Chinese Communists evicted church members from homes

Last Friday, members of China’s Early Rain Covenant Church received eviction notices from their landlords.

The house church has faced significant persecution from the Chinese government for years.

One of the landlords denied the government was behind the evictions, but the Christians suspect otherwise.

Gina Goh with International Christian Concern said, “The government’s goal is to see all house churches go extinct so they can fully control Christianity in China.”

Jesus said in Matthew 19:29, “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.”

Russia annexed 15% of Eastern Ukraine

Russia formally annexed over 15% of eastern Ukraine yesterday.

It’s the biggest growth in Russian territory in 50 years.

The annexation incorporates the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops have been making advances in the annexed regions as Russian troops have withdrawn from parts of eastern and southern Ukraine.

After 100 attacks on pro-life groups, still no arrests

Since the U.S. Supreme Court’s initial draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was made public, nearly 100 churches and pro-life organizations have faced vandalism attacks.

Jane’s Revenge, a pro-abortion terrorist group, has taken responsibility for nearly 20 attacks.

However, the FBI has managed to not make a single arrest so far.

Supreme Court sends gun control law back

Speaking of the U.S. Supreme Court, it began its new term this week, allowing the public into the courtroom for the first time since March of 2020.

On Monday, the high court vacated a lower court ruling on a Massachusetts gun control law.

The law put heavy restrictions on purchasing and owning handguns. A lower court originally found the law constitutional. Now, the Supreme Court is sending the case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

California Governor signs “transgender sanctuary state” bill

Last Thursday, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill to make California a sanctuary state for children seeking transgender procedures even without parental permission.

Alliance Defending Freedom warns the law “would undermine parental rights, pit children against their parents, and could even encourage abduction of children to California under the false pretense of seeking gender transition procedures.”

Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church in California called on Newsom to repent last week in an open letter. On Sunday, MacArthur encouraged his congregation to pray for leaders they oppose.

MACARTHUR: “Last Sunday, at the conclusion of the service, I invited you to pray for the governor of California, Gavin Newsom. And I did that purposely because obviously we would love to see him come to Christ. And this week, I think probably all of you know, that we wrote him a letter, an open letter, since he is very open about advocating the things that dishonor God. We are also open about calling him to faith and repentance.”

Psalm 119:46 says, “I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.”

Poll: 54% support Supreme Court decision to let public school coach pray

And finally, the Associated Press and National Opinion Research Center for Public Affairs released a poll on what Americans think about religion in sports.

A majority of adults (54%) support the Supreme Court’s decision to allow a public high school football coach to pray on the field. A majority also support students and teachers praying in the classroom.

Overall, 30% of Americans think there is too much religious influence on public school education or sports; 31% think there is not too much or too little religious influence; and 36% think there is too little religious influence.
