British Missionary Murdered in Nigeria

A British missionary was killed by militants from the Egbesu cult in Nigeria. Ian Squire and three other missionaries had been kidnapped and held in a bamboo hut. Squire was shot by an armed guard after singing the hymn “Amazing Grace.” 

The other missionaries received their freedom after the Nigerian government reportedly paid a ransom for them. 

Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.”

Volcano in Bali, Indonesia Spews Tons of Ash and May Erupt

It is an awesome demonstration of God’s sovereign power.

A volcano is spewing tons of ash in Bali, Indonesia that has resulted in the shutdown of the international airport and 140,000 Indonesians have been evacuated from the area as of last night.

Scientists believe that a full eruption could be imminent. That would be the first time in 54 years for Mount Agung.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Says North Korea Problem Cannot Be Ignored

Last week, the United States designated North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism.

“The United States is designating North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism. Should have happened a long time ago; should have happened years ago. In addition to threatening the world by nuclear devastation, North Korea has repeatedly supported acts of international terrorism, including assassinations on foreign soil.”

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told reporters yesterday that the problem with North Korea cannot be ignored any longer. He called it an “Apocalyptic scenario” developing on the peninsula.

President Trump Prepares to Fill 53 More Judicial Seats

President Donald Trump is filling judicial positions faster than ever. . . eight appeals court seats thus far. That compares to only three nominations by President Obama in his first year.

Trump is moving to fill 53 more judicial seats right away. However, the Washington Post points out that only 60% of the president’s nominations have been confirmed in the 2010s, down from 80-90% in the 1970s.

Federal Budget Deficit Rises 15% Since Last Year

The Congressional Budget Office puts the 2017 deficit now at $666 billion, a 15% increase over the previous year.

The CBO estimates the current tax reform bill will add another $100 billion to the 2018 budget deficit and $220 billion to the 2019 budget deficit.

Surgical Abortion Rate at Its Lowest Since Roe v. Wade

The Centers for Disease Control announced that surgical abortion rates have fallen to their lowest level since the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 — 12.1 per 1,000 women in 2014.

That’s down from 28 per 1,000 women in 1980. Yet, emergency contraception use is up 11-fold since 1995.

Time Inc. Sold for $1.8 Billion  

Time Incorporated has been sold. . . for $1.8 billion. The conservative Koch brothers will have a hand in it now.

The Texas oil family will have about $650 million invested in the purchase of a conglomerate of magazines including Time and Sports Illustrated. 

YouTube Censors Conservatives but Keeps Videos Countenancing Child Exploitation

Another Christian pastor has been censored by YouTube, according to WorldNetDaily.com.

Carl Gallups was yanked over the weekend by the web video hub. He joins conservative columnists and talk show hosts Michelle Malkin, Michael Brown and Dennis Prager, whose materials have been pulled from YouTube this year.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reports that Mars Inc. and Adidas have pulled advertising from YouTube over the company’s allowing posted videos that countenance the sexual exploitation of children.

Colorado Sees Rising Drug Problems and Homelessness After Legalizing Marijuana

The State of Colorado has concluded five years of the legalization of marijuana. Barbwire issued an assessment of progress so far. 

Colorado ranks number one in the nation for teen pot use, the homelessness growth rate is among the highest in the nation, and drug violations among teen kids is up 71% in the last five years.

Elderly Man Finds His Car After Twenty Years

Have you ever lost your car in a parking lot? Well, an elderly man from Germany just found his car — after twenty years! 

Authorities promptly tracked down the owner in question, now a 76-year-old senior citizen. Twenty years ago, he parked his car in an old industrial building, and forgot where he put it.

According to the German newspaper “Augsberger Allgemein”, police identified the owner 20 years later, and reunited the man with his car — which as it turned out was rusted out and ready to be junked.
