The Horror in Nigeria
For Fadi Ali, these last three years have been a terrifying game of cat and mouse with Boko Haram jihadists in northeast Nigeria, Africa, reports Brinkwire.
The 35-year-old mother said, “They slaughtered my husband, my grandmother and two of my children.”
Ali finally came across an army convoy and was taken to Pulka, a camp in the country’s remote northeast region.
Many people are still trapped in the Mandara Mountains where they survive on roots and leaves, living in fear of the Muslim jihadists who have established bases in the caves outside of the military’s reach.
Mass shooting in Jacksonville, Florida
At least four people were reported dead and eleven injured in a “mass shooting” yesterday afternoon at a pizza restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida where a sports video game tournament was taking place. Just before the shots were heard, a red laser dot appeared on the chest of one of the players, who was wearing white headphones and a red sweatshirt, reports The Telegraph.
Police said one suspect was dead at the scene.
John McCain died
Senator John McCain, who shed a playboy image in his youth to become a fighter pilot, revered prisoner of war and both a liberal voice in the Republican Party and its 2008 presidential nominee, died on Saturday, little more than a year after he was told he had brain cancer, reports NBC News. He was 81.
Senator McCain will not only lie in state at the U.S. Capitol rotunda, but will also lie in state at the Arizona Capitol before his burial in Annapolis, Maryland.
Tropical Storm Lane Attacks Hawaii
Tropical Storm Lane has the potential to be the single-costliest hurricane in recorded history of Hawaii and may end up causing the most expensive hurricane damage in all of the United States for the 2018 hurricane season, reports AccuWeather.
Lane has already unloaded more than 40 inches of rain across parts of the Big Island, leading to catastrophic flooding and debris flows. A hurricane-force wind gust of 74 mph was recorded last Thursday.
Lane could potentially cause in excess of $10 billion in damage due to its forecast impacts as well as the increase in population, property, property value and infrastructure on the Hawaiian Islands since then.
Dan Rather: Trump Is “Unindicted Co-Conspirator in a Criminal Case”
In the wake of President Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and the president’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, being found guilty of criminal offenses, listen to former CBS News anchor Dan Rather talk with CNN’s Don Lemon about what it all means.
Dan Rather: “If you think yesterday was a shock to our Democratic system, just stay tuned because the other things Mueller is working on – and sooner or later we will find out what they are – is going to make yesterday pale by comparison.”
Don Lemon: “You think so?”
Dan Rather: “I think the evidence abounds.”
Don Lemon: “Yesterday, the President’s fixer and attorney implicated the President in a crime.”
Dan Rather: “The President, in effect, became an unindicted co-conspirator in a criminal case. You have a conspiracy to defraud the American voters, a criminal conspiracy, to win the election campaign.
“Give that jury credit to Manafort case and give the federal prosecutors in the case, you know, the federal prosecutors with a hostile judge presented a case that got convictions. The jury did their job. They started, they deliberated and came back with guilty verdicts. President John Adams once said that our jury system is both the lungs and the heart of our Democratic system. We have a reminder that is in the Manafort trial.”
Rather pointed to Watergate as a possible template for what might happen to President Trump.
Senator Rand Paul Tries to Defund Planned Parenthood … Again!
Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky tried to defund Planned Parenthood again, this time through an amendment to the appropriations bill funding the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services, reports the Washington Post Examiner.
Senator Paul said, “One of the top priorities for a Republican Congress that professes pro-life values on the campaign trail should be to stop taxpayer funding for abortion providers. This is our chance to turn our words into action, stand up for the sanctity of life, and speak out for the most innocent among us that have no voice.”
Sadly, by a vote of 45 to 48, his amendment was rejected. It would have barred Planned Parenthood and other abortion outlets from receiving federal funding.
Planned Parenthood received more than $543 million in fiscal year 2016-2017.
Proverbs 6:17 lists seven things that God hates including “hands that shed innocent blood.”
Pro-Life Group: Call Your Senator NOW About Judge Brett Kavanaugh
Pro-abortion politicians Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer along with the National Abortion Rights Action League and Planned Parenthood don’t like Judge Brett Kavanaugh because they know he will apply the actual words of the Constitution, asserts Carol Tobias of the National Right to Life Committee.
Tens of millions of dollars are being spent by pro-abortion, liberal groups to convince senators to vote against Judge Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court. They are encouraging office visits and phone calls by constituents to urge a “no” vote.
Tobias writes, “Your senators may be liberal Democrats and you are sure they will vote against the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh—they still need to hear from you. Some face a very close election this fall and need to know that they oppose Kavanaugh at their own peril. The senators need to know their constituents support Kavanaugh.
“Your senators may be conservative Republicans and you are sure they will vote for him—they still need to hear from you. They need that reinforcement and support.
“Call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your senator’s office. Tell him/her to SUPPORT JUDGE KAVANAUGH.”
10-Year-Old in Trouble for Calling Teacher “Ma’am”
And finally, Tamarion Wilson, a 10-year-old student from North East Carolina Preparatory School, was punished recently for referring to his fifth-grade teacher as “ma’am,” reports WTVD-TV.
Tamarion’s mother, Teretha, said she first noticed something wrong with her son when he got off the bus Tuesday. When she asked why he was upset, the young student told her he got in trouble for using the respectful title.
Confused by her son’s explanation, Tamarion then pulled out a sheet of lined paper, on which his teacher made him write the word “ma’am” four times on each line — front and back.
Tamarion’s father, McArthur Bryant, said his son had a “look of disappointment, shame” when he first saw him, noting he raised his son to use terms like “ma’am” and “sir” when referring to adults.
Wilson’s parents met with the teacher and the school’s principal to discuss the matter and brought with them a paper that their son had prepared which cited the definitions of the term “ma’am”.
- A term of respectful or polite address used for a woman
- A term of address for female royalty
After the meeting, the school agreed to move Tamarion to a different classroom where, no doubt, his new teacher will not feel disrespected when treated with respect.
Philippians 2:3 says, “In humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Pakistan Government Persecuting Christians
Christians in Pakistan are facing torture, police abuse and death for their faith. That’s why international leaders are being called to confront the Pakistani government for turning a blind eye to the violent persecution, reports OneNewsNow.com.
American Center for Law and Justice Senior Counsel Matthew Clark contended that in some cases, it is the government itself that is doing leading the persecution.
One example of such persecution involves, Asia Bibi – the Christian mother who has been in prison now for more than nine years because of her faith.
Clark went on to discuss the problem of mob persecution in Pakistan, saying, “[Mob persecution takes place] where Christians are attacked by essentially radical, Islamic, angry mobs. Burned [and] beaten – half of the village is forced to flee because the other half of the village goes after the Christians.”
Former Lesbian from Uganda: It Was a Sinful Lifestyle
Val Kalende, a prominent lesbian activist from Uganda, has renounced her homosexuality and is now calling the lifestyle sinful, reports FaithWire.
Kalende was granted asylum in Canada in 2015 after her country passed its Anti-Homosexuality Act in 2014.
In 2012 and 2014, Kalende authored columns for The Huffington Post, arguing against the country’s anti-homosexual legislation. In one of the columns, she even wrote, “The church in Africa has become a safety net for homophobia mainly because it is safer to bash gays with the Bible than it is to bash gays with politics.”
Today, Kalende, the former lesbian, is soon to be married to the man of her dreams, according to The Christian Post.
Young Judge Brett Kavanaugh: Clinton Should Be Impeached
When Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh was a 33-year-old fast-rising Republican legal star, he wrote a 132-page memo to his boss, independent counsel Kenneth Starr, that outlined the grounds for impeaching President Bill Clinton, report The Los Angeles Times.
In the 1998 memo, Kavanaugh said that Clinton deserved to be forced from office for “his pattern of revolting behavior” and the “sheer number of his wrongful acts”, writing, “The president has disgraced his office.… He has lied to his aides. He has lied to the American people. I’m strongly opposed to giving [him] any ‘break’ … unless he either resigns or … issues a public apology.”
Obama’s Teen “Pregnancy Prevention” Programs Encourage Sex
Earlier this month, the Department of Health and Human Services announced it would reverse course and continue funding grants for groups participating in the Obama administration’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, reports Life News.
During the summer of 2017, the Trump administration faced criticism when it announced it would terminate these grants and redirect the funds to teen-pregnancy programs emphasizing abstinence.
In 2017, the Office of Adolescent Health published two reports evaluating the results of the Obama grants, analyzing grantees from 2010 to 2014. Of the 38 programs studied, only three reported long-term reductions in the incidence of unprotected sex, and only one program reported a long-term reduction in overall rates of teen sexual activity.
Trump CEO Given Immunity, Implicated President
President Trump’s financial gatekeeper was granted immunity by federal authorities in New York and testified before a grand jury, the third longtime confidant of Mr. Trump known to have provided information in an illegal hush-money investigation that has implicated the president.
Allen Weisselberg, who has served for decades as chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, testified several weeks ago in the criminal investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan into Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Weisselberg was one of the executives who helped reimburse Cohen through the Trump Organization and the president’s personal trust for a $130,000 payment that Cohen made before the 2016 election to Stephanie Clifford, a former porn actress known as Stormy Daniels, for staying silent over her allegation of a past sexual encounter with Trump, which the President has denied.
Dr. Dobson: State of Colorado Hostile to Christians
Dr. James Dobson, host of FamilyTalk https://drjamesdobson.org/ and founder of Focus on the Family, asserts the state of Colorado is running a “biased” Civil Rights Commission that exhibit’s hostility to “people of faith” in light of the state’s newest attack on Masterpiece Cakeshop owner Jack Phillips, reports WorldNetDaily.com.
This time the Colorado Commission is badgering Phillips because he refused to bake celebrating a cake celebrating a man who presents himself as a woman despite his God-given biological destiny.
Dr. Dobson said, “This is simply a continued attack on the First Amendment and religious freedom. … Even though the 7-2 majority of the U.S. Supreme Court specifically held that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission is forbidden from displaying overt hostility and animus against a person for their faith, today that same Civil Rights Commission allowed a claim of discrimination to move forward again against Jack Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop.”
