Kidnapped Nigerian Christian teenager Leah Sharibu reportedly alive

Leah Sharibu, the Nigerian Christian teenager who was kidnapped, is reportedly still alive.

Boko Haram, the extremist Islamic group, abducted Sharibu and many other schoolgirls in Nigeria, Africa in February 2018, releasing them all except Sharibu because she would not renounce her Christian faith.

Last Wednesday, Boko Haram released five aid workers whom they had kidnapped in December 2019. One of the aid workers, Jennifer Ukambong Samuel, said she spoke with Christian nurse Alice Loksha Ngaddah who has been enslaved along with Sharibu. Ngaddah said that Sharibu is alive, but asked for prayers, adding that she had left everything to God.

Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

U.S.-China trade war hurt Chinese economic growth

China’s economic growth slowed to a nearly 30-year low in 2019 amid a trade war with the United States.

The world’s second largest economy slowed in growth to 6.1% last year, down from 6.6% in 2018.

Meanwhile, the communist country’s birth rate has fallen to a 70-year low of 10.48 per 1,000 in 2019 despite rolling back the infamous one-child policy.

U.K. parliament debates assisted suicide today

The U.K. parliament is debating the legalization of assisted suicide today.

The Westminster Hall debate will not actually change the law or include a vote, but it does represent a push by the pro-death lobby to legalize such killing.

Wisdom says in Proverbs 8:36, “All those who hate me love death.”

Trump declared National Sanctity of Human Life Day

President Donald Trump declared January 22, the anniversary of the infamous 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, to be “National Sanctity of Human Life Day.”

Trump wrote: “On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our Nation proudly and strongly reaffirms our commitment to protect the precious gift of life at every stage, from conception to natural death. Recently, we have seen decreases in the total number and rate of abortions in our country. . . . Still, there is more to be done, and, as President, I will continue to fight to protect the lives of the unborn. . . . As a Nation, we must remain steadfastly dedicated to the profound truth that all life is a gift from God, who endows every person with immeasurable worth and potential.”

Democrats try to reinstate parts of Obamacare

On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court refused the request of House Democrats to fast-track a case challenging the Affordable Care Act, but may hear the case later.

Democrats want to reinstate parts of Obamacare that have been repealed by the Trump administration.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court agreed last Friday to hear Little Sisters of the Poor v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania which involves a Trump administration rule that gives religious exemptions from the Obamacare mandate that would force groups to provide insurance coverage for abortifacients.

22,000 gun rights activists gather at Virginia Capital

Twenty-two thousand people joined a peaceful protest on Monday in Richmond, Virginia to oppose gun control legislation that Democratic Governor Ralph Northam and the new Democratic majority are pushing.

Officials warned about the possibility of violent clashes, however there were no incidents, and only one person was arrested on charges of wearing a mask in public.

Video of 3-year-old boy’s prayer at school goes viral

And finally, a video of three-year-old Makhi Martin leading his classmates in prayer earlier this month has gone viral, with nearly three million Facebook views.

The boy’s mother, Ranisha Martin, captured the moment at their Christian school in St. Louis, saying it was the first time she heard her son praying so clearly.

Listen to some of the prayer.

MAKHI MARTIN: “Father God, We thank you for this food. We ask you to bless it. Bless all the boys and girls all over the world to receive food. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

3 John 1:4 says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”
