Pastor in India Feels the Presence of Christ During Violent Hindu Attack

When Hindu extremists in India told Pastor Karma Oraon they would not stop beating him until he worshipped the monkey god, he felt Christ close to him, reports Morning Star News.

His small flock of eight people was meditating on Scripture on Christmas Eve at 10:30 a.m. in Harmu village of Ranchi District, Jharkhand state, when twice as many Hindu nationalists brandishing wooden sticks intruded, demanding that they praise a popular monkey god.

They told the congregation, “All the Christians in this area beware! There is no place for Christianity here. All of you must embrace Sarna. If anybody goes against this rule, their houses will be set on fire and they will be killed along with their families.”

Pastor Oraon said, “I strongly feel the presence of my Lord Jesus in all this. Had He not granted the strength to endure, I could have never overcome from what happened.”

Psalm 18:2 says, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in Whom I take refuge.”

Volcano in the Philippines Spews Lava as Far as 1.2 Miles

A lava-spewing volcano in the central Philippines sent more than 34,000 people fleeing for shelter on Tuesday, reports World Magazine.

The lava flowed as far as 1.2 miles from Mount Mayon, and ash fell over several villages. The volcano’s activity signified a possible eruption within days or weeks.

Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana Removes Christmas Posts After Atheist Group Complains

A Louisiana sheriff’s office has removed biblical and Christian posts from its Facebook page following a complaint from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, reports The Christian Post.

The atheist group’s Andrew Seidel was especially bothered by a December 2016 post which said, “Many centuries ago, the Jewish prophet Isaiah said, ‘For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace,’ (Isaiah 9:6). That prophecy was fulfilled hundreds of years later with the birth of Jesus, and it is His birth that we celebrate during this Christmas season.”

The atheists were upset that the Louisiana Sheriff’s office dared to acknowledge Jesus Christ as the reason for the season.

More Than 300,000 People Expected to March for Life in Washington, DC

As the 45th anniversary of the egregious Roe v. Wade decision approaches on January 22nd, more than 300,000 Americans are expected to march in Washington, DC to celebrate life and condemn the abortions of nearly 60,000,000 baby boys and baby girls.

While the networks often overlook the March for Life, it exemplifies the strength and youth of the pro-life movement.

U.S. Oil Production Expected to Hit Record High

Surging shale production will help push U.S. oil output to more than 10 million barrels per day, toppling a record set back in 1970, and rivaling Russia, the world’s top producer, reports Reuters.

Actor Kevin Sorbo Barred from East Coast Comicon

Christian actor Kevin Sorbo, star of Sean Hannity’s movie “Let There Be Light” and Pure Flix’ “God’s Not Dead” has been barred from making an appearance at East Coast Comicon in New Jersey in late April, reports PJ Media.

In a Facebook post, event organizer and comic book artist Cliff Galbraith said, “I turned down Kevin Sorbo for East Comicon. He pals with Sean Hannity. I just can’t do it.”

In response, Sorbo said, “Ah, the lovely Lefties who scream for tolerance and freedom of speech. Too bad it is all a one-way street for them. They need their little safe spaces because I am too scary to them.”

Special Report on Marital Infidelity After the Newscast

Ever wonder whether married men or married women are more likely to cheat? Stay tuned for Emily Swanson’s World View Special Report immediately following today’s newscast.

300,000 People March in San Antonio to Honor the Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr

And finally, on a personal note, on Monday I took my two oldest children – Honor and Mercy — to walk in the largest Martin Luther King, Junior march in America right here in San Antonio.

The Alamo City became the first major southern city to integrate its lunch counters on March 16, 1960. Six city stores responded positively to letters sent on March 7 by Mary Andrews, a freshman at Our Lady of the Lake College, with the support of the local NAACP. Plus, San Antonio’s Police Chief George Bichsell told news outlets that police would not stop sit-ins, unless they “created a disturbance”, which were going to begin on March 17th, 1960.

Perhaps that’s why, despite the relatively small 7% black population of San Antonio, we have the largest MLK march in America, attracting 300,000 people.

My favorite banner along the route declared, “Abortion: evil tool of black genocide. Keep his dream alive and preserve your unborn baby.”

Special Report: Study Researches Trends in Marital Infidelity

Time now for a World View Special Report by Emily Swanson.

The Institute for Family Studies recently published a report on marital infidelity.

Women between the ages of 18 and 29 were more likely to be unfaithful. But among the age group 30-34, marital infidelity shifts to men.

The World View spoke to Wendy Wang, the researcher who conducted the study.

“What I looked at was gender, race, age, education, party ID, and family background, and also religion. What I found is that there’s some big gender differences. There’s also a racial difference, you know; black adults are much more likely than other racial groups to be unfaithful. Age is interesting, because as I mentioned in the research at the beginning, we see different age patterns for men and women. It’s not the same for men and women. Education, interestingly, is not linked to the level of cheating. But there’s the nuanced story because it actually matters for men, but not for women.”

Wang went into further depth about how family background and party identification affect marriages.

“Democrats are more likely than a Republican to have an affair. And also the family background is an interesting factor. People who grow up with both parents; they grow up in a steady home, a stable home, they’re more likely to be faithful to their spouse.”

Wang said that faithful church attendance impacts marital faithfulness in a positive way.

“Religious service attendance. People who attend church or another house of worship are more likely to be faithful to their spouse or less likely to cheat.”

The World View asked Wang why faithful church attendance seems to affect marriages in such a good way.

“I think it has something to do with church teaching. Most churches are teaching if you’re faithful to your church, then you need to be faithful to your family, your spouse, and so I think these are all consistent behaviors. And religion also tends to emphasize family, the wellbeing of men, women, and children. We see a lot of churches have men’s and women’s groups.  And that helps family, and it helps marriage.”

Wang said that this is a sobering reminder that cheating on your spouse is never good for the family.

“I think everyone knows that if you cheated on your spouse it’s not good for the family, but we found some numbers to back it up. When I look at the link between cheating and the current marital status there’s a strong link that the people who have cheated on their spouse in the past are much less likely to be currently married, and they’re more likely to be divorced. So that does mean that cheating has pretty serious consequences on your family’s stability.”

Pray for the marriages that are under attack. Let us all remain prayerful, watchful, and vigilant, knowing that the enemy is always seeking to undermine these sacred relationships.

Pray that Christian families would desire to glorify God in their marriages and that they would set an example of how Jesus truly changes marriages.

And let’s take heed, lest we fall.

Pray 1 Peter 5:8-10 for your marriage.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after ye have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

Illegal Immigrant Teenager in Federal Custody Released to Get an Abortion

Sadly, a 17-year-old illegal immigrant, known as Jane Moe was released by the Trump administration so that she can abort her 17-week-old baby, reports Newsweek.

Not surprisingly, the leftist American Civil Liberties Union sued the Trump administration so she could kill her innocent baby.

Last October, the Trump administration, in contrast to former President Obama, said there was “no constitutional right for a pregnant minor to illegally cross the U.S. border and get an elective abortion while in federal custody.”

Over Half of British Adults Pray Including Some Identifying as Non-Religious

More than half of British adults pray, a new survey by Christian charity Tearfund has revealed, including, oddly enough, a fifth of people who say they are not religious, reports Christian Today.

The amount of people who pray regularly (20 percent) is more than double the amount of people who go church regularly (9 percent).

Among those with no religious affiliation who pray, the top reasons for praying were: in times of personal crisis or tragedy (55 percent), on the off chance that something could change (32 percent), as a last resort (24 percent), or to gain comfort or feel less lonely (23 percent).

6,000 People March for Life in Chicago

Chicago has a well-deserved liberal, pro-abortion reputation.

But on Sunday, a record 6,000 pro-lifers braved the cold temperatures to take a stand for the unborn babies during Chicago’s March for Life.

Former Planned Parenthood director Ramona Trevino, author of Redeemed by Grace, said, “The deadliest thing in the world is indifference. It is love that brings us here today. [It] makes it possible for Planned Parenthood to perform over 300,000 abortions a year and for politicians to fund Planned Parenthood to the tune of half a billion dollars of our money.”

University of Iowa Revokes Registration of Business Leaders in Christ

Business Leaders in Christ, a student led group at the University of Iowa, denied a leadership position to a homosexual student named Marcus Miller. The university, which has a policy mandating the affirmation of sexual perversion, revoked the group’s campus registration last November.

While Business Leaders in Christ says its membership is open to everyone, they insist that their leaders must affirm a statement of faith that rejects homosexual behavior as an aberration, reports the Associated Press.

As a result, they can no longer reserve campus meeting space, participate in student recruitment fairs, access funds from student activity fees or use university-wide communication services.

That’s why the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty is suing the school on behalf of Business Leaders in Christ.
