Four Christians Suffer in Iranian Prison
Middle East Concern is requesting prayer for four Christians incarcerated at Evan Prison in Iran.
Three men, Naser Navard-Goltapeh, Ali Amini, and Majidreza Kushani and one woman, Fatimeh Mohammadi, are suffering for their testimony for Jesus Christ.
Former Pol Pot Propagandist Comes to Christ
Hong Kong’s South China Post Magazine tells the story of how Jesus saved the chief propagandist for Pol Pot’s communist Khmer Rouge.
Kong Duong now professes to be a Christian, hosts a radio program, and broadcasts his Christian commentary across Cambodia.
According to the magazine, “Conversion from Pol Pot’s ultra-Maoist ideology to Christianity is commonplace throughout Pailin, the country’s last Khmer Rouge stronghold. The soldiers and supporters who once waged war seek comfort in the Bible and preach love and compassion in the 22 churches that serve the town’s population of 70,000.”
The prophet Isaiah prays in Isaiah 64 – “Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence. As fire burns brushwood, as fire causes water to boil— to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence! When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, the mountains shook at Your presence.”
Hungarian Prime Minister Says Christianity Is Europe’s Last Hope
Hungary’s prime minister Viktor Orban called Christianity “Europe’s last hope” in a speech he gave in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday.
Orban said that Berlin and Paris have ”opened the way to the decline of Christian culture and the advance of Islam.” Orban further stated that Hungary stands in solidarity with those western Europeans and their leaders who want to save their countries and their Christian culture.
The prime minister also promised to seal Hungary’s borders to immigrants, and voiced his support for the Stop George Soros bill in the Hungarian legislature.
Victor Orban’s party, Fidesz, continues to enjoy substantial popular support in the country, and it is expected to win a third term in the upcoming election in April.
President Trump Supports Improved Background Checks for Gun Purchases
After a recent murder spree in a Florida high school, the White House announced that President Donald Trump is “supportive of efforts to improve the federal background check system” for gun purchases.
Trump has indicated support for a gun control bill sponsored by Republican Texas Senator John Cornyn, and supported by Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein and Chris Murphy.
Scientists Produce Sheep Embryos Containing Human Cells
American scientists announced over the weekend that they have created a second successful human-animal hybrid. The sheep embryos are made up of 0.01% human cells, according to a National Geographic report.
The goal of the research work is to create human organs in the bodies of animals.
Interestingly, Leviticus 19:19, is concerned with mixing of different kinds. “You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind.”
Transgender Insanity Strikes Across the Country
A principal of an elementary school in Swampscott, Massachusetts sent a letter to parents of the children attending the school, announcing that he would like to be referred to as a woman.
Plus, the state of Delaware will now allow children attending public schools to choose their own race as well as gender. The allowance is provided in Delaware’s Department of Education’s Prohibition of Discrimination, Administrative Code 225.
And an Ohio couple actually lost custody of their 17-year-old daughter over her desire to present herself as the other gender. In the case, the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office argued against the father whose “religious beliefs” were opposed to the gender transition, as reported by Fox 61.
The court turned custody over to the grandparents who, according to court records, had an “open mind” concerning transgenderism.
Eagles Quarterback Nick Foles Attends Pro-Homosexual Church
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles talked about his Christian faith in the media. The Super Bowl Champion told ABC late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel that he attends Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas, with actor Matthew McConaughey.
Sadly, Riverbend Church is known for its approval of the sin of homosexuality and its participation in the Texas Baptist Association, a denomination which approves of the rite of marriage for men living in unnatural relations with one another as well as women living in unnatural relations with one another.
