Hundreds Killed in Truck Bombing in Somalia

More than 270 were killed and 300 people injured in Mogadishu, Somalia, Africa on Saturday, in a double truck bombing that officials called one of the deadliest attacks to hit the capital since the Islamist insurgency began in 2007, reports The New York Times.  

The Associated Press quoted one nurse as saying staff members had seen “unspeakable horrors” in a hospital where the smell of blood was strong.

Psalm 37:9 says, “For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.”

Former U.S. Ambassador Says North Korea Is Blowing Hot Air

North Korea warned that a “nuclear war may break any moment”, reports Fox News.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said that North Korea was blowing a lot of hot air.

“This is propaganda from the North Koreans. They are trying to intimidate those Americans who are capable of being intimidated and unfortunately there are a large number of them. The threat in the region is North Korea’s nuclear weapons program. That’s what we have been grappling with unsuccessfully for 25 years. The idea that we are somehow responsible for it really is ludicrous.”

Apple Removes Pro-Life Prayer App from the App Store

The tech giant Apple removed a pro-life prayer app from its App Store following backlash from pro-abortion advocates. Just another example of bias against Christian groups, reports Life News.

Human Coalition’s app, still available on the Google Play Store, displays a list of prayer requests, such as, “Someone considering abortion in Dallas, Texas.” When users signal with a swipe of their thumb that they’ve prayed for the situation, the app updates a daily tally of prayers.

Billy Graham’s Grandson Tullian Tchividjian Confesses His Sin of Adultery

Tullian Tchividjian, the grandson of evangelist Billy Graham, is openly regretting his transgressions after he lost his church and wife to an adultery scandal two years ago, reports The Christian Post.

In a recent blog post, Tchividjian admitted he “selfishly wrecked” his life. Now remarried, he wrote, “God gifted me with a family to care for, people to love, a high calling, a life-giving message, and a large platform to shout it from – and I blew it.”

Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.”

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson About to Start New Show on CRTV

While the A&E “Duck Dynasty” show has ended, the 71-year-old patriarch Phil Robertson is gearing up to star in a new politically incorrect show called “In the Woods With Phil.” It will air on a $99 per year digital service called CRTV.

In 2013, Robertson was suspended from appearing on A&E when he spoke to GQ and called homosexuality a sin.

According to Robertson, the media is ashamed of what he calls American values. He used gender as an example.

“Most media are ashamed of America, its values and just has an aversion to plain old common sense,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “What did I hear today? That a girl can now be a Boy Scout? The name is ‘Boy Scout.’ How hard is that to understand?”

Project Veritas Reveals Bias at the New York Times

James O’Keefe of Project Veritas has documented more bias at the New York Times in his latest hidden camera expose.

New York Times Senior Home Page Editor, Des Shoe, who is based in London, admits to the paper’s left-leaning bias.

Des Shoe: “Our main stories are supposed to be objective. It’s very difficult in this day and age to do that.”

Undercover journalist: “Why?”

Des Shoe: “When you have something like the Charlotteville story, it’s hard to portray, for instance, the president, in an unbiased light when the words that are coming out of his mouth are apologetic toward white supremacists — which is what they were.  …  I feel like Trump is just a, sort of an idiot in a lot of ways. Just an oblivious idiot.

“If we write about [Trump], and how insanely crazy he is…maybe people will read it and be like…we shouldn’t vote for him.”

She also attacks Vice President Mike Pence, implying that his religious beliefs make him unfit to lead.

Des Shoe: “If you impeach him, then Pence becomes President, Mike Pence, who’s [bleep] horrible…I think maybe, possibly worse than Trump.

“He’s extremely, extremely religious.”

Roy Moore Currently Tied with Democrat Candidate in Alabama Senate Race

Republican Roy Moore, known as the Ten Commandments Judge, is surprisingly tied at 42 percent with Democrat Doug Jones in the U.S. Senate race set for December 12th in deep-red Alabama, reports Fox News.

Moore’s campaign prays that Christians across the country will get involved in his race.

British Snipers Shoot Down Terrorists in Act of Attacking Christian Family

Elite British special forces snipers shot dead two Muslim terrorists who were holding knives to the throats of a Christian father and son following their refusal to convert to Islam near Mosul, Iraq, reports Christian Today.

The event took place in July, following the fall of Mosul, although details of it only began to emerge last week. Christians who refused to convert to Islam were being beheaded, according to The Daily Star.

Another Iranian Christian Arrested in Dezful

Another Iranian convert to Christianity has been arrested in the city of Dezful, according to Radio Farda.

Mohammad Ali Torabi was taken on Tuesday, October 10 to an unknown location.

The Iranian government is accusing Christians of “action against national security” through “launching home churches” and “participating at Christian ceremonies”.

There were 117,704 Christians counted in a 2011 Iranian census.

Chinese Indonesians Christians in New Hampshire Fear Being Deported

2,000 Chinese Indonesian Christians who fled their home country in 1998 after suffering religious persecution and found a safe haven in the state of New Hampshire are now in danger of being deported, reports SRNNews.com reports.

Due to President Trump’s new immigration policies, these Indonesian Christians fear they will be deported back to Indonesia.

Judge Blocks President Trump’s Travel Ban

U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson in Hawaii blocked President Donald Trump’s third attempt to impose travel restrictions on individuals entering the United States, reports CNBC.

The open-ended ban, announced last month, targeted people from Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad, and North Korea.

The White House said Tuesday’s ruling was “dangerously flawed” and “undercuts the president’s efforts to keep the American people safe.”

Majority of Voters Support Two of President Trump’s Pro-Life Promises

A new national poll released by Susan B. Anthony List finds that a majority of voters support two of President Trump’s major campaign promises.

  • 51.5 percent support the Trump administration’s rollback of the HHS preventative services mandate, which forces employers to be complicit in the provision of abortion-inducing drugs regardless of their deeply held religious and moral objections.
  • And 62.2 percent support legislation limiting abortions after twenty weeks, or five months of pregnancy, a point by which science shows unborn children can feel pain.

North Korea Getting Closer to Being a Threat

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton explained that North Korea is getting closer to being a real threat.

“They are definitely getting close to the capacity to hit targets all over the continental United States. … Time is running out and it’s landed in the Trump administration’s lap. Nobody should be under any illusions that after 25 years and getting this close to the finish line, North Korea will be talked out of their nuclear weapons program.”

Bolton outlined the only real diplomatic option involving North Korea and their race to become a nuclear power capable of targeting American cities.

“I think the only diplomatic possibility here is with China to put either enough pressure on the regime in North Korea that it collapses or acknowledge we need to reunite the two Koreas. Otherwise the options look a lot grimmer.”

Harvey Weinstein Makes Complete and Dramatic Fall as His Sin Finds Him Out

The Variety Magazine cover story entitled “Game Over” doesn’t pull any punches.

“Weinstein’s precipitous fall has been stunning, if not a long time coming. He’s been fired from his own company, ostracized by his longtime friends and collaborators in the entertainment industry, transformed from power player to butt of late-night talk-show jokes, ditched by his wife and abandoned by the Democratic political leaders who once coveted his endorsement.

“Along with Bill Cosby, Roger Ailes, Bill O’Reilly and L.A. Reid, Weinstein is a sign that the old methods that stars and top executives used to cover up their sins isn’t working. Their praetorian guards of lawyers and spin-makers, their penchant for paying hush money to victims and making them sign draconian nondisclosure agreements that prevent them from going public, can no longer buy silence.”

Nina Jacobson, the former president of Buena Vista Motion Pictures, said, “We want to get to a place where the cost of silence is greater than the cost of speaking out. We want to shift the shame to the bully and away from the victims.”

DreamWorks Founder Jeffrey Katzenberg Says Weinstein is Only One of “a Pack of Wolves”

Cnet.com reports that Hollywood executive Jeffrey Katzenberg, founder of DreamWorks, said, “The casting couch has been in Hollywood from the beginning. The complicity around the acceptance of it and silence about it is the crime. Harvey Weinstein, make no mistake about it, he is a monster. The problem is there’s a pack of wolves. He’s not a lone actor in this.”

Former Child Actor Corey Feldman Attests to Abuse of Himself and Other Children

Last week, former child actor Corey Feldman, known for Stand by Me and The Goonies, tweeted that he’d been asked for a statement about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual-harassment and rape allegations. He has long alleged that pedophilia is the worst problem in Hollywood and that it’s in part responsible for his best friend Corey Haim’s eventual death by drug overdose.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2016, Feldman said: “[Haim] had more direct abuse than I did. With me, there were some molestations, and it did come from several hands, so to speak, but with Corey, his was direct rape, whereas mine was not actual rape. And his also occurred when he was 11. … As I look at my son, a sweet, innocent, 11-year-old boy and then try to put him in Corey Haim’s shoes, I go, … well of course he was erratic and not well-behaved on sets and things like that.’ What more could we expect of him really?”

Feldman described Hollywood as “a place where adults have more direct and inappropriate connection with children than probably anywhere else in the world.”

Security Guard Jesus Campos Has Not Been Heard from Since His Disappearance

The Mandalay Bay security guard who disappeared last week moments before he was scheduled to break his silence in five television interviews has not been heard from since he went to a walk-in health clinic, his union president said, reports Fox News.

David Hickey of the Security, Police, and Fire Professionals of America told reporters last Friday that he got a text the night before saying Jesus Campos was taken to a UMC Quick Care facility, though he did not specify where or whom the text came from.

Before he vanished, Campos was looking forward to telling his side of the story.

A Christian printer named Nigel Williams refused to print business cards promoting the business of a man playing the part of a woman who works as a “diversity consultant”, reports ChristianToday.com.

Williams explained that “the new model of diversity is used to marginalize or indeed discriminate against Christians in their workplaces.”

Satanists Ask Christian Baker Jack Phillips to Make Birthday Cake for Satan

Colorado Christian baker Jack Phillips has reportedly been asked to make a birthday cake for Satan this Halloween season, as he prepares to defend his rights before the Supreme Court to refuse to bake a cake for a homosexual faux wedding, reports The Christian Post.

According to an email sent on Sept. 30 and obtained by The Daily Signal late last week, the cake “only needs to be a simple 9×13 single layer cake, with red and black icing. As well as to contain an upside down cross, under the head of Lucifer.”

Air Force Service Members Connected to Vandalism of South Carolina Church

Four Air Force service members who are stationed at Shaw Air Force Base have been arrested after surveillance footage connected them to a recent act of vandalism at an historic South Carolina church, reports Christian News.

Their graffiti which featured pentagrams, an upside-down cross, and the word “Satan” was especially troubling to the older congregation which was shocked.

Church in California Opens Its Doors to Help Wildfire Victims

Influence Church in Anaheim Hills, California has opened its doors to those forced to evacuate because of the wildfire which has engulfed 10,000 acres in Orange County, reports The Christian Post.

Pastor Phil Hotsenpiller told, “During the evacuation, church members and staff helped neighbors move stuff out of their houses. We prayed for those that were in distress during that time. We gave out water. We offered housing. We probably had 50 of our members offer homes for people to stay in.”

Californian Who Lost Her Home in Fire Is Grateful for What She Has

One Santa Rosa, California resident named Janice Mathis who lost her home to the fires told CNN, “All your life savings and work for all the years is gone.”

Despite her loss, Mathis told reporters, “The first thing we think of is we’re fortunate.”

Christian Headlines notes that instead of expressing anger, she shared her gratefulness for what she still has. In a culture that says worth and happiness comes from the increase of material possessions, this thankfulness is a paradox.

Food Network Chef Guy Fieri Prepares Thousands of Meals for Wildfire Victims and Responders

Just days after evacuating his own home with his family, celebrity chef Guy Fieri wasted no time in giving back to his fellow California wildfire victims and first responders, reports Good News Network.

The Food Network star says that he and his wife were awakened in their Santa Rosa home by the smell of smoke on Monday morning.

“The smoke was really bad,” Fieri told KQED. “We had to evacuate at two in the morning, and we grabbed what we could, taking pictures off the wall as fast as we could. Jumped in the truck, loaded in the dogs, and away we went.”

Though their house was unharmed by the wildfires, Fieri set up shop outside Santa Rosa last Thursday with a wood-fired oven and a barbecue smoker in tow. He and his crew then started preparing barbecue chicken, coleslaw, and bean salad. They served up 3,700 meals on that first day.

Now, Fieri is also raising money in conjunction with the Salvation Army so he can continue cooking at least 5,000 meals a day for evacuees and volunteers.

Chinese Space Laboratory Falls Toward Earth

China’s first space laboratory named Tiangong 1, weighing in at 8 ½ tons, is hurtling down to Earth, expected to meet a fiery end, crashing somewhere on the planet, reports The Washington Post.

In September 2016, Chinese officials confirmed that they had lost control of the space lab and that it would crash into Earth sometime in the latter half of 2017. In May, China told the United Nations that the lab would reenter Earth between October, 2017 and April 2018.

Much of the space lab, which measures 34 feet in length, is expected to burn up during its re-entry. But Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist from Harvard University, told The Guardian that pieces weighing up to 220 pounds could make it to Earth’s surface.

National Health Service in Britain Says Obese Patients and Smokers Won’t Receive Surgeries

Britain’s National Health Service will ban patients from surgery indefinitely if they are obese or smoke, reports The Telegraph.

The new rules say that obese patients “will not get non-urgent surgery until they reduce their weight”. And smokers will only be referred for operations if they have stopped smoking for at least eight weeks.
