s chosen pronouns, don’t you know. The state then declined to issue Shane and Jennifer DeGross a full license under this policy because of the couple’s Christian objections to socially “transitioning” children that may be placed in their care, between the ages of 2 and 18.

Jennifer DeGross said this on Fox News.

JENNIFER DEGROSS: “In 2022, we were going through our relicensing process and realized that the state had updated some of their rules regarding foster parents. One of those rules was requiring us to adhere to their ideology regarding gender identity and while we said that we would love and care for any child in our home, those were requirements we just could not abide by as Christians.”

In Matthew 19:4, Jesus said, “Surely, you have read in the Scriptures: When God made the world, 'He made them male and female.”

Johannes Delphonse, an attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “Washington’s policy failed to respect religious diversity because it singled out applicants with traditional religious beliefs on the sanctity of the human body.  The DeGrosses merely asked to be treated the same as any other family—without being asked to compromise their core beliefs.

“This is a win-win because it will ensure more families can serve as foster parents to help meet the needs of every precious child in Washington’s foster-care system.”

Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, resigns

Tulsi Gabbard is resigning from her post as Director of National Intelligence to support her husband, Abraham, through his battle with "an extremely rare form of bone cancer," reports Fox News. She said, “I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.”

Gabbard notified President Donald Trump during a meeting in the Oval Office this past Friday. Her last day is expected to be June 30.

In her formal resignation letter, Gabbard says she is "deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and for the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence for the last year and a half."

During her tenure, Gabbard became one of the most controversial and transformative intelligence leaders in recent memory. She spearheaded efforts to reduce the size of the intelligence community bureaucracy, dismantle diversity and equity programs inside federal intelligence agencies, and declassify hundreds of thousands of pages of government records tied to major historical and political investigations.

Among the most significant disclosures were records connected to the Trump-Russia investigation, the JFK and RFK assassinations, and the origins of the Crossfire Hurricane probe.

MS NOW panel claims SC blacks to be 'disenfranchised' by GOP

And finally, MS NOW host Chris Jansing presided over a discussion of GOP efforts to redraw South Carolina's congressional districts in which her Democrat guests claimed that blacks are being "disenfranchised" in South Carolina, reports Newsbusters.org.

She offered this melodramatic introduction in her interview with South Carolina State Rep. Kambrell Garvin, a black Democrat.

JANSING: “Today, a dramatic warning about voting rights from one North Carolina state senator who told Politico the entire South is on fire. Jim Clyburn accuses Republicans of creating Jim Crow 2.0. Is he right?”

GARVIN: “Absolutely, Chris. It’s starting to feel more like 1966 and not 2026. So, you're talking about over a 100-year period where black folks in South Carolina did not get a chance to have a voice, did not get a chance to have a seat at the table. And now we are facing a situation where it might be another 100 years where African Americans will not be able to have a voice.”

Laughably, neither Chris Jansing nor Rep. Garvin remembered to point out that South Carolinians have elected and re-elected Tim Scott, a Republican black man, as one of their two United States Senators.

Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky was equally blind in her condemnation of South Carolinian voters.

ROGINSKY: “You are now about to see complete eradication of black power in Congress. It is precisely because of these kinds of places. White voters will not vote for black representatives. I call it racism, but the reality is the reality, which is that we are going to have many, many, many fewer representatives of color.”

Pakistani Muslim man abducts and marries 14-year-old Christian girl

A married Pakistani Muslim, 41-year-old Arshad Habib, who already had three wives, abducted a 14-year-old Christian girl on May 12th. He forcibly converted her to Islam and married her, exploiting her epilepsy and mental health vulnerabilities to sexually abuse her, reports Morning Star News.

The girl’s father, Abbas Masih, a daily wage laborer and member of a local Brethren church in Lahore, the Pakistani capital, said his daughter, Nisha, disappeared on May 12th while working as a domestic helper at a Muslim household.

Police showed the father documents claiming Nisha had converted to Islam on February 15 and married Habib three days later.

According to Open Doors, Pakistan is the eighth most oppressive country worldwide for Christians.

Jeff Bezos: We don’t have a tax problem. We have a spending problem.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, gave CNBC co-anchor Andrew Sorkin a reality check on how ludicrous the Left’s tax-the-rich scheme really is when measured up against the data during the May 20th edition of Squawk Box, reports NewsBusters.org.

Sorkin tried cornering Bezos on the bevy of headlines in the media excoriating billionaires, decrying their wealth accumulation, and vilifying them for supposedly not paying their fair share in taxes.

Bezos was not fazed.

BEZOS: “I think what's going on is that it's kind of a tale of two economies. So, you have a bunch of people in this country who are doing really well. But you also have a bunch of people in this country who are struggling -- rent, groceries. 

“A nurse in Queens, who makes $75,000 a year, pays more than $12,000 a year in taxes. Does that really make sense? How about we start by having the nurse in Queens not pay taxes at all. 

“The bottom half of income earners in this country pay only 3% of the taxes. The top 1% of taxpayers pay 40% of all the tax revenue. We don't have a revenue problem in this country. We actually have a spending problem.”

Jeff Bezos gave an example of how spending more money is not necessarily an iron-clad guarantee of fixing a problem.

BEZOS: “The New York City school system: They spend $44,000 per student. That's 30% more per student than other big cities like Chicago, L.A., and Boston. And it's three times more than Miami and Houston. By the way, New York City doesn't get better outcomes. 

“If we ran Amazon the way New York City runs their school system, your packages would take six weeks to arrive, we'd have to charge you a $100 delivery fee, and then, when the package did finally arrive, it'd have the wrong item in it anyway.”

Homosexual former Congressman Barney Frank died

Former Democratic Congressman Barney Frank of Massachusetts, a self-avowed homosexual, died May 19th at the age of 86 after entering hospice care at his home in Maine last month due to congestive heart failure, reports The Western Journal.

According to The New York Times, he came out of the sexual perversion closet publicly in an interview with The Boston Globe in the spring of 1987, saying, "If you ask the direct question: 'Are you gay?' the answer is: 'Yes. So what?' "

He was the first open homosexual in Congress and the first one to be faux married in July 2012. Frank met his faux “husband,” Jim Ready, 30 years his junior, at a homosexual political fundraiser in Maine.  

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press in March 2015, Congressman Frank was asked this question by Chuck Todd.

TODD:  “You're trying to answer this conundrum. Gay rights were once reviled publicly and Congress was revered. Now, those attitudes have flipped. How did that happen?”

FRANK: “Our reality, as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people, beat the prejudice. The essential mechanism is there, that we stopped hiding. And it turned out we weren't what the stereotype was. 

“There was a point when the notion that I could get married to Jim [Ready] while I was still in Congress, would have been the most bizarre possibility. And by the time I got married, someone said, ‘Well, was it controversial that you get married while you were still in Congress?’ And the answer was, ‘Yes, it was. A lot of my colleagues were mad that they didn't get invited.’”

TODD: (laughs)

In an attempt to deflect from the importance of legislating morality on social issues, like homosexual faux marriage and abortion, Congressman Frank said, “The issue is not that morals be applied to public policy. It's that conservatives bring public policy to spheres of our lives where it should not enter.”

But Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.”

Barney Frank retired from Congress in 2013 and went on to serve as a political commentator, writer, and public figure.

Colorado teacher prohibited 7th grader from reading pro-life poem in class

And finally, a Colorado teacher at Drake Middle School refused to allow a seventh-grade student to present her pro-life poem in class because it was deemed “offensive,” reports LifeSiteNews.com.

GIRL: “My teacher assigned an assignment in class to write a slam poem about a conflict in the world that we are passionate about. I chose life. I chose this topic because it's important to me and my family. In my poem, I met all of the criteria. I got reputable resources. And I included everything that I needed in my poem.”

The opening of the 13-year-old’s poem said,

“A life is a life, no matter how small.

Seventy-three million people have been killed in one year when they are completely innocent humans.

They never get to see the light of day before they are cast away. 

They did nothing wrong except exist and were dismissed.

People say women need health care but never think how unfair.

They kill baby for simply being there!

The Word of God says [in Psalm 139:13], ‘You knit me together in my mother’s womb.’ 

How come we never listen to this and try to send them to the tomb?”

The teacher reportedly tried to kick the girl out of class during other students’ presentations which slammed the Second Amendment and championed sexual perversion. 

The girl’s mother said her own mother became pregnant at age 14 and chose life, resulting in strong pro-life convictions in her own family.

Finnish member of Parliament appeals religious liberty ruling

A Finnish member of Parliament is appealing her religious freedom case to the European Court of Human Rights. 

Finland’s Supreme Court convicted Päivi Räsänen of hate speech in March. Her offense was writing a pamphlet about biblical sexuality 20 years ago. Alliance Defending Freedom International announced this month that she is making a final appeal in her case. 

Räsänen commented, “The failure of the Finnish Supreme Court to uphold freedom of speech has set a dangerous precedent in my country and across Europe. ... I know I am not alone in facing unjust persecution under ‘hate speech’ laws that make sharing Christian beliefs a criminal offense.” 

French legislature rejects legalization of suicide

French lawmakers rejected a bill to legalize assisted suicide last week. 

The measure would even impose prison terms and heavy fines on people deemed to be obstructing access to assisted suicide. 

Bruno Retailleau leads the conservative Les Républicains Party in France. The lawmaker argued against the bill, saying, “We cannot support a text that, in the name of a misguided progressivism, risks sacrificing the most vulnerable among us to the cold logic of budgetary constraints and legal precedents.”

Franklin Graham preached to 30,000 people in Belarus

On May 16th, Evangelist Franklin Graham shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with over 30,000 people in Minsk, Belarus which is located in Eastern Europe with Russia to the east, Ukraine to the south and Poland to the west.

GRAHAM: “Lying is a sin. We have all have lied. So, we're sinners. We've broken God's laws. We're under a judgment. We're under a death sentence. The wages of sin is death.”

Indeed, Romans 6:23 declares, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

It was reportedly the largest Evangelical event ever in the Eastern European country. Hundreds of people turned to Christ during the event.

Graham wrote about one unique conversion story. He said, “One man shared that he had planned to end his life last Tuesday, but was not successful. He came tonight, heard the Gospel, and found true hope by putting his faith and trust in Christ.”

John 3:17 says, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through Him, might be saved.”

Secretary of State Rubio blames Cuban problems on Communism

Yesterday was Cuban Independence Day. It’s the 124th anniversary of the birth of the Republic of Cuba.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio marked the day by sharing a Spanish-language video message with the people of Cuba. 

RUBIO: “The reason you are forced to survive 22 hours a day without electricity is not due to an oil ‘blockade’ by the U.S. As you know, better than anyone, you have been suffering from blackouts for years. The real reason you don’t have electricity, fuel, or food is because those who control your country have plundered billions of dollars, but nothing has been used to help the people.

“Thirty years ago, Raúl Castro founded a company called GAESA. This company is owned and operated by the Armed Forces, and has revenues three times greater than your current government’s budget. Today, while you suffer, these businessmen have $18 billion dollars in assets and control 70% of Cuba’s economy.”

Rubio blamed the country’s economic hardship on its communist leadership.

He stated, “President Trump is offering a new relationship between the U.S. and Cuba. … First, we are offering $100 million dollars in food and medicine for you, the people. But they must be distributed directly to the Cuban people by the Catholic Church or other trusted charitable groups. Not stolen by [government-run businesses] to sell in one of their stores.”

Trump’s endorsement defeats Rep. Thomas Massie in Kentucky

In the United States, Republican Trump-backed candidates won their primaries on Tuesday. 

Most notably, U.S. House candidate Ed Gallrein won a primary in Kentucky against Rep. Thomas Massie. Gallrein won 54.9 percent to 45.1 percent. Massie was an outspoken critic of some of President Trump’s actions like the war with Iran. 

The race cost $32 million, making it the most expensive contest for the U.S. House of Representatives in history. 

U.S. parents more likely to identify as Christian than non-parents

The American Bible Society released the second chapter of its report, “State of the Bible: USA 2026.”

The survey evaluated parenting and faith. Notably, Gen Z and Millennial parents are much more likely to identify as Christians than people their age who are not parents. Over 60 percent of parents from the younger generations call themselves Christians. Meanwhile, less than 50 percent of non-parents do the same.  

Among parents, 29 percent pray with their children regularly and 14 percent read the Bible with them regularly. Those numbers more than doubled among parents who are practicing Christians.

Nigerian Muslims killed 13 Christians including three pregnant mothers

Morning Star News reports that Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed 13 Christians in central Nigeria on May 8. 

Unbelievably, the gunmen killed three pregnant women. They also injured dozens of Christians and displaced hundreds more. Such attacks are common in Nigeria’s Plateau State.

A leader at Evangelical Church Winning All commented on the recent killings of Christians. He said, “They were martyrs whose lives were claimed by the ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria. They died exactly where they chose to stand in the line of duty, lamps burning, voices lifted, refusing to abandon the post God had given them.”

In Revelation 2:10-11, Jesus said, “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. … He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”

Top ISIS leader killed in northeast Nigeria

U.S. and Nigerian forces killed a top ISIS leader in northeastern Nigeria over the weekend.

Abu-Bilal al-Minuki was the second-in-command of the Islamic State. The terrorist planned many attacks and hostage events, especially attacks on Christians.

On Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote, “He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans. With his removal, ISIS’s global operation is greatly diminished.”

Texas Children’s Hospital ended transgender surgeries last week

In the United States, Texas Children’s Hospital agreed to end its transgender operations on minors last week. The Department of Justice, in coordination with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, secured the historic settlement. 

The hospital agreed to pay $10 million in damages for performing mutilating procedures on children. Five doctors at the hospital lost their jobs as part of the settlement. 

Texas Children’s Hospital will now establish the first-ever de-transition clinic. The clinic will provide care for the victims of transgender drugs and surgeries. 

Trump created $1.7 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund

The Trump administration created a $1.7 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” this week.   

The fund would compensate Americans who faced unjust investigations and prosecutions by the Biden Justice Department.

TRUMP: “This is reimbursing people that were horribly treated, horribly treated. It's anti-weaponization. They've been weaponized,. They've been, in some cases, imprisoned wrongly. I mean, it was a terrible period of time in the history of our country.”

37% of U.S. adults say religion is gaining influence in American life

A new survey from Pew Research asked Americans what they think about religion in government and public life. 

The survey found that 37 percent of U.S. adults say religion is gaining influence in American life. That’s up 19 percentage points over the last two years. And just over half of Americans have a positive view of religion’s influence. 

Also, 17 percent of respondents say the federal government should declare Christianity the official religion of the U.S. That’s up from 13 percent in 2024.

Council of Nicaea affirmed doctrine of Trinity 1,700 years ago

And finally, this month marks the anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, over 1,700 years ago.

In late May A.D. 325, 300 Christian leaders convened in the city of Nicaea, located in modern-day Turkey. 

The council dealt with the doctrine of the Trinity. In particular, the church at the time had to refute the heresy of Arianism. The heretical teaching denied that Jesus is fully and eternally divine. 

The council went on to affirm the divinity of Christ in the Nicene Creed. It is recited by churches around the world to this day. 

The creed says there is “one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by Whom all things were made.”

John 1:1 and 4 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

Another British preacher arrested in London

Another British pastor has been arrested for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the streets of London.  

Pastor Steve Maile was singing, preaching the Good News, and calling on Muslims to be saved when he was arrested by the police.  Pastor Steve told Fox News Digital, "It's called inciting religious hatred — which is false. … The cross of Christ is a message of hope, love, mercy, and reconciliation to a fallen world. ... How could that be hate?"

Not much has changed since the Prophet Amos spoke these words: “They hate the one who rebukes in the gate, and they abhor the one who speaks uprightly.” (Amos 5:10)

Three Christian pastors killed in Manipur, India The Manipur, Indian Baptist Convention is condemning the death of friend and pastor Reverend Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, who was shot and killed along with Pastors Lhouvum and Paogoulen in an ambush which took place on May 13th.

Manipur State is located in Northeast India in a mostly hilly area, where the percentage of Christians has risen from 19% in 1960 to 41% in 2011, equaling the percentage of Hindus which dropped from 62% to 41%.

The Baptist group noted “This senseless violence is a grave attack on humanity, peace, and religious harmony. The tragic loss of such devoted leaders who dedicated their lives to serving God, the Church, and society, is not only a loss to the Christian community, but also to the people of Manipur as a whole.”  

The Worldview received pictures of the scene from Christians who witnessed the killings.

The Baptist Convention is pleading with the government of India to “seriously look into the matter to conduct an immediate and impartial investigation, and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice without delay.”

Ebola virus outbreak claims 80 lives in Uganda

Another Ebola virus outbreak has surfaced in Congo, Africa. So far, 80 people died this time.

At least two cases of Ebola have been detected in Kampala, Uganda as well, according to the World Health Organization. That's the worst outbreak since 2020.

Those who contract the Ebola virus have a 50% chance of dying.

Right-wing Vox Party makes gains in Spain

The far-right, nationalist Vox Party gained some ground in Spain’s election over the weekend. 

The conservative party will be forced to build a ruling coalition with the Nationalists to establish a new government for that European nation.

At last count, 15 European nations have experienced a surge in anti-immigrant nationalism. However, that’s not necessarily a return to Christian values or pro-life values.

Death tolls in the U.S.-Iran War and Russ-Ukrainian War

Here’s an updated list of death tolls for recent wars.

* 3,000 deaths in Lebanon as reported by the BBC.

* 1,700 Iranian citizens are reported to have been killed in the recent US-Israeli war on Iran.

* Thirteen U.S. military personnel also gave up their lives in this war.  

* While estimates vary for the Russian-Ukrainian War, the best estimates we can find are 16,000 Ukrainian civilians and about 400 Russian civilians have been killed in that war. Worse yet, anywhere from hundreds of thousands to 3,000,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers have given up their lives in this conflict. 

Jeremiah 25:32-33 speaks of God giving nations over to the devastation of war: “Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, disaster shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the farthest parts of the Earth. And, at that day, the slain of the Lord shall be from one end of the Earth even to the other end of the Earth.”

Two teens killed three at Islamic Center in San Diego

On May 18th, two teenagers killed three adults at the Islamic Center of San Diego including two staff members and a security guard, reports Fox News.

San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said that the two suspects involved in the shooting, ages 17 and 19, are both dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

He also added these additional details.

WAHL: “At about 11:43am, we received a call of an active shooter at the Islamic Center. Within four minutes, officers arrived on scene and observed immediately three deceased, what appeared to be deceased, victims out in front. They immediately began to deploy with an active shooter response into the mosque and adjacent school.”

Wahl said the security guard “played a pivotal role” in preventing the attack from becoming even worse.

GOP Senator Bill Cassidy lost primary in Louisiana

Louisiana Republican Senator Bill Cassidy was ousted in Saturday’s primary election. The longtime senator came in with a dismal 25% support.  He had served as a Congressman for six years and a Senator for 11 years.

Cassidy was known for both his reluctance to support the Trump agenda and challenging Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his confirmation to be Health and Human Services Secretary.  

Plus, Cassidy was one of seven GOP senators to vote to convict President Trump in his second impeachment trial on February 13, 2021 after he had already finished his first term. The vote was 57-43.

Louisiana Republicans will now pick between Congresswoman Julia Letlow, whom Trump endorsed, and State Treasurer John Fleming in the upcoming run-off since neither one secure 50-plus percent of the vote.

New acting FDA Commissioner worked as Planned Parenthood attorney

The new Acting Commissioner for the Food and Drug Administration, Kyle Diamantas, previously worked as an attorney for Planned Parenthood. Now he says he regrets taking on the role.

Diamantas told Live Action that he was assigned a case for Planned Parenthood, and, despite his opposition to abortion, he took the case. However, he later regretted his decision and asked to be recused.

Diamantas also confirmed that a review of the Abortion Kill Pill is a top priority for the department. Deficits and cost of living in America are up

And finally, the U.S. Office of Budget and Management is estimating a national deficit of $2 trillion for this fiscal year. That’s up 15% from Fiscal Year 2025 — the last year for which the Biden administration was responsible.  

The Core Producer Price Index for this country has topped 5.2% —on a steady increase since last summer. The Producer Price Index stood at 2% in January of 2024, before the 2024 elections. 

Food prices are up 32% since 2020. That’s an annualized whopping 4.7% per year — a pinch on the average middle class family.

Daughter of imprisoned Chinese pastor urges his release

Before he left for the Chinese-American summit in Beijing, President Donald Trump said that he would advocate for the release of Pastor Ezra Jin of the underground Zion Church who was arrested in October 2025 during a massive Communist crackdown against the body of Christ.

In a recent interview on Fox News Channel, Grace Drexel, his daughter, who emigrated to America several years ago, spoke about her father’s church.

DREXEL: “My father's church was one of the largest independent churches in China, and for that reason they came after my father. The charge against them was the illegal use of information networks, because he was hosting his services, both online and offline, having smaller groups meet together.”

She described Pastor Jin’s character.

DREXEL: “My father is a pastor in China, and, like Christians everywhere, he believed that the church should only have one God and serve one God. He led his church in order to be faithful to Scripture and faithful to his beliefs.

“Ultimately, I know my father as just a very gentle and kind man. He is not very confrontational.  This kind and gentle man is now in prison. They handcuffed him and shaved his hair, and is not getting his medication that he needs -- all because he was just leading a church.”

Grace was counting on U.S. President Trump to negotiate her father’s release from his unjust imprisonment with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

DREXEL: “We hope that, as the two leaders are meeting together, that they will both have a softening of the hearts and will release my father and allow him to come to the U.S.”

According to President Trump, President Jinping was “going to strongly consider the pastor,” reports The Hill.com.

Grace Drexel, Pastor Jin’s daughter, advocated for the release of hundreds of other pastors who have also been unfairly imprisoned for their faith in Jesus Christ.

DREXEL: “We see that this is not an isolated case. There are so many pastors and church leaders and churches being persecuted in China actively today. In fact, we know that there are hundreds of pastors that are currently in prison, or are in detention, or have recently, very recently, been released. This is a very critical period in China, and it's very disheartening and very scary for many Christians in China.”

Church of Scotland sees surge of converts amid “deep spiritual hunger”

The Church of Scotland in the United Kingdom has seen a surge of converts since the COVID-19 pandemic amid what one clergyman called "a deep spiritual hunger,” reports The Christian Post.

In 2025, 820 people in the denomination affirmed faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ, which is nearly double the 428 people who did so in 2021, according to official church figures.

In a May 8th report, church leaders wrote, "We are seeing evidence of increased Bible engagement, renewed interest in spiritual questions, growing church attendance, and more young people and young adults coming to faith with confidence."

Rev. David Cameron noted that 3,292 Scotts have professed faith in Christ between 2021 and 2025. He said, "I believe this growth reflects the fact that, even in uncertain times, there remains a deep spiritual hunger within our parishes."

The new conversions come amid a wider decline in membership in the Church of Scotland, whose approximately 229,000 members recorded at the end of 2025 indicated a fall of 5% from 2024, primarily because of death.

The Church of Scotland, which was established in the 16th century as a Reformed, Presbyterian denomination, differs from the Church of England in that it does not recognize the British monarch as its political head.

Sadly, in 2016 the Scottish church rejetced clear Biblical teaching and allowed its clergy to enter into faux homosexual marriages and civil partnerships. Then, in May 2022, the Church of Scotland General Assembly voted in favor of permitting the church's clergy to conduct homosexual faux marriages, reported the BBC.

Romans 1:26-27 says, “God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.  In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.”

Supreme Court allows Abortion Kill Pill to continue to be sent by mail

Here in the United States, on May 14th, the Supreme Court ruled to allow the Abortion Kill Pill to continue to be sent through the mail.

It trumped the May 1st ruling by a federal appeals court in Louisiana which had barred the mailing of mifepristone, one of two drugs used in medication abortions, which is the preferred murder method that 63% of mothers choose who wish to abort their children.

To their credit, Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito both dissented. Alito contended that “[w]hat is at stake is the perpetration of a scheme to undermine our decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization,” the court’s 2022 decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Gov. DeSantis vs. House Minority Leader Jeffries on redistricting

Ever since the Virginia Supreme Court rejected the unconstitutional redistricting in Virginia where Republicans would only be left with one of 11 Congressional seats, Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has been discouraging Florida Republican politicians from doing their own redistricting, reports The Hill.com.

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis got a kick out Congressman Jeffries’ rhetoric.

DeSANTIS: “I heard this guy, Jeffries, popping off in Washington, about Florida. He wants to be Speaker of the House, and he's more liberal than [Nancy] Pelosi from New York City. We're going to go after Florida. Please be my guest. I will pay for you to come down to Florida and campaign. I'll put you up in the Florida governor's mansion. We'll take you fishing.

“There's nothing that could be better for Republicans in Florida than to see Hakeem Jeffries everywhere around this state. Voters will not like what they see. They will not want that type of ideology. And so, the door is open. The invitation is out there. I don't think there would be anything better for the Republican Party of Florida, but to have Jeffries there.

“Now, I kind of feel bad for the guy, because he's as left as they come. He's always going left, and yet the Far Left hates him. You know, they call him a ‘Dollar Store Obama.’”

On May 15th, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal of Virginia Democrats to revive their lopsided redistricting plan, reports Politico.com.

Missionary Sheldon Jackson felt compelled to share Gospel

And finally, 192 years ago today, Sheldon Jackson was born in 1834.  He wanted to become a missionary overseas, but the Presbyterian board told the five-foot-tall Jackson, who had weak eyesight and was often ill, that he would be better suited for duty in the United States.  Jackson's first assignment was at the Choctaw mission in Oklahoma Territory, where he worked until poor health forced him to go back East in 1859.

In the summer of 1869, Jackson went on a missionary tour using the railroad and stage lines, establishing a church a day.

Jackson found his major life's work in the new territory of Alaska with 20,000 miles of coastline. In 1867, Secretary of State William Seward, during the administration of President Andrew Johnson, had negotiated the Alaska Purchase from Russia.  

In 1877, Jackson began his work in Alaska. He became committed to the Christian, educational, and economic wellbeing of the Alaska Natives.  He famously said, “I must work the works of Him Who sent me while it is yet day,” adapting the command of John 9:4.  The Scripture says, “As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.”

Ultimately, he travelled one million miles and established more than one hundred missions and churches, mostly in the Western United States.

Vietnamese Communists arrest four Christians

On May 12th, Vietnamese Communist authorities arrested four clergy and lay leaders accused of sharing documentation of human rights abuses online, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

The group was also indicted for associating with Dr Nguyễn Đình Thắng, the president of Boat People SOS, a Vietnamese-American human rights group, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison in absentia in April on false terrorism charges for his alleged role in the 2023 Dak Lak uprising. 

While two of the four were released, the others remain behind bars.

Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You, [God], are with me; Your rod and staff, they comfort me.”

China’s Jinping warns Trump about Taiwan

On May 14th, Chinese President Xi Jinping warned U.S. President Donald Trump that the two countries could clash over Taiwan if the issue was not handled properly, reports the Associated Press.

The exchange at a highly anticipated summit in Beijing underscored just how far apart Trump and Jinping remain on thorny issues, including the war in Iran, trade disputes and Washington's relations with Taiwan, which is self-ruled but which China claims as part of its territory.

The pair met for about two hours behind closed doors at the Great Hall of the People after an elaborate welcome ceremony featuring booming cannons, a band playing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and China’s national anthem, and hundreds of school children waving flowers and American and Chinese flags.

President Trump’s opening remarks were optimistic.

TRUMP: “President Xi, I want to thank you very much. We've had a fantastic relationship. We've gotten along. When there were difficulties, we worked it out. I would call you, and you would call me, and whenever we had a problem, people don't know, whenever we had a problem, we worked it out very quickly.

“I have such respect for China, the job you've done. You're a great leader. I say it to everybody. You're a great leader. Sometimes people don't like me saying it, but I say it anyway, because it's true. I only say the truth.

“And I just want to say on behalf of all of the great delegation that we have. We have the greatest businessmen. Every single one of them. We asked the top 30 in the world. Every single one of them said, ‘Yes,’ and they look forward to trade and doing business. It's going to be totally reciprocal on our behalf. It's an honor to be with you.

“It's an honor to be your friend. The relationship between China and the USA is going to be better than ever before.”

Trump’s pick for Federal Reserve Chairman confirmed

President Trump's pick to lead the Federal Reserve won Senate confirmation on May 13th, just in time to officially take over as the leader of the central bank, reports National Public Radio.

Trump is hoping Kevin Warsh can lead the Fed into much lower interest rates — but the president could be frustrated by persistent inflation.

Warsh was confirmed on a 54-45 vote, mostly along party lines.

Prior to the vote, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a Republican from South Dakota, spoke from the Senate floor and shared an overview of Kevin Warsh’s biography and questioned why the Democrats have objected to his nomination.

THUNE: “He credits his knowledge of the real economy to growing up in upstate New York, where his dad ran a children's clothing store and manufacturing company. From Shaker High School, he went on to Stanford University and then Harvard Law School. He then started a career on Wall Street, but he shifted to public service, joining the Bush administration's economic policy team in 2002.

“Four years later, President Bush nominated him to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. At age 35, Kevin Warsh was unanimously confirmed here in the Senate and became the youngest governor in the history of the Federal Reserve. Being the youngest person to take a seat in the Federal Reserve's boardroom is impressive enough, but Kevin Warsh didn't just take a seat. He was a key player during the time he was on the board.

“Kevin Warsh seems to have just the profile of a Federal Reserve Chairman, yet Democrats oppose his nomination. For the first time in its history, the Banking Committee reported out a nominee for Fed chairman on a party line vote because every single Democrat opposed Mr. Warsh’s nomination, and actually only one Democrat was even present for the vote.

“The other 10 Democrats on the Banking Committee didn't even bother to show up for it. I wish I could say I'm surprised, but this is just how bad Trump Derangement Syndrome has gotten on the other side of the aisle. Democrats won't say so, but that's what it is.”

Kevin Warsh has argued there's room to lower rates, but he also promised to use his own judgment in setting monetary policy — and not to take orders from the White House. Warsh denied charges from Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts that he would be Trump's "sock puppet."

Warsh will replace Jerome Powell, who has led the Fed since 2018. Although Trump appointed Powell to the job, he has relentlessly criticized the outgoing Fed chairman for not moving more aggressively to lower borrowing costs. Powell's term as chairman ends today.

In a break with tradition, Powell will remain on the Fed's governing board for a period of time after stepping down as chairman. That's unusual since Fed chairs typically leave the central bank when their term as the head is done. But Powell is determined to safeguard the institution from political pressure.

He has vowed to keep a low profile and not overshadow Warsh. But Powell will continue to have a vote on the 12-member committee that sets interest rates.

Missionary John Vassar commissioned as evangelist

And finally, on May 15, 1850, John Vassar—often referred to as "Uncle" John—was formally commissioned as an evangelist for the American Tract Society of New York.

Following a distinct conversion experience at the age of 28, Vassar left his family’s prominent brewing business in Poughkeepsie, New York, to dedicate his life to soul-winning.  As an agent for the American Tract Society, he traveled extensively, selling and distributing Christian literature.

Known for his intense earnestness, he was described as a "living fire" who would ask everyone he met about their relationship with Christ. He became one of the most powerful personal evangelists of the 19th century. 

Isaiah 52:7 says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’”

Later in John Vassar's career, in 1863, he was commissioned to work among soldiers during the Civil War. Upon being captured, he famously asked Confederate General Jeb Stuart, "General, do you love Jesus?"

Chinese communists arrest 6 Christians for teaching Sunday School

Communist authorities in southwest China recently arrested six Christians for conducting Sunday school classes.

The Christians face charges of “organizing minors to engage in activities undermining public order.”

Dr. Bob Fu, founder and president of ChinaAid, said, “This case — both the charges and the process — mark a shocking new phase in China’s persecution of religious minorities. … Criminalizing Sunday School and the peaceful sharing of faith with children is an outrageous abuse of law and a direct assault on the fundamental rights of parents and churches.”

In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.”

Trump to talk to Chinese president about imprisoned Christians

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing, China yesterday. 

He plans to discuss Taiwan, trade, and the Iran war with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

President Trump said he would also discuss recent and high profile cases of Christians being imprisoned in China. Listen to his comments first about pro-democracy publisher Jimmy Lai followed by comments about Pastor Ezra Jin.

TRUMP: “Jimmy Lai, he caused lots of turmoil for China. He tried to do the right thing. He wasn't successful, went to jail, and people would like him out. And I'd like to see him get out too. I'll bring him up again. I have brought him up.

“And there's another gentleman, a pastor, as you know, with a beautiful daughter and son-in-law, that would like to see him get out. I'm going to bring his name up.”

California mayor resigns after spying for China

In the United States, a California mayor resigned on Monday, May 11th, after acting as an agent for the Chinese government. 

The Justice Department recently charged Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia, with acting as an illegal agent for China. Arcadia is located 13 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

Wang agreed to plead guilty to the charges. She worked on behalf of Chinese officials by promoting their propaganda in the United States.

FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X, “FBI and our federal partners continue to move aggressively to root out this kind of influence in American institutions all over the country.”

Businesses abandoning California over high taxes and regulation

More businesses are exiting California for states with lower taxes and less regulations. 

The latest example is KB Home, reports The Washington Times. The American homebuilding company is moving its headquarters from Los Angeles to Tempe, Arizona. 

Other major companies that have relocated their headquarters out of California include Oracle, Tesla, Chevron, Charles Schwab, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The most popular destination states include Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Nevada, and Florida. 

Proverbs 29:2 reminds us, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom is on the wrong side of that equation.

Texas town is 97th American city to ban abortion

Life News reports a Texas town became the 97th city in America to ban abortion.

The City of Muleshoe, Texas voted 4-1 on Monday, May 11th, to adopt the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance. 

Mark Lee Dickson, founder of Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn, said, “This vote would not have been possible without the residents who gathered signatures and stood for the protection of pregnant mothers and unborn children. Muleshoe has now joined dozens of Texas communities taking a stand against abortion trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable women and children.”

U.S. overdose drug deaths fell last year

The number of reported drug overdose deaths fell in the United States last year.

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention found there were over 68,000 drug overdose deaths in 2025. That number is down 14 percent compared to the previous year. However, overdose deaths are up 30 percent from a decade ago. 

The states with the biggest drop in overdose deaths last year included New York, Virginia, and Oregon. But a few states saw a significant uptick in such overdose deaths, including New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado.  

White House hosts 9-hour prayer event on National Mall

And finally, the White House is hosting a nine-hour prayer event at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Sunday. 

The event is called Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving. It’s one of many events this year to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Top U.S. officials speaking at the prayer event include Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The event’s website describes the jubilee as a “historic gathering to give thanks for God's providence, reflect on our nation's story, and rededicate America as One Nation under God.”

Mexican cartel violence forces families to flee

The Mexican state of Guerrero is seeing major drug cartel violence from the group Los Ardillos, forcing families and local citizens to flee.

Mexican national forces are almost nowhere to be seen in the region, and according to Marina Velascho, representative of the People’s Indigenous Council of Guerrero, “These have been days of terror. They’ve been bombing communities with drones, and how can one defend themselves from a drone, with bombs falling from the sky.” 

Elderly Protestant missionary kidnapped by Mexican drug thugs

The recent violence in the Mexican state of Guerrero is also affecting Christians.

Benito Guevara Arcos, a 79-year-old Protestant missionary, disappeared from the area in recent weeks. An organized criminal group had kidnapped the missionary after taking exception to his preaching.

Sadly, disappearances in Mexico have surged over 200 percent in the last decade. Anna Stangl with Christian Solidarity Worldwide said, “We urge the Mexican government, at all levels, to increase efforts to arrest the influence of organized criminal groups in the country, recognizing the specific threat that these groups pose to religious leaders.”

In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” 

Trump lumps in radical transgenders with Islamic terrorists

In the United States, the Trump administration is cracking down on transgender ideology and the radical left.

Transgenderism is identified as a major threat in the United States’ newly released Counterterrorism Strategy for 2026. Far left groups have been placed on a watch list.

The document stated, “In addition to cartels and Islamist terror groups, our national count terrorism activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist.” 

Marty Makary, who oversaw generic Abortion Kill Pill, out at FDA

Dr. Marty Makary is out as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, reports The Western Journal.

He announced his resignation Tuesday, May 12th, amid policy differences with President Donald Trump and prominent Republican senators, reports Politico. Kyle Diamantas, who previously worked as the top food official at the agency, will lead the FDA in an acting capacity.

Makary has received backlash for his handling of the Abortion Kill Pill and vaccines.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, had called for Makary to be ousted. She wrote, “This is a five-alarm crisis for the pro-life movement and for the GOP. The GOP cannot win without its base and simply will not get the enthusiasm that drives turnout without leadership from the top.”

Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri tweeted, “This is welcome news. Dr. Makary was uniquely destructive to the pro-life movement. He attempted to place pro-abortion lawyers in key positions. He slow-walked a vitally necessary review of the abortion drug mifepristone. He used his discretion to approve a new abortion drug when the data shows it sends 1 in 10 women to the emergency room. He froze out prolife leaders and repeatedly stonewalled Congress. His resignation is an opportunity for the FDA to reset.”

Southwest Airlines paid $1 million to fired pro-life stewardess

Life News reports that Southwest Airlines paid nearly one million dollars to a pro-life stewardess last week.

Charlene Carter had worked as a flight attendant for over 20 years. In 2017, she sent a message to the Transport Workers Union, protesting its support for abortion. She sued after the union and Southwest Airlines fired her for her pro-life speech. The recent settlement ends a nine-year legal battle.

The National Right to Work Foundation represented Carter in the lawsuit. Listen to comments from Mark Mix, the president of National Right to Work Foundation.

MIX: “What ended up as a long battle ended up well for Charlene Carter, and hopefully spreads the word to other employees that want to speak up on issues related to their beliefs and their ideas. The union can't thwart that. And that's what this case is all about.”

Prices continue to skyrocket

The prices of goods and services in the U.S. continued to rise last month. 

The Labor Department reported inflation was up 3.8 percent in April compared to a year earlier. It’s the biggest annual increase since 2023.

Meanwhile, wages only grew 3.6 percent from April last year. This means inflation outpaced wage growth for the first time since 2023.

Since the Iran war, Americans are seeing higher prices particularly for gasoline, electricity, and food. 

50% of 18 to 24-year-old Christians are reading Bible weekly

And finally, a new report found young Christians are engaging with the Bible more than older generations.

The Patmos Youth Report surveyed nearly 30,000 young respondents around the world. 

The report found half of Christians aged 18-24 read the Bible on a weekly basis. That level of Bible engagement is higher than older generations.

Bible engagement was particularly high in the regions of Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.  

Psalm 144:12 and 15 says, “May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace . . . Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!”

Muslims severed hands of Christian convert

Muslims are persecuting more Christians in Uganda, Africa even though Islamists make up only 13% of the population.   

A Christian convert was subjected to the severing of both hands when his family found out about his attending Christian services.  Morning Star News reports that 40-year-old Kalegeya Faruku is still undergoing medical treatment from the ordeal that occurred at his family home in Jinja three weeks ago.

Please, pray for the persecuted.

North Korea will use nukes if Kim Jong Un is assassinated

South Korea’s National Intelligence Service has just disclosed North Korea’s change in policy on the use of nuclear weapons.  

As of March 22nd, the North Korean government revised its constitution to command a nuclear strike if the nation’s leader, Kim Jong Un, is assassinated, reports the New York Post.

The policy change came after Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed by a military strike on February 28, 2026.

Big shake-up in the United Kingdom parliament

The Reform UK Party made major gains in last week’s regional elections in the United Kingdom. 

Even though it was not a national election, the Reform Party came out with 30% of the seats while the Conservative Party represents 17%.  The remaining 53% are divvied up by the more left-wing parties:  22% for Labour, 18% for Liberal Democrats, and 12% for the Greens.

The right turns more nationalist and populist. The left remains, well, I guess we can say -- left. For the record, the Labour Party lost 18%, and the Conservatives lost 7% in the political bloodbath.

Reform Party leader Nigel Farage hailed the wins against both the Labour Party and establishment conservatives.

In a 4-3 ruling on May 8th, the Virginia Supreme Court rejected the state’s new Congressional maps, which could have given Virginia Democrats ten seats, leaving the Republicans with only one in the U.S. Congress.

Republican State Senator Ryan McDougle celebrated the decision, while also blasting Democrats for trying to go around the law.

MCDOUGLE:  “You cannot violate the Constitution in order to change the constitution. The Supreme Court made that clear. Voters had a choice of what was on the ballot. Voters did not have a choice of whether the constitutional law was followed.”

Virginia Democrats are planning to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court, but it is unclear if they will even get a hearing. 

Value of gold and the price of an average home

Back in 1971, when gold was $35 an ounce, you could pay for a median-priced home with 714 ounces of gold.

Now that gold prices are hovering around $4,700 per ounce, a median-priced home would cost you about 85 ounces of gold.

Does the number of mortgage lenders reveal troubled economy?

Since 2022, employees working for non-bank mortgage lenders have dropped by 40%. That’s the lowest level in recorded history, even lower than the 2009-2010 housing crash. 

Wolfstreet.com reports that existing home sales have reached the lowest level since 1995.

Democrat-run states are in worst financial condition

American state governments are facing serious budget shortfalls. . . driving up their spending power per gross state income ratios.

Nine of the 10 states in the worst financial condition are Democrat-run states -- the worst of which are California, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and New York. 

Scammers swindled $16 billion from Americans in 2025

And finally, here’s a helpful update for you on financial scams.

The U.S. scamming “industry” hit $16 billion last year, up 22% compared to the previous year.  That’s four times the value of property stolen in burglaries. Be informed. Protect your family from this criminal activity.

The most common scams include the “advanced fee” scam where you’re promised some kind of benefit -- a government grant, an inheritance, or some prize with a catch. They ask for a payment up front before you can receive your benefit.  Or there is the “tech support” scam.  You receive a call or a message online from what appears to be a company like Microsoft or some anti-virus company. They tell you they can fix the problem for a fee lest you lose all your data. Some scams will phish for your data, asking for your Social Security number, credit card number, bank account info, or passwords. Whatever you do, do not give out that data, even if they claim to be from a trusted source, Emergency scams or grandparent scams.

The voice pretends to be a grandchild or close relative with a problem.  . . They may use a familiar phone number on the caller ID, and drop some information they found about the person on the internet. Remember, caller IDs can be easily faked. Just ask a few questions. They will ask for money. Don’t give it to them, without asking a few questions to confirm the identity first. Then there are the IRS and FBI scammers, the toll road scammers, the foreign money exchange scammers, the counterfeit cashier’s check scam, and banking scams.  Customers are told to move their money to a safer account. Scammers are almost always working on emotions, getting you frazzled, so you will make a quick and imprudent decision.

Micah 6:10-12 speaks of this: “Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked and the short measure that is an abomination? Shall I count pure those with the wicked scales, and with the bag of deceitful weights?  For her, rich men are full of violence. Her inhabitants have spoken lies and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.”

Nigeria’s $10 million genocide cover-up

A disturbing new report from International Christian Concern highlights how Nigeria’s government is weaponizing misinformation to hide a decades-long campaign of violence against Christians.

Written by ICC Fellow Justin Joseph, “Nigeria’s $10 Million Genocide Cover-Up” reveals how power, politics, and propaganda are fueling a human catastrophe. Since 2009, at least 190,150 Nigerians — 128,750 of whom were Christians — have been murdered in ethno-religious killings, with the slaughter escalating in 2026. Yet, instead of addressing the crisis, officials are spinning a dangerous narrative.

During meetings with other heads of state, Nigerian President Bola Tinubu claims the terrorism plaguing his nation stems solely from climate change and regional instability. Researchers have repeatedly debunked this reasoning, pointing to the targeting of Christian communities.

Tinubu’s administration has launched a $10 million lobbying front to silence human rights accountability in the U.S. and whitewash the genocide of Nigerian Christians.

Prosperity gospel champion Joni Lamb died

Joni Lamb, a Prosperity Gospel enthusiast and co-founder of the Daystar Television Network, died on May 7th at the age of 65, reports Christian Daily.

Lamb had been privately battling serious health issues before suffering a recent back injury that significantly worsened her condition in recent days.

Founded in 1993 alongside her late husband, Marcus Lamb, Daystar Television grew from a small Christian television station into one of the world’s largest Christian broadcasting networks, with 100 stations worldwide, employing 300 staff, and bringing in $100 million annually.

On December 1, 2010, Marcus Lamb confessed on Daystar Television to having had an affair which Joni initially described, reported ABC News.

JONI LAMB: “Several years ago, Marcus and I went through a challenge in our marriage. I discovered that he was having an emotional relationship, if you will, with someone. It had turned into an improper relationship.”

MARCUS LAMB: “I take 100% responsibility. Joni has no blame. The other person doesn't have any blame. It's all --- I don't even blame the devil. It's all on me.

”I'm so sorry. I've asked God to forgive me. Years ago, I asked my precious Joni. And when with this first came out, I said to her, I said, ‘Honey, I only want us to stay together if we really love one another, not for the ministry’s sake, not even for our kids’ sake. Ladies and gentlemen, I love this woman.”

The reason they announced this affair is because they were being threatened with blackmail.

JONI LAMB: “There actually are three people who were not involved in what we're talking about today or affected by our marital challenge. They're now saying, that unless Daystar pays them $7.5 million, that they're going to take our story, that we just shared with you, to the media.”

MARCUS LAMB: “You see these three people, that Joni shared with you, they're trying to take our pain and turn it to their gain. Ladies and gentlemen, we're not going to take God's money and pay to keep from being, uh, humiliated, I guess, or exposed or exploited, whatever you want to call it.”

Subsequently, Marcus died at the age of 64 on November 30, 2021 after contracting COVID-19.

According to MinistryWatch, in 2020, the ministry used a $3.9 million Paycheck Protection Program loan, offered to pay the salaries of employees, to buy a private airplane, which the family used for vacations, reported Inside Edition. That loan was reportedly paid back after Inside Edition began asking questions about it.

Over the years, Joni Lamb became one of the most recognizable faces in Christian media.  Unfortunately, Daystar frequently featured prosperity-oriented themes such as:

• financial blessing tied to faith and giving,
• “seed faith” donations,
• and testimonies of material and personal success through faith.

Joni and her late husband Marcus Lamb regularly hosted ministers connected to the Prosperity Gospel movement, including:

• Creflo Dollar
• Jesse Duplantis
• Paula White
• and Benny Hinn

James 3:1 says, “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.”

And, in another controversy involving Daystar Television, Joni’s son, Jonathan, claimed that his mother covered up the sexual abuse of his 5-year-old daughter by a relative, according to the Roys Report. While Jonathan had been Daystar Television’s vice president, he was demoted to a manager position for refusing to sign a non-disclosure agreement. 

On May 8th, The Economic Times reported that Joni’s daughter-in-law, Suzy, who is married to Jonathan, stated online, “We weren’t informed of anything,” claiming relatives knew Joni Lamb was dying the night before her death but “didn’t call Jonathan to come say goodbye.”

Joni Lamb is survived by her second husband, Doug Weiss, and her three children — Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca.

Pastor Sam Allberry resigns after “inappropriate” relationship with man

And finally, a Tennessee pastor and advocate for Christians who suffer from so-called “same-sex attraction” has stepped down after revealing an “inappropriate” relationship with a man some years ago, reports Beliefnet.com.

Pastor Sam Allberry, author of Is God Anti-Gay?, stepped down from his position as an associate pastor at Immanuel Church Nashville, a nondenominational, independent congregation after what the church called “a serious breach of trust.”

In a statement put out by the church elders, it stated Allberry had informed the church in 2024 of an “inappropriate relationship” with a man in 2022. The statement noted that the relationship had concluded prior to Allberry being called to his position in the church in 2023. At the time, the church stated it conducted a “thorough investigation” of the relationship and concluded that it was not “disqualifying” for the position.

In a February 15, 2017 statement, Sam Allberry said this.

ALLBERRY: “Sam Allberry, Oxford. I am same-sex attracted and have been my entire life. By that I mean that I have sexual, romantic and deep emotional attractions to people of the same sex.

“I choose to describe myself this way because sexuality is not a matter of identity for me, and that has become good news. My primary sense of worth and fulfillment as a human being is not contingent on being romantically or sexually fulfilled, and this is liberating.

“The most fully human and complete person who ever lived was Jesus Christ. He never married, He was never in a romantic relationship, and never had sex. If we say these things are intrinsic to human fulfillment, we are calling our Savior, subhuman.”

When news broke last week about Sam Allberry’s inappropriate relationship with a man, The Gospel Coalition, a group of pastors and churches that “put the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of all activities,” immediately announced that it would be removing all of Sam Allberry’s content from its website and channels.

By contrast, Living Out, the organization co-founded by Allberry to encourage Christians to “live out their sexuality and identity in ways that enable all to flourish in Christ-like faithfulness,” took a different position.

In an online statement, they confirmed that Allberry’s “many past contributions to this site retain their value, and they will not be taken down”, adding that the organization “exists because of people like Sam, for people like Sam.”

Four Christian leaders most closely associated with Sam Alberry include Ray Ortlund, Russell Moore, Preston Sprinkle, and the late Ravi Zacharias.

Romans 1:24, 26-28 says, “Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. …

“Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

“Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.”

Three North Korean prisoners to receive human rights award

Three Korean missionaries detained for more than a decade in North Korea will receive the Graciela Fernandez Meijide Human Rights Award in August in absentia, reports International Christian Concern.

The three men — missionary Choi Chun-gil, age 70, missionary Kim Jong-Uk, age 62, and Pastor Kim Kuk-gi, age 72— were helping North Korean defectors and underground churches in Northeast China before North Korean agents arrested them and took them to jails inside North Korea. 

North Korea sentenced the three men to life in a North Korean labor camp. The South Korean government has repeatedly called for the missionaries’ release.

Analysts estimate that more than 30,000 Christians are currently suffering in these camps where they are overworked, starved, and tortured. Not surprisingly, North Korea denies the existence of such camps.

According to Open Doors, North Korea is the most oppressive country worldwide for Christians.

Vatican: Homosexual couples are not guilty of sin

The new Vatican synod report published May 5th has just dropped a bombshell, reports LifeSiteNews.com.

It said, “Sin, at its root, does not consist in the same-sex couple relationship.” Instead, the document suggests sin is merely a lack of faith in God. Homosexual relationships are presented by the Vatican through glowing testimonies.

The document takes specific aim at Courage, a Catholic group established for the support of those with homosexual attraction who wish to live chastely and in accord with Catholic Church teaching. 

And the report openly questions whether such unions could be considered analogous to marriage.  It asks whether homosexual “relationships” can be thought of as equal “to heterosexual conjugal union,” despite “the evident impossibility of procreation.”

This is not a fringe document. It comes from a synodal study group operating with Vatican approval.

But Leviticus 18:22 could not be more clear. “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.”

US launches strikes on two Iranian targets

On May 7th,  U.S. Central Command confirmed military action within the Strait of Hormuz, saying American forces intercepted “unprovoked Iranian attacks” and struck back amid claims by Tehran that the Trump administration had violated a fragile ceasefire, reports NewsNation.com.

According to Fox News, U.S. officials said Qeshm Port in the Strait of Hormuz and the port city of Bandar Abbas were struck. Plus, Iran’s Bandar Kargan naval checkpoint in Minab was also hit.

CENTCOM officials said Iran launched missiles, drones, and small boats on three U.S. guided-missile destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz headed to the Gulf of Oman. In response, U.S. forces “eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this.

RUBIO:  “As President Trump has said, and the facts clearly bear out, the United States of America holds all the cards. There is no scenario here in which, if they decide to join a ladder of escalation, they wind up getting the last say.

Mark Hamill of “Star Wars” posted image of dead President Trump

Mark Hamill, the actor best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the original “Star Wars” trilogy of the 1970s and ’80s, posted an image on May 6th that got the White House’s attention, reports The Western Journal.

The image, posted to Hamill’s account on the social media platform BlueSky, showed President Donald Trump lying in a grave, hands folded, with a headstone that read “Donald J. Trump, 1946-2024.”

Hamill wrote, “If only he should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes. Long enough to realize he’ll be disgraced in the history books, forevermore.”

Meanwhile, on the social media platform X, the official White House Rapid Response account, called Hamill “one sick individual.”

Then, the White House linked Hamill-style rhetoric to other disturbing events, saying, “These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves. This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.”

Texas Governor pressures waterpark to cancel Muslim-only event

A planned celebration of a Muslim-only day at the Epic Waters waterpark in Grand Prairie, Texas has been canceled after backlash over religious discrimination, reports Fox4News.

The Epic Waters waterpark had planned to hold a private event throughout the park on June 1st to celebrate Eid al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice and the second of two main festivals in Islam. It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac as an act of obedience to God's command.

When The Worldview first reported the story of the Muslim-only, waterpark-wide event, Cathy Blake of Fate, Texas emailed the Epic Waters leadership.

She wrote, “I see you are hosting a Muslim celebration and closing the park to non-Muslims, which is religious discrimination. But, since you probably don't see it that way, and are wanting to be inclusive, I'm wondering what day the park will be available for only Jews or only Christians as those two religions are two of the most practiced religions in America, alongside Islam. Please let me know the date so I can plan my summer accordingly.”

When Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott heard about the event, he sent a letter to the City of Grand Prairie in which he threatened to pull $530,000 in public safety grants if the city held the event. The letter states that the event was being advertised as "Muslim Only" before changing its advertisements to state only a requirement of a modest dress code would be enforced.

Governor Abbott wrote, "The event purports to be public-facing and discriminatory at the same time: All Muslims—but only Muslims—may attend. An event at a city-owned pool that was publicly and indiscriminately advertised as ‘Whites only’ would surely violate the Constitution.”

On May 6, officials with the City of Grand Prairie wrote, "After further review and in the best interest of the City of Grand Prairie, the June 1st event at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark has been canceled."

The organizer, Dr. Aminah Knight, noted that 600 people attended the event last year and she was “deeply disappointed.”

In 1816, there was a significant demand for Bibles in the United States following the American Revolutionary War.  The importation of Bibles from England had ceased, leading to a shortage as the nation sought to foster religious revival.

Since then, it has distributed hundreds of millions of Bibles in thousands of languages worldwide.

The first President of the American Bible Society was Elias Boudinot, who had been President of the Continental Congress from 1782 to 1783. John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, was named the Bible Society president in 1821. And Francis Scott Key, the writer of the United States' national anthem, served as a Vice President from 1817 until his death in 1843.

German authorities upset with Christian YouTubers

Officials in Germany are investigating two Christian YouTubers for criticizing Islam.

The two young men, Niko and Tino, run a YouTube channel called Eternal Life. They published a video titled “Islam is no peace” in 2024. 

The Hamburg Public Prosecutor’s Office is now investigating both of them for allegedly violating Article 166 of the German Criminal Code. Violations are punishable by up to three years in prison.   

Tino told Apollo News last month, “I don’t understand what they’re trying to investigate. … People shouldn’t have to be afraid to express their opinions and profess their faith in Jesus Christ.” 

Israel created Special Envoy to Christians over lost credibility

The government of Israel created a position of Special Envoy to the Christian World last month.

Israel’s ties with Christians churches have deteriorated after several recent incidents. In one case, Israeli soldiers destroyed a statue of Jesus in southern Lebanon. In another, Israeli police prevented services at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday during the Iran war. 

Israel also wants to build ties with young Christian leaders and influencers. The Foreign Ministry plans to bring thousands of these leaders to the country by the end of this year.  

Vivek Ramaswamy won Ohio GOP primary for governor

In the United States, Ohio and Indiana held primary elections on Tuesday. 

Tech billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy won the Republican primary for governor of Ohio.

RAMASWAMY: “We have an historic opportunity to lead Ohio to be the top state in the country, to raise a young family, to give our kids a world class education, and to be the state where we revive this quaint idea that we call the American dream.

“And tonight that is very personal to me. My parents came halfway around the world to Cincinnati, Ohio, half a century ago, with nothing to their name. I went to public schools through eighth grade because private schools were not on the table for us. I went to St. X for high school.

“My dad worked for a five-figure salary for most of his career at the G.E. plant right off I-75 in Evendale. My mom worked at the V.A. taking care of nursing home patients as well.

“And now, after having founded thankfully successful businesses, in a position to call myself the Republican nominee for governor in the very state where I was born and raised. That is the American Dream that makes American exceptionalism possible. I know that American dream exists because I have lived it in this state.”

Vivek Ramaswamy will face Democrat Amy Acton in November to replace current Republican Governor Mike DeWine.

In Indiana, President Donald Trump endorsed seven challengers to state senators who opposed his redistricting plan. A majority of those Trump-backed candidates won their primaries.  

Illinois dropped pro-abortion amendment from ballot

Officials in Illinois recently dropped a pro-abortion amendment from this year’s ballot measures.

The amendment would have enshrined the murder of unborn babies as a right in the state’s constitution. The Chicago Tribune described the development as a “rare pro-life victory” in the pro-abortion state.

Despite this, LifeSiteNews notes, “Illinois is the leading national hub providing abortions for women who live in states where abortion is banned.”

Americans fear running out of money more than dying

Americans are more afraid of running out of money than they are of dying.

That’s according to a new study by Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America.

The survey found that 67% of Americans say they worry more about running out of money than death. That’s up 10 percentage points from 2022. 

Not surprisingly, a recent Gallup poll found that the top financial concern of American families is the high cost of living. 

In Matthew 6:33-34, Jesus said “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

CNN founder Ted Turner has died

Ted Turner, the founder of CNN, died yesterday at the age of 87.

The Ohio-born businessman revolutionized television news. At CNN, he started the first 24-hour cable news channel.

The network wrote yesterday, “Turner was also an internationally known yachtsman; a philanthropist who founded the United Nations Foundation; an activist who sought the worldwide elimination of nuclear weapons; and a conservationist who became one of the foremost landowners in the United States.”

Turner was married and divorced three times. He endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He was also known for making derogatory remarks about Christians and pro-lifers. 

In a July 1989 Los Angeles Times article, Ted Turner called pro-lifers “bozos” and laughably claimed that pro-lifers believe that “sex was sinful.”  He also said, “A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.”

More GenZers claim to be Christians and read their Bibles

And finally, Dr. George Barna released new research on the spirituality of Gen Z, the youngest adult generation in America.

The report found that more members of the generation are claiming to be Christians. That figure is up five percentage points over the past four years. Similarly, weekly Bible reading is up 10 percentage points. 

However, Gen Z also has the lowest biblical worldview level of any American generation. 

Dr. Barna said, “Our research indicates that many young adults are seeking an authentic Christian experience, initially through religious practices, such as attending church services. Many of them are attempting to evaluate what Christianity has to offer without understanding the biblical principles that promote and support those religious practices.”

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Nigerian Muslim militias killed 9 Christians

Over the past week, Muslim gunmen killed at least nine Christians in a spree of attacks across central Nigeria.

Others were injured or abducted in the attacks. Fulani Ethnic Muslim Militias also destroyed nearly 100 acres of farmland. 

International Christian Concern stated, “Residents across affected areas are now reporting attacks on mining routes and farming communities, vital sources of income for many families. Local leaders are urgently calling for reinforced security deployments and thorough investigations into the escalating incidents.”

Nigeria is ranked seventh on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most difficult countries in which to be a Christian. 

United Kingdom court rules in favor of 80-year-old pro-life activist

A High Court judge in the United Kingdom ruled in favor of a pro-life activist last month.

The case began in 2023 when David Skinner sent an email to public authorities in Dorset in South West England. The pro-lifer expressed his opposition to a new buffer zone law that restricted speech near abortion mills. He also included images of babies that had been killed in abortion. 

Authorities responded by charging Skinner under communications legislation. However, the recent ruling overturned that conviction. 

Eighty-year-old Skinner commented, “This prosecution should never have been brought. It has taken a heavy toll on me, but I hope this ruling will protect others who wish to speak out peacefully on matters of conscience without fear of being criminalized.”

Proverbs 24:11 says, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.”

75th anniversary of National Day of Prayer on May 7th

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 7th, is the 75th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer in the United States.

Christians are hosting tens of thousands of prayer events across the country. The day culminates in a prayer service broadcast from Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Many leaders are attending the event, including House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Kathy Branzell, president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, told CBN News about the theme of this year’s event.

BRANZELL: “Our theme this year is glorify God among the nations, seeking Him in all generations, in this 75th year and the 250th of America, even though to other nations, we might still seem like a baby. That's been a long 250 for us. But all glory to God before we get too puffed up in our patriotism and all of that we want to make sure we say, Thank You Lord, it is only by him shedding His grace on us.”

The theme verse for the event is 1 Chronicles 16:24. It says, “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”

America owes more debt than it produces

The Wall Street Journal reports the United States. now owes more than it produces.

The national debt reached $31.265 trillion last week. Meanwhile, the country’s gross domestic product, the total of the country’s products and services, was $31.216 trillion over the last year. That means U.S. debt now exceeds 100% of GDP.

The debt-to-GDP ratio has not been this high since the 1940s.

First religious charter school in America

A Christian school in Tennessee received approval for what could become the first religious charter school in the U.S.

Last week, the Jackson-Madison County School Board approved a charter school application from Union University, a private Christian college.

A similar attempt to create the first religious charter school failed in Oklahoma. The case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court last year.

Southern Baptist Convention membership dropped by 3%

And finally, Lifeway Research released analysis on the Southern Baptist Convention yesterday.

Their membership fell by over three percent from 2024 to 2025. Total membership stands at about 12.3 million.

Weekly attendance at Southern Baptist Convention churches averages nearly 4.5 million people each week. That figure is up by over three percent compared to 2024. The number of baptisms also increased last year by five percent. 

Jeff Iorg, President and CEO of the SBC Executive Committee, said, “We are grateful Southern Baptists continue to show growth in key metrics like baptisms, worship attendance and Bible study participation.”

Kenyan Somalis killed 7 Kenyan Christian farmers

On April 25th, International Christian Concern reports that Muslim Somali herders killed seven Christian farmers in Kitui County, Kenya in a raid.

The raiders left behind burned homes, scattered belongings, and families struggling to come to terms with the loss. Local church leaders said many of the affected families are now dealing with loss on multiple levels, including loved ones, homes, and livelihoods. 

Remember Jesus’s words in Revelation 2:10.  He said, “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

War with Iran has cost America $70 billion

The cost of war in Iran continues to rise.

The Trump administration announced that the war has cost $25 billion, but that does not include the cost to rebuild destroyed military bases in the Middle East.

The Iran War Cost Tracker has the cost of the war pegged at more than $70 billion. That is more than $1 billion dollars a day. 

Trump removed 300,000 illegals from Social Security rolls

The Trump administration is working to reform Social Security by removing illegal aliens off the rolls.

TRUMP: “Together with the Republicans in Congress, we've removed nearly 300,000 illegal aliens from the Social Security roles. (applause and cheers) And we've removed more than 100,000 migrants from Medicare eligibility: 100,000 and the number is going up.

“What we're really doing is saving Social Security because it was so rife with fraud.”

Supreme Court rules against race-based Congressional districts

In a blockbuster decision, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against apportioning congressional districts by race, effectively neutering a portion of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. 

Following the decision, a flurry of Republican states, including

Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida began working towards redistricting in favor of Republicans. 

However, Democrats are planning their own redistricting efforts, as both parties remain deadlocked in midterm election jockeying. 

Supreme Court temporarily allows mail-order abortion drugs

In other Supreme Court headlines, it issued an administrative stay on Monday of a lower court ruling, which would have put a stop to the mail order program for the Abortion Kill Pill.  

The administrative order will hold for a week, while the court gives the Food and Drug Administration opportunity to respond. 

U.S. public school enrollment is down

Public school enrollment is down in the United States — a 900,000-person drop over the last decade.  

During the same period, Edunomics Lab reports that staffing has actually increased by about the same amount -- 700,000 people or about 12%, ironically.

The government school monopoly spends $1 trillion per year on their program, averaging $17,000 per student.  Per student costs, adjusted for inflation, have doubled since 1980.

$17,000 cost-per-public schooler vs. $1,600 per homeschooler

The Homeschool Legal Defense Association surveyed 4,000 homeschool families and found the per-child costs for homeschooling an elementary school student runs around $1,300, and $1,600 for a middle and high school student.

That means a family with five children saves the state $85,000 per year in education costs, and then, spends $7,000 of their own money doing it.

America’s property tax revolt

There is somewhat of a property tax revolt going on across the country.  Florida lawmakers are proposing an end to local government property tax.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott has suggested something similar. And the states of Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Wyoming have other initiatives in process to reform property tax in favor of the taxpayers.

1 Samuel 8 speaks of this tyranny: “[Samuel] said, ‘This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons. … He will take your daughters. … He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage. … And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.”

Gas prices have doubled since February

U.S. gas prices have almost doubled since late February.

Now the average price sits at $4.46 per gallon, up from $2.84 a gallon just two months ago.

Idaho requires teachers/doctors to tell parents if child has gender issues

The state of Idaho passed a bill that requires teachers and doctors to tell parents if their child is experiencing gender dysphoria.

The law, signed by Republican Governor Brad Little, seeks to combat ways in which a child may secretly appear to be the other sex without parental approval. 

Republican State Senator Ben Toews stated, “A loophole was left in the [previous] law, and it did not mention social transitions, the process by which vulnerable children are led into the pipeline.”

Violations of the new law could lead to steep fines and potential loss of professional licenses.

Barbie Director to direct Netflix Narnia film

Greta Gerwig is directing the next Narnia film, The Magician’s Nephew, to be produced by Netflix, which is expected to be released on February 12, 2027. 

Gerwig is best known for her director role in the feminist film “Barbie.”  The first three Narnia movies yielded a worldwide box office total of $1.8 billion.

Texas waterpark celebrates Islamic festival by restricting park to Muslims There’s a $90 million taxpayer-funded waterpark in Grand Prairie, Texas called Epic Waters which is now celebrating the Islamic holiday of  Eid-al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice and the second of two main festivals in Islam.  It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command. 

The Epic Waters park will be restricting the park to Muslims, allowing only Halal food to be sold, and requiring head-to-toe Muslim dress for all swimmers.

90-year-old pro-lifer calls for end to F.A.C.E. Act

And finally, Eva Edl, a 90-year-old woman who was placed in a Soviet death camp at a young age, is urging Congress to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or F.A.C.E. Act, after she was convicted and put in prison under the Biden administration. 

Pro-abortion advocates have used the F.A.C.E. Act to jail and silence pro-lifers.

Christians in Afghanistan have to remain invisible to survive

Being known as a Christian in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan brings lethal danger. In this country of 44 million people, Muslims comprise more than 99.7% of the population, reports International Christian Concern.

Not long after the Taliban retook control of Afghanistan in August 2021, they declared that no Christians were remaining in the country.

Though the Taliban claimed no Christians remained, Christians still exist—surviving only by remaining invisible. The Taliban reportedly searched door to door and through smartphones, hunting for any signs of Christian conversion. This reality highlights the core argument: Afghan Christians must stay hidden to survive.

The situation also became highly precarious for other religious minorities, including Sikhs, Hindus, and the country’s last Jewish resident.

According to Open Doors, Afghanistan is the 11th most dangerous country for Christians worldwide.

In John 15:19, Jesus said to His disciples, “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

Trump withdraws 5,000 troops from Germany

The United States will withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany in the next six to 12 months, the Pentagon said Friday, fulfilling President Donald Trump's threat as he clashes with the German leader over the U.S. war with Iran, reports the Associated Press.

Trump had threatened to withdraw some troops from the NATO ally earlier this week after German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the U.S. was being “humiliated” by the Iranian leadership and criticized Washington’s lack of strategy in the war.

Germany hosts several U.S. military facilities, including the headquarters of its European and Africa commands, Ramstein Air Base and a medical center in Landstuhl, where casualties from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were treated. U.S. nuclear missiles are also stationed in the country.

The number of troops leaving Germany would be 14% of the 36,000 American service members stationed there.

News of the troop withdrawal drew swift pushback from Democrats in Congress as well as a hawkish Washington think tank. They said the move will benefit Russian President Vladimir Putin and weaken U.S. security interests.

Bradley Bowman, a scholar at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said the U.S. military's presence in Germany and elsewhere in Europe “not only strengthens deterrence against additional Kremlin aggression but also facilitates the projection of American military power into the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Africa.”

Federal appeals court blocks mail-order abortion pills

Ready for some great pro-life news?

On May 1st, a federal court issued a ruling that temporarily blocked the ability to send the Abortion Kill Pill by mail. Of American mothers who abort, 63% choose to use abortion drugs. If ultimately upheld, this decision could save tens of thousands of babies from abortions, reports LifeNews.com.

A panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans temporarily blocked a Biden administration rule allowing the abortion drug, mifepristone, to be dispensed through the mail.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, called the ruling “a huge victory for victims and survivors of Biden’s reckless mail-order abortion drug regime. We are so grateful for the tenacity of [Louisiana] Attorney General Liz Murrill, abortion drug coercion survivor Rosalie Markezich, and all our allies demanding action.

“Women and children suffer and state sovereignty is violated every day the Food and Drug Administration allows abortion drugs to flood the mail – harms that are no mere accident, but predictable outcomes of the FDA’s unscientific removal of safeguards like in-person doctor visits.”

Republican State candidate found dead

An investigation is underway into the death of a Republican state Senate candidate in Oklahoma who was found dead in his pickup truck on April 30th in a wildlife refuge, reports The Western Journal.

Barry Christian, a candidate for state Senate District 38, had disappeared on April 28th, according to KOCO-TV.

The Beckham County Sheriff’s Office said a hunter reported to authorities that he had seen the wreck of a pickup truck that appeared to have crashed off a high ridge.

149th anniversary of God's locust miracle in Minnesota

And finally, from 1873 to 1877, grasshoppers, also known as locusts, destroyed hundreds of thousands of acres of crops in Minnesota, leaving eggs in the soil for the next season.

On April 26, 1877, Minnesota Republican Governor John Pillsbury declared a statewide day of prayer and fasting to combat a devastating four-year Rocky Mountain locust plague, which was threatening widespread starvation.  Schools and businesses closed, with many residents taking the day seriously, asking God for deliverance.

Shortly after the day of prayer, an unseasonable cold snap and snow arrived, freezing and killing millions of hatching larvae grasshopper nymphs. It was divine intervention. God answered their prayers.

Prayer At The Heart invites 1 million Christians to pray for an unbeliever

Speaking of the power of prayer, Prayer At The Heart, a group founded in 2021, to pray for America, launched 50 days of prayer, inviting one million Christians to pray for the salvations of a friend or loved one through May 24th.

Franklin Graham said, “The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association desires to express its appreciation and support for the efforts of Prayer At The Heart to see one million people come to Christ by Pentecost Sunday, 2026. This could be the beginning of the spiritual awakening our nation so desperately needs, a renewal found only in Jesus Christ.”

United Nations urges Pakistan to ban forced conversions and marriages

On April 22nd, a United Nations-appointed body urged Pakistan to intensify efforts to eradicate Islamic forced conversions and marriages, noting that young Christian girls consistently fall victim to Islamist coercion, reports MorningStarNews.org.

To prevent forced conversions and marriages, Pakistan was urged to raise the minimum age of marriage to 18 across all territories, criminalize forced religious conversion, and enforce laws related to human trafficking and sexual violence.

Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet run to evil. … They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.”

Hegseth to Democrat: “Your hatred for President Trump blinds you.”

War Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a blistering rebuke to Democratic Rep. John Garamendi of California, slamming the congressman for labeling the conflict in Iran a "quagmire" during a heated exchange, reports the New York Post.

HEGSETH: "When I said reckless, feckless, and defeatist of congressional Democrats at the beginning that came after watching you say the same thing on CNN this morning: ‘a quagmire.’

“My generation served in a ‘quagmire’ in Iraq and Afghanistan. Years and years of nebulous missions and utopian nation-building that led us to nothing.

“The way you stain the troops when you tell them two months in, Congressman, you should know better. Shame on you! Calling this a quagmire two months in. The effort, what they've undertaken, the success on the battlefield that creates strategic opportunities. The courage of a president to confront a nuclear Iran. And you call it a quagmire, handing propaganda to our enemies.

“Shame on you for that statement and statements like that are reckless to our troops. Don't say, ‘I support the troops.’ on one hand, and then, a two-month mission is a ‘quagmire.’ Who are you cheering for here? Who you pulling for?

“Our troops are doing incredible work. They've done incredible things for the entirety of this mission and achieved incredible battlefield successes. And you sit there, and go on TV for your click bait, about ‘quagmires.’ It undermines the mission.

“Your hatred for President Trump blinds you to the truth of the success of this mission and the historic stakes that the President is addressing which the American people support.”

GOP Congressman to pro-abort: “What’s your favorite form of abortion?”

On April 21st, a judiciary hearing in the House of Representatives grew tense when Republican Congressman Brandon Gill of Texas pressed American University scholar Jessica Waters in graphic detail on which abortion procedure she would list as her favorite, reported FoxNews.

GILL: “You're an advocate for abortion, for abortion policy. What's your favorite type of abortion?”

WATERS: “I am an advocate for patients having access to the full realm of reproductive health care.”

GILL: “But do you have a preferred method of abortion that you like?”

WATERS: “I do not.”

GILL: “Let me read through a couple different methods, and I want to get your take on how much you like these. The first type is called a suction abortion. This is when the cervix is dilated and a strong suction, 29 times the power of a household vacuum cleaner, tears the baby's body apart and sucks it through the hose into a container. Do you prefer that method?”

WATERS: “I stand by my former testimony.”

GILL: “That sounds kind of gross, doesn't it? It sounds pretty gruesome. Do you agree? It does to me.”

WATERS: “I stand by, um, how I answered your question fully and accurately.”

GILL: “Okay. What about this one? This one is called dilation and curettage. After dilation of the cervix, a sharp, looped knife is inserted into the uterus. The baby's body is cut into pieces and extracted, often by suction. Do you prefer that method?”

WATERS: “What I believe we are here to talk about today is the [Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances] Act. We are not here to talk about the legality of …”

GILL: “You're a pro-abortion advocate. I'm asking if you prefer the dilation and curettage method.”

WATERS: “I am access to reproductive health care advocate.”

GILL: “You don't want to talk about abortion itself. Why is that?”

WATERS: “I would prefer to talk about the reason that the committee called the hearing.”

GILL: “Is it because it's uncomfortable to talk about? It should be uncomfortable.”

WATERS: “I would prefer, if you would let me finish my statement, to talk about Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which is what I was asked to talk about.”

GILL: “We’re talking about what that access gets. How about this one? It's called dilation and evacuation. Forceps are inserted into the uterus, grabbing and twisting the baby's body to dismember him or her. If the head is too large, it must be crushed in order to remove it. Do you prefer that method?”

WATERS: “I would prefer to talk about the reason the hearing was called and the basis of my expert testimony.”

GILL: “It's uncomfortable to hear this, isn't it? I think it is because it's barbaric and evil.”

WATERS:  “I would prefer to talk about the subject of the hearing.”

GILL: “This is the subject of the hearing. This is about protests outside of abortion clinics. I'm asking you about abortion.”

WATERS: “I stand by my prior testimony.”

GILL: “I wouldn't want to talk about this either if I were you, because it is barbaric and evil.”

Maine Governor, a liberal Republican, drops out of Senate race

And finally, liberal Republican Governor Janet Mills has suspended her candidacy for the U.S. Senate. She announced, "I very simply do not have the one thing that political campaigns unfortunately require today: the financial resources."

A year ago, in the midst of the debate over men in women’s sports and locker rooms, President Trump predicted the political demise of Governor Mills, to her face, at the White House.

TRUMP: “Two weeks ago, I signed an executive order banning men from playing in women's sports. Many Democrats are fighting me on that. I hope you continue, because you'll never win another race. The NCAA has complied immediately, by the way. That's good. But I understand Maine … Is Maine here?  The governor of Maine? Are you not going to comply with it?”

MILLS: “I'm complying with state and federal laws.”

TRUMP: “We are the federal law. Well, you better do it. You better do it, because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't.

“And by the way, your population, even though it's somewhat liberal, although I did very well there, your population doesn't want men playing in women's sports. So, you better, you better comply, because otherwise you're not getting any, any federal funding.

MILLS: “See you in court.”

TRUMP: “Good. I'll see you in court. I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one. And enjoy your life after Governor, because I don't think you'll be in elected politics.”

That leaves Graham Platner, a controversial candidate, as the Democrat front runner in the upcoming June 9th primary. He’s been endorsed by Senate leftists Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Ruben Gallego of Arizona, and Martin Heinrich of New Mexico.

While GOP incumbent Senator Susan Collins of Maine has a Republican challenger in the June primary, she’s likely to win and then run for a sixth term in the November general election.

Algerian authorities have shut down virtually all Protestant churches

Muslim authorities in Algeria, Africa have shut down nearly all Protestant churches in the country since January 2025.

The finding comes from a new report by the European Centre for Law and Justice. 

Algeria’s Christian community has been steadily growing since the 1990s. Most of these believers are evangelical Protestants. However, the North African country imposed restrictions on non-Muslim worship in 2006. And most Protestant churches lost their legal status in 2012.

These Christians now have little to no freedom of expression in the Muslim-majority nation. The report stated, “Any expression of Christian faith may be regarded as . . . an offence against the precepts of Islam, and may result in prosecution.” 

In Matthew 5:10, Jesus said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.”

Kenyan court rejects abortion as a “right”

A court of appeal in Kenya  ruled against abortion last Friday.

The court struck down a 2022 high court ruling that declared abortion was a constitutional right. 

However, the constitution of the East African nation states that every person has the right to life and that life begins at conception. Last week’s ruling affirmed that abortion is not a fundamental right. 

Calum Miller, a pro-life doctor and ethicist, wrote on X, “This is a HUGE win in one of Africa's biggest legal cases ever.”

United Arab Emirates wants exporting oil independence

The United Arab Emirates, which borders Oman to the east and northeast, and Saudi Arabia to the southwest, is withdrawing from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, or OPEC.

The major oil producer made the announcement Tuesday and plans to withdraw on May 1. OPEC has limited the United Arab Emirates’ oil production to about three million barrels per day. The Emirates wants to reach five million barrels a day by next year as global demand increases. 

OPEC is led by Saudi Arabia. The group used to control over half of the world’s oil production. Now, it controls less than a third of the production. The United States has become one of its biggest rivals in recent years.

King Charles III emphasizes Christian faith before Congress

Britain’s King Charles III addressed the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.

It’s the first time a British monarch addressed Congress since Queen Elizabeth II did so in 1991.

King Charles emphasized international cooperation between the United States and the United Kingdom as well as the shared faith of the two nations.

CHARLES: “Mr. Speaker, for many here, and for myself, the Christian faith is a firm anchor and daily inspiration that guides us, not only personally, (applause) guides us not only personally, but together as members of our community.”

“So, to the United States of America, on your 250th birthday, let our two countries re-dedicate ourselves to each other, in the selfless service of our peoples, and of all the peoples of the world. God bless the United States and God bless the United Kingdom.” (applause and cheers)

Psalm 33:12 reminds us, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” 

Supreme Court ruled in favor of Christian pregnancy centers

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of a group of Christian pregnancy centers yesterday. 

The ruling allows First Choice Women’s Resource Centers to challenge the state of New Jersey in federal court. State officials hit the pro-life group with an unconstitutional, coercive subpoena. 

Attorney Erin Hawley with Alliance Defending Freedom said, “In this resounding victory, the Supreme Court held to its long-standing precedent of recognizing that the Constitution protects First Choice, and its donors, from demands by a hostile state official to disclose donor identities and contact information.”   

Protestantism’s net gain in Latin America

And finally, Pew Research released a report on how religious switching has affected Protestants and Catholics.

Religious switching refers to when an adult identifies with a religion that is different from the one they were raised in. 

Catholicism has lost more people than it gained from religious switching in nearly all surveyed countries. People who leave Catholicism tend to become Protestant or religiously disaffiliated. 

Meanwhile, Protestantism has seen a net gain in about as many countries as it has seen a net loss. In particular, Protestantism has had a net gain in Latin America, which is comprised of 20 countries, primarily Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.

Egyptian Christian YouTuber faces 5 years hard labor

A Christian YouTuber in Egypt is facing five years of imprisonment and hard labor simply for sharing his faith online.

Augustinos Samaan regularly posts Christian videos to his channel which has over 100,000 subscribers. Officials charged him under the country’s blasphemy provision. The law criminalizes speech that is deemed offensive to Islam. 

Samaan appealed his sentence last week with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom International. Since August last year, authorities in Egypt have arrested dozens of people for online religious content. 

In Matthew 10:32, Jesus said, “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in Heaven.”

Global military spending up

Global military spending reached a record $2.9 trillion dollars last year. That’s according to a new report from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

Military spending rose 14 percent in Europe and eight percent in Asia and Oceania. Meanwhile, the United States spent 7.5 percent less on military expenditures. The U.S. remains one of the top three military spenders along with China and Russia. 

Experts note that many U.S. allies are spending more on their militaries following pressure from the Trump administration. 

Former FBI Director James Comey indicted over photo that threatened Trump

On April 28th, the Justice Department secured an indictment charging former FBI Director James Comey with threatening the life of President Donald Trump by posting a photo of sea shells on Instagram that featured the numbers “86-47”, reports NBC News.

The two-count indictment alleges that a reasonable person would interpret the image of the shells, arranged to spell out “86 47,” as “a serious expression of an intent to do harm to the President of the United States."  "Eighty-six" is a term used to mean "cancel" or "get rid of." And, of course, “47” refers to the 47th president of the United States.

While Comey deleted the post, saying it never occurred to him that it would be interpreted as being violent. In a subsequent Instagram post last May, Comey said that he assumed the shells he saw on a beach walk were "a political message" and comically claimed that he "didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence," adding that he opposed violence "of any kind."

Todd Blanche, the acting U.S. Attorney General, spoke at a press conference yesterday.

BLANCHE: “The defendant, James Comey, knowingly and willfully transmitting in interstate commerce, a communication that contained a threat to kill the president of the United States. Both of these counts carry a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years.”

War Department will no longer require flu shot

War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the military will no longer require the flu shot.

HEGSETH: “We're seizing this moment to discard any absurd, overreaching mandates that only weaken our war-fighting capabilities. In this case, this includes the universal flu vaccine and the mandate behind it.

The notion that a flu vaccine must be mandatory for every service member, everywhere, in every circumstance, at all times, is just overly broad and not rational.

“Our new policy is simple. If you, an American warrior, entrusted to defend this nation, believe that the flu vaccine is in your best interest, then you are free to take it. You should. But we will not force you, because your body, your faith, and your convictions are not negotiable.” 

Proposed bill: No pension for Congressmen convicted of sex crimes

Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri introduced a bill that would strip the federal pensions of Congress members who are convicted of a sex crime. 

Hawley’s bill, the “No Pensions for Congressional Predators Act,” comes on the heels of two high profile Congressional resignations over sexual allegations including Democrat Eric Swalwell and Republican Tony Gonzales of Texas.

Speaking on FOX News, Hawley referred to Swalwell as a driving reason behind his legislation.

HAWLEY: “This is why Congress needs to pass legislation. I'm introducing it today that would deny pensions to every member of Congress who is convicted of a sex offense. Right now, you could be convicted and still get your pension. The only thing the government ought to be paying for for people like Eric Swalwell is a jail cell.”

Two Louisiana bills threaten pro-life work

A pair of Louisiana bills are threatening pro-life work in the state. 

One bill, the Pregnancy Help Center Healthcare Licensing Act, seeks to require pregnancy centers to become licensed, a bill that may force these centers to have doctors or nurses, on site, at all times. 

A second bill could restrict the freedom of religion for pregnancy centers. 

Erica Inzina of Louisiana Right to Life is concerned about the bill. She said, “Some of the language and the tactics that we’re seeing are the same types of tactics that have been used in other ways to villainize pregnancy centers elsewhere in the country.”

Church attendance rising

And finally, church attendance is rising for the first time in decades, according to a new report from the Hartford Institute for Religion Research.

The median in-person weekly attendance at a house of worship is now 70 adults. That’s down from 137 adults in 2000. However, it’s significantly up from 45 adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The study noted, “For the first time in decades, more congregations are stabilizing or growing rather than shrinking.”

Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

India: 12th worst persecutor of Christians worldwide

India is the twelfth worst persecutor of Christians in the world on the Open Doors World Watch List.

It’s largely due to the shift brought about by the joint efforts of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh organization and the BJP political party in that country. But now, the RSS General Secretary  told the Hudson Institute last week, that this is a misconception.

However, the Religious Liberty Commission of the Evangelical Fellowship of India reports 747 incidents of vandalisms, beatings, false arrests, church burnings, and at least one murder in 2025. This follows a rash of anti-conversion laws brought on by the ruling political parties.

In November 2025, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom issued a report recommending that India be placed on the list of Countries of Particular Concern. The report noted that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party came into power 12 years ago. … India has “enforced policies that closely align with Hindutva ideology, [a political ideology establishing Hindu dominance which leads to] discriminating and disenfranchising members of India’s religious minority communities.”

British suicide bill failed to pass

Good news!

A controversial suicide bill has failed to pass the United Kingdom Parliament.

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill did not receive the support necessary to pass the House of Lords, even though it had passed the House of Commons last year. The proposed law would have granted a supposed “right” for those expected to die within six months to kill themselves. 

Proverbs 8:36 speaks of the wisdom of God in these words: “But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”

Russia killed seven in two Ukrainian cities

Still no end in sight for Russia’s four-year war on Ukraine.

Russia continued to barrage the Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Odessa over the weekend.  The BBC reports seven people were killed. 

Third assassination attempt on President Trump

A would-be assassin, Cole Tomas Allen, got very close to the President of the United States Saturday night.

Just the day before President Trump was scheduled to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner, Allen, a teacher and mechanical engineer, checked into the hotel armed with guns.  At 8:30pm ET, he approached the stairway leading up to the ballroom where the president was sitting, and fired shots at security, when he was taken down by the Secret Service, reports NBC News.  Authorities said an officer wearing a bullet-resistant vest was shot in the chest and is expected to recover.

Allen said, “I experience rage thinking about everything this administration has done.”  In 2024, according to the Federal Election Commission filings, Allen donated $25 to ActBlue with the memo “Earmarked for Harris for President,” noted JustTheNews.com.

The two other would-be assassins of President Trump include 20-year-old Thomas Crooks on July 13, 2024 in Butler, Pennsylvania, who was killed by the Secret Service at a campaign rally and 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh on September 15, 2024 at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Routh was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Trump would-be assassin’s motive

Jeannine Pirro, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, addressed Cole Tomas Allen’s motive.

PIRRO: “Make no mistake. This was an attempted assassination of the President of the United States, with the defendant making clear what his intent was. And that intent was to bring down as many of the high-ranking cabinet officials as he could.”

According to the New York Post, Allen was charged on Monday with trying to assassinate President Donald Trump — as officials revealed the Secret Service fired at him five times before taking him down.

Karoline Leavitt: Trump’s calm in chaos was “remarkable to witness”

On April 27th, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared her unique perspective on the latest assassination attempt.

LEAVITT: “I was seated next to President Trump and the First Lady when the shots were fired before Secret Service swiftly moved us to safety backstage.

“The President's calm in the face of chaos while yet another individual was trying to take his life was really remarkable to witness. And it's something I will never forget. President Trump is fearless because he loves this country. And he is willing to put his own life on the line to deliver on the promises that he made to the American public who elected him here into the highest office in the land. …

“We should not live in a country where such constant fear of political violence permeates our society every single day. Debating, peaceful protesting and voting are how we need to settle disagreements, not bullets.”

The would-be assassin’s connection to Christianity

Cole Tomas Allen’s father is reportedly an elder at Grace United Reformed Church in Torrance, California, affiliated with the United Reformed Churches of America.

Allen’s social media account listed his association with a Christian Fellowship group at CalTech.

And his published manifesto included a note of gratitude to “his family, both personal and church, for your love over these 31 years.”  

Plus, the manifesto included a convoluted sort of biblical apologetic for his actions.  The Wall Street Journal has also reported that Allen had coordinated a group meeting for “Bible study, prayer, food, and fellowship.”

America’s drought and its impact on cattle

The United States is still facing its most severe drought in recorded history, dating back into the 19th century.

About 90% of Oklahoma and Nebraska are feeling the brunt of our national drought. Half of Nebraska is under extreme conditions. And 99.97% of Kentucky is under drought conditions.

Colorado, Georgia, and Florida have also been hit hard.

The drought is impacting cattle availability. The Untired States cattle herd has diminished to its lowest numbers in history, dropping to 86.2 million this year. That’s down from 115 million cattle in 1981.  

Cattle availability has dropped from half a cow per person to a quarter of a cow per person this year.  That’s liable to go quite a bit lower this year, as a result of the drought across western states.

Deuteronomy 28:15, 18-19 encourages nations to obey God’s laws. It says,  “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.”

African countries impacted by drought

In related news, other nations facing severe drought conditions, in six out of the last seven years, included Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Niger, and Zimbabwe.

These areas of Africa are about to tip into severe famine and mass starvation.

Kenyan breaks 2-hour marathon record

And finally, a son of a Kenyan farmer has broken the 2-hour barrier for the marathon, for the first time in human history, reports the Associated Press.

Sabastian Sawe finished the London Marathon over the weekend in the record time of 1:59:30. That’s 65 seconds faster than the last official record set three years ago.  

Actually, another African from Ethiopia also broke the previous record, finishing 11 seconds behind Sawe.

Preacher found dead in Russian prison

A blogger and preacher, known to the internet as Vegan Christ-Lover of God, died this month while in Russian custody. Khristolyub Bozhiy ran a blog and YouTube channel where he spoke about religion, veganism, and his advocacy of peace related to Russia’s ongoing war on Ukraine, reports International Christian Concern.

The 43-year-old blogger described himself as a Christian activist, pacifist, and preacher who spoke against Islam

Russian officials began their investigations in November 2023. In February 2025, a regional court sentenced Bozhiy to three years in a colony-settlement for offending Muslims, 

In early April, Bozhiy was moved to a pre-trial detention center and was immediately placed in an isolated cell.  Earlier this month, he reported, “I was given five days in solitary as soon as I arrived. Then another 15, for nothing at all.” 

On April 17th, Bozhiy’s father learned that his son had died, but was not told the cause of his death until he was summoned to collect his son’s body on April 20th. That day, when he arrived at the investigator’s office, he was told that his son had been found hanging in an isolated cell. Bozhiy’s relatives do not believe his death was a suicide.

In his final protest, Bozhiy held a sign that read, “Jesus commanded to love enemies, not to kill, for God is love. Murderers do not inherit the Kingdom of God.” 

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu treated for prostate cancer

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he recently underwent treatment for prostate cancer, and kept it quiet for fear that it would be used by Iran for propaganda, reports One America News.

He had three core messages to share with the public:

1. “Thank God, I am healthy.”
2. “I am in excellent physical condition.”
3. “I had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated. Thank God, it’s behind me.”

3 John 2:2 says, “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

9 in 10 British Evangelicals prepared to share faith with atheists

Only 2% of evangelical British Christians have faced ‘sanctions’ for talking about their Christian faith at work, while 4% feel they have missed out on the chance of a promotion or other better job opportunities because of their Christian faith, reports Evangelical Focus.

A survey commissioned by the Evangelical Alliance United Kingdom shows that most Evangelicals have a positive experience in their workplace.

Although one in ten say they have received criticism in the United Kingdom for talking about their Christian faith and just over two in ten are “hesitant to talk about my Christian faith”, 40% of believers say that their Christian faith has “positively helped me in my workplace.”

Almost 9 in 10 Evangelicals feel “equipped” to share their faith with atheists (86%) compared to 14% who do not. The response is virtually the same when asked about conversations with agnostics.

And two-thirds of Evangelical respondents feel prepared to discuss their faith with Muslims (67%) and 79% with Jews.

1 Peter 3:15 says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

Trump’s fiscal folly

On April 3rd, President Trump released his proposed Fiscal 2027 Budget. Strikingly, Trump proposed to increase defense spending by over 40% and cut non-defense discretionary spending by about 10%, reports Fortune Magazine.

Yet, even after slashing everything from environmental protection and scientific research to housing and small-business support, government spending will surge, the deficit will balloon, and the ratio of debt held by the public to the Gross Domestic Product will climb to peacetime highs and remain above 100%.

Overall, the Trump administration’s proposed budget is an extension of what has become, particularly during the last three administrations, fiscal folly.

Steve Hanke, a professor of applied economics at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, wrote, “A significant chunk of today’s government expenditures are financed by putting future generations in bondage and saddling them with the costs. This is irresponsible, inequitable, and immoral. Fiscal deficits are nothing more than deferred taxes that will be paid by those who aren’t even voting today, as well as many who are yet to be born.”

Public school allows profane anti-ICE protest, suspends pro-ICE student

On February 6, hundreds of students at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, California peacefully staged a mid-school-day walkout to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They held posters that read “ICE is KKK spelled differently” as well as others with profane language.

Yet, two weeks later, Torrey Pines High School suspended a student for posting pro-ICE flyers reading, “We love I.C.E. – Real Americans.” The school claimed the flyers, which caused no disruption at the school — and were displayed in a common area where other students have posted political material — nevertheless constituted “harassment” and “intimidation.” 

After intervention by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, a California school district expunged its suspension of a high school junior for putting up a pro-ICE poster.

Senior Attorney Conor Fitzpatrick said, “School administrators can’t pick and choose which opinions students are allowed to express. Voicing an opinion which makes others upset is not ‘harassment’ or ‘intimidation,’ it is American democracy in action.”

Which U.S. president had 15 children?

And finally, in 1789, George Washington became the first president of the United States.

Since then, 44 other men have served as Commander-in-Chief, each leaving a political legacy to be analyzed and judged in the course of time. But their legacies are not only political — they’re also familial, reports HistoryFacts.

The number of children each president had is often overlooked, but on a personal level, few things could be more important. And in two cases, presidential children — John Quincy Adams and George W. Bush — went on to become presidents themselves, combining the familial with the political.   

Five presidents fathered no known biological children. In some cases, this was likely due to infertility caused by medical issues, such as the tuberculosis infection George Washington suffered before he was married. James Buchanan, meanwhile, remains the only U.S. president who never married. 

One president stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to procreating: John Tyler fathered 15 children across two marriages. Another notable figure is Thomas Jefferson, who had six children with his wife of 10 years, Martha Jefferson, and allegedly fathered six others with his slave named Sally Hemings.

The other presidents in the top five include: James A. Garfield, who had 7 children, Rutherford B. Hayes, who had 8 children, and William Henry Harrison, who had 10 children.

Psalm 127:3-5 says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.”

Ugandan evangelist stabbed to death by Muslims

Suspected Muslim extremists, posing as taxi drivers on April 9th, killed a Christian evangelist in central Uganda, Africa shortly after he preached at a Gospel event, reports Morning Star News.

They beat and stabbed Alfred Kitenga at about 9:30 p.m. along the Northern Bypass in the Wakiso District, after he and his wife, Anna Grace, were returning home from preaching in Kampala, the Ugandan capital.

One local church leader said, “This is a painful loss for the body of Christ.”

In John 15:19, Jesus said, "If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."
