Trump: First president to attend the March for Life

Since the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling that virtually legalized abortion, President Donald Trump was the first president to address the March for Life in person last Friday.

TRUMP: “It is my profound honor to be the first president in history to attend the March for Life. (applause and cheers) We’re here for a very simple reason to defend the right of every child — born and unborn — to fulfill their God-given potential. (applause and cheers)

“For 47 years, Americans of all backgrounds have traveled from across the country to stand for life. And today as President of the United States, I am truly proud to stand with you.  (applause and cheers)

“The life movement is led by strong women, amazing faith leaders, and brave students who carry on the legacy of pioneers before us to raise the conscience of our nation and uphold the rights of our citizens. You embrace mothers with care and compassion. You are powered by prayer and motivated by pure, unselfish love.”

(You can watch the entire 13-minute speech by President Trump here.)

In Jeremiah 1:5, God says to his prophet, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

CBS ignores March for Life, features Planned Parenthood CEO

Not surprisingly, the CBS online channel didn’t provide live coverage of the president’s remarks to the March for Life on Friday.  They only mentioned it for a few seconds before leaping into more impeachment analysis, reports LifeNews.com.

But in the minutes before impeachment coverage on Wednesday, they ran an exclusive interview from Davos, Switzerland with Planned Parenthood acting CEO Alexis Johnson.

KATE SMITH: What is the status of abortion and reproductive health in the United States today?

ALEXIS JOHNSON: Here we are [at the Davos conference] talking about the fourth industrial revolution, and we are still talking about the impact of all of these onerous restrictions and bans on access to safe and legal abortion in the states.”

Stephanopoulos Caught in Throat-Slitting Gesture to End Trump Lawyer Talking

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos was captured on camera making a “slit-the-throat” gesture to producers — telling them to cut away from a press Q&A session with Trump attorney Jay Sekulow, reports NewsBusters.org.

After Sekulow made a compelling point, carried live by ABC, Stephanopoulos gestured to cut Sekulow’s comments short as President Trump’s attorney was getting ready to answer another question.

Listen.

SEKULOW:  “We’ve got something very different than what you’re hearing up here. We’ve got lawyers, when our side of the case goes, that represent multiple schools of thought on what is and is not an impeachable offense.  But they have one thing in common: that the actions alleged and the actions of the president do not reach that level, no matter which school of thought you’re on. We’re not afraid to put out both of those schools of thought because our position is you still have to meet basic fundamental constitutional obligations, and they haven’t. Next …”

REPORTER: “How much more work …

SEKULOW: “I’m sorry?”

REPORTER: “…do you think you have ahead to convince …”

STEPHANOPOULOS: “And that is Jay Sekulow right there.”

Christian talk show host Todd Starnes said, “Folks, do not be fooled by the Mainstream Media. They have absolutely no intention of giving the president or any of his defenders a fair shake.”

Jon Voight stands with President Trump against removal from office

Jon Voight is standing by President Trump.

The 81-year-old actor, longtime Trump supporter, and the father of actress Angelina Jolie asked his followers for prayers for the president amid the impeachment trial in a new video he posted to Twitter on Friday, reports USA Today.

VOIGHT: “Now listen here, my fellow Americans of the USA, the President is in much danger from this radical left-wing group.  And what does the Left want to do?  To knock down a nation of God’s glory. This is a disgrace to mankind and a disgrace to the people of the United States of America. This is a crime, an impeachment to take down a nation’s success for their control and deceit and disgusting lies against our President Trump who held to his promise for our country.

“We call upon and ask God to place His hands upon this nation of the United States of America and bless and protect the truth for our President Donald Trump so he can continue his legacy as one of our greatest presidents.”

TobyMac confirms son died from drug overdose

And finally, it has just been confirmed that TobyMac’s son, Truett Foster McKeehan, died of an accidental overdose last October, reports the Christian Post.

In a statement to People magazine, the representative said McKeehan overdosed on fentanyl and amphetamines.

The 21-year-old aspiring rapper died suddenly on Oct. 23, 2019. The Davidson County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that first responders went to the family’s home in Franklin, Tennessee, after 911 was called to report a young male suffering cardiac arrest.

More than 70,200 Americans died in 2017 from using illegal or prescription drugs. Of that number over 47,600 died from an opioid overdose, a twofold increase in just one decade, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Earlier this month, TobyMac released a song titled “21 Years,” calling it an “honest” letter to his first-born child.

Although he admits he never wanted to pen such a song, the Christian pioneer hopes the new single will help others who are also grieving the loss of a loved one.

“Woke up ’cause the light poured in
Day two let the flood begin
Day one left me in my bed (In my bed)
I can barely remember it
Heart shattered in a thousand ways
They tell me pain gonna come in waves
They tell me I’m gonna be okay
I’m still waitin’ for the first to break

Why would You give and then take him away?
Suddenly end, could You not let it fade?
What I would give for a couple of days
A couple of days

Is it just across the Jordan?
Or a city in the stars?
Are you singin’ with the angels?
Are you happy where you are?
Well, until this show is over
And you run into my arms
God has you in Heaven
But I have you in my heart
I have you in my heart.”

(Watch the music video here.)

Psalm 34:18 says, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
