Why a Christian Kenyan 13-year-old girl was orphaned

Jeff King, president of International Christian Concern, tells a story that we need to hear about a 13-year-old Kenyan girl named Nancy.

KING: “In the cool of the evening, Nancy and her parents are out in the front yard, just enjoying the evening air when a friend and neighbor comes over.  With a smile and a laugh, he walks up to her parents and then blows himself and her parents to a another world.

“That’s when 13-year-old Nancy’s life was changed forever. She was wounded in the attack. She lost some fingers. But, more importantly, she lost her parents. And that’s the wound that never goes away.”

King explained what animated their neighbor to become a suicide bomber.

KING: “So, that neighbor that came over was a convert to Islam and he had been radicalized. Unfortunately, he felt like it was his duty to kill these Christians.”

Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” (John 15:18)

International Christian Concern will be paying for Nancy’s living expenses and education at a private school in Kenya.

Putin warns against creating no-fly zone over Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Saturday that his country would consider any third-party declaration of a no-fly zone over Ukraine as participation in the war there, reports CBS News.

He said Russia would view “any move in this direction” as an intervention that “will pose a threat to our service members.”

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has pleaded for a no-fly zone over his country and lashed out at NATO for refusing to impose one, warning that “all the people who die from this day forward will also die because of you.”

NATO has said a no-fly zone, which would bar all unauthorized aircraft from flying over Ukraine, could provoke widespread war in Europe.

Former Intelligence Director: Putin is “a 21st century Hitler”

Appearing on CNN on Saturday, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper  called Russian President Vladimir Putin a 21st Century Hitler.

CLAPPER: “This is one of the big enigmas for U.S. intelligence is the mindset of Vladmir Putin. It’s always been a mystery to us. All we really have to go on, at least for me, is his behavior and statements, his demeanor, and what he is causing to happen.

“He’s a 21st century Hitler. He’s brutal, cold, no respect for humanity. And you can see that play out through these graphic images and videos that we’re getting from Ukraine. It’s dreadful.”

Zelenskyy to U.S. Senators: Launch oil embargo on Russia

On a Zoom call Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pleaded with U.S. senators to do two things.

First, introduce an oil embargo on Russia.  And second, push Eastern European countries to provide Russian-made planes to his country, reports Axios.com.

Tucker Carlson: “We overestimated Joe Biden.”

On Friday’s opening commentary, Fox News Host Tucker Carlson explained that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are both incompetent in the face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

CARLSON: “We didn’t underestimate Vladimir Putin. We overestimated Joe Biden. But we knew that once Kamala Harris was involved, it couldn’t really be that serious. This is just not a serious person, not surrounded by serious people. And yet we’re in an extremely serious moment that demands seriousness, of course.

“Less than two weeks ago, as all of this was brewing, on the brink, the Biden administration sent Kamala Harris to represent the United States at the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Clearly, the White House must see the European heads of state as equivalent to Tick Tock influencers. This is some kind of photo op.”

VP Harris: “Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine”

Days after Putin invaded Ukraine, a radio talk show host asked Vice President Harris to explain what was happening.  Her response was demonstrably patronizing.

HOST: “Break it down in layman’s terms for people who don’t understand what’s going on. How can this directly affect the people the United States?”

HARRIS: “So, Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically. that’s wrong.”

Governor DeSantis eager to sign pro-life bill

Last Thursday, Florida’s State Senate passed legislation banning abortion within the state after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

They sent the pro-life bill to Republican Governor Ron DeSantis  who has vowed to sign the bill “in short order,” reports LifeSiteNews.com.

Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.”

Voddie Baucham asked to accept nomination for SBC president

And finally, renowned Southern Baptist preacher Voddie Baucham, who denounced critical race theory and the social justice movement in his latest book, Fault Lines: The Social Justice Movement and Evangelicalism’s Looming Catastrophe, confirmed Friday that he has been asked to “accept a nomination for SBC President,” reports the Christian Post.

However, he isn’t sure he is eligible to accept the nomination.

Baucham, 52, currently serves as dean of theology at African Christian University in Zambia and a board member of Founders Ministries, a conservative group within the SBC dedicated to the “biblical reformation of local churches.”

He said, “My sending church (the church I planted) … has always believed that missionaries sent to the field needed to join local churches in order to be shepherded properly.

“Unfortunately, since the SBC is an American entity, that means missionaries who leave the USA must either practice non-resident membership (which I am convinced is unbiblical), or join a local church and be ‘technically’ outside the SBC while being counted as SBC missionaries.”
