Pakistani Muslims gunned down Catholic father of four

A 29-year-old Pakistani Catholic father of four young children was gunned down by Muslim neighbors last week after he objected to their harassment of Catholics in the area, reports Morning Star News.

Marshall Masih of Lahore was the sole breadwinner for his elderly parents, wife and four children – who ranged from 10 years old to 18 months old.

Please pray God’s comfort for the Masih family.

Biden could withdraw from race imminently

President Joe Biden is taking calls to step aside as the Democratic presidential candidate seriously and multiple Democratic officials think an exit is a matter of time, reports Reuters.

Biden, 81, who recently contracted contracted COVID while campaigning in Las Vegas, has faced increasing pressure from heavyweights in his party to cede his position at the top of the ticket after a shoddy debate performance against former President Donald Trump as well as demonstrable mental acuity issues.

Even Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York reportedly urged him to drop out of the race, reports ABC News.

Describing assassination attempt, Trump said, “God is on my side.”

Last night, as former President Donald Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he described Saturday night’s assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, reports The Epoch Times.

TRUMP: “I heard a loud whizzing sound and felt something hit me really, really hard on my right ear. I said to myself, ‘Wow, what was that? It can only be a bullet and moved my right hand to my ear, brought it down. My hand was covered with blood. I immediately knew it was very serious that we were under attack. I proceeded to drop to the ground.

“Bullets were continuing to fly as very brave Secret Service agents rushed to the stage and pounced on top of me so that I would be protected. There was blood pouring everywhere and yet, in a certain way, I felt very safe because I had God on my side. (cheers) I felt that.

“And the amazing thing is that prior to the shot, if I had not moved my head at that very last instant, the assassin’s bullet would have perfectly hit its mark, and I would not be here tonight. We would not be together.”

Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very ready help in trouble.”

Trump opposes illegals invasion Biden has encouraged on southern border

Trump described the difference between President Joe Biden, who has allowed the invasion into America at our Southern border, numbering 8-20 million, and the chart which he had referenced in Butler, Pennsylvania which saved his life as he looked toward it and escaped the assassin’s bullet meant for his brain.

TRUMP: “Less than four years ago, I handed this administration the strongest border in American history. But you can see on the chart that saved my life –that was the chart that saved my life — I said, ‘Look at it. I’m so proud of it. I think it’s one of the greatest. That was was done by the Border Patrol. One of the greatest charts I’ve ever seen. It showed everything just like that, you know, the chart.

“Oh, there it is. That’s pretty good. Wow!  Last time I put up that chart, I never really got to look at it. (laughter) But without that chart, I would not be here today! (cheers)

“I said, ‘You’ve got to see this chart.’ I was so proud of it. And by the time I got to there … I never got to see it that day. But I’m seeing it now. And I was very proud. And if you look at the arrow in the bottom, that’s the lowest level, the one on the bottom, heavy red arrow. That’s the lowest level of illegal immigrants ever to come into our country in recorded history, right there. That was my last week in office.”

Trump: “I will make America affordable again.”

And Trump vowed to fix America’s crippled economy and cast a vision not only for American energy independence again, but American energy dominance.

TRUMP: “Starting on Day One, we will drive down prices and make America affordable again. It’s not affordable. People can’t live like this. Under this administration, groceries are up 57%, gasoline is up 60 and 70%. Mortgage rates have quadrupled. The total household costs have increased an average of $28,000 per family under this administration.

“Republicans have a plan to bring down prices and bring them down very, very rapidly. by slashing energy costs. We will in turn reduce the cost of transportation, manufacturing, and all household goods.

“And remember, we have more liquid gold under our feet than any other country by far. Under the Trump administration, just three and a half years ago, we were energy independent, but soon we will actually be better than that. We will be energy dominant and supply not only ourselves, but we will supply the rest of the world.”

CBS News described Trump’s 90-minute speech as the longest convention speech in modern American history. (You can read or search the transcript for key words through a special link at www.TheWorldview.com)

News anchor Lou Dobbs has died

Lou Dobbs, the conservative political pundit and longtime host of “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” on CNN and then Fox Business Network, has died. He was 78.

After 30 years on the air on CNN, he announced his last broadcast on that cable news network in 2009.

DOBBS: “This will be my last broadcast here on CNN where I’ve worked for the past 30 years. I’m the last of the original anchors here on CNN and I’m proud to have had the privilege of helping to build the world’s first news network.

“Over the past six months, it’s become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us. And some leaders in media, politics, and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN, and to engage in constructive problem solving, as well as to contribute positively to a better understanding of the great issues of our day.”

Dobbs became known for his fight against illegal immigration, his warnings about Islamist terrorism, and his opposition to outsourcing when industrial jobs in the United States were being moved overseas, contributing to the economic and cultural collapse of small, industrial towns. Dobbs was also known for his pro-Trump coverage.

Sitcom legend Bob Newhart, a faithful husband, has died

And finally, comedian and sitcom legend Bob Newhart has died at age 94, reports Fox News.

Known for his deadpan, stammering humor, Newhart, a comedian who left accounting, signed with Warner Records to record “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart” which sold like hotcakes.

He became known for “The Bob Newhart Show,” a series which ran from 1972-1978 in which he portrayed a Chicago psychologist living with his wife.

Later, he starred in another sitcom called Newhart, which ran from 1982-1990, in which he portrayed a Vermont innkeeper in a small town with eccentric characters.

In his later years, he played the father of Buddy, the unusually tall elf in the 2003 Christmas movie starring Will Ferrell.

Unlike many of his multi-divorced Hollywood friends, Bob Newhart was married to his bride, Ginnie, for 60 years.

In fact, on an awards show, Newhart shared this story about his wife to whom he had then been married for 40 years.

NEWHART: “I have to thank my wife of 40 years. She has kept me grounded. She never lets me get too full of myself.

“We have in California —  on Wednesdays, they pick up the garbage and you have to recycle it, you know, take plastic and the paper and that all goes in one, one place.

“And very often late Tuesday, my wife will say to me, ‘Honey, would you take out the recycling? They’re picking it up tomorrow and you got to separate it.’

I will say to her, ‘Do you think Joanne Woodward asked, asked Paul Newman to recycle the, the cans and the plastic?’ And she said, ‘If you were Paul Newman, I wouldn’t ask you to do it.’”

Proverbs 17:22 says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
