The House’s inflamed rhetoric over Trump’s second impeachment
With only seven days left in President Trump’s term, Democrat Congressman Steny Hoyer of Maryland made the closing argument on the House floor for a second impeachment.
HOYER: “Upon the foundations of virtue, reason, and patient wisdom laid down by George Washington as our first president, Donald Trump has constructed a glass palace of lies, fear mongering, and sedition. Last Wednesday, on January 6, the nation in the world watched it shatter to pieces. There can be no mistaking any longer the kind of man sitting in the Oval Office. The curtain has been pulled back. The office to which he was elected could not temper or reform him.
“Washington’s legacy was passed down to us not as written decrees, but understood norms: how we ought to act, how we ought to conduct ourselves. Term after term, each occupant has observed those norms out of a recognition that our Constitution’s articles are not the only preservative of our democracy.”
And Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the third-ranking House Republican, said in a statement, “There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution.”
President Trump might echo the words of King David from Psalm 109:2 — “For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me, speaking against me with lying tongues.”
House impeaches President Trump for second time
In a vote of 232 to 197, all House Democrats and ten Republicans voted to impeach President Trump for a second time on Wednesday over the role they say he played in instigating the riot last week on Capitol Hill, reports RealClearPolitics.com.

PELOSI: “On this vote the eyes are 232 the nays are 197. The resolution is adopted Without objection, the motion to reconsider is laid upon the table.”
In addition to Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the other nine Republican Congressmen who supported impeachment included John Katko of New York; Adam Kinzinger of Illinois; Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio; Fred Upton and Peter Meijer of Michigan; Jaime Beutler and Dan Newhouse of Washington state; Tom Rice of South Carolina; and David Valadao of California, reports the Associated Press.
The GOP votes were in sharp contrast to the unanimous support for Trump among House Republicans when he was first impeached by Democrats in 2019.
What did President Trump actually say on January 6th?
In light of this knee-jerk second impeachment by every Democrat and a handful of Republicans who hated President Trump’s agenda from the beginning, it is worth reviewing what did Trump actually say at the “Save America” Rally on January 6th.

TRUMP: “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol. And we’re gonna cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. And we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them, because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing, and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated.”
Here is the critical sentence that the mainstream media has ignored.
TRUMP: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Today, we will see whether republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections.”
As clear as a bell, President Trump urged his supporters to be peaceful. How ironic in light of all the heated rhetoric and the second impeachment vote.
Trump: “I unequivocally condemn the violence.”
Furthermore, in a 5-minute address from the Oval Office yesterday, President Donald Trump condemned the violence that occurred when some people stormed the Capitol building on January 6th during the certification of presidential electors.
TRUMP: “I want to be very clear. I unequivocally condemn the violence that we saw last week. Violence and vandalism have absolutely no place in our country, and no place in our movement. Making America great again has always been about defending the rule of law, supporting the men and women of law enforcement, and upholding our nation’s most sacred traditions and values. Mob violence goes against everything I believe in, and everything our movement stands for.
“No true supporter of mine could ever endorse political violence. No true supporter of mine could ever disrespect law enforcement, or our great American flag. No true supporter of mine could ever threaten or harass their fellow Americans. If you do any of these things, you are not supporting our movement. You’re attacking it, and you are attacking our country.”
President Trump also warned against any future violence as we look toward the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday, January 20th.
TRUMP: “There has been reporting that additional demonstrations are being planned in the coming days, both here in Washington and across the country. I have been briefed by the U.S. Secret Service on the potential threats. Every American deserves to have their voice heard in a respectful and peaceful way. That is your First Amendment right.
“There must be no violence, no law breaking, and no vandalism of any kind. Everyone must follow our laws and obey the instructions of law enforcement. I have directed federal agencies to use all necessary resources to maintain order. In Washington D.C., we are bringing in thousands of National Guard members to secure the city and ensure that a transition can occur safely and without incident.”
Rep. Jordan’s powerful defense of President Trump
And finally, in a speech from the floor of the House yesterday, Republican Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio exposed the political motives of the Democrats related to the second impeachment of President Trump.
JORDAN: “Republicans have been consistent. We’ve condemned all the violence, all the time. We condemned it last summer. We condemned it last week. We should be focused on bringing the nation together.
“Instead, Democrats are going to impeach the president for a second time, one week, one week before he leaves office. Why? Why? Politics and the fact that they want to cancel the president.
“The President who cut taxes, the President who reduced regulations, the President, prior to COVID, had the greatest economy, lowest unemployment in 50 years. The President got us out of the Iran deal, put the embassy in Jerusalem, brought hostages home from North Korea, put three great justices on the Supreme Court, gave us a new NAFTA agreement, the Abraham accords, the COVID vaccine, and who built the wall.
“It’s about politics. This is about getting the President of the United States.
“They spied on his campaign before he was elected. Nineteen minutes into his presidency, they started the impeachment push, three-year Muller investigation, 19 lawyers, 40 agents, 500 witnesses, 2,500 subpoenas, $40 million to find nothing.
“Impeachment, round one, based on an anonymous whistleblower with no first-hand knowledge who was biased against the President and who worked for Joe Biden. Now, it’s impeachment, round two.
“It’s always been about getting the President no matter what. It’s an obsession, an obsession that is now broadened.”
In his defense of President Trump, Congressman Jordan embodied the truth of 1 Corinthians 16:13 which says, “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”

Scott Adams: Absurd To Call Capitol Riot A “Coup Attempt”
And finally, during his “Coffee with Scott Adams” podcast on Wednesday morning, the ‘Dilbert’ comic creator thought outside the box about how the riots last week on Capitol Hill have been branded as an insurrectionary “coup attempt” by the media.
Here’s Scott’s analysis.
ADAMS: “The fake news has sold you on the idea that there was a coup attempt and/or an insurrection. What Ted Cruz and the other Republicans were asking for was not overthrowing the election. But how is it being reported? It’s being reported that those senators were trying to overturn an election.
“If this were a coup attempt — as opposed to trying to force Congress to have a 10-day audit and have some transparency which the public required — if it were a real coup, how exactly was that coup gonna work? Did they think, these clever coup plotters, that once they had occupied two empty rooms,. that they were then the leaders of the country?
“Was that they’re thinking? Once we get in these empty rooms, with all this furniture, we run the country now? I don’t think they thought that! Did they think that by stealing the magic lectern, which did happen, Nancy’s lectern was stolen Were they thinking, ‘If we can get a hold of the magic golden lectern, we will have power over the whole world’? It looked more like they were getting souvenirs.”
Christian businessman needs pardon from President Trump
Phillip Zodhiates, a Christian father and businessman, who helped a mother and her daughter escape the U.S. back in 2009, has been imprisoned on misguided kidnapping charges.
Zodhiates was helping the mother, who became a Christian out of a lesbian lifestyle, escape from her previous lesbian partner.
The Zodhiates Family has asked believers to pray for a pardon from President Trump.
