North Korean Dictator Wants Pope to Visit

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is extending an invitation through South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in for Pope Francis to visit him in Pyongyang, according to an announcement from South Korea’s presidential office this week.

However, North Korea continues as the world’s worst persecutor of Christians based on the Open Doors World Watch List where tens of thousands of believers are held in oppressive labor camps.

You can support getting Bibles, food, medicine, and training to Christians in North Korea through a fundraiser by Open Doors USA, linked today in our transcript at theworldview.com.

Secretary of State Hopeful About Denuclearized Korean Peninsula

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Monday that his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Sunday made “significant progress” in the attempt to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.

Pompeo said the U.S. and North Korea were close to agreeing on a second summit between President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.

Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

Religious Freedom Victory for Irish Christian Bakery

The five-judge panel of Britain’s Supreme Court ruled unanimously yesterday that a Christian bakery in Northern Ireland acted lawfully when they declined to make a cake with the words “Support Gay Marriage” back in 2014.

The judges declared, “The rights to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and to freedom of expression were clearly engaged by this case. They include the right not to be obliged to manifest beliefs one does not hold.”

After four years of litigation, the Ashers Baking Company general manager, Daniel McArthur, gave thanks to God for the ruling, reports The Christian Institute.

“I want to start by thanking God. He has been with us during the challenges of the last four years. And through the Bible and the support of Christians He has comforted us and sustained us. He is our Rock, and all His ways are just. . . . I know a lot of people will be very glad of this ruling today because this ruling protects freedom of speech and freedom of conscience for everyone.”

Canadian Hospital Okays Euthanizing Children Without Parental Consent

Doctors from Toronto, Canada’s Hospital for Sick Children published policies for assisted suicide in the Journal of Medical Ethics.

The draft policy only applies to doctor-assisted suicide among youths 18 years and older, but the report also developed policy with an eye towards a day in which it would be legal for minors as well.

Shockingly, the policy also covered scenarios where parents would not be informed until after their child’s life was ended.

Isaiah 59:7 says, “Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.”

Hurricane Michael Storms Through Florida, Headed to Alabama, Georgia, Carolinas

In God’s providence, Category 4 Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Florida Panhandle yesterday with winds of over 150 mph and a dangerous storm surge.

The eye of the storm is on a path through Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas before heading off the Mid-Atlantic coast by Friday.

Michael is the third strongest hurricane to hit the U.S. on record.

Teens More Likely to Embrace Moral Relativism

A recent Barna study found that 24 percent of teens believe morality is relative, compared to 12 percent of the Boomer generation.

Teens were also less likely to believe that abortion and homosexuality are wrong compared with older generations.

“Christian” Students Who Deny God’s Truth About Homosexuality

Azusa Pacific Christian University reinstated their ban last month on homosexual relationships on campus, saying there was a “miscommunication” between the college and its Board of Trustees, reports The Sacramento Bee.

Last week, about 100 students and faculty protested the ban in a university courtyard.

One leading student even said, “This isn’t something sinful, God. This is something beautiful.”

But God said in Isaiah 5:20-21, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil . . . Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes.”

Franklin Graham: “Nothing More Valuable Than a Soul”

And finally, on Sunday, evangelist Franklin Graham shared his experience of preaching the Gospel with 16,000 people in Monterrey, Mexico.

Graham said, “We praise God that hundreds of people responded to the invitation to turn from their sins and trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.”
