Nine Christians falsely jailed on anti-conversion charges in India

Last Wednesday, nine Christians in Uttar Pradesh, India, including eight women, were recently jailed on charges of Christian conversion from Hinduism, reports International Christian Concern

The police arrested them after a confrontation perpetrated by Hindu nationalists at a prayer gathering of Christians in Azamgarh district

Local sources said a mob of anti-Christian assailants stormed into a tent during a prayer meeting and started to rip off the tent and break plastic chairs used for the prayer gathering. The mob also threatened the Christians to renounce their faith in Christ or face dire consequences, including losing their crops and land.

In Matthew 10:22, Jesus said, “You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

Ukraine drone attack on Moscow

On Sunday, Russia said it had downed Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow and the Crimea peninsula, in attacks that damaged two office towers in the capital and briefly shut down an international airport, reports AFP News.

The Russian defense ministry said one drone targeting Moscow was shot down on the city’s outskirts and two others were “suppressed by electronic warfare” and smashed into an office complex early on Sunday. There were no injuries.

Media’s refusal to properly cover the Biden corruption story

On Friday, RealClearPolitics Washington bureau chief Carl Cannon weighed in on how the press is covering allegations about the president’s son Hunter during an appearance on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” reports Real Clear Politics.

CANNON: “There was a reluctance in Legacy Media to cover everything that came out of the Hunter Biden laptop story, even things like getting $5 million for a no-show job from a Ukrainian energy company. Hunter Biden doesn’t know anything about energy policy; he doesn’t speak Ukrainian. It’s corrupt on its face. But we’re reluctant to go there. This is starting to be the story no one can ignore.

“I don’t know that the press is doing the Democrat Party any favors, at this point, by ignoring the story. If it comes out that Joe Biden took bribes, you’d think they’d want to find out before he’s the nominee, not after, and while somebody like [Michigan Governor] Gretchen Whitmer, or [California Governor] Gavin Newsom could still get on the ballot.

“I think this is a story that everybody needs to pursue. Hunter’s corruption is well documented. If this stuff about Joe Biden being ‘The Big Guy who took 10%, if that just turns out to be Hunter Biden’s whiskey talk or an exaggeration or something he said to people, which is quite possible, then Joe Biden should be cleared.”

On July 20th, Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, released an unclassified FBI-generated record describing an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a Ukrainian business executive.

Executives for Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company, said they brought Hunter Biden on the board to “protect us through his dad, from all kinds of problems.” At the time, Burisma was seeking to do business in the United States, but was facing a corruption investigation in Ukraine, led by then-Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin

Regarding that investigation’s impact on its ambitions in North America, Burisma CEO Mykola Zlochevsky reportedly said, “Don’t worry, Hunter will take care of all of those issues through his dad.” Zlochevsky reportedly stated that he had to pay $5 million to Hunter Biden and $5 million to Joe Biden, an arrangement he described as ‘poluchili,’ which is Russian crime slang for being “forced or coerced to pay.”

Proverbs 29:4 says, “A just king gives stability to his nation, but one who demands bribes destroys it.”

Bill Maher: America’s COVID policy is “stuck on stupid”

Comedian Bill Maher, an agnostic or even possibly an atheist, who leans left on social issues, continues to object to the foolishness of the Left on both transgender policy and COVID policy.

In a recent edition of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, he was chatting with English comedian Russell Brand.

Listen.

MAHER: “Tennis player Novak Djokovic. He’s like the best player ever.”

BRAND: “He’s ever so good at tennis. He’s dedicated his life to it. What’s your point, sir?”

MAHER: “He cannot get into America. He liked to be playing at the, I think it’s coming up, the Miami Open or something. He is unvaccinated. But he’s had COVID twice. He had, this again, natural immunity. Something we always used to understand was, like, better than the actual vaccine. Somehow that got to be reversed. Head of the Miami tournament. I read a quote from him yesterday. He’s trying to get Djokovic in and he said, ‘There doesn’t seem to be any imminent danger.’

“Imminent danger. Of a man playing tennis, of a man who’s had it twice, standing alone, a sport where you’re alone, in the middle of a stadium, outside, in a country where everyone’s already had it. No imminent danger. This country is stuck on stupid! It just is.”

32 Worldview listeners gave $21,873.35

On Friday and Saturday, 32 Worldview listeners donated toward our $80,000 goal by 12 midnight tonight, July 31st, to keep this unique Christian newscast on the air for another year.

Our thanks to Jillian in Burgaw, North Carolina who gave $20, Trustin in Sintaluta, Saskatchewan, Canada and Linda in Wesley Chapel, Florida both of whom gave $25, an anonymous donor in Palmdale, California who gave $33.59, as well as Malia, Claire, Genevieve, and Levi in Paducah, Kentucky who gave $45.

We appreciate Ben in Wall, Texas and Demie in Dryden, Virginia – both of whom gave $50, Wilma in Jefferson City, Missouri who gave $52, as well as Natalie in Palmer, Alaska, Charlotte in Castle Rock, Colorado and Marie in Plainview, Texas – each of whom gave $100.

We’re grateful for Thomas in Amesbury, Massachusetts who gave $120, Paul in Keller, Texas and Holly in Greenville, South Carolina – both of whom pledged $10/month for 12 months for a total gift of $120 each, as well as Calvin in Odessa, Minnesota, Aimee in Lahaina, Hawaii, and Justin in Santa Maria, California – each of whom gave $200.

We were touched by the kindness of Charles in Stoughton, Wisconsin, John in Auburn, Washington, and Justin in Katy, Texas – each of whom gave $250, Todd in Pleasantville, Tennessee who gave $273.70, Tonnie in Castle Rock, Colorado who gave $300, Katherine in Hutchinson, Kansas who gave $335.06, and Thomas in Estancia, New Mexico who gave $374.

And we were blown away by the sacrificial generosity of Victory Electric in Lebanon, Oregon and Scott and Sophie in Lebanon, Oregon – both of whom pledged $100/month for 12 months for a total gift of $1,200 each, Jeannie in Columbia, South Carolina who gave $3,000, and Phillip and Christine in Temple, Texas who gave $10,000!

Those 32 new donations add up to $21,873.35. Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (Drum roll sound effect) $100,372.44! (Crowd cheering sound effect) That means we exceeded our $80,000 fundraising goal by $20,372.44!

As I was tallying up the credit card donations and the checks that were sent in, some by Priority Mail Express amazingly, I happened to be listening to Neil Sedaka, the 1960s singer, songwriter and pianist.  While his song entitled “You” is a love song, I thought part of the chorus perfectly encapsulated my deep gratitude for each one of you who gave a donation – whether you gave $5 or $10,000.

Listen.

SEDAKA:  “Cause you have turned the tide and made the world seem bright. You, and you alone, have turned the dark to light.”

As I listened to those lyrics, I started crying, tears dripping from my eyes as I can feel the love of Christ pouring in from across America, Canada, Sweden, England, and other countries around the globe.  You turned the tide. You made the world seem bright. And you turned the dark to light.

Without your financial sacrifice, The Worldview team would not be able to continue this vital Christian newscast.  On behalf of Emily Munday who researches some of the stories, Jonathan Clark and Kevin Swanson who write the transcript three days a week, Rebekah Swanson and Kayla White who add the theme music, upload it on multiple platforms, and select the image, and myself, thank you for your generosity and your care.

I’m reminded of the story in Exodus 17:8-15, when the Israelites were in a battle against the Amalekites. As long as Moses raised his arms up on the hill, the Israelites experienced victory. But, when he grew tired, and lowered his arms, the Amalekites started winning. Thankfully, Aaron and Hur came along both sides of Moses to help hold up his arms when he grew weary.  Those of you, who have prayed for this ministry or given financially, are like Aaron and Hur, holding up our arms as The Worldview team, as we wage spiritual war through this Christ-exalting, sin-chastising newscast.

I echo the words of the Apostle Paul who wrote in Philippians 1:3-5, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you, making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now.”

And, if you did not make a donation, but would still like to do so in order to strengthen our hand for this next year, just go to TheWorldview.com and click on “Give.”
