Trump Pleased with Singapore Summit with Kim
After meeting North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Singapore, President Donald Trump said he sees a “new future” for Kim’s isolated and impoverished nation, reports the Associated Press.
“I want to thank Chairman Kim for taking the first bold step toward a bright new future for his people. Our unprecedented meeting, the first between an American president and a leader of North Korea, proves that real change is indeed possible.
“My meeting with Chairman Kim was honest, direct and productive. … We’re prepared to start a new history, and we’re ready to write a new chapter between our nations.”
Trump shared a surprising, but positive development if the North Korean dictator keeps his word.
“Chairman Kim has told me that North Korea is already destroying a major missile engine testing site. That’s not in your signed document; we agreed to that after the agreement was signed. That’s a big thing. For the missiles that they were testing, the site is going to be destroyed very soon.
“We have right now 32,000 soldiers in South Korea. And I’d like to be able to bring them back home, but that’s not part of the equation right now. At some point, I hope it will be, but not right now. We will be stopping the war games, which will save us a tremendous amount of money.”
Trump and Kim signed a joint statement yesterday agreeing to work toward a denuclearized Korean Peninsula, although the timeline and tactics were left unclear.

Special Report: Porn More Acceptable in America’s Spiritual Desert
Time now for a World View Special Report by Emily Swanson. I’m Adam McManus
By Emily Swanson
Why has the acceptability of viewing pornography gone up by 7% since 2011?
The World View spoke to Pastor Scott Brown of the National Center for Family-Integrated Churches about why this is the case. He said that it’s the same problem in many cultures.
“For example, Edward Gibbons published a history of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, and he gave five reasons. And the first and really most fundamental factor was the breakdown of the family. You don’t have parents teaching their children. You don’t have this inculcation of the Word of God when you sit in the house, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
Brown said that the breakdown of the family creates lots of time for people to engage in satisfying sinful pleasures.
“When you do that you have lots of time to do lots of different things. Another element Gibbons identified is the craving for pleasure, focused on the body, sports becoming more and more important, more brutal, more exciting. It’s the exaltation of the body and pride and things like that. And then he also talks about the decay of religion.”
Pastor Brown said that the one common factor between all of those is the absence of God’s Word.
“They all have to do with a famine of the Word of God. The lamp of the Word of God has gone out. The lamp of the Word of God has gone out.”
Pastor Brown said there are some disturbing trends that have led to porn being a “morally acceptable” sin.
“You have some trends that really began with the sexual revolution in the 1960s. The Supreme Court said it was impossible to define character. You had a whole generation that exalted rebellion against their parents, and you had this family breakdown like we had never seen in America.”
Pastor Brown explained that fatherlessness has not been good for children growing up in a generation that doesn’t condemn the sin of pornography.
“You have a third of American children growing up without their biological fathers. And, by the way, the father is not home, and the kids go home and get on the screen. They’re not being deployed to meaningful things.”
Brown said that the solution is shepherding and pastors walking alongside their congregants.
“I think the greatest solution is the mobilization of parents to do what the Bible says they should do, and that is to teach their children, to care for their children, to shepherd their children. Shepherds walk with the sheep, and if the shepherds were walking with the sheep, the sheep wouldn’t be thinking there’s nothing morally wrong with pornography. And they’re not, like some of these adults and children watching pornography into the wee hours of the night; no one is there shepherding them.”
Pastor Brown said there has been a breakdown of shepherding not just in the family, but also the church.
“I really do believe it’s rooted in the destruction of the family and the role of parents and also of the church. The church has become not even a secondary matter rather than the fellowship, the worship, the preaching of the church isn’t very important, so there’s a lot of time to do a lot of other things.”
Pastor Brown said that pornography is portraying the antithesis of true, godly love.
“It’s terrifying for me to think of a whole generation that has grown up in a culture of pornography and what it will do to their marriages. Pornography is the polar opposite of love.
“For example, the Bible makes it really clear that what makes a marriage work is a husband who loves his wife like Christ loved the church and He gives himself up for her and He nourishes her and He cherishes her. Pornography is taking. Pornography is objectifying someone. Pornography is using someone. Pornography is inherently selfish.”
Pastor Brown shared the advice he gives to young men when they get married.
“I’ve done a number of weddings of young people over the years, and one of the things I try to tell the young men is, ‘If you’ve ever seen anything in pornography, don’t do it. Don’t do it because it’s nothing but selfishness.’ Don’t replicate that in your bedroom. Go read Ephesians 5.”
Pastor Brown asked that the body of Christ would pray for more shepherding in the homes and more of God’s Word.
“We should pray that parents would shepherd their children by walking beside them and taking them to green pastures and not letting them go to bad pastures and the brackish poisonous water. Homes need to be filled with the Word of God. It’s the Word of God that’s the great protector and it gives blessing to all those who heed it. Those two things are the most critical.”
Pastor Brown concluded by saying that the church of Jesus Christ should be crying out for a revival of biblical church practices of the preaching of the Word, the reading of God’s Word, taking the Lord’s Supper, and Christian fellowship.
Ephesians 5:25-28 says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.”

Pakistani Christian Man Pleads for Help
A Pakistani Christian man named Maqsood Bakhsh has been seeking asylum in Glasgow ever since he fled his country back in 2012 with his wife and two sons after Islamic extremists threatened to kill him, reports the BBC.
The Pakistani man is convinced that he would be killed upon a forced return to the Islamic country because he witnessed the murder of two Christians shot outside a court in Faisalabad in 2010 who wrote a pamphlet critical of the false Prophet Muhammad that flouted Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy law, which carries the death penalty. Presumably, the murderers suspect that Bakhsh is affiliated with them somehow.
Since he has run out of appeals, the Pakistani Christian man has appealed to the prime minister to allow him and his family to stay in the UK.

Missouri Senator Isn’t as “Plain Jane” as Her Image
Despite the fact that Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri said her campaign was “hitting the road” in an RV named BigBlue to tour the state, public flight information indicates that travel also occurred on her million-dollar private plane, reports the Washington Free Beacon.
Worse yet, McCaskill has taken steps to hide the use of her plane. In a 2017 email obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the senator asked the Federal Aviation Administration to block radar tracking information on her plane from being publicly broadcast on the internet on websites such as FlightAware.com.
Special Needs Child, Abortion, and Human Cruelty
People can be so cruel.
Soleannys Lugo, 34, of San Cristobal, Venezuela, rejected her doctor’s counsel to abort her baby in light of her physical handicaps. Today, her daughter Helianny is three with facial deformities that protrude from her head like a crown, reports Life News.
Because she looks different, strangers routinely tell the parents that they should have aborted Helianny because she is “ugly”.
Lugo, the mother, said, “I believe Helianny came to this world to teach us not to give up, to stop complaining about nonsense, to live one day at a time, to be grateful with what we have… I love her with my soul and with all my heart.”
