Hostility to Christian employees in U.S. and U.K.
A new study by Pearn Kandola found Christians from the U.S. and U.K. report experiencing hostility, ridicule, and antagonism over their faith in the workplace.
Of those who wore religious dress or symbols to work, 45% said they felt uncomfortable doing so. Thirty-seven percent of respondents said they were comfortable discussing religious celebrations at work. The number rose to 51% for U.K. workers but dropped to 22% for U.S. workers.
Participants reported seeing or experiencing antagonism for their faith in the workplace which even went unchecked by management.
British Christians don’t prioritize evangelism
Operation Mobilisation reports less than half of Britons who identify as Christian believe evangelism is important.
Seventy-one percent of self-identified Christians in the U.K. said they had no knowledge of the Great Commission.
People between the ages of 18 and 44 were actually more likely to know about the Great Commission than those over 45. Younger people were also more likely to have been to church in the last year.
Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 28:19 to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Texas Attorney General vs. Biden over Christian adoptions
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit on Monday against the Biden administration to keep the state working with faith-based adoption agencies.
Paxton is seeking to end an Obama-era rule that barred federal funding to adoption agencies that refuse to place children in the homes of people living sexually perverted lifestyles.
The Republican Attorney General said, “It’s a disgrace that the Biden Administration is playing politics with our foster care and adoption services, and this lawsuit aims to put our children first and to protect religious freedom.”
Kentucky’s pro-life trigger law saving hundreds of babies
Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services reported no abortions in August and September and two abortions in October. That’s down from the hundreds of reported abortions each month before August.
The drop in the murder of unborn babies comes after Kentucky’s anti-abortion trigger law went into effect. The law banned most abortions after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is defending the law and other abortion bans against pro-abortion lawsuits.
American agnostics and atheists have plateaued
Gallup reports the growth of religious “nones” – N-O-N-E-S — in America is slowing down.
Those who say they have no religion grew from 0% of the population in 1950 to about 20% today.
However, that 20% has plateaued for the last six years. The last time the growth of the religious “nones” plateaued was in the 1980s and 90s.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes passed out 200,000 Bibles
Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been working for 68 years to disciple coaches and sports players and to distribute Bibles.
This year, the ministry passed out nearly 200,000 Bibles to student athletes. This brings the number of Bibles distributed to three million over the last 15 years.
FCA President Shane Williamson said, “We are committed to God’s Word and biblical truth, and we continue to be amazed at what God is doing to get His Word into the hands of coaches and athletes around the world.”
FCA’s theme for 2022 was “every,” from Ephesians 1:3, which says, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
Couple, married 79 years, died within hours of each other
And finally, an Ohio Christian couple died earlier this month after 100 years of life and 79 years of marriage.
Hubert and June Malicote went to be with the Lord hours apart from each other.
The two were born in 1922, met in church, and married in 1943. After Hubert was stationed in Hawaii during World War II, he and June built a family. They had three children, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
The couple’s daughter, Jo Malicote, told WLWT about their last hours together.
REPORTER: “He held his wife’s hand on his deathbed. Jo says the family comforted their mother in her final hours.”
MALICOTE: “We sang to her, we read scriptures to her, and we gave her permission to go on to be with Daddy.”
