Imprisoned Pastor: “I’ve Never Done Anything Against Turkey.”

American pastor and missionary Andrew Brunson’s trial began yesterday in Turkey.

Those attending the trial included Brunson’s wife, North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, and Sam Brownback, the United States Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, according to Hurriyet Daily News in Turkey.

Brunson told the court, “I have never done anything against Turkey! I love Turkey. I have been praying for Turkey for 25 years. I want the truth to come out.”

The ACLJ reports that instead of being returned to the prison where he had been held most recently, the judge ordered Pastor Brunson to be taken back to an overcrowded and extremely grim prison where he was held initially.

Brunson has been under arrest in a Turkish prison for 18 months.

Ireland Ready to Greenlight Abortion

Ireland will be the last nation to legalize abortion in the Western world, if the referendum goes according to the polls — except for Northern Ireland.

The vote is set for May 25th.

Britain’s Deadly Political Correctness

Britain now has its first Free Speech Buffer Zone set around abortion mills in East London. A municipal council placed a 100-meter zone around an abortion clinic, making it difficult for pro-life protesters to make any contact with mothers who are considering the murder of their children.

This comes in response to an increase in pro-life fervor around the clinic in the city of Ealing. Religion News Service reports that the clinic has become a culture war battleground in recent years.

Most Serious Attack on American Freedom of Speech

Washington Examiner columnist and constitutional attorney Jenna Ellis is calling the California bill — AB 2943 — “one of the most serious attacks against freedom of speech ever contemplated in U.S. history.”

The bill, which would criminalize churches that promote materials which oppose the sin of homosexuality, is scheduled for a third hearing in the California Assembly this week. It passed the Judiciary Committee by a vote of 8-1 with seven Democrats and one Republican who voted for it, and one Republican who opposed it.

Ellis told The World View that this bill has far-reaching implications for Christians in California.

“This is going to have really far reaching implications, for example, a pastor who stands up and gives a message about some of these issues and says, ‘For further information you can visit our bookstore where we have resources like Nancy Pearcey’s new book, Love Thy Body or Ryan Anderson’s new book, When Harry Became Sally,’ that would fall under a consumer product, and California would make that illegal and potentially the pastor could have legal consequences for that conduct.”

Ellis insists that problematic bills like this should be stopped at the legislatures, well before they are appealed to the Supreme Court.

John 3:20 says, “For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.”

Liberal New Yorker Magazine Taunts Christian Chick-Fil-A

New Yorker Magazine attacked Chick-Fil-A, calling the fast food chain, “creepy pervasive Christian traditionalism awash with cash, Christ, and evangelizing cows.”

Despite closing on Sundays, God has blessed Chick-Fil-A with the highest per store sales income in the country for fast food restaurants, earning $2.85 million per store in 2013, and a whopping $4.0 million per store in 2015.

1 Samuel 2:30 tells us “Now the LORD says. . .for them that honor Me I will honor, and they that despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.”

Megachurch Pastor Bill Hybels Named by #MeToo Women

America’s megachurch pastor and church growth guru, Bill Hybels, founder of Willow Creek Community Church outside Chicago, accepted early retirement after reports of sexual misconduct continue to pester his ministries.

The Chicago Tribune led an investigation of Hybels, examining multiple allegations, interviewing current and former church members, elders and employees, as well as reviewing hundreds of emails and internal records.

In the wake of the scandal, the paper also reported that Tyndale suspended publication of Hybels’ book Everyone Wins When a Leader Gets Better and InterVarsity Press suspended publication of another Hybels book, ironically entitled, Who You Are When No One’s Looking.

Lesbian Couple Committed Suicide, Killed Adopted Kids

The Mendocino County Sheriff has completed much of the investigation of the wreck off the cliffs along the northern California coast involving two lesbians and the six children in their care.

According to CNN, Sheriff Tom Allman says he’s not calling this an accident. The driver was drunk, and the children were drugged according to the report. The national media has attempted to glorify the two lesbians, Jennifer Hart and Sarah Hart, for their “adoption” of the six children, all of whom died in the accident.

According to the sheriff, the driver accelerated as she drove the vehicle over the cliff.

Proverbs 11:3 says, “The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.”

Trump Stands Up to Websites Promoting Prostitution

President Trump has signed the House bill, the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act, and the Senate bill, the Stop Enabling Sex-Trafficking Act, into law which places more liability on websites which are used to advertise prostitution.

Consequently, dozens of websites, including CraigsList.org, have modified their advertising policies or have removed content over the last few weeks.

Those fighting human trafficking hope this will slow down the child prostitution problem in America.
