Muslim mob destroyed church in Indonesia

The Pentecostal Missionary Church in Kabil Village, Indonesia, was recently destroyed by a radical Muslim mob that was protesting its construction in a majority-Muslim area, reports an Indonesian news website.

Pastor Jacksean Napitupulu estimated that a mob of about 30 people caused considerable damage to the newly constructed building.

He said, “The church building, which was still only halfway finished, is now destroyed. The walls of the building have holes and the windows and doors are broken.”

Trump’s Georgia mug shot released

Yesterday, former President Donald Trump surrendered on charges that he illegally schemed to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia that yielded an historic first: a mug shot of a U.S. ex-president, reports the Associated Press.

A booking photo, released by authorities, revealed Trump, wearing a navy suit and red tie, angrily scowling at the camera, his brows furrowed as he stared into the lens.

After he was released on a $200,000 bond, he made a statement before he boarded his plane to fly to New Jersey last night.

TRUMP: “You should be able to challenge an election. I thought the election was a rigged election, a stolen election. And I should have every right to do that. As you know, you have many people that you’ve been watching over the years do the same thing, whether it’s Hillary Clinton or Stacey Abrams. What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. I did nothing wrong and everybody knows it.”

Biden’s food stamp expansion linked to 15% jump in grocery prices

A push by the Biden administration to increase food stamp benefits, to the tune of $1 trillion, could be responsible for a 15% rise in prices at the grocery store, according to a government watchdog report, reports The New York Post.

The Department of Agriculture rolled out revised nutritional standards for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, in 2021, that expanded the program by 27%, on average, from pre-COVID pandemic levels, noted the Foundation for Government Accountability.

Drudge Poll: Ramaswamy, a Hindu, won the GOP debate

According to a Drudge Report poll, comprised of readers voting online instead of a random sampling, 38-year-old entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who has never held elective office, won the Wednesday night GOP presidential debate with 34%, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley came in second with 23%, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was third with 18%.

Ramaswamy introduced himself to the nation.

RAMASWAMY: “So first, let me just address a question that is on everybody’s mind at home tonight. Who the heck is this skinny guy with a funny last name? And what the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage? I’ll tell you. I’m not a politician. Brett, you’re right about that.

“I’m an entrepreneur. My parents came to this country with no money forty years ago. I have gone on to found multibillion dollar companies. I did it while marrying my wife, Apoorva, raising our two sons, following our faith in God. That is the American Dream. And I am genuinely worried that that American Dream will not exist for our two sons, and their generation, unless we do something about it.

“And I do think, Brett, it’s going to take an outsider. Because for a long time, we have professional politicians in the Republican Party who have been running from something. Now is our moment to start running to something, to our vision of what it means to be an American today. If you have a broken car, you don’t turn over the keys to the people who broke it again, you hand it over to a new generation to actually fix the problem. That’s why I’m in this race and we’re just getting warmed up.”

Interestingly, Ramaswamy, a practicing Hindu, claimed in that bio overview that he has faith in God, seemingly with a capital “G.” But, truth be told, Hinduism is a polytheistic religion. Hindus believe in many gods. It is not a monotheistic religion, like Judaism or Christianity, whose adherents worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Bible-believing Christians maintain that Hindus actually worship demons. Indeed, it is not surprising for demons to masquerade as other beings. After all, 2 Corinthians 11:14 reveals that “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”

In a revealing August 4th townhall meeting podcast with Patrick Bet-David, Ramaswamy addressed his religious differences with Christians.

RAMASWAMY: “I’m not Christian, and I will never pretend to be something I’m not. I’m always going to speak the truth about who I am and what I stand for. In our [Hindu] tradition, we say Jesus Christ is a son of God. I understand that’s different than saying He’s the Son of God. Now, I’m not running to be Pastor-in-Chief. I’m running to be Commander-In-Chief.”

However, despite his Hindu convictions, Ramaswamy referenced God, with a capital “G,” for a second time in Wednesday night’s GOP debate.

RAMASWAMY: “I was born in 1985, and I grew up into a generation where we were taught to celebrate our diversity and our differences so much that we forgot all of the ways that we are really just the same as Americans — bound by a common set of ideals that set this nation into motion in 1776. And this is our moment to revive those common ideals.

“God is real. There are two genders. Fossil fuels are a requirement for human prosperity. Reverse racism is racism. An open border is not a border. Parents determine the education of their children. The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to man. Capitalism lifts us up from poverty. There are three branches of government, not four. And the U.S. Constitution, it is the strongest guarantor of freedom in human history. That is what won us the American Revolution. That is what will win us the revolution of 2024.”

Pray that Vivek Ramaswamy, who shares many conservative ideals with Christians, would repent of his sins, and place his faith in the person of Jesus Christ as his Savior.

In John 14:6, Jesus declared, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

South Carolina Supreme Court upholds Heartbeat Law

On Wednesday, the South Carolina Supreme Court upheld the state’s Heartbeat Law.

Back in May, Republican Governor Henry McMaster signed the bill. It bans the killing of unborn babies with detectable heartbeats but includes some exceptions.

A state judge had placed an injunction on the legislation. But with the high court’s ruling, the law is now fully enforceable.

India lands spacecraft on moon’s south pole

And finally, India made headlines Wednesday in otherworldly news.

The country landed a spacecraft near the moon’s south pole. India is the first country to do this and the fourth to land a craft on the moon after the United States, China, and Russia.

The accomplishment comes after Russia crashed a probe into the moon just last week, reports CBS News. The country was also trying to land a craft near the lunar south pole.
