Algerian police arrested 12 Christians in worship service
Police in Algeria, Africa arrested 12 Christians at a worship service earlier this month.
Authorities accused them of conducting unauthorized, non-Muslim religious services. Under the country’s laws, such unauthorized worship could be punished with heavy fines and long prison sentences. Over 50 Christians in Algeria have faced prosecution in similar cases in recent years.
Morning Star News noted, “These cases … all attest to the persistence of a policy aimed at criminalizing the Christian faith and its structures within the country.”
Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Algeria. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

5.5 million Christians identify as Evangelical in United Kingdom
The Evangelical Alliance UK released a survey on evangelicalism across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The survey recognized Evangelicals based on four ideas:
- devotion to the Bible as God’s Word
- the centrality of the cross of Christ
- the belief that people must repent and turn to Christ, and
- the expression of the Gospel in evangelism and charitable work
People who hold evangelical beliefs and identify as Evangelical number 5.5 million in the United Kingdom. They make up about eight percent of the population. Evangelicals are now the majority among practicing Christians in the country. They are also young with over 40 percent under the age of 35.
U.S. military announced space weapons
On Monday, the U.S. military announced for the first time it has weapons in space.
Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink said, “The United States now has in-orbit, space-controlled weapons capable of defending the joint force against hostile adversary action.”
He said the weapons use both traditional explosives as well as electronic warfare. They also have integrations with artificial intelligence.
EPA announced chemical abortion drugs in water
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency launched a new study last week about pollutants in drinking water.
The study will trace and track over 1,400 substances. These include mifepristone and misoprostol which are used in chemical abortions.
Kristan Hawkins with Students for Life of America said, “For almost a year now, Students for Life spearheaded a grassroots campaign calling for water testing, as the deregulation of chemical abortion pills . . . means that abortion water pollution exists nationwide.”
Women are told to take the Abortion Kill Pills and flush everything directly into our water supply. About 700,000 chemical abortions each year send long-lasting abortion drugs and human remains into America’s wastewater systems.
Mifepristone blocks progesterone, thus starving the baby. This drug has long-lasting metabolites that remain in the water because the water treatment plants are generally not capable of filtering out these chemicals.
In addition to these chemicals, the water systems were never designed for the resulting 30-40 tons of human remains which becomes hazardous medical waste! By contrast, hospitals and abortion mills are not allowed to flush medical waste down the drain for good reason.
Women more satisfied with U.S. church than men
The American Bible Society released the latest chapter of its “State of Bible: USA 2026” report.
The survey found that only 49 percent of self-identifying Christians attend church monthly or more. Of those who attend regularly, most said they were satisfied with how their churches are ministering to them.
Across generations, women tended to express greater satisfaction with their church than men. Young men in particular expressed the lowest satisfaction with their church.
Ephesians 4:11-12 says of the church: “And He Himself gave some [to be] apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
Man who won U.S. Open didn’t realize he won at first
And finally, the U.S. Open Tennis Championships Men’s Final was played in New York on Sunday, with eight-seeded American Ben Shelton facing top seeded Alexander Zverev from Germany.
The United States had not had a man win the U.S. Open since 2003, a 23-year drought. Shelton, who had already upset the two-seed in his way to the finals, was looking for his first major title.
But, the Americans will have to wait another year, as Zverev came through to win the match in four sets: 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, and 6-2.
The best part? According to Yahoo Sports, Zverev did not realize he had actually won at first (video)!
