Christians Across the World Face Increased Violence
Violence against Christians is increasing in other parts of the world.
A report submitted to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari cites the deaths of 16,000 people, mostly Christians, since 2015 when Buhari took office. Muslim extremists drove much of the violence.
Persecution Relief found that attacks against Christians in India doubled in 2017 compared to 2016 as Hindu nationalists have risen to power there.
In 2 Corinthians 4:9-10, the Apostle Paul wrote he was “persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
Homeschooled Boy in Norway Returned to His Family
Praise the Lord! 12-year-old Kai Kristiansen was returned to his family after being forcibly removed from his home by officials in Norway because his parents dared to choose to homeschool him.
The Christian family announced the news on Wednesday, thanking the Christian homeschoolers across the world who made it possible.
However, in return for sending Kai home, authorities forced the family to give up their passports until May 3 and allow the school’s psychological service to interact with Kai.
Polish Legislature Shouts “Shame!” at Pro-Abortion Bill
Polish legislators strongly opposed a bill to legalize abortion on demand and restrict rights to protest abortion, reports Life Site News. Members of the ruling party reportedly shouted “Shame!”, pounding their desks and voting down the measure.
The lawmakers went on to consider a bill to ban eugenic abortions that discriminate against unborn babies with disabilities.
Britain Supports Transgender Treatments for Teens
Britain’s Department of Health and Social Care is supporting transgender treatments as a right for people as young as 16 to “determine what happens to their own bodies.”
This came after a petition with 8,000 signatures by a Christian group Voice for Justice UK called on the government to ban sex-change treatments for people under 18.
New Jersey Governor Signs Bill Giving Taxpayer Funding to Planned Parenthood
Democratic New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed a bill into law yesterday that forces taxpayers, even those who don’t support Planned Parenthood, to fund the abortion business.
The World View spoke to the Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life, Marie Tasy, who said that women’s health care had already been funded through centers that do not do abortions.
“Women’s health care has been funded the past eight years through Governor Christie’s appropriation to the more than 100 federally qualified health centers that exist around the state. In addition, the governor also appropriated funding for the New Jersey CEED program which prevents breast cancer and also does cervical screenings. Women have been getting their health care contrary to the hyperbole that Governor Murphy has been spreading.”
Tasy said this was completely a political move by Governor Murphy.
“Obviously the taxpayers of New Jersey should be aware that this is being done for political purposes and that all the claims that they’re putting out there are not true.”
Tasy asked that people pray fervently for the state of New Jersey.
Parkland, Florida School Shooter Now on Trial
God declared in Genesis 9:6, “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.”
Sobering words indeed for the shooter who perpetrated last week’s tragic Parkland, Florida school shooting who is now on trial for 17 counts of first-degree murder. The defense attorney for Nikolas Cruz said the suspect is prepared to plead guilty if the death penalty is not applied.
Evangelist Billy Graham Passes Away at 99
Evangelist Billy Graham went home to be with the Lord yesterday morning at the age of 99. He died at his home in North Carolina of natural causes.
Known around the world for his evangelical crusades, Graham preached to more than 200 million people in 185 countries during a 60-year ministry.
When asked once where heaven is, Graham replied, “Heaven is where Jesus is and I am going to Him soon!”
Revelation 14:13 says, “Blessed are those who die in the Lord . . . that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
