Black man who died in Minneapolis custody had Christian testimony

World Magazine, Christianity Today, and Religion News report on George Floyd, the Black victim, allegedly killed while in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Apparently, Floyd was involved with the discipleship efforts of a Christian pastor named Patrick “P.T.” Ngwolo in Houston.

World Magazine quotes Justin Bouldin, a pastor who interned with Resurrection Houston in the 3rd Ward, in his interaction with George Floyd. Bouldin said, “There was evidence of God working in his life. He had a genuine, authentic desire to follow Jesus in his everyday life and was trying to figure out how to do that.”

Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2018, under a Christian work program, and he had recently completed drug rehabilitation before the incident that took his life last week.

The 911 call prior to Floyd’s arrest accused him of being drunk and passing a $20 counterfeit bill.

The Scriptures require the death penalty for proven instances of murder, as in the case of Exodus 21: “He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death. . . if a man acts with premeditation against his neighbor, to kill him by treachery, you shall take him from My altar, that he may die.”

Trump mobilizes National Guard to stop race rioting, looting

As of yesterday afternoon, President Trump announcing he is mobilizing all federal resources to stop the rioting, the looting, and arson. He instructed the state governors to deploy the National Guard right away.

Listen.

TRUMP: “Today, I have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets. Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled.

“If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”

The carnage in the wake of the race riots

The riots which have ensued after Floyd’s death over the last six days have resulted in 4,500 arrests.

Six states and 13 cities have issued a state of emergency, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports 270 businesses destroyed by fire, vandalized, or looted. Over 70 sustained heavy damage by fire  — accounting for an estimated costs in the $10 to $50 million range.

Despite the ongoing damage, the Los Angeles Times points out that the riots have not come close to the Rodney King riots of 1992 which led to $1 billion in damage, 60 deaths, and thousands of injuries.

Carter and Bush 41 lost re-election bids due to low approval rating

Gallup Research points out that the two more recent US presidents with approval ratings under 40% in the election year lost their second term election — Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush.

Currently, Rasmussen poll and Five Thirty Eight have President Trump’s approval rating between 43 and 47%.

Pro-homosexual PCUSA lost another 50,000 members in 2019

The pro-homosexual Presbyterian Church USA lost another 50,000 members last year, and 120 churches.

The church membership stands at 1.3 million, down from 3 million in the 1980s.

Jesus speaks to the church at Thyatira in Revelation 2:20-23 I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality. Indeed, I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death.”

Colorado pro-lifers put 22-week abortion ban on ballot

The petition needed 124,632 valid signatures which were acquired over the last nine weeks by the “Due Date, Too Late” campaign.

Coronavirus will cost America $8 trillion over 10 years

The US Congressional Budget Office estimates the coronavirus will cost America $8 trillion over the next ten years.

And here’s the ripple effect: you can expect a $16 trillion decrease on the Gross Domestic Product this year.

Texas Quadruplets, conceived naturally, are doing well

The Texas Quadruplets, which were conceived naturally and born to Jenny and Chris Marr in Texas, are doing fine, reports NBC’s Today show.

In God’s providence, Hudson, Harrison, Henry and Hardy were born in March at a Dallas hospital. Each year, only nine sets of quadruplets are born in the U.S.  The odds of having quadruplets, without IVF treatment, are one in 13 million!
