Egyptian Christian man killed, shot 20 times
Last week, masked Muslim gunmen killed a young Christian man in the Egyptian city of Dabaa.
The killers shot Rani Raafat over 20 times at his place of work before burning his car and fleeing.
Raafat worked in veterinary medicine and had no known enemies. His family suspects sectarian-religious motives.
Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.”
International Christian Concern President Jeff King said, “We are saddened to hear the news of yet another violent incident targeting an Egyptian Christian. … We are watching Egypt closely to see if these are warning signs of a more challenging future for Egyptian Christians.”
Earlier this month, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom recommended that Egypt be put on the State Department’s Special Watchlist for religious freedom violations.
Egypt is the 20th worst country in the world for the persecution of Christians.
Denmark stops COVID shots
Denmark became the first country to halt its COVID-shot program last week.
The Danish Health Authority said, “Spring has arrived, vaccine coverage in the Danish population is high, and the epidemic has reversed.”
The U.S. and Europe have been relaxing COVID-19 restrictions. However, China has enacted new lockdowns in major cities which have hurt their economy and global supply chains.
Christian group: We will not fund “sex-change” surgeries
Alliance Defending Freedom is representing the Christian Employers Alliance in a case against the Biden administration.
The Christian employer group is challenging two mandates that require nonprofits and companies to cover so-called “sex-change” surgeries.
ADF Legal Counsel Jacob Reed said, “The government cannot force Christian employers to pay for, and Christian health care providers to physically perform, harmful medical procedures that contradict their religious beliefs. We urge the court to immediately halt enforcement of these unlawful mandates.”
Chief Justice Roberts, Senator Cruz react to leaked opinion
A press release from the U.S. Supreme Court confirmed the authenticity of a leaked draft opinion from the court that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
Chief Justice John Roberts called the leak “egregious” and directed the Marshal of the Court to launch an investigation.
The high court said the draft does not necessarily represent its final decision.
Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas decried the leak as well.
CRUZ: “If the vicious, partisan politicking, that characterizes today’s Democratic Party, now becomes how employees of the court operate, that is an incredible threat to our independent judiciary.”
Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah said the Supreme Court ought to immediately release its final decision on Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban after their draft opinion was leaked to the media.
In the draft, Justice Samuel Alito wrote, “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
Biden’s Orwellian “Ministry of Truth”
Last week, the Biden administration announced its plan to create a Disinformation Governance Board.
The board would combat “disinformation” on issues like COVID-19 and elections. The announcement comes shortly after tech billionaire Elon Musk purchased Twitter to make it a “platform for free speech.”
Free speech advocates denounced the new Disinformation Board and compared it to the so-called “Ministry of Truth” in George Orwell’s 1984.
Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said he will be fighting back against Biden’s “Ministry of Truth.” And Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas said he will be announcing a bill to defund it.
Conservative Global Methodist Church launches
Conservative Methodists officially launched the Global Methodist Church on Sunday.
The new group represents a major split with the United Methodist Church over faux homosexual marriage and ordination of homosexuals.
Although the United Methodist Church bans such practices, many in the denomination have come out in favor of sexually perverted lifestyles.
Virginia pastor, upset with public schools, starts Christian school
And finally, Virginia’s Loudoun County Schools have been at the center of controversy in recent years.
Parents and teachers have railed against the schools’ push for Critical Race Theory and transgender policies. One Christian teacher was even suspended for refusing to call students by biologically incorrect pronouns.
In response, Pastor Gary Hamrick of Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia announced the launch of a new Christian school—Cornerstone Christian Academy.
In a week, the school had over 2,500 students pre-registered and over 450 emails from teachers wanting employment.
Hamrick called on the church to help give children a biblical worldview.
HAMRICK: “Our kids need an alternative. We have to, ourselves, as a church, get engaged. What can we do to help give a Christian-based, biblical worldview education for our children?”
Psalm 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
