Sudan in crisis
The situation in Sudan is “spiraling out of control,” according to a United Nations report.
More than 4.3 million people have been displaced and 20 million face “acute hunger.” Rival military groups are fighting over control of the country in and around Khartoum, the nation’s capital.
The Persecution Project is ministering to 250,000 refugees crowded into the Nuba communities in the south. They are distributing shelter tarps, refugee aid kits, and Bibles to the strangers moving in.

China’s slipping economy
China is facing increasing economic pressures—now with a 21% youth unemployment rate.
Also, China’s industrial capacity utilization rate has dropped off to 74%. That’s down from 78% two years ago.
Exports are running at $280 billion per month, down from $310 billion per month just a year ago. But still, China’s Gross Domestic Product growth, at 5% this year, is still twice the U.S. growth rate.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Consumer Price Index has soared to 7.44%. That’s a 40-year high. Core CPI is upwards of 6.9%.
British nurse found guilty of murdering 7 newborns
After what some have called the longest murder trial in UK history, a nurse has been sentenced to life in prison for killing seven newborn babies, reports CBS News.
The judge noted that the 33-year-old, Lucy Letby, was guilty of a “campaign of child murder” driven by “a deep malevolence bordering on sadism.”
Currently, the rate of child-killing is increasing at 16.8% per year in England and Wales–with almost 250,000 abortions in 2022. That’s up from 215,000 in 2021.
Indeed, there is a very deep malevolence bordering on sadism.
Matthew 24:12 explains “because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
God hit California with a hurricane and an earthquake
God hit California with a major hurricane, that turned into a tropical storm over the weekend, producing rainfall totaling 3-7 inches throughout the Los Angeles metro, and swamping parts of the desert in knee-deep flood waters.
As the storm rolled in, the Ventura basin was hit with a 5.1-magnitude earthquake on Sunday afternoon at 2:41 pm.
California GOP: Abandon pre-born babies and Biblical marriage
The California Republican Party is proposing a modification of the party platform that would remove anti-abortion language and change their position on opposing homosexual marriage, reports the Daily Caller.
Californians adopted a pro-abortion referendum by a two-thirds majority vote last November.
Trump’s lead over DeSantis widens in Iowa
Following his fourth indictment, former President Donald Trump is increasing his lead in Iowa for the 2024 Republican nomination.
The Iowa Poll stands at 43% for Trump and 18% for Governor Ron DeSantis, up from a 38%-20% split several weeks ago.
The Des Moines Register reported that, “Trump has never been viewed favorably by more of Iowa’s likely Republican caucus goers than he is now, the Iowa Poll shows.”
Trump shuns GOP debate, to appear with Tucker Carlson
As The Worldview noted on Monday, Trump will not participate in the upcoming Wednesday night Republican debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin hosted by Fox News. He will visit with Tucker Carlson instead.
Recently dismissed by Fox News as their most popular talk show host, Carlson’s audience on X, formerly Twitter, ranges between 10 and 50 million views.
Today, Fox News Prime Time programming is averaging 2.2 million views with Jesse Watters, reports New York Magazine. And, most recently, before Carlson was dismissed, he garnered 3.3 million views.
Drop in U.S. fertility rate
The Centers for Disease Control reports another 1% decrease of babies born in this country in 2022 as compared to 2021. That’s a 2.3% drop off as compared to the 2019 numbers.
The U.S. fertility rate is about 1.64, with Hispanics averaging 1.88, Blacks averaging 1.71, and Whites averaging 1.55.
South Korea, China, and Italy have lowest birth rates worldwide
South Korea countenances the lowest birth rate in the world at 0.78, followed by China (1.09), Italy (1.24), Greece (1.28), Japan (1.33), and Spain (1.36).
Last year, China’s population dropped by 850,000 for the first time. Japan is losing 660,000 people a year in population. Both China and Japan are slated to lose about 45% of their population base by 2100. And South Korea is slated to lose 54% of its population base by 2100.
In Deuteronomy 28:15-19, God gave this warning to the nation of Israel. “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all His commandments and His statutes. . . . Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.”

Colleges, including Christian ones, pandering to video “gamers”
Is this another good reason to attend college? World Magazine reports 240 universities, including Christian colleges, with e-sports programs. Translation: We’re talking fake sports for gamers!
Indiana Wesleyan University has built a gaming facility, and added a coach to the college staff. Gaming is referred to as a “missional opportunity” and a “means of fostering spiritual connections.”
14 cities ready to ban meat, dairy, and private vehicles
Fourteen cities in America have signed up for a program called C-40 intended to ban meat, dairy, and private vehicles by the year 2030. It’s all based on a 68-page report entitled “The Future of Urban Consumption.”
That includes Austin, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.
