Iranian Christian human rights activist sentenced to 3 months in prison

Christian human rights activist Mary Fatima Mohammadi was recently sentenced to three months in prison in Iran along with a flogging of 10 lashes.

Authorities arrested Mary for protesting after Iran shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane in January. Mary said she has already suffered “many types of torture and 46 days in jail” for her protest “against the slaughter of human beings.”

Please pray for Mary and all the Christians in Iran, ranked as the ninth worst nation for the persecution of Christians according to Open Doors.

Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

Int’l Planned Parenthood closed 5,633 abortion mills over COVID-19

On April 9th, the International Planned Parenthood Federation reported 5,633 abortion mills have closed because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, and 23 more have reduced the ability to murder unborn babies.

Most of the closures were in South Asia. Thankfully, the report from the murder giant anticipates that they will not be able to reopen many of these closed abortion mills.

Not surprisingly, the report did not mention the many lives of babies that would be saved due to the closures.

How COVID-19 has impacted China’s economy

China’s coronavirus outbreak is expected to send the world’s second biggest economy into decline for the first time since 1992.

Reuters polled analysts who expect China’s Gross Domestic Product to have shrunk by 6.5 percent between January and March 2020, reversing a 6 percent growth in the previous quarter. China releases their official first quarter GDP data on Friday.

Trump: Christian faith “treated very unfairly

During a press briefing on Saturday, President Donald Trump expressed his concern that Christians are not treated fairly, especially during the coronavirus outbreak response.

TRUMP: “I am somebody that believes in faith. And it matters not what your faith is, but our politicians seem to treat different faiths very differently. I don’t know what happened with our country, but the Christian faith is treated much differently than it was. And I think it’s treated very unfairly.”

Trump’s comments come after numerous churches have filed lawsuits over local social distancing policies that ban worship services.

Trump suspends green cards to give U.S. workers first shot at jobs

President Trump signed an executive order yesterday, limiting immigration and temporarily suspending new green cards during the coronavirus outbreak.

The order lasts for 60 days. Trump said the goal was to protect American workers and for unemployed Americans of all backgrounds to be first in line for jobs as the economy reopens.

$349 billion business bailout already distributed

The $349 billion U.S. government program to keep small businesses afloat during the coronavirus shutdown ran out of money last week.

Congress is now considering a $484 billion relief bill with $320 billion in small business loans.

The Trump administration is also trying to help small businesses by slashing regulations for them and limiting the number of new regulations to be imposed.

U.S. deaths from COVID-19 went down

On Monday, the U.S. saw the fewest number of coronavirus-related deaths in two weeks.

The number of deaths spiked several times last week to as high as 4,591 in a single day, but that number decreased to 1,433 deaths on Monday.

The total number of deaths in America to COVID-19 is 46,640.

Harvard’s attempt to belittle homeschooling backfires

And finally, in a stroke of poetic justice, Harvard Magazine’s May-June Issue contained an article warning of the dangers of homeschooling, but the magazine for the Ivy League school couldn’t even get the spelling right on their featured image!

In the article, Elizabeth Bartholet, a Harvard Law School professor, calls for a ban on homeschooling even as interest in homeschooling is skyrocketing during the coronavirus outbreak.

The featured image shows a girl in a house behind a barred window while other children play outside. Representing the homeschooler’s curriculum, the Bible is listed alongside Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic on the wall of the house. However, arithmetic is obviously misspelled on the original image!

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
