Former Chinese student protestors in Tiananmen Square accepted Christ

This week marks 30 years since the infamous Tiananmen Square massacre. On June 4, 1989, Chinese military tanks rolled into Beijing’s Tiananmen Square where tens of thousands of students had been protesting for weeks in support of government reform and democracy.

The iconic picture of the “Tiananmen Square Tank Man” shows an unidentified man who stood alone on June 5, blocking a line of tanks. Hundreds if not thousands were killed by the Chinese military in the protests.

Since then, the Communist regime has refused to acknowledge the massacre and has tried to censure knowledge of the event from the public eye, reports World Magazine.

In God’s providence, many of the protest leaders have become Christians since 1989, including Bob Fu, founder of China Aid which supports persecuted Christians.

In an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal last week, Fu described China’s war on Christianity. Fu estimated there to be 100 million Christians in China with a projected 250 million Christians by 2030. The Communist party only numbers 90 million and ruthlessly persecutes the church. Last year, the government shut down 10,000 Protestant churches and persecuted and threatened one million Christians.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Trump reads FDR’s famous D-Day prayer from 1944

Today also marks 75 years since the Allied D-Day landing on the beaches of Normandy, France to push back the Nazis during World War II.

During his state visit to England yesterday, President Donald Trump commemorated D-Day at Portsmouth with other dignitaries, reading from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s famous D-Day prayer that he read to America on June 6, 1944.

TRUMP: “Almighty God. Our sons, pride of our nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavour. A struggle to preserve our republic, our religion and our civilization and to set free a suffering humanity.”

Vice President Pence sits down with nervous Mexican leaders

Mexican officials set up a talk with Vice President Mike Pence yesterday in an attempt to avoid threatened tariffs by President Trump last week.

Trump announced a 5 percent tariff on all imports from Mexico effective next Monday if the country does not curb illegal immigration. The tariffs could rise to 25 percent later this year.

U.S. House votes for $19 billion of disaster relief

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a $19.1 billion disaster relief bill on Monday after the Senate passed it last month.

The bill designates billions of dollars for communities struck by hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, and wildfires, including millions of dollars for Puerto Rico after the devastations of hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Christians cancel pro-abortion Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus

The entertainment industry is pushing for abortion as Disney, Netflix, and others have said they may no longer produce films in places like Georgia over its recent heartbeat bill to ban the murder of unborn babies with detectable heartbeats.

In response, the National Christian Media Association launched a petition this week at REDpetition.com, calling for Christians to cancel their subscriptions to services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus.

As of yesterday, promised cancellations will cost the liberal companies $200,000.

Psalm 35:8 says, “Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly, and let his net that he has hidden catch himself; into that very destruction let him fall.”

Pro-life leader: Scales are tipping in favor of the unborn

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser addressed hundreds of people on Monday at the annual Campaign for Life Gala.

Dannenfelser said the “scales [are] finally tipping” in favor of the unborn as states are passing an unprecedented number of anti-abortion laws and dozens of conservative federal judges are being appointed.

Several states in the South and Midwest have passed laws banning nearly all abortions or banning them after six weeks of pregnancy. And the Trump administration has appointed about one in five of the federal court of appeals judges over the last two and a half years.

Evangelical giving is up by 6 percent

Evangelical churches and ministries received $13.3 billion in cash donations in 2017, nearly a 6 percent increase over the previous year, according to the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

Such an increase in giving has not been seen since 2014 and is nearly double the 3.5 percent average increase between 2007–2017.

Hebrews 13:16 says, “Do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

Montana listener and son listen to newscast in car

Dr. Justin Anderson of Bozeman, Montana, wrote me at adam@TheWorldview.com and said, “We have 5 children, ages 6 months to 12 years old whom we homeschool. I personally have been listening to you and Generation Radio for about 3-4 years.  I was first exposed to Kevin Swanson through a Family Economics Conference in Denver about 10 years ago.

“I listen to this program every day and often with my 12-year-old son as he rides with me to the office since his home-school science class that he attends is nearby.  He always makes sure that on the way to work we turn on the NEWS known as “The Worldview in 5 Minutes“!

“It is such a blessing to receive world news from a Biblical perspective.  It is always such a good reminder to pray for other Christians who are in need. Thank you for the call to donate to this program.”

4 listeners gave $1,115 toward $50,000 goal by June 28

As I shared yesterday, we are $50,000 in the red right now.

We are looking for 208 listeners to invest a monthly pledge of $20 or a one-time gift of $240.  Yesterday, 4 people took a stand. We are grateful to God for Elijah in Goodyear, Arizona for his gift of $25, to Richard in Sylvania, Georgia for his gift of $100, to Casey from Knoxville, Tennessee for his gift of $240, to David in Fruitport, Michigan for his gift of $250 and to Justin in Bozemont, Montana for his gift of $500. Our total? Drum roll please.  (drum roll audio) Toward our $50,000 goal, listeners have pledged $1,115. (cheers)

Can you make a pledge right now as you listen to the newscast? Go to TheWorldview.com, click on “Give” in the top right corner, and consider a one-time gift of $240 or a monthly pledge of $20. I’d love to see 2 donors pledging $480.
