Nigerian Christians pray in the midst of Muslim attacks

Last week, thousands of Christians gathered to pray in Jos, Nigeria in response to many attacks from Muslim militants in the country.

The Plateau State governor, his deputy, and the speaker of the State Legislature attended the Solemn Assembly.

Fulani Muslim militants have killed tens of thousands of Christians in Nigeria over the past 20 years and displaced many more. Just this past Sunday, gunmen killed at least 50 people at a church in Southwestern Nigeria.

Nigeria is the 7th worst nation in the world for the persecution of Christians.

The declining British church

Mathematician Dr. John Hayward   released a report called the “Growth, Decline and Extinction of U.K. Churches.”

Hayward told Christian Today the church in the United Kingdom stopped growing relative to the population back in the 1870s and stopped growing altogether by the 20th Century. The report estimates the Church of England could face extinction in about 40 years.

Nearly all the U.K. denominations started before 1900 are declining, while all the denominations started since then are growing. The report also found liberal churches were the most likely to be in decline, while Evangelical churches were the most likely to be growing.

Romans 11:4-5 asks, “But what does the divine response say to him? ‘I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.’ Even so then, at this present time, there is a remnant according to the election of grace.”

Louisiana bans men, pretending to be women, in women’s sports

Louisiana is now the 18th state in the U.S. to ban men, pretending to be women, from women’s sports.

The Fairness in Women’s Sports Act became law this week after Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards refused to sign or veto the measure. Edwards opposed the bill as an attack on people pretending to be the opposite sex.

The law noted the inherent and biological differences between men and women.

Gunman wanted to kill Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh at home

Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Simi Valley, California yesterday near the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Nicholas John Roske had said he wanted to kill the justice over the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade, reports The New York Post.

According to an affidavit filed Wednesday in federal court, “Roske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice,” adding that he allegedly planned to break into the justice’s home to kill him as well as himself.

Pro-abortion terrorists firebomb Buffalo, NY pregnancy center

Meanwhile, a pregnancy center in Buffalo, New York was firebombed this week. It’s the third attack of its kind in recent weeks on pro-life centers. Pro-abortion terrorists are suspected in the attacks.

Wisdom says in Proverbs 8:36, “But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all those who hate me love death.”

Problem of affordable housing

Housing affordability fell to a new low this year.

The National Association of Realtors Home Affordability Index fell by 29% in 2022, the sharpest decline on record.

Meanwhile, a study by the housing market research firm, Black Knight, found the monthly payment on an average-priced home with a 20% down payment has increased 44% or $600 this year.

Implantation of 3D-printed human ear

3DBio Therapeutics announced last week they successfully implanted a 3D-printed human ear into a patient for the first time.

Alexa was born with a congenital disorder causing her to have a small and misshapen right ear. Using her own cells, the scientists printed tissue to match her left ear.

Around 1,500 babies are born in the U.S. each year with deformed or missing ears. The implant technology could mark a big change in treating the disorder.

Worldview listeners in New York and South Dakota say hello

And finally, I continue to get emails at Adam@TheWorldview.com from around the globe and across America about why listeners enjoy The Worldview newscast.

Linda Dixon in Greene County, New York wrote, “I’ve been listening recently to The Worldview in 5 Minutes on Redeemer Broadcasting [where it airs at 7:00am and 6:00pm.] I appreciate its Christian worldview. It’s actually prompted me to contact my legislators, companies with offensive and inappropriate policies, and to send notes of encouragement! As upsetting as some of the reporting is, it also is a call to prayer. And fortunately, with some of your encouraging news, a call to praise! I recommend my station and you to those believers in my circle of influence.”

And Sarah Ramirez in Whitewood, South Dakota wrote, “I enjoy reading The Worldview while my babies are sleeping because it’s overtly Christian, with Scriptural responses to news.  And it’s short enough. I don’t read any other news because they’re too long, repetitive, and depressing. Thank you for what you do!”

Now Sarah, when those babies wake up, you need to play the portion of the newscast where I read your email.

Just go to TheWorldview.com, click on Give, select the dollar amount, and then click on the recurring tab button.

Thank you for prayerfully helping to provide the funding to keep this newscast on the air!
