Halloween vs. Reformation Day
As our culture is focused on candy and things that go bump in the night, five hundred and one years ago today, Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the Wittenberg Chapel door in Germany, lighting a reformation fire that would impact the whole world. 900 million Protestants, making up about 40% of the population of persons who call themselves Christian, are celebrating Reformation Day.
Praise God for the advancement of His kingdom by His mighty revivals and reformations!
The Bible rejects the Catholic notion that we should pray to the so-called “saints” or that the office of pope is legitimate. 1 John 5:21 says, “Little children, guard yourselves from idols.”
Pray for Pakistani Christian Asylum Seekers in Thailand
An estimated 2,500 Pakistani Christian asylum seekers in Thailand are on pins and needles following a decision by the Thai government to start deporting individuals back to Pakistan, reports International Christian Concern.
Thai authorities view the Pakistanis as illegal immigrants.
Islamic Terrorist Group Demands $270,000 for Christian Teen Leah Shairbu
The Islamist militant group Boko Haram is demanding $270,000 for the release of Nigerian, African Christian teenager Leah Sharibu, who has been held captive by the brutal terror group since February this year, when 112 female students were abducted, reports FaithWire.com.
According to The Herald, The Nigerian Federal Reserve is concerned about two things. First, the precedent it would be setting if it bows to the financial demands made by these merciless terrorists. Second, Boko Haram “would use the money to acquire upgraded weapon systems to be unleashed on Nigerians in the future.”
President Trump: Time to End Birthright Citizenship by Executive Order
President Donald Trump has promised to send 5,200 American troops to the southern border to stop an invasion of 4,000 Central American migrants and is now discussing an end to birthright citizenship, reports the Associated Press.
TRUMP: “It was always told to me that you needed a Constitutional amendment. Number one, you don’t need that. You can definitely do it with an act of Congress. But now they’re saying I can do it just with an Executive Order.
“Now, how ridiculous. We’re the only country in the world where a person comes in, has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years — with all of those benefits. It’s ridiculous and it has to end.”
House Speaker Paul Ryan, typically a supporter of Trump’s proposals, said on WVLK radio in Kentucky: “Well you obviously cannot do that. You cannot end birthright citizenship with an executive order.”
But Trump insists that his legal counsel assures him that it can be done, dubbing birthright citizenship a “magnet for illegal immigration.”
Notre Dame Male Students to School: Filter Out the Porn!
A group of male students from Notre Dame, a Catholic university, has requested that the university imposes a college-wide internet filter on pornography.
In an open letter published at The Observer, the group described pornography as “utterly corrosive and insatiably addictive” as well as “morally reprehensible and relationally devastating.”

Alabama Father Took Down Masked Gunman in McDonald’s Shootout
And finally, an Alabama dad is being hailed a hero after he took down a masked gunman who opened fired in a McDonald’s restaurant in Birmingham over the weekend, according to WBRC.
The unidentified man was leaving the restaurant with his sons Saturday when the suspect entered and began shooting. Instead of fleeing, the father pulled out his own pistol and returned fire, ultimately preventing the shooter from carrying out his deadly plans. The suspect later died of his injuries.
Though the father and one of his teenage sons were struck by the attacker’s bullets, countless lives were likely saved as the result of his quick and fearless actions. The two are expected to fully recover from their wounds.
One of the McDonald’s employees, Markus Washington, said, “He’s my hero. Because I can only imagine how it would’ve went if he wasn’t armed. We might not be here having this interview.”

Pakistani Supreme Court to Determine Fate of Asia Bibi Today
The Pakistani Supreme Court will issue its decision on the appeal of Christian mom Asia Bibi’s conviction and death sentence for blasphemy today, reports the American Center for Law and Justice.
The court will determine if this Christian mom of five is set free or hanged for her Christian faith.
Asia Bibi was arrested in 2009 and convicted in 2010 under section 295-C of Pakistan’s penal code that punishes blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad with the death penalty. Asia was accused of speaking disparagingly about the Prophet, but her real crime was that she offered water to Muslim co-workers who believed Asia had made the water ceremonially unclean by drinking from the same cup.
27 Peruvian Children Give Their Lives to Christ
Twenty-seven impoverished children from single-parent families and broken homes gave their lives to Jesus at a Bible camp in Peru’s capital city, Lima, hosted by UK-based ministry Siloam Christian Ministries, reports Christian Today.
Aptly, the camp’s theme was “Our Eternal Father,” with students being reminded that no matter what their earthly experience, they have a heavenly father who loves them dearly.
Pastor’s Prayer About the Anti-Semitic Attack in Pittsburgh
Last Saturday, President Trump invited a pastor to pray at the Future Farmers of America convention in Indianapolis, Indiana following the news that a man that morning had killed 11 Jews at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Thom O’Leary of Mountainbrook Community Church in San Luis Obispo, California offered a prayer. His son was a candidate for the presidency of Future Farmers of America.
PASTOR O’LEARY: “Father in Heaven, we don’t always understand why crazy things happen in our world. We’re reminded that this Earth we live on will never be as great as Heaven, and never be as horrific as Hell, but we get tastes of Heaven and Hell. It’s in this moment, God, that we ask for your comfort and your love and your grace and your peace to be upon the victims and their families and their friends and this community of faith that we stand up for.
“God, I pray for the police officers and their families that were affected. God, we pray for Your protection of the police officers. We honor them today. God, we pray for protection in America. We pray, God, that Your wisdom and favor would be on our president, President Trump. We celebrate that every heartbeat is a gift. We thank you that You are a God of grace and mercy and love. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
Disturbing Election “Prayer” on Screen Following The Big Bang Theory
Viewers who tuned in for The Big Bang Theory’s October 25 episode were treated to more than the story arc of the week, namely the feuds surrounding couples impersonating each other for Halloween.
Newsbusters.org reports that those who watched until the very last second may have noticed a very political “vanity card” for Chuck Lorre’s Productions that blasted President Trump as “a fascist, hate-filled, fear-mongering, demagogic, truth-shattering, autocratic golf cheater.”
Placed between the finals credits and Warner Bros. logo, the vanity card remained on screen for under three seconds.

My Prayer
“God, (I call you that even though I suspect thou art well beyond names and words and might actually be some sort of ineffable quantum situation), I humbly beseech thee to make thy presence known on November 6th. Demonstrate your omnipotence through us as we make ink marks on little circles in curtained booths. Of course if you, in your divine wisdom, believe a fascist, hate-filled, fear-mongering, demagogic, truth-shattering, autocratic golf cheater is what we need right now, then, you know, thy will be done. But if thou art inclined to more freedom, more love, more compassion, and just more of the good stuff thou hath been promoting in our hearts or our parietal lobes – either one, doesn’t really matter – I submissively ask that thy encourage voter turnout in that general direction. Also God, please help Bob Mueller. Guide him and make him strong, brave, wise and true. And yes, I know there must be thousands of guys named Bob Mueller, so why not help them all, just to be on the safe side. Amen.
