Some Nigerian girls abducted seven years ago escaped
Some of the Nigerian Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram, the Muslim terrorist group, nearly seven years ago have finally escaped from their captors, a father of one of the girls told CNN.
Halima Maiyanga, one of more than 100 young women still missing, called her father to say she and others had managed to flee Boko Haram militants last Thursday.
Maiyanga said, “She asked me, ‘Is this my daddy?’ and she started crying. I never expected to hear from her again. Our house is full of people who are rejoicing with us.”
It is not yet clear how many of the remaining 112 missing girls have managed to escape.
In 2014, Muslim militants stormed a boarding school in the Nigerian village of Chibok and kidnapped 276 girls — an incident which gained widespread attention and sparked an international campaign advocating for their release with the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.
Dozens of girls escaped almost immediately after the mass abduction. Another girl was found in May 2016 when she wandered out of a Nigerian forest asking for help.
That same year Boko Haram released 21 girls to the Nigerian government after negotiations. Then, in 2017, 82 more girls were freed in a prisoner swap between the terrorist group and the government.
This is the first time any of the remaining 112 girls have surfaced since then.
Rush Limbaugh explains the GameStop phenomenon
Ever since GameStop, the largest video game chain that sells physical copies of video games, started to make a lot of money, the liberal elite have wanted to shut it down.
Talk show host Rush Limbaugh explained.
LIMBAUGH: “A bunch of people on Reddit figured out how to game the system. They figured out how to turn the system into a profit-making device for themselves. … The reason that it’s fascinating. Now, it’s not just politics. Now they’re not just calling us racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes in a way to control us, in a way to shame us. Now, they’re actually making it clear to anybody who has the ability to notice that you’re not allowed to use the stock market the way they do. You’re not allowed to profit. You’re not allowed to make the kind of money they do.
“A group of Reddit users decided to beat Wall Street at its own game. They got together, banded together, and began buying GameStop stocks. That drove the price up. Other regular traders saw the price increase; they began buying, and some real momentum was created. But now the hedge fund guys who sold short are losing their shirts. The hedge fund guys, the elites, had planned to sell GameStop short. That means they are counting on GameStop losing money. They only win if GameStop loses.
“Well, the GameStop stock price was $4 last summer, $20 at the end of 2020, $40 two weeks ago. It was worth $100 on Monday and Tuesday, and today it’s $300. The hedge funds are taking it in the shorts. I mean, big time they are. They’re being wiped out to a certain extent, and they don’t like it.”
Limbaugh revealed what’s happening now in light of the success of the GameStop stockholders.
LIMBAUGH: “They’re shutting down trades in GameStop in order to protect the elites. Folks, it’s not some obscure thing involving what young kids are doing. … The teachable moment here is how this censorship that we are experiencing from tech media, the tech oligarchs, is not contained to your political thoughts. It’s not limited to who you vote for and who your political friends and enemies are. No, no, no. It extends to money: How you earn it, how much you earn, how much you’re not permitted to earn.”
Airlines push back on potential COVID testing for domestic flights
The U.S. this week started requiring travelers to show negative COVID-19 tests before flying to the United States from abroad, reports CNBC.
Now, the Biden administration is “actively looking” at whether to mandate COVID-19 tests before domestic flights. Airlines balked.
On a quarterly call Thursday, Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly asked, “Why pick on air travel? If you want to test people, test them before they go to the grocery store. Test them before they go to a restaurant. Test them before they go to a sporting event.”
17-year-old YouTube star Jojo Siwa identifies as LGBT
Finally, 17-year-old YouTube megastar Jojo Siwa, who has 12.1 million YouTube subscribers and 10.4 million Instagram followers, just announced that she identifies as LGBT, reports LifeSiteNews.com.
With a fashion accessory company aimed at 6- to 12-year-old girls, Siwa has now pronounced that she is certainly not straight. She said, “I just always believed that my person was going to be my person. If that person happened to be a boy, great, and if that happened to be a girl, great! Of course, people are going to say, ‘It’s not normal!’ But nothing is normal. … It’s OK to be a little different, it’s OK to be a little weird. … That’s something we should be proud of.”
Siwa is flirting with a dramatic violation of God’s design articulated in Genesis 2:24. “A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Jonathon Van Maren of LifeSiteNews writes, “The same parents who send their children to a Christian school to avoid state indoctrination are frequently happy to park their kids in front of screens where content, produced by people who hate Christianity, is streamed.”
