Pakistan Continues to Falsely Accuse Christians of “Blasphemy”

Last week, four Christian women in Karachi, Pakistan were falsely accused of blasphemy against Islam, reports International Christian Concern.

In response, a Muslim mob attacked the predominantly Christian neighborhood where the women lived, displacing 200 Christian families. The mob killed pets and livestock and damaged numerous homes. They have also refused to allow Christians to open their churches again.

In the last 30 years, false charges of blasphemy have been brought against over 1,500 people, mostly Christians.

1 Peter 4:12-13 says, “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”

Brazil Vows to Protect People from the Moment of Conception

Brazil’s Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, a woman named Damares Alves, addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday, pledging to defend human rights and democracy.

Listen to the beginning of her speech, delivered in Portuguese.

Alves stated, “We will resolutely defend the full exercise by everyone of the right to life from conception.”

Trump and Jong-Un Meet in Vietnam About North Korea’s Nukes

Yesterday, President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un met in Hanoi, Vietnam for a full day of talks over North Korea’s nuclear arsenal, reports CNN.

The White House announced Trump and Jong-Un plan to sign an agreement today although the contents of the agreement are not yet known.

Trump’s Former Personal Attorney Turns Ahead of Prison Sentence

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney, who is about to serve a three-year prison sentence for pleading guilty to lying to Congress, tax evasion and campaign finance violations, testified yesterday before the House Oversight Committee.

Having once said that he would “take a bullet” for his boss, he accused Trump of being a “racist,” a “cheat” and a “con man.”

COHEN: “I am here under oath to correct the record, to answer the Committee’s questions truthfully, and to offer the American people what I know about President Trump. Because I know what Mr. Trump is. He is a racist. He is a conman. And he is a cheat.”

President Trump tweeted, “Michael Cohen was one of many lawyers who represented me (unfortunately). He had other clients also. He was just disbarred by the State Supreme Court for lying & fraud. He did bad things unrelated to Trump. He is lying in order to reduce his prison time.”

Supreme Court Hears Major Religious Liberty Case

In a significant religious liberty case, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments yesterday on whether a World War I memorial cross should be left standing on public property in Bladensburg, Maryland.

A majority of the justices gave tepid support for the 93-year-old, 40-foot-tall cross to remain standing, reports Fox News.

First Liberty President Kelly Shackelford, who represented the American Legion against the legal attempt by the humanists to tear down the Bladensburg Peace Cross, spoke yesterday outside the Supreme Court.

SHACKELFORD: “The idea that we’re talking today about whether we’re going to tear down this memorial is really a disgrace. I really feel like we’ve got a choice of two Americas that are being presented in front of us right now. An America where we begin not only tearing down this memorial, but that would be just the beginning of the religious cleansing that would start as memorials and monuments across the country would be under attack if they have religious imagery.”

The important First Amendment case will likely have ramifications in the future for religious symbols on public property.

House Democrats Block Anti-Infanticide Bill

Yesterday, U.S. House Democrats blocked a move by Republicans to stop infanticide and require medical care for babies who survive abortions, reports LifeNews.

This comes two days after Senate Democrats blocked a similar measure.

This marks the 11th time Congressional Democrats have blocked such bills.

In response, President Donald Trump tweeted, “Senate Democrats just voted against legislation to prevent the killing of newborn infant children. The Democrat position on abortion is now so extreme that they don’t mind executing babies AFTER birth.”

Psalm 5:6 says, “God shall destroy those who speak falsehood; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.”

Methodists Affirm God’s Design of Marriage

And finally, at a conference this week in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates for the United Methodist Church voted against a measure called the One Church Plan that would have opened the door for local congregations to have faux homosexual marriages and clergy committed to sexual perversions.

Instead, the delegates voted 438 to 384 for the Traditional Plan to affirm the church’s teachings against homosexuality.

Many church leaders think the vote will cause a split in the United Methodist Church.
