Burmese Pastor Killed by Rebels

On February 1st, International Christian Concern reported that a missing Burmese pastor, Tun Nu, was killed by rebels in Rakhine state. The pastor disappeared on January 19th. His family is mourning the loss of their father and husband.

Pray for heavenly comfort for Pastor Nu’s family. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”

China: Videos Showing Sexual Perversion & Christian Videos Equally Bad

According to Persecution.org, China is imposing heavy restrictions on Christian video material.

The Regulations on Administration of Online Short Video Platforms and the General Rules for Reviewing Netcasting Content released new rules on January 9th that requires all short videos to be reviewed before being uploaded to the internet.

The rules state that no homosexual or other sexual perversions will be allowed, and videos showing any “religious extremism” or videos that teach one religion as better than another, will be heavily regulated.

Pray for Chinese Christians to remain steadfast and bold despite the increased restrictions.

How God Answered Prayer in the Netherlands

The Lord heard His people and responded to 96 days of prayer from a church in the Netherlands to keep an Armenian family from being kicked out of the country.

The Tamrazyan family, originally from Armenia, moved to the Netherlands seeking refuge approximately nine years ago. NBC News reports that the church held prayer from October 26th until January 30th when the Dutch courts decided to let the family stay.

Russia Discriminates Against Jehovah’s Witnesses, Protestant Christians

On Wednesday, Russia sentenced Dennis Christensen, a Danish man arrested in 2017 at a meeting of the Jehovah’s Witnesses cult, to six years in prison.

Russia classifies Jehovah’s Witnesses along with other “religious extremist groups” including Protestants Christians or any other non-Russian Orthodox groups.

This sentencing is one more indication of the restricted religious liberties currently in Russia.

Twitter Bans Another Christian Speaking Truth About Transgenderism

A British mother was told by British police that she could be jailed back in 2017 for a comment she made on Twitter against “transgenderism.”

When Kellie Minshull wrote a tweet that disagreed with Susan Green, the mother of a man who had gender reassignment surgery, and is now known as “Jackie Green,” she didn’t realize it would result in a call from the police telling her Susan Green intended to press charges against her.

Minshull was recently interviewed on the National Review podcast where she explained why transgender ideology is so harmful.

The case began back in 2017 and Minshull is still under fire for her comments. On her website, after Minshull was banned from Twitter, she wrote, “I will not kowtow to an ideology that demands I cannot speak the truth. I will not be compelled to say a man is a woman, or that sterilizing children is okay, that encouraging kids who don’t fit in or who struggle with their identity that a good solution is puberty blockers and cross sex hormones and a lifetime of drugs.”

Genesis 5:2 speaks to the God-given genders that God ordained for each man and woman. “Male and female He created them.”

The danger Late-Term Abortions Pose to the Mothers

After the recent passage of abortion legislation in New York, a number of other states are considering similar measures to allow abortion right up to the point of birth. The World View spoke to Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue about how additional access to abortion into the later stages of pregnancy endangers the health of women.

SULLENGER: “Because these abortions are done in outpatient surgical facilities that are not equipped like hospitals are equipped, so when a complication arises, what we’re talking about here is women that are induced into full blown labor for a live baby. They’re just delivering a dead baby. And when those complications happen, the woman has to be rushed to the hospital in an ambulance to save her life. And they don’t always make it in time.”

Half of Christian Millennials Don’t Believe in Evangelism

And finally, a recent survey from Barna indicates that almost 50% of Christian young people, ages 22-37, said they don’t think Christians should share the gospel with unbelievers in order to convert them.

On a positive note, the survey found that 96% of Christian millennials said, “Part of my faith means being a witness about Jesus.” But 47% said that, “It is wrong to share one’s personal beliefs with someone of a different faith in hopes that they will one day share the same faith.”

Sounds a little schizophrenic if you ask me.

The Apostle Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, had a different perspective in Romans 1:15-16 when he stated, “So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”

Abortion Industry Lie: Late-Term Abortion Saves Lives of Mothers

The abortion industry commonly argues for late-term abortions by insisting that they must be legal in order to preserve the life of the mother. However, Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue told The World View that there is never a case in which abortion is necessary for the health of the mother.

SULLENGER: “When women have challenges, even if it’s a fetal anomaly, which is a very difficult situation for families to deal with, still there is help available for them. An abortion is not the solution to that problem.”

Sullenger said that in Wichita, Kansas there used to be a late-term abortion facility. But right down the road was a pro-life medical clinic specifically dedicated to helping pregnant mothers to give birth to babies with fetal anomalies.

SULLENGER: “For instance, we used to have this late-term abortion clinic here in Wichita. It was the largest late-term abortion clinic outside of Communist China at the time. And right down the street was a pro-life center; it’s actually a pro-life medical clinic. And they offer prenatal hospice.

“So they would take in families that had a diagnosis of prenatal anomalies or deformities of some sort. And they would help these people deal with that, prepare for it, and if the baby died shortly after birth, they would be there to offer support for them.”

Sullenger encouraged people to be involved in making their voices heard for the lives of the unborn. This is all the more critical with new legislation that extends abortion, in some cases, to the point of birth.

SULLENGER: “People can contact their legislators. They can make their positions public. They can get on social media and tag their local representatives, their local legislators, their governors. You can make a public stink in so many words. Even letters to the editor. They get put online. They can go everywhere.”

Sullenger noted how New York’s recent abortion legislation put fuel on the fire for more states to lift their abortion limits, allowing more abortions to take place.

SULLENGER: “Other states that have pro-abortion administrations and legislatures may want to copy. In fact, there are a number of states that are trying to do that right now, like, I believe, Connecticut, Vermont is another one, and of course Virginia failed in their attempt to do something similar.”

She said that people shouldn’t be deceived into thinking that late-term abortions are not already common. There are 133 abortion mills around the country that perform abortions after 20 weeks gestation.

Jeremiah 22:3 mandates that we continue to defend the vulnerable unborn in our nation. “Thus says the Lord: “Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.”

Colorado Man Successfully Defended Himself from Lion by Hand

Recently, a Colorado man was jogging on a remote trail near Horsetooth Mountain when a mountain lion attacked him.

Reuters reports that the jogger engaged in a life and death struggle with the animal, and he was able to suffocate the animal with his bare hands. He ran back down the mountain for help. By God’s mercy, it appears that he will make a full recovery.

The Lord protected Samson in a similar way in Judges 14:5-6, “Then Samson went down with his father and mother to Timnah, and they came to the vineyards of Timnah. And behold, a young lion came toward him roaring. Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and although he had nothing in his hand, he tore the lion in pieces as one tears a young goat. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.”
