11 Christians Martyred Every Day

New data taken from the latest Open Doors World Watch List indicate that some 11 Christians are martyred for their faith every single day, reports FaithWire.com.

The shockingly high death toll was taken from the top 50 countries ranked on this year’s World Watch List and demonstrates the incredible level of religious persecution that continues to plague the planet.

Revelation 12:11 says, “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

Moroccan Christians Plead for Their Rights

The Committee of Moroccan Christians has written a letter to Pope Francis which lists violations of religious freedoms within the country and asks that the Vatican take up these issues with the government during the upcoming papal visit, reports International Christian Concern.

There are three violations which are particularly highlighted in the letter. First, the committee notes that Moroccan security forces make abusive arrests for Christian who proclaim their religion or take part in prayer services at underground churches. Second, the authorities have a record of confiscating their identity documents. Third, the authorities have expelled hundreds of foreigners on the charge of proselytizing.

The committee does note that King Mohammed VI has taken positive steps to make Morocco a tolerant country through the 2016 Marrakesh Declaration, an unofficial document which recognizes the rights of Christians. However, those rights have not been codified.

VP Pence Gets Standing Ovation from Hispanic Christian Group

Vice President Mike Pence gave a closed-door address and received a standing ovation last Thursday before a gathering of the largest Hispanic evangelical coalition in the United States, reports the Christian Post.

Over 300 faith leaders gathered for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference’s annual Justice Summit hosted at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.

The group has over 40,000 member congregations and is headed by California megachurch Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, an evangelical born to Puerto Rican parents who was one of a few religious leaders who prayed at Trump’s inauguration in January 2017.

2 Catholic Priests Enter Abortion Mills, Pass Out Red Roses

Two Catholic priests entered two Washington, DC abortion facilities Tuesday morning — risking arrest to save babies from abortion, reports LifeNews.com.

In what is known as Red Rose Rescues, the two priests, Fidelis Moscinski and Stephen Imbarrato, along with several pro-life advocates, handed out Red Roses with messages attached to them about abortion alternatives, peacefully counseling women to save their babies from abortion.

Each of the pro-lifers risked arrest for trespass and possible incarceration. They also prayerfully witnessed to moms, their escorts, the medical workers, and law enforcement who arrive on the scene.

Would a Pro-Life Democrat Run for President?

There’s room in the Democrat 2020 presidential field for a pro-life candidate. That’s the contention of Charles Camosy, an associate professor of theology at Fordham University and author of Beyond the Abortion Wars: A Way Forward for a New Generation.

In his column in TheFederalist.com, he notes that despite the fact that 20 million Democrats identify as pro-life, all six of the major Democratic presidential candidates “outed themselves as wild extremists” by actually voting against a bill requiring that newborn children who survive botched abortions be treated with dignity and given proper life-saving measures.

According to a recent Marist poll, a dramatic increase of Democrats now oppose abortion – especially late-term abortion.

Camosy recommends three pro-life Democrats to consider running for president. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey, Jr. who voted for both the Pain-Capable Act and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and Louisiana State Rep. Katrina Jackson, an African-American woman, who authored a state law limiting abortion providers to physicians who have admitting privileges at a local hospital.

ECFA: Harvest Bible Chapel Suspended for Lack of Accountability

The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, a Christian financial watchdog group, has suspended Harvest Bible Chapel, a Chicago-area megachurch, after church leaders admitted “a lack of financial control and oversight” under the church’s former pastor James McDonald, reports ChristianHeadlines.com.

Harvest recently fired McDonald, the host of the radio program “Walk in the Word”, for conduct its elders called “contrary and harmful to the best interests of the church.”

In describing the qualifications of an elder, Titus 1:7 says, “For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain.”

Good Samaritan Picks Up Distressed Couple, Drives 7 Hours Round-Trip

And finally, Ron and Sharleen Gillies were just hours away in Scotland from saying their final goodbyes to Ron’s dying mother when their car broke down – and they may not have made it in time if it had not been for a compassionate stranger, reports Gazette Live.

The couple had been driving south from Edinburgh to see Ron’s mother in Cambridge when they got in a minor car collision which left their vehicle stranded on the side of the road with a damaged wheel.

Thankfully, 40-year-old Dean Moore was driving by when he saw the Gillies on the side of the road. Unable to drive past the anxious older couple, Moore pulled over to make sure that they were okay.

Amazingly, he volunteered to drive them the remaining 200 miles to Cambridge which took him three and a half hours until he was able to deliver the Gillies at the bedside of Ron’s dying mother at midnight. After taking a quick bathroom break, Moore then turned around and made the three and a half hour drive back home.

In God’s providence, Ron and Sharleen arrived just in time to spend a few hours with his mother before she died the following day.

Ron told Gazette Live, “I just can’t put into words what that lad did for us.”

Indeed, Dean Moore was a Good Samaritan.
