Malaysia bans Christian conversion of Muslims

The northeastern Malaysian state of Kelantan updated its criminal code to ban attempts to convert people out of Islam. The new code also bans distorting Islamic teachings and disrespecting the month of Ramadan.

Violators could face imprisonment for three years, fines of over $1,000, or canings.

The Southeast Asian nation is mostly Muslim, and Christians make up less than 10% of the population. Christians engaged in evangelism become a target for Malaysian officials. Open Doors lists it as the 46th worst nation in the world for Christian persecution.

Some of 16 kidnapped American missionaries still alive

The U.S. government has seen proof that at least some of the 16 American missionaries kidnapped by a gang last month in Haiti are still alive. The group of missionaries includes five children, one of whom is less than a year old. Nearly half of Haiti is under the control of gangs.

Meanwhile, over 400 U.S. citizens are still left in Afghanistan after the U.S. military withdrawal from the country. Nearly 200 of those Americans want to leave while the others want to stay or aren’t ready to depart yet.

Biden wants to limit religious exemptions for federal contractors

The Biden administration has proposed to limit the use of religious exemptions by federal contractors in their hiring decisions.

The Obama administration added sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protected employment classes for federal contractors.

In response, a Trump-era rule protected the faith-based hiring decisions of federal contractors who did not want to hire people living sexually perverted lifestyles. However, the Biden administration is now rolling back that protection.

Biden gives $5 million for abortion devices & abortion-inducing drugs

On November 1, the U.S. State Department announced a $5 million inaugural gift to the United Nations Population Fund. No administration has funded the program before.

Under the guise of promoting sexual and reproductive health, the funds offer women around the world access to contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs, and portable abortion devices.

Tony Perkins: RNC Chairwoman should resign over LHBT promotion

The Republican National Committee announced its first homosexual “Pride Coalition” at an event over the weekend.

The RNC partnered with a group known as the Log Cabin Republicans who support sexually perverted lifestyles.

Yesterday, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins went on the Todd Starnes Radio Show to take issue with the failure of the Republican Party leadership.

PERKINS: “The leadership of the RNC, I think, is moving the party in a direction that is incompatible with religious freedom and many of the things that we see parents fighting for across the country. We’ve affiliated with a party that is very clear about religious freedom. It’s very clear about marriage, human sexuality. There are those now that want to change that. And as you move to be ‘inclusive’ with those that have radical ideas of human sexuality, which are hostile to religious freedom, the Republican Party becomes just Democrat Light.”

Perkins called on RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to resign.

PERKINS: “This was something that Ronna did on her own. Quite frankly, I think it’s time for her to take up something else.”

STARNES: “So, she needs to step down, is what you’re saying.”

PERKINS: “I think so. Yeah, she needs to step down. She has outlived her purpose at the RNC.”

Proverbs 25:26 says, “A righteous man who falters before the wicked Is like a murky spring and a polluted well.”

Consumer prices have increased 6.2% in last year

Over the last 12 months, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that consumer prices increased by 6.2%.

It’s the biggest price increase since 1990. Energy costs alone have risen 30% over the last year.

Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve announced last week it will begin pulling back its massive bond-purchasing stimulus program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Facebook & Instagram will end some targeted ads

Facebook parent company Meta announced it will end targeted ads for topics that many deem sensitive like “health, race or ethnicity, political affiliation, religion, or sexual orientation.”

The move comes after criticism that Facebook allowed micro-targeting to manipulate or neglect certain groups.

The change also applies to Instagram and will begin January 19, 2022.

GOP truck driver beats Democrat New Jersey senate president

And finally, Democrat New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney  conceded his reelection to Republican truck driver Edward Durr yesterday.

Durr ran a low-cost campaign and beat one of the state’s most powerful politicians 52% to 48%.

Job 34:24 says, “[God] breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry, and sets others in their place.”

Durr said he entered the race after being denied a concealed carry permit despite having a clean record. Plus, Durr wants to stop abortion, lower property taxes, and create a business-friendly environment.  He was especially upset with all the COVID shutdowns that infringed on people’s right to work, go to church, and go to school.

Listen to what he told NBC, Channel 10.

DURR: “It was a repudiation of the policies that have been forced down their throats. People told they can’t have a job, they can’t go to church, they can’t go to school, they can’t go shopping, they can’t go and eat dinner. You cannot continue to tell people they cannot do things when we live in the freest country in the world!”
