Myanmar military arrested three pastors over prayer services

Authorities in the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar  arrested three pastors last week just for organizing prayer services.

The pastors from Kachin State led a service in March to pray for peace in their land.

The Burmese military took control of the country back in February. Since then, the military has increasingly targeted religious minorities, especially Christians.

Please remember our Myanmar brothers and sisters in Christ in your prayers.

United Kingdom to lift all COVID restrictions in July

The United Kingdom will lift nearly all COVID-19 restrictions this month.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid  addressed the House of Commons on Monday. Javid announced the government would lift all restrictions on worship services as Members of Parliament approved with exclamations of “Hallelujah!”

JAVID: “It will no longer be a legal requirement to wear face coverings in any setting including public transport, although we will advise this as a voluntary measure for crowded and enclosed spaces. It will no longer be necessary to work from home.

“There will be no limits on the number of people you can meet. There will be no limits on the number of people who can attend life events like weddings and funerals. And there will be no restrictions on communal worship or singing.”

Iowa Supreme Court: Planned Parenthood can be blocked from sex ed in schools

Last week, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled the state can block Planned Parenthood from conducting sex education programs in public schools.

In 2019, Iowa passed legislation to ban the abortion giant from receiving grant money to teach sex education.

Planned Parenthood challenged the law last year, and a state court judge found the law unconstitutional. Thankfully, the state supreme court overturned that ruling.

U.S. Supreme Court upholds election integrity in Arizona

Last Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld two voting restrictions passed by Arizona to preserve election integrity.

The restrictions disqualify ballots cast in the wrong precinct and ban “ballot harvesting” where a third party returns someone else’s early ballot.

Democrats argued the laws discriminated against voters of color. However, the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling found the restrictions did not violate the Voting Rights Act.

Americans have prioritized shopping over worshipping

An Associated Press poll found 73% of Americans who attended worship services regularly before the pandemic plan to attend in-person services in the coming weeks.

Only 34% of Americans in general said they would be attending in-person services in the coming weeks. Americans generally prioritized other things as COVID restrictions are lifting — like socializing, shopping, and going to restaurants.

Matthew 13:22 warns, “Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the Word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.”

New York City’s bizarre vote during mayoral primary

New York City became the largest jurisdiction in the U.S. to use an alternative voting system last month during their mayoral primary.

The primary used ranked-choice voting which allows voters to rank multiple candidates in order of preference. A candidate wins immediately if he receives a majority of people’s first-choice votes. However, if no candidate receives such a majority, the last-place candidate is dropped and their votes are put toward those voters’ second choices. The process continues until a candidate wins a majority.

Pew Research identified over 260 jurisdictions across the U.S. that use some kind of alternative voting system.

Boy Scouts agrees to pay $850 million to sex abuse victims

The Boy Scouts of America reached an $850 million settlement with tens of thousands of victims of child sex abuse.

The organization has faced accusations of abuse by leaders and volunteers since 1960. The Boy Scouts filed for bankruptcy last year.

Eight years ago, the Boy Scouts allowed homosexuals into the organization. Since then, the group has lost two million members. Many have gone to Trail Life, a Christian scouting program which does not allow homosexual members or leaders.

Galatians 6:7-8 says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

Cartoons increasingly feature sexually perverted characters

The Insider reports children’s cartoons are increasingly featuring characters representing sexually perverted lifestyles and gender confusion.

At the same time, kids networks are losing viewers by the hundreds of thousands.

Meanwhile, Angel Studios raised over $5 million to make an animated version of The Wingfeather Saga by Christian musician and author Andrew Peterson.

The fictional series specifically aims at encouraging the family unit, not destroying it.

Hawaii Worldview listener contrasts the unbeliever with the Christian

Aimee Adams in Lahaina, Hawaii wrote me at  Adam@TheWorldview.com. She said, “The world has been lying to us. It says, ‘Seize the day for pleasure; it might be the only day you have left!’ The truth is that we will live forever. Whether in heaven or hell, we will exist for all eternity. It is because of this truth that we MUST seize the day for Jesus Christ! Thank you Adam for sending me off each day into the world, ready for action.

“My Father (who went to be with Jesus last June) was the principal of the Christian school I attended. Each morning we would say the Pledge of Allegiance to America and the Christian Flag, then pray for God’s wisdom. When the Supreme Court removed God from the public schools, you see the chaos that has resulted.

“In honor of my father, Dr. Glenn Charles Adams, could you please read the pledge to the Christian Flag?  It says, ‘I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands. One Savior crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty to all who believe.’

“Thank you for The Worldview and bringing the truth to this lost world.”

13 new Worldview listeners donated $3,310

And finally, to help keep The Worldview on the air, we need to raise $65,000 by this Friday, July 9th.  Only 3 days left. 13 new Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate.

Our thanks to Jayne in Cape Coral, Florida who gave $50, Steven in Dripping Springs, Texas who pledged $5/month for 12 months for a gift of $60, Jelaya in Oakhurst, California who gave $65, and Harold in Imboden, Arkansas who gave $85.

We’re thankful to God for Summer in Jackson, Missouri who gave $100, Ashby in Bonita Springs, Florida who gave $150, and Tara in Downsville, Louisiana who gave $200.

And we’re humbled by the generosity of Eric in Madison, Minnesota who gave $300, Payton in Burnet, Texas and Renée in St Augustine, Florida – both of whom pledged $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300, Tim in Golden, Colorado who gave $500, and Benton in Kingwood, Texas and William in Summit, Missouri – both of whom pledged $50/month for 12 months for a gift of $600.  And, by the way, they are the final 2 donors who pledged $50/month of the 10 that a Minnesota couple has promised to match tomorrow.

Those 13 gifts add up to $3,310. Ready for our new grand total?  Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect). $54,948!  (Sound effect of people cheering)

In order to hit our final goal of $65,000 by this Friday, July 9th, we need to raise $10,052.  So far, we’ve had two maximum days when 30 Worldview listeners made a donation.  Out of our 100,000 listeners, I wonder if 40 of you might consider a donation today which I’ll report on Thursday morning. Whether it’s $5 or $500, with your help, we can get across the finish line.  I need to find 16 Worldview listeners who will pledge $25/month for 12 months for a gift of $300.  And another 8 listeners who will pledge $50/month for 12 months for a gift of $600.

Just go to TheWorldview.com, click on “Give,” select the dollar amount, and select the recurring button, if that’s your wish.  What would the Lord have you do?
