Myanmar military arrested three pastors over prayer services
Authorities in the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar arrested three pastors last week just for organizing prayer services.
The pastors from Kachin State led a service in March to pray for peace in their land.
The Burmese military took control of the country back in February. Since then, the military has increasingly targeted religious minorities, especially Christians.

United Kingdom to lift all COVID restrictions in July
The United Kingdom will lift nearly all COVID-19 restrictions this month.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid addressed the House of Commons on Monday. Javid announced the government would lift all restrictions on worship services as Members of Parliament approved with exclamations of “Hallelujah!”
JAVID: “It will no longer be a legal requirement to wear face coverings in any setting including public transport, although we will advise this as a voluntary measure for crowded and enclosed spaces. It will no longer be necessary to work from home.
“There will be no limits on the number of people you can meet. There will be no limits on the number of people who can attend life events like weddings and funerals. And there will be no restrictions on communal worship or singing.”
Iowa Supreme Court: Planned Parenthood can be blocked from sex ed in schools
Last week, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled the state can block Planned Parenthood from conducting sex education programs in public schools.
In 2019, Iowa passed legislation to ban the abortion giant from receiving grant money to teach sex education.
Planned Parenthood challenged the law last year, and a state court judge found the law unconstitutional. Thankfully, the state supreme court overturned that ruling.
U.S. Supreme Court upholds election integrity in Arizona
Last Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld two voting restrictions passed by Arizona to preserve election integrity.
The restrictions disqualify ballots cast in the wrong precinct and ban “ballot harvesting” where a third party returns someone else’s early ballot.
Democrats argued the laws discriminated against voters of color. However, the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling found the restrictions did not violate the Voting Rights Act.
Americans have prioritized shopping over worshipping
An Associated Press poll found 73% of Americans who attended worship services regularly before the pandemic plan to attend in-person services in the coming weeks.
Only 34% of Americans in general said they would be attending in-person services in the coming weeks. Americans generally prioritized other things as COVID restrictions are lifting — like socializing, shopping, and going to restaurants.
Matthew 13:22 warns, “Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the Word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.”
New York City’s bizarre vote during mayoral primary
New York City became the largest jurisdiction in the U.S. to use an alternative voting system last month during their mayoral primary.
The primary used ranked-choice voting which allows voters to rank multiple candidates in order of preference. A candidate wins immediately if he receives a majority of people’s first-choice votes. However, if no candidate receives such a majority, the last-place candidate is dropped and their votes are put toward those voters’ second choices. The process continues until a candidate wins a majority.
Pew Research identified over 260 jurisdictions across the U.S. that use some kind of alternative voting system.
Boy Scouts agrees to pay $850 million to sex abuse victims
The Boy Scouts of America reached an $850 million settlement with tens of thousands of victims of child sex abuse.
The organization has faced accusations of abuse by leaders and volunteers since 1960. The Boy Scouts filed for bankruptcy last year.
Eight years ago, the Boy Scouts allowed homosexuals into the organization. Since then, the group has lost two million members. Many have gone to Trail Life, a Christian scouting program which does not allow homosexual members or leaders.
Galatians 6:7-8 says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
Cartoons increasingly feature sexually perverted characters
The Insider reports children’s cartoons are increasingly featuring characters representing sexually perverted lifestyles and gender confusion.
At the same time, kids networks are losing viewers by the hundreds of thousands.
Meanwhile, Angel Studios raised over $5 million to make an animated version of The Wingfeather Saga by Christian musician and author Andrew Peterson.
The fictional series specifically aims at encouraging the family unit, not destroying it.
Hawaii Worldview listener contrasts the unbeliever with the Christian
Aimee Adams in Lahaina, Hawaii wrote me at Adam@TheWorldview.com. She said, “The world has been lying to us. When the Supreme Court removed God from the public schools, you see the chaos that has resulted.
