Iraqi Christians Come Home
After more than two years of fleeing ISIS, 7,000 displaced Iraqi Christians are looking forward to returning home. The World View spoke to Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs about what’s happening on the ground in Iraq.
“Some of the Iraqi Christians will return home, but others won’t return home because they have already set down roots elsewhere. The road to restoration will be a LONG one, so don’t think that this is the end. This is actually just the beginning for them.’
Nigerian Christians Slaughtered
200 Fulani herdsmen and Muslim militants have torched four more villages in Nigeria and murdered more than 35 Christians, including women and children, reports Christian Today. Some of the murdered children were barely more than babies, aged under two. Bodies were burned so badly they were unrecognizable. International Christian Concern explained that Kaduna, Nigeria has become a killing field, where genocide is taking place unabated.
Between January 2013 and May 2016, 826 Christians have been killed, 878 injured, and 102 churches destroyed or damaged. Baroness Cox, who narrowly escaped a Muslim ambush, said “When one part of the body of Christ suffers, we all suffer. … I think we should all try to be worthy of the faith that the Nigerian Christians are living and dying for.”
Colossians 1:10 says, “Live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.”
Donald Trump Meets with Mitt Romney
In a move that surprised many, President-elect Donald Trump met Saturday with Mitt Romney at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey to purportedly discuss the possibility of Romney becoming secretary of state at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Romney had led the NeverTrump movement, calling him a “fake, fraud, con man and phony” back in March. In turn, Trump called Romney, the failed 2012 GOP presidential nominee, a “disaster, a disappointment, and a loser who choked like a dog.”
After a 90-minute meeting with Trump, Romney made a short statement.
“We had a far-reaching conversation with regards to the various theaters of the world of interest to the United States, of real significance. We discussed those areas and exchanged our views on those topics — a very thorough and in-depth discussion in the time we had. And I appreciate the chance to speak with the president-elect.”
Donald Trump Pays 25 Million in Lawsuit
In a surprising reversal, Donald Trump agreed on Friday to pay $25 million to settle fraud lawsuits over his Trump University real estate seminars, reports Reuters.
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said it was a major victory for the over 6,000 victims of his fraudulent university, who claimed they were lured by false promises into paying up to $35,000 each to learn Trump’s real estate investing “secrets” from his “hand-picked” instructors.
Athiest Group Denies the Right to Pray
The Freedom from Religion Foundation is at it again! This time the atheist group is forcing a football coach in Scranton, Pennsylvania to end his 30-year tradition of praying with his team before each game. Coach Jack Henzes revealed his prayer to CBN News, “We pray to the good Lord hoping none of our players, or the other players, are hurt because we know how hard they work.”
Chris Murray, a junior at Dunmore High School, told WBRE-TV, that he hopes to keep the prayer tradition alive and well.
Christian Blogger Takes Up Lesbian Lifestyle
A well-known Christian mom blogger has made news in the major media since she separated from her husband and took up a lesbian lifestyle. Glennon Doyle Melton dropped the bombshell on her 600,000 + Facebook followers recently. . . A major leader among Christian women, Melton is also known for her abortion, her addictions, and mental illness.
“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.” (Romans 1:26).
New President Supports Defunding Planned Parenthood
Last week, LifeNews reports that House Speaker Paul Ryan pledged that the pro-life majority in Congress is committed to passing another bill to de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business since it was caught in a series of 10 videos selling aborted babies and their body parts. The difference this time is that the new president Donald Trump has indicated he would like to see the organization de-funded.
Abortionist Bashes Congresswoman Who Asked About Handling of Fetal Tissue
A late-term abortionist in Colorado has verbally attacked pro-life Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn for daring to investigate the seedy underbelly of his abortion business and the possible sale of aborted babies, reports the Longmont Times-Call. Abortionist Warren Hern called the Congresswoman, who chairs the Select Panel on Infant Lives, a “shameless coward” after she asked how the Boulder Abortion Clinic handled fetal tissue as well as what their procedures were for treating babies if they were born alive after a botched abortion.
Hern refuses to comply with her request, labeling it outrageous. Hern charges most late-term abortion patients $25,000 cash up front. He has until today to provide the answers she needs which were prompted by patient complaints of botched abortions.
“Woe to them who call evil good, and good evil.” (Isaiah 5:20).
Terrorist Throws Molotov Cocktail into Indonesian Church
A former convicted terrorist linked to the Islamic State group threw a molotov cocktail inside an Indonesian church where children were playing on Sunday, killing a toddler and injuring three other infants, The Jakarta Post reported. A 4-year-old girl named Trinity Hutahaean suffered severe burns. Remarkably, the Christian parents have forgiven the accused, and have said they will not even ask God to punish him.
The girl’s father said, “God teaches us to forgive and not to pay revenge. I have a big hope that my family members, especially Trinity’s mother, can face this hard time. She is still in trauma after seeing what happened to her child.”
The bombing came in response to a call for ISIS sympathizers to launch sporadic attacks across the world as the terror group faced defeat in Mosul, Iraq. 1,000 Indonesian churches have been closed over the last decade due to pressure from such Muslim groups.

Woman Who Gave Daughter for Adoption in 1954 Finally Meets Her Again
Goldie Waltman, an 85-year-old woman from Pennsylvania who gave her daughter, Patricia, up for adoption back in 1954, was finally able to meet her after all these years. Fox 8 Cleveland reports that Waltman was single and unemployed at the time, and made the hard decision to give her daughter up so that she might have a better life. After she revealed to her five subsequent children that they had an older sister, they finally tracked her down in Alabama, making a reunion possible.
The 85-year-old woman on oxygen said through tears, “I finally got to see her. The Lord’s been good. I didn’t think this would ever happen.”
And that’s the World View in Five Minutes.
