American Pastor Still Imprisoned in Turkey

U.S. Pastor Andrew Brunson is still in prison on trumped up “terror charges” in Turkey since before Thanksgiving of 2016. His family is eagerly awaiting his release, but the Turkish government has been hampering the work of the American Center for Law and Justice in his defense.

Cece Heil, Senior Counsel for ACLJ, spoke to The World View on why Brunson was arrested in the first place.

“We don’t have any factual evidence or indications. Our best assumption is that it has to do with the failed coup attempt last July and President Erewhon’s attempt to gather up anyone who he determined could possibly be adverse to his administration.”

 Heil explained the greatest obstacle in the case.

“Relaying the issue and our requests has not been hindered as much as the possibility of helping his Turkish attorney. Because of the attempted coup there have been orders that have come down and really affected the case, not allowing his attorney to have a conversation with Pastor Brunson that aren’t recorded. If she takes any notes, they’re copied. The file is completely sealed so she has not been able to get any information, any indication of the charges or any evidence.”

Friends of Imprisoned Canadian Pro-Lifer Visit and Pray for Her on Her Birthday

Canadian pro-life hero, Mary Wagner, spent her birthday on February 12th in prison, reported Life Site News. Wagner was arrested back in December for giving information to a woman at an abortion mill on alternatives to killing her baby.

Pro-life friends joined her in prison on Mary’s birthday. They appealed to the Just God who reigns over heaven and earth for Mary’s release, and a change in Canada’s laws. Please pray for Mary as she waits in prison for her May 24-25 court hearing.

Report Shows 90 Percent of UK Universities Restrict Free Speech

A new report from The Free Speech University Ranking revealed 90 percent of UK universities are restricting free speech. The study found 63 percent of universities “actively censored speech and expression” in the last year, a 68 percent increase since 2015.

The report also found pro-life groups have been stifled in the university context.

The controversial columnist and outspoken homosexual, Milo Yiannapolois resigned from his position at Breitbart.com, after previous comments he made supporting pedophilia were publicized on the internet.

Trump Administration Reverses Obama’s Bathroom Policy

The Trump administration reversed Obama’s transgender bathroom policy yesterday, reported Fox News.

The Solicitor General’s office submitted a document to the Supreme Court stating Obama’s directive did not “undergo any formal public process.”

Atheist Teacher Under Investigation for Calling Her Christian Students “Cretins” on Facebook

​Susan Creamer, an atheist teacher, at Merritt Brown Middle School in Panama City, Florida called her students “cretins” or fools – on a Facebook post after they invited her to church.

The Bay District is now investigating Susan’s behavior, which violates district policy of not criticizing students in person or through the internet, reported One News Now.

Study Indicates United States May Have Lowest Life Expectancy by 2030​

By 2030, life expectancy in certain places will be 90 years, according to research by scientists working with the World Health Organization.

The study published Wednesday covered 35 developed countries. South Koreans topped the list for life expectancy, while the United States will likely have the lowest life expectancy by 2030.

Seven Earth-Size Planets Discovered Orbiting a Star 40 Light Years Away

Astronomers recently discovered seven earth-sized planets, orbiting a star called TRAPPIST-1 about 40 light years away. Scientists have noted three of those planets could have liquid water on the surface. NASA described the discovery of this remarkable solar system as record-breaking.

While scientists speculate about life on other planets, we can say with the Psalmist “You are the LORD, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host.” (Nehemiah 9:6)
